  • We propose some new iterative methods for solving the generalized variational inequalities where the underlying operator T is monotone. These methods may be viewed as projection-type meth-ods. Convergence of these methods requires that the operator T is only monotone. The methods and the proof of the convergence are very simple. The results proved in this paper also represent a signif-icant improvement and refinement of the known results.

  • The performance of the improvement method of spatial resolution for satellite images based on the generalized inverse matrix is superior to the conventional methods. But, this method calculates the coefficient values for extracting the spatial information from the relation between a small pixel and large pixels. Accordingly it has the problem of remaining the blocky patterns at the result image. In this paper, a new generalized inverse matrix method is proposed which is different in the calculation method of coefficient values for extracting the spatial information. In this proposed metod, it calculates the coefficient values for extracting the spatial information from the relation between a small pixel and small pixels. Consequently it can improve the spatial resolution more efficiently without remaining the blocky patterns at the result image. The effectiveness of the proposed method is varified by simulation experiments with real TM image data.

  • In this paper, we suggest and analyze some new classes of three step iterative algorithms for solving generalized quasivariational inclusions by using the properties of proximal maps. Our results include the Ishikawa, Mann iterations for solving variational inclusions(inequalities) as special cases. The results obtained in this paper represent an improvement and significant refinement of previously known results [3, 5-8, 10, 14-18].

  • In this paper, we introduce and consider a new system of generalized variational inequalities involving five different operators. Using the sunny nonexpansive retraction technique we suggest and analyze some new explicit iterative methods for this system of variational inequalities. We also study the convergence analysis of the new iterative method under certain mild conditions. Our results can be viewed as a refinement and improvement of the previously known results for variational inequalities.

  • In this paper we introduced a new score generating function for the rank dispersion function in a multiple linear model. Based on the new score function, we derived the asymptotic relative efficiency, ARE(11, rs), of our score function with respect to the Wilcoxon scores for the generalized F distributions which show very flexible distributions with a variety of shape and tail behaviors. We thoroughly explored the selection of r and s of our new score function that provides improvement over the Wilcoxon scores.

  • Objectives This case study aimed to report the improvement of stress-induced generalized primary hyperhidrosis of Soyangin patient. Methods Soyangin patient suffering from daylong generalized primary hyperhidrosis was treated with acupuncture, psychological counseling, and herbal medicine. The severity of hyperhidrosis was measured using Visual Analog Scale (VAS). Results & Conclusions After treatment with Tae-Geuk acupuncture, Dojeokganggi-tang, and psychological counseling, the VAS score of hyperhidrosis was reduced from 10 to 2 during three days of admission. Herbal medicine was prescribed for 30 more days after discharge. The relieved state was maintained when monitored after two months. This case report proposes the potential of Sasang constitutional medicine for stress-induced generalized primary hyperhidrosis.

  • The prediction of the inelastic behavior of the structure is an essential part of reliability assessment procedure, because most of the failures are induced by the inelastic deformation, such as creep and plastic deformation. During decades, there has been much progress in understanding of the inelastic behavior of the materials and a lot of inelastic constitutive equations have been developed. These equations consist of the definition of inelastic strain and the evolution of the state variables introduced to quantify the irreversible processes occurred in the material. With respect to the definition of the inelastic strain, the inelastic constitutive models can be categorized into elastoplastic model, unified viscoplastic model and separated viscoplastic model and the different integration methods have been applied to each category. In the present investigation, the generalized integration method applicable for various types of constitutive equations is developed and implemented into ABAQUS by means of UMAT subroutine. The solution of the non-linear system of algebraic equations arising from time discretization with the generalized midpoint rule is determined using line-search technique in combination with Newton method. The strategy to control the time increment for the improvement of the accuracy of the numerical integration is proposed. Several numerical examples are considered to demonstrate the efficiency and applicability of the present method. • In this paper we derived the asymptotic relative efficiency, ARE(ms, rs), of our new score function with respect to the McKean and Sievers scores for the asymmetric error distributions which often occur in practice. We thoroughly explored the asymptotic relative efficiency, ARE(ms, rs), of our score function that provides much improvement over the McKean and Sievers scores for all values of r and s under asymmetric distributions.

  • To construct user profiles automatically, an extraction method for representative keywords from a set of documents is needed. In our previous works, we suggested such a method and showed its usefulness. Here, we apply it to the classification problem and observe how much it contributes to performance improvement. The method can be used as a linear document classifier with few modifications. So, we first evaluate its performance for that case. The method is also applicable to some non-linear classification methods such as GIS (Generalized Instance Set). In GIS algorithm, generalized instances are built from training documents by a generalization function and then the K-NN algorithm is applied to them, where the method can be used as a generalization function. For comparative works, two famous linear classification methods, Rocchio and Widrow-Hoff algorithms, are also used. Experimental results show that our method is better than the others for the case that only positive documents are considered, but not when negative documents are considered together.

  • The Korean defence industry has grown rapidly since the 1970s. In 2015, it generated more than 168 billion won in economic revenue, and exports exceeded 3.6 billion won. With the development of the defense industry, the level of the quality management system for major contractors has improved substantially, but there are many areas of the quality management system that still need improvement for small subcontractors. Therefore, in this paper, we develop a methodology to improve the quality management system for small subcontractors. Based on 101 collected cases, this methodology results in generally improved effects and generally improved methods. By applying the Russian Theory of Inventive Problem Solving (TRIZ) concept of a contradiction matrix, three improvement matrices are derived. A developed improvement matrix is the main support tool of this methodology. This methodology consists of four tasks and eight subtasks, and it can be used as a support tool for creative problem solving by the quality assurance department and the quality assurance manager for small subcontractors.
