Using data from the 2001 American Housing Survey, the purpose of this study is to profile the economic and socio-demographic characteristics of baby boomers according to housing down payment sources and to identify determinants of housing down payment sources among baby boomers. Results of the multinomial logistic regression analysis indicated that household income, housing value, age, education, gender, marital status, race, and geographic region were all significant determinants of housing down payment sources among baby boomers. Identification of factors affecting the occurrence of borrowing for housing down payment would aid in the development of financial education programs for baby boomer households.
Today interdisciplinary collaboration is an important component of clinical research. This paper focuses on how the University of Washington School of Nursing (UW-SON) Center for Women's Health and Gender Research (CWHGR) facilitated and sustained interdisciplinary research. The CWHGR funded by National Institutes of Nursing Research has been an important resource for the UW-SON since its inception in 1989. The CWHGR encourages interdisciplinary collaborative research by providing small grant funds, mentoring faculty and pre- and postdoctoral fellows, providing consultation to researchers in other disciplines, and creating a model of biobehavioral and sociocultural research collaboration that facilitates interdisciplinary research. A brief overview of the UW-SON CWHGR is provided as well as identification of barriers to interdisciplinary research.

This study aimed to discuss mental health services for children and adolescents that are being implemented as initiatives of the Korean government and to review the functions and roles of these projects during the COVID-19 pandemic. Three government departments are in charge of providing mental health services for children and adolescents: Ministry of Education, Ministry of Gender Equality and Family, and Ministry of Health and Welfare. The Ministry of Education has implemented several policies to facilitate the early detection of mental health issues among school students (from preventive interventions to selective interventions for high-risk students). The Ministry of Gender Equality and Family additionally serves out-of-school children and adolescents by facilitating early identification of adolescents in crises and providing temporary protection or emergency assistance (as required) through the Community Youth Safety-Net Project. Furthermore, the Ministry of Health and Welfare operates relevant mental health agencies for individuals of all ages including children and adolescents. Any high-risk students who have been screened through the projects of the Ministry of Education are supported through referrals to the following institutions for appropriate treatment of their symptoms: specialized hospitals, the Youth Counseling and Welfare Center operated by the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family, the National Youth Healing Center, the Mental Health Welfare Center operated by the Ministry of Health and Welfare, the Suicide Prevention Center, and the Child Welfare Center. To assist students who are facing any psychological difficulties because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Ministry of Education has established a psychiatric support group for providing emergency mental health care; furthermore, schools are promoting psychological surveillance (e.g., provision of non-face-to-face counseling services that are centered around the Wee Center). The Ministry of Education, Ministry of Gender Equality and Family, and Ministry of Health and Welfare have provided varied mental health support services in order to address the challenges faced by children and adolescents during the pandemic. Nevertheless, the mental health services operated by each ministry do show some limitations because their service provision system is insufficiently collaborative. The present study discussed the positive effects of each initiative as well as its limitations; furthermore, it suggested improvements for facilitating the healthy development of children and adolescents' mental health.
This study explored the phenomenon of heterosexual women embracing Boys' Love manga within the heteronormativity context from a feminist psychological perspective. Specifically, the issue of genre characteristics of Boys' Love manga, women's psychological mechanism of reading Boys' Love manga, and the functions and effects of embracing Boys' Love manga were discussed. As a theoretical framework of analysis, I started from the classical psychoanalysis and critically adopted the concepts of the various camps of feminism, queer theory, and Huizinga's Homo Rudens. The results show that Boys' Love manga can be classified as a sub-category of the romance genre, which fulfills heterosexual women's desires of eternal love and equal partnership. From these wish-fulfilling fantasies, heterosexual women attempt to be decontextualized from the heteropatriarchism, to enjoy distancing and voyeuristic separation from the characters in the texts, and to disturb the dichotomous gender system through gender reversal identification. These processes, which can be regarded as a women's play challenging sexual rigorism, ultimately bring about an awareness of the female sexual subjectivity.
Background: Cancer is a major life event that imposes huge economic and mental burdens on patients and families. In addition, the diagnosis of cancer also causes significant family discordance that can lead to marital problems such as divorce or separation. The aim of this study was to investigate the association and any related gender differences between cancer diagnosis and marital disruption among cancer survivors. Materials and Methods: We used the recent cross-sectional Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey ($4^{th}$ and $5^{th}$; Years 2008-2012). The study participants were 623 married cancer survivors over the age of 19. A multivariate logistic regression analysis was conducted to estimate odds ratios. Results: After adjusting for socioeconomic status and health-related behaviors, the odds ratio of marital disruption among female cancer survivors compared with male cancer survivors was 3.94 (95%CI 1.30-11.94; p=0.02). The odds ratio of marital disruption for the below-average economic level compared with the above-average economic level was 5.64 (95%CI: 1.03-31.02; p=0.05). When compared with the non-smoking cancer survivors, the smoking cancer survivors had an OR of marital disruption equal to 2.94 (95%CI: 1.08-8.00; p=0.03). Conclusions: The findings of this study suggest that the odds of marital disruption among female cancer survivors are higher than those among their male couterparts. Medical practitioners should be sensitive to early signs of marital discord in couples affected by a cancer diagnosis. Early identification and psychosocial intervention might reduce the frequency of divorce and separation and thus improve quality of life and quality of care for cancer survivors.
Objectives : The purpose of the study is to investigate Korean scaling fear (KSF)-1.1 and related factors in scaling patients. Methods : The subjects were 314 scaling patients in 7 dental clinics in Daegu from April to June, 2013. Data were analyzed for simple frequency rate, t-test and ANOVA(Sheffes's post hoc) for the identification of the differences between KSF-1.1 and variables. Multiple regression was analyzed for the impact of independent variable on the score of KSF-1.1. Results : Mean score of KSF-1.1 in 314 scaling patients was 2.60. Female patients (2.71) had a higher score than male (2.47) (p<0.01). Those who didn't get a regular dental check up(2.87) tended to have higher fear level than those who had regular checkup (2.46) (p<0.001). Those who experienced dental pain (2.90) had significantly higher score than those who had not (2.46) (p<0.001). There was a significant difference between three groups (yes 3.03, ordinary 2.79, and no 2.42) in scaling (p<0.001) and financial burden (p<0.001). Variables associated with score of KSF-1.1 were gender(${\beta}$=0.21, p<0.05), waiting time for scaling(${\beta}$=0.24, p<0.01) and financial burden (${\beta}$=0.22, p<0.02) by multiple regression analysis. Conclusions : The influencing factors of scaling were gender, financial burden, waiting time for scaling that may effect on a score of KSF-1.1.

As a 21C core skill, computational thinking has been focused recently, and computer programming education is popular in primary and secondary schools. This paper aims to analyze the computer programming learning results based on gender difference and verify the reasons causing the difference. In this research, we focused on students' abstract thinking level as a variable and used C programming language and the RUR-PLE. Also, in this research, we focused on the concept of abstraction, one of the main component of computational thinking. And then, we analyze 587 high school students' abstract thinking level and survey them in order to find a new method for enhancing programming skill. In addition, we analyzed the causes for the difference in how the abstract thinking level applies when the students understand various structures of computer programs. From the results, we can propose a computer programming education method that enhances students' merits and compensates their drawbacks in the near future.
A simple and rapid procedure, called FoLT-PCR(Formamide Low Temperature-Polymerase Chain Reaction) was applied to amplifying DNA directly from various forensic biological evidences including human blood, saliva, hair root, or semen without any DNA preparative steps. We added washing step with non-ionic detergent, 1% Triton X-100, and used Taq DNA polymerase instead of Tth DNA polymerase to amplify 3 STR loci and gender allele simultaneouly. Optimal concentration of formamide and annealing temperature were determined empirically to 8%(v/v), and $48^{\circ}C$ respectively. We also compared this method with standard PCR.

Purpose: This study investigated the possible correlation between the mineralization of the second molars and the chronological age of a sample population of the state of Paraiba, Brazil. Materials and Methods: One thousand eight hundred fifty-four digitized panoramic images using a scanner of a private dental radiology service were obtained in six months. Of these, 457 were selected from patients aged 4.6 to 16 years who met certain criteria. The images were assessed twice by a radiologist with 5 years experience. A minimum interval of 30 days between the evaluations of the same patient was established. To analyze the relationship between chronological age, calcification level proposed by Demirjian et al in 1973, gender, and tooth, a multiple linear regression model was adjusted, taking age as the response variable (p<0.05). Results: The gender and calcification level were significantly correlated with the age of the patients (p<0.05). There was a significant difference between the average age of the patients' upper teeth compared to the lower ones in both genders (p<0.05). The dental development occurred earlier in female individuals than in male ones, and there was no significant difference between the right and left second permanent molars. Conclusion: It was observed that ethnic variables are related to certain parameters of age and sex identification in the Brazilian population, providing important information for forensic evaluations.
The purpose of this study was to extend the social teaming and imitation theory in an attempt to examine the effect of star-entertainer imitation behavior on clothing behaviors in relation to adolescents' age and gender variables. The research was a survey and the subjects were 895 adolescents in Taejon, Korea. The measuring instruments was serif-administrated questionnaire consisted of star-entertainer imitation behaviors and clothing behaviors. The collected data were analyzed using factor analysis, ANOVA, Duncan's multiple range test. Results were as fellows: 1) The results of analysing the response of star-entertainer imitation behaviors showed that adolescents had very positive attitudes and high psychological need to identify self with star-entertainers, however, their actual identification behaviors were not very noticeable because of parents' restraint and school regulations on students' appearances and clothing behaviors. 2) The results of analysing the response of clothing behaviors showed four factors such as 'fashion$.$clothing interest', 'psychological dependency on clothing' , 'clothing exhibition', and 'clothing conformity'. 3) Star-entertainer imitation behaviors had significant effects on clothing behaviors; the group with more star-entertainer imitation behaviors showed more fashion$.$clothing interest, higher psychological dependency on clothing and clothing exhibition, and lower clothing conformity than the group with less star-entertainer imitation behaviors. 4) Clothing behaviors showed the differences according as adolescents' age and gender; the female adolescents showed more fashion$.$clothing interest and clothing exhibition than male, the high school and cortege age groups showed higher psychological dependency on clothing than other age groups. It is concluded that the results of this study support social teaming and imitation theory since TV media give strong influence on the TV viewers through presenting various modeling stimuli to adolescents' lives.
