  • We have developed the gear sound recognition system of mechanical timer. A mechancal timer is superior in endurance to electronic timer. So it is reliable under severe operating environment. It is putting together several kind of gears. Therefore when the timer operates, it emits mechanical sound of gears. We have chosen a microphone to detect the gear sound. A microphone is more efficient and convenient than other sensors. Because it is of low price and non-contact type sensor. For ease of measurement we designed real-time processing software based on graphical user interface.

  • While designing a torsional shafting with various gear-branched systems, it is very important for system designers to obtain critical speeds accurately and easily. The author has studied the transfer stiffness coefficient method (TSCM) as a structural analysis algorithm. In this paper, the TSCM is applied to the computation of critical speeds for torsional shafting with gear-branched systems. The accuracy of the present method is confirmed by comparing with the results of the finite element method.

  • 본 연구에서는 임의의 내접치차를 가공하기 위한 구형호브를 설계하는데 그 목적이 있으며 GTP를 구하는 방법으로는 CAD의 envelope 이론을 도입하여 근사해법이 아닌 해석적 방법으로 GTP를 구하였으며 이는 여러 오차 해석에서도 유용하게 이용되 었다.또한 호브의 설계를 위한 전산 프로그램을 개발하여 가공하고자 하는 내접치 차의 데이터로 부터 압력각, 이두께 및 피치의 값을 수정하여 호브를 설계함과 동시에 여유면 가공량을 등을 바로 계산할 수 있도록 하였으며 이에 의한 구형 호브의 설계에 를 제시하였다.

  • It is impossible to directly analyse stress distribution on thin bevel Gear. On this Paper, the author propose a method to analyse the stress of thin bevel gear boundary element method and develope a computer program. The propriety of this program is verified by comparing the numerical calculating results with theoretical results.

치차형 스크린의 선별 성능 향상을 위한 동적 해석과 설계 형상 변경 (Dynamic Analysis and Design of Star Screen in Recycling Construction Plant)

  • Recycling issue for the construction wastes is gradually important to future society. Recently, a star screen has been developed to use for this purpose, however some modifications were needed to enhance the separation accuracy. The objective of study is to evaluate and predict separation ability by verifying the effect for the modified shapes of the screen part. Two analysis models of the screen part were established using commercial software ADAMS to simulate the dynamic interaction of waste particles. Results showed that spacer and gear shapes directly affected separation ability. The modified spacer shapes were much higher screening rate with comparison to default shape. Screening ability for the half number of gear type was greater than other types. Therefore, modification of the design of screen part will be required to achieve better separation ability.

  • This study describes a computer aided design system on involute gear for power transmition. Input data for gear design are pressure angle $20^{\circ}$, transmitted power, gear volume, gear ratio, addendum ratio of rack, dedendum ratio of rack, edge radius of rack, allowable contact stress and allowable bending stress etc. Bending strength contact strength and scoring are considered as the design constraints. Method of optimization developed this study. The developed gear design system can design the optimized gear that minimize the number of pinion teeth with face tooth.

  • This paper deals with an evaluation of the residual stress due to shot peening induced in a car¬burized gear tooth and its application to the fatigue crack propagation problem. The residual stress is estimated based on the assumption that the main cause of residual stress is the volume difference between the case and core due to martensitic transformation in cooling, and the influ¬ence of both the reduction of retained austenite and the strain in the surface layer induced by shot peening are considered. The reliability of the method is examined by comparison with stresses measured by the X-ray diffraction method. The stresses intensity factors are computed by the influence function method and the reduction of the factor due to the residual stress is demonstrat¬ed and discussed based on the fracture mechanics.

  • In gear-train design, power-flow analysis is a very important process. The method for power-flow analysis apply the power balance equation and torque balance equation to each fundamental circuit. Then, the equation are solved simultaneously to determine the power-flow in planetary gear train. In this paper we perform power-flow analysis of a 6-speed automatic transmission. With this results are used to represent block diagram. In addition, the efficiencies of epicyclic inversion of the 6-speed automatic transmission is obtained.

  • There have been continuous efforts for developing the automatic mechanical design system to increase the efficiency of the tedious design process. However, these efforts have been concentrated on single platform application. Hence, the developed systems have been available only in a designated place and time and have been difficult to modify. It is proposed in this study that a web-based design system is developed to offer more reliability and convenience without any restriction of tine and place. The developed system is programed based on Java, and architecture of the system has object-oriented features of Servlet and JSP and is independent on any operating systems. The developed system has been applied to the initial design of multi-stage gear dirves but however as the framework of the developed system is quite versatile, its application to automatic design of any mechanical system or evaluation can be easily expected.

소결치차의 피로강도평가에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Fatigue Strength Evaluation of Sintered Spur Gears)

  • It is very important to have exact informations on the properties and characteristics of the sintered steel as a new material of machine elements. The bending fatigue tests are performed for the sintered steel bend specimens of various densities 6.6 to 7.0 g/$cm^3$ and the sintered spur gear to consisted of Fe-Cu-C. The fatigue test at a constant stress amplitude is performed by using an electrohydraulic servo-controlled pulsating tester. Consequently, the S-N curves are obtained. The fatigue strength S for fatigue life N of the specimen with the initial length of crack ai is simulated, and they are shown as N-S-A curves. This study investigate the crack growth characteristics by experiments and present crack growth simulation method for sintered gear
