TiAl 터빈을 적용한 과급 직분식 전기점화 엔진의 과도운전 성능특성 (Characteristics of Transient Performance in a Turbocharged GDI Engine with TiAl Turbine)

  • Turbocharged gasoline direct injection engine is one of promising technologies in the automotive industry. However, reduction in turbo-lag under transient operation is one of important challenging points to improve drivability. Engine transient performance was investigated in a 4-cylinder 2.0 L turbo-gasoline direct injection (T-GDI) engine using Inconel and TiAl (Titanium Aluminide alloy) turbine wheel turbochargers. The TiAl turbocharger performed superior transient boost pressure and torque rises under various engine transient operation conditions. These were mainly due to lower turbine rotational inertia of TiAl turbocharger. The Maximum boost pressure and torque build up were founded in 1500 rpm and 2000 rpm, instant load change from 20% to 100% of pedal position.

  • In this experimental study, it is designed and used the test engine bed which is installed with the exhaust gas recirculation, and in addition to equipped using by oxygen adder. It has been tested and analyzed the combustion and emission characteristics, cycle variability and engine performance by controlling the oxygen volume fraction, EGR rate, engine speed and equivalence ratio.

  • In the world, burning fossil fuels such as oil, petroleum, gasoline has created the global warming due to especially carbon dioxide gas emission. Therefore, these fossil fuels must be replaced by eco-friendly feadstocks. The wood pellets are one of valuable alternative fuels that can replace oil-based fuels within a short period of time. Unfortunately, there are no enough forest biomass for wood pellets in Korea. Nevertheless, Korea government has been trying to use most of forest biomass generated from the National Forest Management Operation. This does not make sense in an economic point of view.

보조기구의 형상 변경에 따른 배기계에서의 압력 변동 분석 (The Analysis of the Pressure Fluctuation in the Exhaust System According to the Assistant Device Configuration)

  • This paper described the characteristics of the exhaust pressure and proposed the assistant device for detection of misfired cylinder. Misfire, one of abnormal combustion, affects a bad influence of the 3-way catalyst and emits unburned hydrocarbon. Therefore, to prevent these unusual phenomena and eliminate the factor of the environmental pollution, early detection and correction of the misfired cylinder play a very important role. The configuration of assistant device was changed by length and diameter of pipe and analyzed with the install position on the exhaust system. Experimental results showed that the configuration of assistant device is not affected more than length and diameter of pipe and the assistant device is be effective in the detection of misfired cylinder on the gasoline engine.

가솔린 기관의 혼합기 조성과 연소 특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on Mixture Composition and Combustion Characteristics in Gasoline Engine)

  • Recently the automobile engine has been developed in achieving the high performance, fuel economy, and emission reduction. In a conventional spark ignition engine the fuel and air are mixed together in the intake system, inducted through the intake valve into the cylinder, and then compressed. Under normal operating conditions, the combustion is initiated towards the end of the compression stroke at the spark plug by an electric discharge. Following inflammation, a flame develops and propagates through this premixed fuel-air mixture. Therefore the state of mixture is very important in the combustion and emission characteristics. In this study the combustion and emission characteristics were tested and analyzed with changing the mixture composition and engine operating parameters in order to improve the combustion and performance in engine.

  • 분리막을 이용한 투과증발공정은 에너지 소모가 적고 설치비와 운영비면에서 우수한 효과를 볼 수 있기 때문에 증류공정을 대신할 수 있는 공정으로 주목받고 있다. 특히 석유화학공정은 공정 중에 에너지 소모가 크고, 많은 화합물들이 공비혼합물을 이루고, 새로운 공정을 설치하기 위해서는 작은 공간을 필요로 하기 때문에 투과증발공정은 증류공정을 대체할 수 있는 매우 유력한 후보이다. 벤젠/시클로헥산을 포함하는 방향족 화합물의 분리, 올레핀/파라핀 분리, 자일렌 이성질체의 분리, 반응성 단량체의 회수, 가솔린으로부터 황 화합물의 제거 등에 투과증발공정을 응용하는 많은 연구가 이루어졌으며, 상용화가 되고 있다.

  • 가솔린엔진에서 흡기계를 통하여 배기가스의 일부를 재연소시키는 EGR시스템은 NOx를 저감하기 위하여 양호한 배기배출특성을 나타내지만, 엔진으로 유입되는 배기가스량이 적절하지 않을 경우 불안정한 연소를 일으켜 엔진의 출력이 저하된다. 본 연구에서는 흡기관압력을 바탕으로 다양한 엔진운전조건에 따른 EGR율을 예측하는 방법을 검토하고, 이러한 예측자료를 실험적 방법을 통하여 확인하였다. 그리고 이러한 예측자료를 바탕으로 피드백 EGR제어 알고리즘을 구성한 후, 엔진운전조건에 대한 잔류 가스량을 계산한 데이터와 EGR 피드백 제어실험을 통해 얻어진 데이터를 비교한 결과를 통하여 정성적으로 유사한 결과치를 얻었다. 따라서 적용된 피드백 EGR제어 알고리즘 및 시스템은 실제 전자제어식 EGR기술에 응용될 실현 가능성을 보여주었다.

대구지역 환경대기 및 VOC 발생원의 BTEX 농도비 특성 (Characteristic of BTEX Concentration Ratio of VOC Emission Sources and Ambient Air in Daegu)

  • This study assessed the characteristic of BTEX (Benzene, Toluene, Ethylbenzene, Xylene) concentration ratios of industrial emission sources and the neighborhoods of industrial area, fuel such as gasoline, light oil, LPG, and similar gasoline, and ambient air in Daegu. The BTEX in aromatic compounds was the most abundant VOC in Daegu. The BTEX ratios were (0.2:2.6:1.0:1.8) for the neighborhoods of industrial area, (2.6:11.3:1.0:1.2) for residential area, (2.2:11.0:1.0:1.6) for commercial area, (1.0:14.9:1.0:1.3) for industrial area, and (0.2:2.6:1.0:1.8) for the neighborhoods of industrial area. Average BTEX ratios in Daegu were B/T ratio (0.1), B/EB ratio (1.5), B/X ratio (1.1), T/EB ratio (12.6), T/X ratio (10), EB/X ratio (0.7), Expecially, B/T ratio in Daegu was similar as the other cities, Bangkok, Manila, and Hongkong. Comparing other cities with B/T ratio, the main sources of VOC were vehicular exhaust and emission of industrial facilities. Furthermore, BTEX correlation were evaluated at the emission sources and regional areas. Results showed that correlation coefficient values of emission sources, fuels and neighborhood of industry were significant magnitude above 0.65(p<0.01). Also, there showed highly significant correlations among BTEX. Calculated correlation coefficients of ambient air sampling sites were $0.61{\sim}0.954$ for commercial /residential area and $0.613{\sim}0.998$ for industrial area. However, they showed different correlation between commercial/residental area and industrial area. It implied that the emission sources were different from each area.

수용모델을 이용한 서울지역 미세입자 (PM2.5)에 영향을 미치는 배출원 특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the PM2.5 Source Characteristics Affecting the Seoul Area Using a Chemical Mass Balance Receptor Model)

  • The purpose of this study is to study the $PM_{2.5}$ source characteristics affecting the Seoul area using a chemical mass balance (CMB) receptor model. This study was also to evaluate the $PM_{2.5}$ source profiles, which were directly measured and developed. Asian Dust Storm usually occurred in the spring, and very high $PM_{2.5}$ concentrations were observed in the fall among the sampling periods. So the ambient data collected in the spring and fall were evaluated. The CMB model results as well as the $PM_{2.5}$ source profiles were validated using the diagnostic categories, such as: source contribution estimate, t-statistic, R-square, Chi-square, and percent of total mass explained. In the spring months, the magnitude of $PM_{2.5}$ mass contributors was in the following order: Chinese aerosol $(31.7\%)>$ secondary aerosols ($22.3\%$: ammonium sulfate $13.4\%$ and ammonium nitrate $8.9\%)>$ vehicles ($16.1\%$: gasoline vehicle $1.4\%$ and diesel vehicles $14.7\%)>$biomass burning $(15.5\%)>$ geological material $(10.5\%)$. In the fall months, the general trend of the $PM_{2.5}$ mass contributors was the following: biomass burning $(31.1\%)>$ vehicles ($26.9\%$: gasoline vehicle $5.1\%$ and diesel vehicles $21.8\%)>$ secondary aerosols ($23.0\%$: ammonium sulfate $9.1\%$ and ammonium nitrate $13.9\%)>$ Chinese aerosol $(10.7\%)$. The results show that the $PM_{2.5}$ mass in the Seoul area was mainly affected by the Chinese area.

내연기관 자동차에 사용되는 연료의 증류특성에 관한 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study on the Distillation Characteristics of Fuel Used in an Internal Combustion Engine Vehicle)

  • 친환경적인 환경과 자동차산업의 발달로 내연기관자동차에서 완전연소를 통해 열효율을 높이고 배기가스를 점감하기 위한 연구를 활발하게 진행하고 있다. 특히 휘발유의 휘발성과 연소특성에 대한 이해로 엔진의 부하와 출력을 높이기 위한 연구가 진행되고, 경유 연료의 증류 및 연소특성을 토대로 매연이나 유해가스 저감과 최적의 효율을 구현하기 위한 연구가 진행 중이다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 한국 산업규격의 석유제품 증류시험방법에 대한 KS M ISO 3045의 내용을 토대로 국내에서 시판되고 사용되는 정유사 4사의 휘발유와 경유를 기반으로 증류실험을 진행하였다. 증류실험으로 증류량에 따른 증류온도와의 상관관계를 확인하고 증류된 연료의 비교를 통해 증류특성에 대한 분석을 실시하여 시험기준에 부합하는지에 대한 적합성을 확인하였다.
