  • This paper proposes a digital image watermarking scheme, which is robust to geometrical attacks. The method improves image normalization-based watermarking (INW) technique that doesn't effectively deal with geometrical attacks with cropping. Image normalization is based on the moments of the image, however, in general, geometrical attacks bring the image boundary cropping and the moments are not preserved original ones. Thereafter the normalized images of before and after are not same form, i.e., the synchronization is lost. To solve the cropping problem of INW, Invariant Centroid (IC) is proposed in this paper. IC is a gravity center of a central area on a gray scale image that is invariant although an image is geometrically attacked and the only central area, which has less cropping possibility by geometrical attacks, is used for normalization. Experimental results show that the IC-based method is especially robust to geometrical attack with cropping.

  • Most existing wavelet-based multiplicative watermarking methods are affected by geometric attacks to a certain extent. A serious limitation of wavelet-based multiplicative watermarking is its sensitivity to rotation, scaling, and translation. In this study, we propose an image watermarking method by using dual-tree complex wavelet transform with a multi-objective optimization approach. We embed the watermark information into an image region with a high entropy value via a multiplicative strategy. The major contribution of this work is that the trade-off between imperceptibility and robustness is simply solved by using the multi-objective optimization approach, which applies the watermark error probability and an image quality metric to establish a multi-objective optimization function. In this manner, the optimal embedding factor obtained by solving the multi-objective function effectively controls watermark strength. For watermark decoding, we adopt a maximum likelihood decision criterion. Finally, we evaluate the performance of the proposed method by conducting simulations on benchmark test images. Experiment results demonstrate the imperceptibility of the proposed method and its robustness against various attacks, including additive white Gaussian noise, JPEG compression, scaling, rotation, and combined attacks.

  • Video fingerprints generated from global features are usually vulnerable against general geometric transformations. In this paper, a novel video fingerprinting algorithm is proposed, in which a new spatio-temporal gradient is designed to represent the spatial and temporal information for each frame, and a new partition scheme, based on concentric circle and rings, is developed to resist the attacks efficiently. The centroids of spatio-temporal gradient orientations (CSTGO) within the circle and rings are then calculated to generate a robust fingerprint. Our experiments with different attacks have demonstrated that the proposed approach outperforms the state-of-the-art methods in terms of robustness and discrimination.

  • In this paper, a robust watermarking scheme is proposed that uses the scale-invariant feature transform (SIFT) algorithm in the discrete wavelet transform (DWT) domain. First, the SIFT feature areas are extracted from the original image. Then, one level DWT is applied on the selected SIFT feature areas. The watermark is embedded by modifying the fractional portion of the horizontal or vertical, high-frequency DWT coefficients. In the watermark extracting phase, the embedded watermark can be directly extracted from the watermarked image without requiring the original cover image. The experimental results showed that the proposed scheme obtains the robustness to both signal processing and geometric attacks. Also, the proposed scheme is superior to some previous schemes in terms of watermark robustness and the visual quality of the watermarked image.

  • In this paper, we proposed a robust watermark scheme for image based on SVD(Singular Value Transform) and Triplet. First, the original image is decomposed by using 3-level DWT, and then used the singular values changed for embedding and extracting of the watermark sequence in LL3 band. Since the matrix of singular values is not easily altered with various signal processing noises, the embedded watermark sequence has the ability to withstand various signal processing noise attacks. Nevertheless, this method does not guarantee geometric transformation(such as rotation, cropping, etc.) because the geometric transformation changes the matrix size. In this case, the watermark sequence cannot be extracted. To compensate for the above weaknesses, a method which uses the triplet for embedding a barcode image watermark in the middle of frequency band is proposed. In order to generate the barcode image watermark, the pattern of the watermark sequence embedded in a LL3 band is used. According to this method, the watermark information can be extracted from attacked images.

  • In this paper, we propose a robust watermarking method against geometric attack even though the watermarked image is partially damaged. This method consists of standard image normalization which transforms any image into a predefined standard image and embedding watermark in DCT domain of standard normalized image using spread spectrum technique. The proposed standard image normalization method has an improvement over existing image normalization method, so it is robust to partial damage and geometric attack. The watermark embedding method using spread spectrum technique also has a robustness to image losses such as blurring, sharpening and compressions. In addition, the proposed watermarking method does not need an original image to detect watermark, so it is useful to public watermarking applications. Several experimental results show that the proposed watermarking method is robust to partial damage and various attacks including geometric deformation.

  • This paper proposes a blind watermarking scheme using DWT satisfying robustness, invisibility, and security to protect the ownership of digital image contents. This scheme does not determine any watermarking position by local image information. It rather inserts the watermark information into all the four lowest frequency subbands after transforming the host image by n-level 2-dimensional DWT, depending on, the sizes of the host image and the watermark data. Its watermark insertion methodology uses some weighting factors according to the kind of the subband and its energy level to adjust the invisibility and the robustness of the watermark. This method is experimented for various pixel-value change attacks and geometric attacks with various images having different resolutions and aspect ratios. With the experimental results and by comparing with existing methods, we show that the proposed method has a great deal of general usage with good watermark invisibility and good robustness against attacks.

  • Today, buildings are exposed to the effects such as explosion and impact loads. Usually, explosion and impact loads that act on the buildings such as nuclear power plants, airports, defense industry and military facilities, can occur occasionally on the normal buildings because of some reasons like drop weight impacts, natural gas system explosions, and terrorist attacks. Therefore, it has become important to examine the behavior of reinforced concrete (RC) structures under impact loading. Development of computational mechanics has facilitated the modeling of such load conditions. In this study, three kinds of RC walls that have different geometric forms (square, ellipse, and circle) and used in guardhouses with same usage area were modeled with Abaqus finite element software. The three configurations were subjected to the same impact energy to determine the geometric form that gives the best behavior under the impact loading. As a result of the analyses, the transverse impact forces and failure modes of RC walls under impact loading were obtained. Circular formed (CF) reinforced concrete wall which has same impact resistance in each direction had more advantages. Nonetheless, in the case of the impact loading occurring in the major axis direction of the ellipse (EF-1), the elliptical formed reinforced concrete wall has higher impact resistance.

  • Watermarking algorithm for 3D mesh model using EGI distribution of each patch is proposed. The proposed algorithm divides a 3D mesh model into 6 patches to have the robustness against the partial geometric deformation. Plus, it uses EGI distributions as the consistent factor that has the robustness against the topological deformation. To satisfy both geometric and topological deformation, the same watermark bits for each subdivided patch are embedded by changing the mesh normal vectors. Moreover, the proposed algorithm does not need not only the original mesh model but also the resampling process to extract the watermark. Experimental results verify that the proposed algorithm is imperceptible and robust against geometrical and topological attacks.

  • Recently, the medical imaging field has been digitalized by the development of computer science and digitization of the medical devices. There are needs of the medical imaging database service and long term storage today because of the installation of PACS system following DICOM standards, telemedicine and etc. and ,also, the illegal distortion of the medical information, data authentication and copyright are being happened. In this paper, we propose watermarking technique as a method which can protect private informations and medical imaging from geometric distortion. Because many watermarks for images are sensitive to geometric distortion, we present a algorithm that is insensitive to RST distortion in medical image. we observed the robustness against several of the signal processing and attacks in medical imaging field by embedding watermark after making a region which is insensitive to RST distortion by using FFT and LPM transformation.
