The concept of virtual synchronous generators (VSGs) is a valuable means for improving the frequency stability of microgrids (MGs). However, a great virtual inertia in a VSG's controller may cause power oscillation, thereby deteriorating system stability. In this study, a small-signal model of an MG with two paralleled VSGs is established, and a control strategy for maintaining a constant inertial time with an increasing active-frequency droop coefficient (m) is proposed on the basis of a root locus analysis. The power oscillation is suppressed by adjusting virtual synchronous reactance, damping coefficient, and load frequency coefficient under the same inertial time constant. In addition, the dynamic load distribution is sensitive to the controller parameters, especially under the parallel operation of VSGs with different capacities. Therefore, an active power increment method is introduced to improve the precision of active power sharing in dynamic response. Simulation and experimental is used to verify the theoretical analysis findings.

This paper reviews recent developments and applications of dielectric elastomers (DEs) and suggests various techniques to improve DE properties. DEs as smart materials are a variety of electro-active polymers (EAPs) that convert electrical energy into mechanical energy and cause a large deformation when a voltage is applied. The dielectric constant, modulus, and dielectric loss of DEs determine the efficiency of deformation. Among these, the dielectric constant significantly affects their performance. Therefore, various recent approaches to improve the dielectric constant are reviewed, including the enhancement of polarization, introduction of microporous structures in the matrix, and introduction of ferroelectric fillers. Furthermore, the basic principles of DEs are examined, as well as their various applications such as actuators, generators, sensors, and artificial muscles.
In this paper, a grid connected microgrid with multiple inverter-based distributed generators (DGs) is considered. DG in FFC mode regulates the microgrid as a controllable load from the utility point of view as long as its output is within the capacity limit. The transition mode causes a change in frequency of microgrid due to the loss of power transferred between main grid and microgrid. Frequency deviation from the nominal value can exceed the limit if the loss of power is large enough. This paper presents a coordinated control method for inverter-based DGs so that the microgrid is always regulated as a constant load from the utility viewpoint during grid connected mode, and the frequency deviation in the transition mode is minimized. DGs can share the load by changing their control modes between UPC and FFC and stabilize microgrid during transition.
Many years ago, most of thermal power plants built in this country were of subcritical pressure, of medium or small size, of constant pressure operations and of drum type steam generators with circulation type boilers. But, nowadays almost all of them were of high efficiency, of supercritical pressure, of big capacity, of sliding pressure operations, and of once through type steam generators. Presently built once through boilers introduce turbine bypass systems to variable pressure operation which eliminates unexpected materials in boiler tube during startup, minimizes fuel loss by short startup period and eventually improve both total efficiency and power system stability.

This paper proposes a maximum output power control of grid-connected wind power generation system using cage-type induction generators. For generator control, indirect vector control is used, where d-axis current controls the excitation level and q-axis current controls the generator speed. The generated power flows into the utility through the grid-side converter, by which the do link voltage is controlled to be constant and the ac current is controlled in sinusoid and. The generator speed is adjusted according to wind speed for extracting maximum power generation. Experimental results are shown to verify the validity of the proposed scheme.
In this paper, we establish the existence and uniqueness of the solution for a class of reflected backward stochastic differential equations with time delayed generator (RBSDEs with time delayed generator, in short) in the case when the terminal value and the obstacle process are $L^p$-integrable with p ${\in}$]1, 2[ for a sufficiently small Lipschitz constant of the generator and the time horizon T.
This paper presents a constant power controller for doubly-fed. Induction generators used in wind turbines. When the stator side of the generator is connected to the grid, the generated power depends on the rotor current. To control the rotor current based on it's average value, a cost effective SPC (Slip Power Controller) was developed and is ready for testing with an actual 660KW generator system. Experiment results are presented and discussed.
Human power is not dependent on other energy sources, but rather is a source of power for ourselves. Human power, the cleanest energy in the world, can be our future. Therefore, we should be interested in sustainable alternative energy. This paper solves the uneven power generation by utilizing the energy storage capability of the flywheel. Therefore, it improved the efficiency by 5% compared to the existing generation method. DC generators produce power at variable speed operation. The constant voltage was generated from the DC-DC converter to the duty ratio control. Therefore, the charging efficiency is improved by 5% by the constant voltage charging of the battery. And it can suppress the decrease of the output due to the circulation current due to the deviation of the output voltage in parallel operation of the pedal generator.
Modern steam turbine generators are being built as a higher power and larger system, experiencing more frequent starts and stops of operation due to a constant change of power demands. Hence, they are inevitably more vulnerable to various vibrations, and more often exposed to the danger of sudden vibration accidents than ever before. Even under the circumstances, in order to secure the system reliability of steampower plants and there by to supply safely the public electricity, it is important to prevent a sudden vibration accident in one hand and even when it happens, to raise an operating efficiency of the plants throught swift and precise treatments in the other. In this study, an interactive vibration diagnostic system has been developed to make the on-site vibration diagnosis of steam turbine generators possible and convenient, utilizing a note-book PC. For this purpose, at first the principal vibration phenomena, such as various unbalance and unstable vibrations as well as rubbing, misalignment, and shaft crack vibrations, have been systematically classified as grouped parameters of vibration frequencies, amplitudes, phases, rotating speeds at the time of accident, and operating conditions or condition changes. A new complex vibration diagnostic table has been constructed from the causal relations between the characteristic parameters and the principal vibration phenomena. Then, the diagnostic system has been developed to screen and issue the corresponding vibration phenomena by assigning to each user-selected combination of characteristic parameters a unique characteristic vector and comparing this vector with a diagnostic vector of each vibration phenomenon based on the constructed diagnostic table. Moreover, the diagnostic system has a logic whose diagnosis may be performed successfully by inputing only some of the corresponding characteristic parameters without having to input all the parameters. The developed diagnostic system has been applied to perform the diagnosis of several real cases of steam turbine vibration accidents. And the results have been quite satisfactory.

Steam generators (S/G) of pressurized water reactors are large heat exchangers that use the heat from the primary reactor coolant to make steam in the secondary side for driving turbine generators. Reciprocating sliding wear experiments have been performed to examine the wear properties of Incoloy 800 and Inconel 690 steam generator tubes in high temperature water. In present study, the test rig was designed to examine the reciprocating and rolling wear properties in high temperature (room temperature - $300^{\circ}C$) water. The test was performed at constant applied load and sliding distance to investigate the effect of test temperature on wear properties of steam generator tube materials. To investigate the wear mechanism of material, the worn surfaces were observed using scanning electron microscopy. At $290^{\circ}C$, wear rate of Inconel 690 was higher than that of Incoloy 800. It was assumed to be resulted from the oxide layer property difference due to the a\loy composition difference. Between 25 and $150^{\circ}C$ the wear loss increased with increasing temperature. Beyond $150^{\circ}C$, the wear loss decreased with increasing temperature. The wear loss change with temperature were due to the formation of wear protective oxide layer. From the worn surface observation, texture patterns and wear particle layers were found. As test temperature increased, the proportion of particle layer increased.
