A Cryptography Algorithm using Telescoping Series (망원급수를 이용한 암호화 알고리즘)

  • In Information Technology era, various amazing IT technologies, for example Big Data, are appearing and are available as the amount of information increase. The number of counselling for violation of personal data protection is also increasing every year that it amounts to over 160,000 in 2012. According to Korean Privacy Act, in the case of treating unique personal identification information, appropriate measures like encipherment should be taken. The technologies of encipherment are the most basic countermeasures for personal data invasion and the base elements in information technology. So various cryptography algorithms exist and are used for encipherment technology. Therefore studies on safer new cryptography algorithms are executed. Cryptography algorithms started from classical replacement enciphering and developed to computationally secure code to increase complexity. Nowadays, various mathematic theories such as 'factorization into prime factor', 'extracting square root', 'discrete lognormal distribution', 'elliptical interaction curve' are adapted to cryptography algorithms. RSA public key cryptography algorithm which was based on 'factorization into prime factor' is the most representative one. This paper suggests algorithm utilizing telescoping series as a safer cryptography algorithm which can maximize the complexity. Telescoping series is a type of infinite series which can generate various types of function for given value-the plain text. Among these generated functions, one can be selected as a original equation. Some part of this equation can be defined as a key. And then the original equation can be transformed into final equation by improving the complexity of original equation through the command of "FullSimplify" of "Mathematica" software.

Obstacle Detection for Unmanned Ground Vehicle on Uneven Terrain (비평지용 무인차량을 위한 장애물 탐지)

  • We propose an obstacle detection algorithm for unmanned ground vehicle on uneven terrain. The key ideas of the proposed algorithm are the use of two-layer laser range data to calculate the gradient of a target, which is characterized as either ground or obstacles. The proposed obstacle detection algorithm includes 4-steps: 1) Obtain the distance data for each angle from multiple lidars or a multi-layer scan lidar. 2) Calcualate the gradient for each angle of the uneven terrain. 3) Determine ground or obstacle for each angle on the basis of reference gradient. 4) Generate a new distance data for each angle for a virtual laser scanner. The proposed algorithm is verified by various experiments.

Effect of the Signal-to-Noise Power Spectra Ratio On MTF compensated EOC images

  • EOC (Electro-Optical Camera) of KOMPSAT-1 (Korea Multi-Purpose SATellite) has been producing land imageries of the world since January 2000. After image data are acquired by EOC, they are transmitted from satellite to ground via X-band RF signal. Then, EOC image data are generated and pass through radiometric and geometric corrections to generate standard products of EOC images. After radiometric correction on EOC image data, Modulation Transfer Function (MTF) compensation is applicable on EOC images with user's request for better image quality. MTF compensation is concerned with filtering EOC images to minimize the effect of degradations. For Image Receiving and Processing System (IRPE) at KOMPSAT Ground Station (KGS), Wiener filter is used in MTF compensation for EOC images. If the Pointing Spread Function (PSF) of EOC system is known, signal-to-noise power spectra ratio is the only factor in the determination of Wiener filter. In this paper, MTF compensation in IRPE at KGS is introduced and MTF compensated EOC 1R images are generated using Wiener filters with various signal-to-noise power spectra ratios. MTF compensated EOC 1R images are correlated with EOC 1R images for observing linearities between them. As a result, the effect of signal-to-noise power spectra ratio is shown on MTF compensated EOC 1R images.

Development of Aerosol Retrieval Algorithm Over Ocean Using FY-1C/1D Data

  • This study proposes a single-channel satellite remote sensing algorithm for retrieving aerosol optical thickness over global ocean using FY-1C/1D data. An efficient lookup table (LUT)method is adopted in this algorithm to generate apparent reflectance in channel 1 and channel 2 of FY-1C/1D over ocean. The algorithm scale the apparent reflectance in cloud-free conditions to aerosol optical thickness using a state-of-art radiative transfer model 6S with input of the relative spectral response of channel 1 and 2 of FY-1C/1D. Monthly mean composite maps of the aerosol optical thickness have been obtained from FY-1C/1D global area coverage data between 2001 and 2003. Aerosol optical thickness maps can show the major aerosol source which are located off the west coast of northern and southern Africa, Arabian Sea and India Ocean. These result is very similar to other satellite sensors such as AVHRR and MODIS in the location area of heavy aerosol optical thickness over global ocean. The algorithm have been used to FY-1D operational performance and it is the first operational aerosol remote sensing product in China.

  • In recent, the contactless IC card is widely used in traffic, access control system and so forth. Contactless smart cards use a technology that enables card readers to provide power for transactions and communications without making physical contact with the cards. Usually electromagnetic signal is used for communication between the card and the reader. Contactless card is highly suitable for large quantity of card access and data transaction. And its use becomes a general tendency more and more because of the development of RF technology and improvement of requirement for user convenience. This paper describes the hardware module to process contactless protocol for implementation contactless IC card. And the hardware module consists of specific digital logic circuits that analyze digital signal from analog circuit and then generate data & status signal for CPU, and that convert the data from CPU into digital signal for analog circuit.

Acceptance of Social Media as a Marketing Tool : A Quantitative Study

  • Purpose - The purpose of current paper is to identify features of advertisements at social media that generate the ad-click and to further identify if these advertisements lead to purchase. If no purchase is made, then reasons for not making purchase are identified. Users' purchase experience after users clicked at advertisements are also studied. Research design, data, and methodology - Research design followed is exploratory research, where various factors leading to ad-clicks and generating purchase at social media platform were explored. Raw data was gathered by means of survey among a sample of 185 respondents in India using online structured questionnaire. GLM model and multinomial regression were used to analyze the data. Results - Several factors including endorsement by friends, advertisement aesthetics, product reviews, and aggressive pricing played major role in generating ad-clicks. Major impediment to purchase on were product misrepresentation in advertisement, false discounts, and site security. Female users clicked more on social media advertisements and made more purchases compared to their male counterpart. Conclusions - Social media advertisements have significant positive effect on buying behavior of online customers. Transactions culminating from social media ad-click generated significant positive experience for social media users. Thus, social media can be effective marketing tool.

Fuzzy Logic Modeling and Its Application to A Walking-Beam Reheating Furnace

  • A fuzzy modeling method is proposed to build the dynamic model of a walking-beam reheating furnace from the recorded data. In the proposed method, the number of membership function on each variable is increased individually and the modeling accuracy is evaluated iteratively. When the modeling accuracy is satisfied, the membership functions on each variable are fixed and the structure of fuzzy model is determined. Because the training data is limited, in this process, as the number of membership function increase, it is highly possible that some rules are missing, i.e., no data in the training set corresponds to the consequent part of a missing rule. To complete the rulebase, the output of the model constructed at the previous step is used to generate the consequent part of the missing rules. Finally, in the real time application, a rolling update scheme to rulebase is introduced to compensate the change of system dynamics and fine tune the rulebase. The proposed method is verified by the application to the modeling of a reheating furnace.

MTF compensated EOC images are compared with original EOC 1R images to observe correlations between them. As a result, the effect of SNR power spectra ratio on MTF compensated EOC images is shown.

A Study On Component Map Generation Of A Gas Turbine Engine Using Genetic Algorithms (유전자 알고리즘을 이용한 가스터빈 엔진의 구성품 성능선도 생성에 관한 연구)

  • In this study, a component map generation method using experimental data and the genetic algorithms are newly proposed. In order to generate the performance map for components of this engine, after obtaining engine performance data through many experimental tests, and then the third order equations which have relationships the mass flow function the pressure ratio and the isentropic efficiency as to the engine rotational speed were derived by using the genetic algorithms. A steady-state performance analysis was peformed with the generated maps of the compressor by the commercial gas turbine performance analysis program GASTURB(1). In comparison, it was found that the component maps can be generated from the experimental test data by using the genetic algorithms, and it was confirmed that the analysis results using the generated maps were very similar to those using the scaled maps from the GASTURB.

  • As mass data service like internet broadcasting and VOD is used widely, network traffic is increasing rapidly. In order to resolve this service delay caused by mass network traffic data, various techniques are tried. MPLS, as one of these techniques, supports network extensibility and high speed routing. But it generate delay while waiting to set the LSP from input node to output node. In order to resolve these delay Problems, this Paper Propose different label assign technic according to the hop count between input node and output node when data has to go through MPLS domain. The simulation results show that delay reduction was gained when the proposed technique is applied.
