Vibration Analysis of Planetary Fixed Outer-ring Type Cycloidal Speed Reducer by using Multi-body Modeling (다물체 모델링을 이용한 2단 유성식 외륜 고정형 사이클로이드 감속기의 진동특성분석)

  • There are many types of speed reducer for industrial uses. However the cycloid speed reducer is widely used in manipulators based on excellent performance of low backlash, high reduction ratio and compact size. It is essential to use precision speed reducer for accuracy of position controls on robot systems and electric vehicles. The cycloid speed reducer has a eccentric rotating motion and offset to avoid some problem of assembly, so it has a disadvantage for vibration. In this paper, a multi-body dynamic model is developed for a cycloid speed reducer and the dynamic behaviors of the reducer are investigated. The cycloid speed reducer consists of cycloidal plate gears, housing gear, input shaft, output pin and shaft, and eccentric bearings. Using a CAD program, each component of cycloid reducer is modeled based on the offset and eccentric. Multi-body simulations using Recurdyn and test using a rig tester are performed. As a result, the pin reaction force and the amplitude of housing displacement are increased by the larger offset and smaller eccentric value of cycloid reducer.

Finite Element Analysis for Fastening Process of Snap Ring (스냅링 체결 공정 해석)

  • A snap ring is a kind of metal spring with open ends which can be installed into a groove to prevent lateral movement. In this study a nonlinear finite element analysis model is developed to simulate the fastening process of a snap ring connecting the constant velocity joint and the transmission. Insert load, disengage load and breakage are three important issues. They are analyzed using the developed model. The load histories of simulations are similar to those of tests and the differences of maximum load are around 10%. Bending of the entire ring and unfolding of the end section are major contributors of the fastening load. The load variations caused by the angular position of spline tooth are about 50%. Breakage is highly sensitive to the position of a snap ring.

  • The noise and vibration reduction schemes of an industrial robot are studied. Experimental procedures are employed to examine the sources of robot noise. A parametric study is undertaken to observe the effects of each part such as gear, shaft and housing on the sound pressure level. After the part which mainly effects on the noise is proved, we propose countermeasures for reducing the noise and vibration of the robot system.

  • Gearbox is used to converter the power with high torque and low speed into the power with low torque and high speed. Gearbox housing should be sustained to prevent rotation of gearbox itself due to the difference between input and out torque. Uneven wind causes the reaction system to have unwanted reactive loads together with predictable pure torque. These unwanted reaction loads often cause the failure of gearbox due to bad gear mesh. In this paper, pure torque reaction system is proposed to prevent the failure of gearbox. Effectiveness and functionality of the proposed reaction system are demonstrated through the numerical analysis.

  • The object of this study is an examination of source of robot noise and reduction of the noise and the vibration for an industrial robot system. As the first step in our study, the noise and the vibration from the robot are measured by microphones and by accelerometers and the source of the noise and the vibration are proved to be from the gear, shaft, and housing from the experiments. The occurrence of the noise may be classified according into kinds, Finally base on the result of the experiments, we consider a countermeasure for reducing the noise and the vibration of robot system by the parametric study.

  • The working tactor of this study, an agriculture machine, is consisted of 4 wheel driving system with gear trains and 4-type wheel steering system. Since technological regions for 4 wheel driving system and 4-type wheel steering system are some large, we divide on two studies on 4 wheel driving system and 4-type wheel steering system This study develops transmission and axle that are very important units for strong working operation because the power of tractor is largely affected by transmission and axle. Even if the development of the power train is some common technology, it is very complicated work and needs many experience know-hows. So, for new given specifications fitted to the working tractor, a kind of new agriculture machine, this study haws out processes that are development of assembly drawing and strength analysis through classical method and CAE software for all internal parts and housing cases.

  • In the study, we described on the 3D solid model be made on the AutoCAD haved an effect on the deviation of form as RP manufactures the facetres. The STL file improved the deviation of form as the facetres value but the deviation of form have the difference a little as the RP system. In result, we ruled the correlation with the 3D solid model and the RP sample manufacturing, with manufacture RP sample according to facetres value in complex shape. And we developed the program which recombination the STL file that we make use of the AutoLISP.

  • EPS(Electric Power Steering) system, which has replaced the hydraulic steering system(HPS or HPAS) in many passenger cars recently, have many merits such as low energy consumption, easy mounting, light weight and improvement of environmental pollution. However, EPS system has the problem of motor noise when motor is rotated, which can make a driver feel uncomfortable. There are many techniques to solve those problems, but they are not clear. It is necessary to evaluate the mechanical noise in steering systems, because an EPS has vibration sources such as at the motor gear reducer, manual gears and intermediate joints. In this paper, reduction technique of EPS motor noise is introduced.

  • This paper presents about design efforts of a human-sized quadruped robot leg for high energy efficiency, and verifications. One of the representative index of the energy efficiency is the Cost of Transport (COT), but increased in the energy or work done is not calculated in COT. In this reason, the input to the output energy efficiency should be also considered as a very important term. By designing the robot with customized motor housing, small rotational inertia, and low gear ratio to reduce friction, high energy efficiency was achieved. Squatting motion of one leg was performed and simulation results were compared to the experimental results for validation. The developed 50 kg robot can lift the weight up to 200 kg, and during squatting, it showed high energy efficiency. The robot showed 71% input to output energy efficiency in positive work. Peak current during squatting only appears to be 0.3 A.
