DAF 공정에서 부상속도 향상을 위한 플럭형성 조건 평가 (Evaluation of Floc Formation Conditions for Increasing Flotation Velocity in DAF Process)

  • Dissolved air flotation is a solid-liquid separation system that uses fine bubbles rising from bottom to remove particles in water. In order to enhance the flotation velocity and removal efficiency of flocs in the flotation process, we tried to obtain pretreatment conditions for the optimum DAF process operation by comparing and evaluating features of actual floc formation and flotation velocity etc, according to coagulant types and conditions for flocculation mixing intensity by using PIA, PDA, and FSA. Accordingly, generating big flocs that have low density at low flocculation mixing intensity may reduce treatment efficiency. In addition, generating small flocs at high flocculation mixing intensity makes floc-bubbles smaller, which reduces flotation velocity, In this study, it was found that high flocculation mixing intensity could not remove the remaining micro-particles after flocculation, which had negative effects on treated water quality, Therefore, in order to enhance treatment efficiency in a flotation process, flocculation mixing intensity around $50sec^{-1}$ is effective.

  • The purpose of this study is to estimate efficiency of environmental-friendly agricultural product by using Data Envelopment Analysis. A proposed method employs a bootstrapping approach to generating efficiency estimates through Monte Carlo simulation resampling process. The technical efficiency, pure technical efficiency, and scale efficiency measure of strawberry by pesticide-free certification is 0.967, 0.995, 0.968 respectively. However those of bias-corrected estimates are 0.918, 0.983, 0.934. We know that the DEA estimator is an upward biased estimator. In technical efficiency, average lower and upper confidence bounds of 0.807 and 0.960. According to these results, the DEA bootstrapping model used here provides bias-corrected and confidence intervals for the point estimates, it is more preferable.

시설수박의 출하시기별 효율성 분석 (An Analysis of the Efficiency of Watermelon Using the Bootstrapping DEA Model)

  • The paper aims to estimate efficiency of watermelon by using a bootstrapping approach to generating efficiency estimates through Monte Carlo simulation resampling process. We use the input-output data for watermelon 107 farmers. The main results are as follows. The estimates of efficiency depends on the methodology. The estimates of general DEA is greater than the bootstrapping method. The technical efficiency and pure technical efficiency measure of watermelon is 0.72, 0.82 respectively. However the bias-corrected estimates are less than those of DEA. We know that the DEA estimator is an upward biased estimator. According to these results, the DEA bootstrapping model used here provides bias-corrected and confidence intervals for the point estimates, it is more preferable.

  • 본 논문에서는 대용량의 계통연계형 태양광발전시스템의 효율 개선을 위한 제어 알고리즘을 제안한다. 제안된 알고리즘은 태양전지로부터 생산되는 전체 전력량을 모니터링 하여 최대 효율 조건에서 동작할 수 있도록 구동시킬 인버터 수와 각 인버터가 담당할 전력량을 결정하고 이에 따른 태양전지의 직병렬 결합 조건이 가능하도록 태양전지의 배열을 릴레이 접점으로 재구성하는 방식이다. 제안된 알고리즘의 타당성 검증을 위해 LabVIEW 기반의 제어시스템을 구성하고 분석한다.

  • This study was performed to develop necessary Visual Inspection System for the PSC Bridges precision safety diagnosis which to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of visual inspection by using mobile PC and adopted IT. This system was constructed to the automatic visual inspection map generating program and the Visual Inspection System using mobile PC that predicted high efficiency.

  • This paper has been studied on wafer cleaning and photoresist striping in semiconductor fabrication processes using ozone solved deionized water. In this work, we have developed high concentration ozone generating system and high contact ratio ozone solving system to get high efficiency DIO$_3$. Through this study, we obtained 11% ozone gas concentration, 99.5% of ozone efficiency and 51% of solubility in deionized water.

  • Since the birth of Dolly using fully differentiated somatic cells as a nuclear donor, viable clones were generated successfully in many mammalian species. These achievements in animal cloning demonstrate developmental potential of terminally differentiated somatic cells. At the same time, the somatic cell nuclear transfer (SCNT) technique provides the opportunities to study basic and applied biosciences. However, the efficiency generating viable offsprings by SCNT remains extremely low. There are several explanations why cloned embryos cannot fully develop into viable animals and what factors affect developmental potency of reconstructed embryos by the SCNT technique. The most critical and persuasive explanation for inefficiency in SCNT cloning is incomplete genomic reprogramming, such as DNA methylation and histone modification. Numerous studies on genomic reprogramming demonstrated that incorrect DNA methylation and aberrant epigenetic reprogramming are considerably correlated with abnormal development of SCNT cloned embryos even though its mechanism is not fully understood. The SCNT technique is useful in cloning farm animals because pluripotent stem cells are not established in farm animal species. Therapeutic cloning combined with genetic manipulation will help to control various human diseases. Also, the SCNT technique provides a chance to overcome excessive demand for the organs by production of transgenic animals as xenotransplantation resources. Here, we describe the factors affecting the efficiency of generating cloned farm animals by the SCNT technique and discuss future directions of animal cloning by SCNT to improve the cloning efficiency.

Neural Network Tuning of the 2-DOF PID Controller With a Combined 2-DOF Parameter For a Gas Turbine Generating Plant

  • The purpose of Introducing a combined cycle with gas turbine in power plants is to reduce losses of energy, by effectively using exhaust gases from the gas turbine to produce additional electricity or process. The efficiency of a combined power plant with the gas turbine increases, exceeding 50%, while the efficiency of traditional steam turbine plants is approximately 35% to 40%. Up to the present time, the PID controller has been used to operate this system. However, it is very difficult to achieve an optimal PID gain without any experience, since the gain of the PID controller has to be manually tuned by trial and error procedures. This paper focuses on the neural network tuning of the 2-DOF PID controller with a combined 2-DOF parameter (NN-Tuning 2-DOF PID controller), for optimal control of the Gun-san gas turbine generating plant in Seoul, Korea. In order to attain optimal control, transfer function and operating data from start-up, running, and stop procedures of the Gun-san gas turbine have been acquired and a designed controller has been applied to this system. The results of the NN-Tuning 2-DOF PID are compared with the PID controller and the conventional 2-DOF PID controller tuned by the Ziegler-Nichols method through experimentation. The experimental results of the NN-Tuning 2-DOF PID controller represent a more satisfactory response than those of the previously-mentioned two controllers.

  • In this paper, the disk-type piezoelectric transformer for the high power was investigated with the variation of road resistance. The diameter and thickness of a disk-type piezoelectric transformer was 50mm and 4.5mm, respectively. The piezoelectric transformer was composed to PZT-PMN-PSN. The ratio of driving electrode and generating electrode ranges from 1.4:1 to 3:1. The poling direction of driving part and generating part are the same. A voltage step-up ratio increased with increasing the load resistance, $R_L$, so it reached 60 times under no road resistance. also, the maximum efficiency of 97% was obtained.

  • 쿼드-틸트프롭(QTP) 무인기의 직렬-하이브리드 방식 동력시스템을 설계하고 특성을 분석하였다. 동력시스템은 4.5kW급 로터리엔진-발전기 장치를 기본으로 리튬-배터리를 동력원으로 사용하며, 동력제어기가 비행체가 필요로 하는 전체적인 동력을 제어하고 공급한다. 엔진의 출력은 발전기 구동 및 발전 효율과 배터리의 충전과 방전에 따른 손실을 고려하여 발전기 성능과 매칭된다. 배터리에 저장된 에너지와 통합 제어해서 전체적인 연료소모율을 최소화하도록 엔진-발전기의 정속(Constant Speed) 운용개념이 적용되며, 결과적으로 배터리의 용량과 특성, 그리고 충전과 방전 사이클이 효율 향상에 중요한 요소로 작용할 수 있다.
