This article proposes a new technique for the reduction of vibration and noise in the geared system by adjusting the distance between gear shafts. The vibration and noise may be produced by the abnormal force applied to the tooth face. And the force may be the cause of ununiform velocity in the driven shaft. If the velocity is obtained to be uniform by adjusting the distance between shafts. the vibration and noise may be reduced to some extent. In order to review, a dynamic analysis model for the gear train used in a mill turret and a test rig are developed. The velocities in the driven shaft are calculated by dynamic simulations for the model and noises in the test rig are measured with varying of the distance between shafts. The comparison of simulation and test data shows that the distance between shafts at the most uniform velocity has the lowest level of noise.
In this study, an OTM(on-the-move) antenna which is mounted on ground vehicles and is used for mobile communication between vehicle and satellite while moving was addressed. Since LOS(line-of-sight) of antenna should direct satellite consistently while vehicle moving to guarantee high satellite communication quality, active antenna LOS stabilization is a core technology for OTM antenna. Stabilization of a satellite tracking antenna which consists of 2-DOF gimbals, an elevation gimbal over an azimuth gimbal, was considered in this study. In consideration of driving mechanism which consists of gear train and flexible driving shafts, a two-mass-system dynamic model coupled with vehicle motion was presented. An internal PI-control loop + outer PI-control loop structure has been suggested in order to damp the torsional vibration and stabilize control system. The classical pole-placement method was applied to design control gains. In addition, a vehicle motion compensation control beside of the feedback control loop has been suggested to improve LOS stabilization performances. The feasibility of the proposed control design was verified along with some experimental results.

This paper deals with a control technique of eliminating the transient vibration of a waist axis of an articulated robot. This technique is based on a model-based control in order to establish the damping effect on the mechanical part. The control model is related to the velocity control loop, and it is composed of reduced-order electrical and mechanical parts. Using this model, the velocity of the load is estimated, which is converted to the motor shaft. The difference between the estimated load speed and the motor speed is calculated dynamically, and it is added to the velocity command to suppress the transient vibration of a waist axis of the robot arm. The function of this technique is to increase the cut-off frequency of the system and the damping ratio at the driven machine part. This control model is easily obtained from design or experimental data and its algorithm can be easily installed in a DSP. This control technique is applied to a waist axis of an articulated robot composed of a harmonic drive gear reducer and a robot arm with 5 degrees of freedom. Simulations and experiments show satisfactory control results to reduce the transient vibration at the end-effector.
Even though place-marketingstrategies geared towards upgrading regional competitiveness have been brought to the forefront, due attention has not given to how to set up practical and viable strategies. Based on Geoff Coyle's ACTIFELD method, this study aims at formulating a series of implementation strategies of Jeungpyeong Place-Marketing. As the ACTIFELD technique contains intrinsic devices which would facilitate structural and systematic approach, it can easily encompass both qualitative and quantitative factors in reinterpreting complicated social phenomena and providing feasible alternatives. Furthermore, the study carries out additional public opinion surveys and expert brainstorming methods, as specific means to overcome relative weak points within the proposed ACTIFELD approach. The followings are major research findings. Firstly, in terms of maximizing existing strategies, Jeungpyeong should develop commercial items focused on Korean Ginseng and its byproducts. Secondly, among various festivals, Jeungpyeong should devise concrete processes to concurrently concentrate its support on Pork (Samgyupsal) and Korean Ginseng Festivals. Thirdly, as the majority of Jeungpyeong people prefers both do-it-your-self and traditional types, Jeungpyeong should prepare appropriate governance systems to deal with these issues. Fourthly, in order to contribute regional vitality, Jeungpyeong should strengthen public relation activities including guest-staying facilities. Lastly, Jeungpyeong should constantly improve the aggregate value of County Identity (CI)-based brands and it should also pursue production and public relation strategies actively applying the elderly.
In the gear manufacturing, tooth modification is usually applied for the prevention of tooth impact during the loading. In contrary, tooth profile error causes amplifying the whine noise which is cumbersome to reduce in the automobile gear box. So optimum quantity of the modifications must be obtained for the good performance in the vibrational sense. In this paper, a formulation to define the tooth curve by considering the profile manufacturing error and loading deformation of the gear tooth is suggested and the transmission error and loading deformation of the gear tooth is suggested and the transmission error with modified tooth in the gear system is evaluated. A pair of gear set is mathematically modelled. The equivalent excitation in the gear vibratonal model is formulated. For the experimental evaluaton on the derived transmission error function, a simple geared system is set up in which the gears are designed to give pre-designed tooth profile modification and manufactured by CNC Wire Cutting Machine. Under slow speed operaton, the transmission error of the gear pair is measured by using two rotational laser vibrometers, compared with the calculated one of which the result shows good agreement.
National territorial policies require a series of dynamic simulations, which would facilitate effectiveness measuring and forecasting works geared towards territorial policies under consideration or implementation. This paper aims at designing an integrated prototype for the proposed territorial policies. After the simulation exercises for the Ochang Industrial Complex(OIC) in Chungbuk Province, this study firstly finds meaningful mismatch phenomena between housing and population increases as the in-migration time lag seems inevitable even after the housing construction is in a mature state. Secondly, the OIC development exerts more significant impact on the number of employees than that of business units. Thirdly, in- and out-migration orders are different during the first and second stages of OIC development. That is, Chungbuk Province records the largest in terms of in-migration volume, followed by the Capital and Non-Capital Regions. Even though Chungbuk Province ranks the top position in the out-migration volume, the rank of the Capital and Non-Capital Regions is reversed: the our-migration volume towards the Non-Capital Region outruns that of the Capital Region.
Industrial accidents have been consistently increased in terms of medical costs, lost work days, and incidence rates every year in Korea. Since the infrastructure of the industry changed shifts rapidly from 1980s in the developing countries such as South Korea, the nature and magnitude of the industrial accidents have also undergone a major shift. The situation is especially severe in small-to-medium sized industry(SMI). This article reports the development of a systematic evaluation system of risk factors specifically for the SMIs. The new approach introduced by this article is geared to the systematic identification and evaluation of the injuries from power press machines using the Analytic Hierarchy Process with the key evaluation data generated and evaluated by the employees on site. A total of 21 companies was studied and surveyed using the hierarchical structures of the cause-effect relationship of the mechanical injuries and their countermeasures. For the relative weighting of each risk factor, separate questionnaire survey was conducted for the selected workers from each company who had worked for more than 10 years in press work. Most participants (48 out of 62) replied that human attributes were the most significant factors for mechanical injuries fellowed by administration, machine, and work environment factors. The result also showed that the self-motivated risk assessment and safety enhancement activities would be an effective and efficient way of managing the risk factors in the SMIs.
NSS (Navigation satellite system) provides the information for determining the position, velocity and time of users in real time using satellite-networking, and is classified into GNSS (Global NSS) and RNSS (Regional NSS). Although GNSS services for global users, the exactitude of provided information is dissatisfied with the degree required in modern systems such as unmanned system, autonomous navigation system for aircraft, ship and others, air-traffic control system. Especially, due to concern about the monopoly status of the countries operating it, some other countries have already considered establishing RNSS. The RNSS services for users within a specific area, however, it not only gives more precise information than those from GNSS, but also can be operated independently from the NSS of other countries. Thus, for Korean RNSS, this paper suggests the methodology to design the satellite constellation considering the regional features of Korean Peninsula. It intends to determine the orbits and the arrangement of navigation satellites for minimizing PDOP (Position dilution of precision). PGA (Parallel Genetic Algorithm) geared to solve this nonlinear optimization problem is proposed and STK (System tool kit) software is used for simulating their space flight. The PGA is composed of several GAs and iterates the process that they search the solution for a problem during the pre-specified generations, and then mutually exchange the superior solutions investigated by each GA. Numerical experiments were performed with increasing from four to seven satellites for Korean RNSS. When the RNSS was established by seven satellites, the time ratio that PDOP was measured to less than 5 (i.e. better than 'Good' level on the meaning of the PDOP value) was found to 94.3% and PDOP was always kept at 10 or less (i.e. better than 'Moderate' level).
This paper describes an intelligent ankle assistive robot which provides assistive power to reduce ankle torque based on an analysis of ankle motion and muscle patterns during walking on level and sloped floors. The developed robot can assist ankle muscle power by driving an electric geared motor at the exact timing through the use of an accelerometer that detects gait phase and period, and a potentiometer to measure floor slope angle. A simple muscle assistive link mechanism is proposed to convert the motor torque into the foot assistive force. In particular, this mechanism doesn't restrain the wearer's ankle joint; hence, there is no danger of injury if the motor malfunctions. During walking, the link mechanism pushes down the top of the foot to assist the ankle torque, and it can also lift the foot by inversely driving the linkage, so this robot is useful for foot drop patients. The developed robot and control algorithm are experimentally verified through walking experiments and EMG (Electromyography) measurements.
