압력용기 소재에서의 표면균열의 피로균열 성장특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on Fatigue Crack Growth Characterization Of Surface Crack In Pressure Vessel Materials)

  • 본 연구에서는 압력용기 소재인 SPV 50Q와 고압강관 소재로 사용하는 SPV 50Q 와 고압강간 소재로 사용하는 API 5A-K55에서의 표면균열의 표면방향과 깊이방향 또한 두께 평균에 대한 균열열림을 스트레인 게이지와 CMOD(Crack Mouth Opening Displace- ment)게이지를 이용하여 측정 비교하였다. 또한 표면균열의 균열 열림하중을 측정위 치에 따라 평가하고, 본연구에 사용한 두 소재에 대해 균열 열림을 고려한 표면균열 진전평가가 각 방향에 대해 이루어졌다.

유압식 확장기가 내장된 오거 크레인의 특성 및 신뢰성 평가 (Evaluation of Characteristics and Reliability of an Auger Crane with Built-in Hydraulic Extender)

  • This study evaluated the characteristics and reliability of an auger crane with a built-in hydraulic extender. The field test of the hydraulic extender was performed with the hydraulic lines filled with hydraulic fluid and free of air. The pressure generated during the test was measured with a digital pressure gauge. The crane was considered to have undergone one cycle of the excavation process after it had performed excavation under three conditions at the same location. This process was performed three times in total. From the results of the excavation using the hydraulic extender, it was found that the maximum pressure and torque measured were 19.9 [MPa] and 895.4 [$kgf{\cdot}m$], respectively. The rotation force of the auger crane generated at this time signifies a horizontal force. If the excavation diameter of the auger crane is increased, the rotation speed is reduced causing the circumferential speed to also be reduced. The torsional shear stress of the extendable auger crane was calculated to be approximately 23.5 [MPa]. However, the rotation shaft material used for this system was carbon steel for machine structural use (SM45C). Since the minimum torsional yield stress is greater than 150 [MPa] according to KS D 3752, it means the equipment has secured a safety factor greater than 6. Therefore, it was found that when performing work using the extendable auger crane, it exhibited no problems with the safety and reliability of its shaft.

탄소나노튜브 필름을 이용한 투명 압저항체의 제작 및 특성 연구 (Fabrication and Characterization of Transparent Piezoresistors Using Carbon Nanotube Film)

  • 본 논문에서는 탄소나노튜브 필름을 이용한 투명 압저항체의 제작 및 특성 연구를 수행하였다. 진공필터 방식으로 제작된 다양한 투과도를 가지는 탄소나노튜브 필름은 금층이 증착된 실리콘 기판위에서 사진식각 공정을 통해 패터닝이 된 후, 금층과 실리콘 기판의 약한 접착력으로 인해 실리콘 러버인 poly-dimethysiloxane (PDMS) 로 전사된다. 탄소나노튜브 필름의 압저항 특성을 분석하기 위해, 얇은 PDMS 멤브레인의 처짐에 대한 탄소나노튜브 필름의 저항 변화를 측정하여 10-20 의 개이지 팩터를 얻었으며, 인가 압력에 대한 저항 변화 실험을 수행하였다. 본 실험을 통하여 탄소나노튜브 필름은 폴리머 멤스의 다양한 응용분야에 투명한 압저항체로 사용될 수 있을 것으로 판단한다.

안전한 토석류 관리를 위한 계측기 선정에 관한 연구 (Study of Determination in Measurement System for Safely Managing Debris-Flow)

  • Recent studies have shown that there are various systems which can be used to monitor hazardous area in a debris flow location, but lack of methodological research on the exact location where each instrument should be installed has hindered the success of this systems. The objective of this study is to suggest the measurement system for monitoring debris-flow and propose the effective method to determine location of measurement system. Previously studied, from 1991 to 2015, were referred and the applied ratio of every instrument was investigated. The measurement information was divided into 8 categories including rainfall, debris-flow velocity, displacement, fluid pore pressure, ground vibration, image processing, impact force and peak flow depth. The result of this study revealed that the most applied instruments to be rain gauge and geophone for measuring average rainfall and ground vibration respectively. The Analytic Hierarchical Process (AHP) method was selected to determine installation location of instrument and the weighting factors were estimated through fine content, soil thickness, porosity, shear strength, elastic modulus, hydraulic conductivity and saturation. The soil thickness shows highest weights and the fine content relatively demonstrates lowest weights. The score of each position can be calculated through the weighting factors and the lowest score position can be judged as the weak point. The weak point denotes the easily affecting area and thus, the point is suitable for installing the measurement system. This study suggests a better method for safely managing the debris-flow through a precise location for installing measurement system.

Analysis of Motivating Factors for Smokeless Tobacco Use in Two Indian States

  • Background: This study was conducted to gauge how the demographic profile of smokeless tobacco (SLT) users from Gujarat and Andhra Pradesh, India, differs from that of smokers. It also addresses how factors associated with the initiation and continuation of smokeless tobacco vary by age, gender, and education. Materials and Methods: We analyzed 2011 cross-sectional survey data collected from 4,759 respondents (smokers/SLT users/non-users) in both states. Chi-square analysis was used to make comparisons between the demographic profiles of smokers and SLT users. Multivariable logistic regression analysis was used to obtain the odds ratios (ORs) for initiation and continuation factors regressed on socio-demographic variables (age, gender, education). Results: Initiation-women were less likely than men to report "peer pressure", "fashion statement", and "stress/coping" as relevant factors for SLT use (OR: 0.45 CI: 0.30-0.70; OR: 0.42 CI: 0.24-0.74; OR: 2.47, CI: 1.47-4.15). Older age groups had lower odds of choosing "peer pressure" than the 15-24 year olds. Respondents with 11 or more years of education were more likely to report "stress/coping" than those with no education (OR: 2.82, CI: 1.06-7.48). Continuation-women were less likely than men to choose "relaxation", and "distance from family" as important continuation factors (OR: 0.50, CI:0.32-0.80; OR: 0.20, CI: 0.06-0.65). All age groups were less likely to choose "stimulation" as a factor than the youngest group. Conclusions: Along with confirming and expanding upon previous literature, the findings of this study should encourage further SLT research in women and younger age groups (15-24 and 24-44). They also confirm the need for SLT prevention and cessation interventions in India in other community-based settings, besides schools.

그래핀 기반 지능형 나노복합소재를 이용한 고감도 임팩트 페인트 센서 개발 연구 (Development of Novel Impact Paint Sensor by Using Graphene based Smart Nano Composite)

  • This paper presents a novel impact sensor which can be fabricated with smart paint made of grapheme. This smart nano paint can be easily installed on structures using a spray-on technique and that can make the sensor low cost and practical. The graphene effectively improves the piezoresistivity of the smart paint and that is available to achieve sensitive impact sensor with high gauge factor. The nano smart-paint can detect sufficient impact to cover the damaged energy range of the composite around 1~3J. The voltage outputs from the sprayed paints show fairly linear responses after signal processing. The impact makes deformation of the structure and it brings change of piezoresistivity of the paint and those converts into voltage output consequently by means of a simple signal processing system. The nano smart paint is lightweight and easily applied to the structural surface, and there is no stress concentration. The nano smart paint is expected to be a cost effective and sensitive multi-functional sensor for composites and other damage monitoring applications in the field of structural health monitoring.

위생용지 부드러움의 객관적 평가 방법 개발 및 표준화 (Development of an Objective Softness Evaluation Method and Its Standardization for Hygiene Paper)

  • Softness is considered one of the most important attributes of hygiene paper such as tissue and towel. Being subjective in nature, however, softness attribute has been generally believed to be impossible to evaluate using objective methods. Hallmark in his pioneering work proposed that tissue subjective softness should be mainly consisted of the bulk softness component and surface softness component. The bulk softness component can be determined by tensile stiffness; the surface softness component by surface tester. The surface friction turns out far more important than the surface roughness in determining the surface softness component. It cannot be too much emphasized that both results of the tensile stiffness and the surface friction should depend on measuring conditions such as an instrument used, sample sizes (e.g., basis weight, length, and width) and operating conditions of the instrument (e.g., gauge length, cross-head speed, size of stylus, and its scanning speed). This indicates that a direct comparison of the test results would be impossible or misleading unless they have been tested under the identical conditions. This may explain why the standard objective test method for tissue softness has not been available at present.

  • 최근 풍력발전 시스템은 가장 빨리 발전하고 있는 신재생 에너지원중 하나로 각광을 받고 있으며, 풍력발전 시스템의 주된 관심사는 어떻게 광범위한 풍속의 변화에서도 효율적으로 시스템을 동작시키는 가에 있다. 일반적으로 풍속은 풍력발전시스템의 동특성에 큰 영향을 미치는 요소이다. 따라서 많은 풍력발전 제어 알고리즘은 성능향상을 위해 풍속의 측정을 요구하게 된다. 그러나 불행히도 풍속계와 같은 센서에 의한 실효 풍속의 정확한 측정은 어려운 실정이며 따라서 제어 시스템의 동작을 위해 풍속은 여러 가지 기법을 통해 추정되고 있는 실정이다. 이에 본 연구에서는 신경망 학습을 통해 현재 풍속을 추정한 후 추정된 풍속을 이용하여 최대 전력점을 추종(MPPT)하는 방법을 제안하고자 하며, 제안된 기법의 유용성 검증을 위해 실제 제작된 실험환경에서의 적용실험을 수행하였다.

성인 여성의 손톱 유형 분류 (Classification of Adult Women's Fingernail Type)

  • This study improves the dimensional suitability of nail tip products by reviewing the type of fingernail as seen among adult women in Korea. Subjects were 147 adult women ranging from age 20 to 40. Direct fingernails measurements were made using digital Vernier calipers and a curvature gauge. Data on various fingernail shapes were collected through indirect measurements using photography to reveal the shape characteristics of each fingernail types. In this sense, data were analyzed by statistical methods with the use of factor analysis. There were various factors considered to classify extracted fingernail types such as five factors (for the thumb), four factors (index, middle, and little fingers), and three factors (for the ring finger). The cluster analysis resulted in three types. Type 1 is a 'Square' shape characterized with wide fingernails, low height, flat, and low curvature of the cuticle line. Type 2 is 'U-round' shape characterized with narrow fingernails, high height, convex, and the highest curvature of the cuticle line. Type 3 is a 'Round' shape in which the fingernails are wide, high in height, convex, and characterized with a medium curvature of the cuticle line. The results are useful for companies that develop the free edge shape of fingernails for consumer products. The measured values of fingernail can be applied to the shape and lake setting of the nail tip product, depending on type of fingernail.

주민제안형 도시설계 운영 및 평가: 뉴타운시민대학을 중심으로 (A Study on The Resident-Oriented Urban Design of Citizen Academy: Case of Gyong-gi Newtown Academy)

  • 본 연구는 경기 뉴타운 시민대학 프로그램으로 진행된 안양 만안뉴타운 도시설계안을 대상으로 프로그램 운영평가와 결과물 분석을 통해 향후 주민제안형 도시설계의 시사점을 도출하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 뉴타운 시민대학은 기존 강의 위주의 방식에서 벗어나 주민이 직접 참여하여 분석하고, 설계안을 작성 제안하는 스튜디오 방식으로 진행되었다. 본 연구의 대상인 안양 만안팀의 계획안 '자연, 문화, 역사, 사람이 공존하는 Eco-Cycle 만안'은 2010년 시민대학의 대상을 수상한 주민제안형 도시설계안이다. 만안팀은 지역분석과 대안설정을 통해 문화, 여가, 자연이 공존하는 공간으로 대상지역을 계획하였으며, 주민설계안이 실제 뉴타운의 재정비촉진지구 계획에 반영되었다. 본 연구를 통해 주민들이 직접 참여하고 디자인한 뉴타운 시민대학의 도시설계 작성과정과 프로그램을 살펴보고 공공디자인으로서 주민제안형 도시설계의 가능성과 방향성을 제시하고자 하였다.
