  • Development of 3 cylinder turbo charger engine is increasing due to engine down-sizing, cost reduction and emission regulations. However, 3 cylinder engine makes higher Exhaust manifold gas pressure(P3) pulsation than 4 cylinder engine and it generate boosting air with high pulsation. The mechanical waste-gate turbocharger just controlled by the boosting air has higher movement because of this high pulsation boosting air. This causes high vibrations to wasted gate and accelerate wear of the linkage system. So we need to understand out of the exhaust gas pressure pulsation changed by turbocharger compressor pressure(P2) Pulsation. In this study, we discuss how to prevent to abnormal movement of the turbo actuator by stabilized P2 Pulsation.

  • A combined process of non-thermal plasma and catalytic technique has been investigated to treat $CH_3$CN gas in the atmosphere. A planar type dielectric barrier discharge (DBD) reactor has been used to generate the non-thermal plasma that produces various chemically active species, such as O, N, OH, $O_3$, ion, electrons, etc. Several different types of the beads. which are Molecular Sieve (MS) 5A, MS 13X, Pt/alumina beads, are packed into the DBD reactor, and have been tested to characterize the effects of adsorption and catalytic process on treating the $CH_3$CN gas in the DBD reactor. The test results showed that the operating power consumption and the amounts of the by-products of the non-thermal plasma process can be reduced by the assistance of the adsorption and catalytic process.

  • Based on experimental and theoretical analyses, we suggested a new possibility that the CVD diamond films grow not by the atomic unit but by the charged clusters containing a few hundreds of carbon atoms, which form spontaneously in the gas phase [J. Crysta] Growth 62 (1996) 55]. These hypothetical negatively-charged clusters were experimentally confirmed under a typical hot-filament diamond CVD process. Thin film growth by charged clusters or gas phase colloids of a few nanometers was also confirmed in Si and ZrO₂ CVD and appears to be general in many other CVD processes. Many puzzling phenomena in the CVD process such as selective deposition and nanowire growth could be explained by the deposition behavior of charged clusters. Charged clusters were shown to generate and contribute at least partially to the film deposition by thermal evaporation. Origin of charging at the relatively low temperature was explained by the surface ionization described by Saha-Langmuir equation. The hot surface with a high work function favors positive charging of clusters while that of a low work function favors negative charging.

  • Silicon dioxide ($SiO_2$) thin films were deposited using a modified DBD called a "pin-to-plate-type DBD" in order to generate high-density plasmas with a gas mixture of PDMS/$O_2$. The effect of the gas mixture on the physical and chemical properties of $SiO_2$ deposited by the pin-to-plate-type DBD with the mixture of PDMS/$O_2$ was investigated.

  • This paper presents an electric scooter development using blushless DC motor. In recent scooters was to develop for sport leisure and short transportation. Most of scooter are used petroleum gas. This gas scooter has disadvantage to pollute the air. Some of scooters have developed by DC motor which require a brush. However brushless motors have higher maximum speed and greater capacity, save maintenance labour and produce less noise. There is also greater freedom in planing the usage of brushless motors. In this paper we develop an electric scooter driving BLDC motor for design smart system and control speed of scooter with current reference signal to apply voltage to motor by means of three phase inverter. Using accelerator device we generate current reference to control speed and send the current to a MICOM by A/D converter. This MICOM produces the voltage signal and hall sensors signal and PWM controller drive three phase inverter to minimize error between the reference and an actual current.

  • Starburst galaxies have strong star formation activity and generate large scale outflows which eject a huge amount of gas mass. This process affects galaxy activity, and therefore, the detailed study of nearby starburst galaxies could provide valuable information for the study of distant ones. So far there have been only a few studies of galactic-scale molecular outflows due to the sensitivity limitation of telescopes. Our study provides two nearby examples, NGC 2146 and NGC 3628. We used Nobeyama Millimeter Array (NMA) CO(1-0) data, Chandra soft X-ray data, and NMA 3 mm data to study the kinematics of molecular outflows, their interaction with ionized outflows, and the star forming activity in the starburst region. We found that the gas ejected through molecular outflows is much more significant than that used to form stars.

  • The technology for neutralizing static electricity by soft X-ray radiation has been newly developed. This technology involves ionization of gas molecules in the vicinity of a charged substrate to generate ions and electrons to reduce electrostatic potential. The ULSI device substrate and liquid crystal display substrate tend to get charged instantly to a high potential level when they are handled in the manufacturing process. Soft X-ray radiation is adequate in air or $O_2$ gas at atmospheric pressure. This newly developed neutralization method is effective to be superior to the conventional technique, i.e., an ionizer by using corona discharge ,in every aspect. The new method features excellent neutralization capability and is able to completely reduce electrostatic potential to 0 V within a short time. Moreover, this is a very clean antistatic technology free from particle generation ,ozone generation, and electromagnetic noise, which are problems in using the corona discharge ionizer.

  • It was reported that low temperature plasma developed by our group was apparently homogeneous and stable at atmospheric pressure, and was generated if the alumina was used as a dielectric insulating material and Ar gas as a plasma gas. This is a structure in which the dielectric materials are covered and arranged in parallel in the one side of electrode. In this experiment, we discovered that dielectric material was important to generate normal electric discharge. To examine the effect of dielectric material on the electric discharge characteristic, the voltage and current of the plasma was measured and the electrical effect of dielectric material was examined. Also, it was applied to an etching of tin oxide films.

  • As the era of the human friendly robot looms, the intelligent autonomous mobile robots have obtained tremendous interests in recent years. The robots may be service robots for serving human or industrial robots for replacing human. For the coexistance with human, the robots must be able to feel and recognize three dimensional space that human live. In this paper, we propose three dimensional environmental modeling method based on a neural network technique called Growing Neural Gas Network. The purpose of this neural network is to generate a graphical structure which reflects the topology of the input space. Through this method, the robots´ surroundings are autonomously segmented ...

  • Combined Cycle Unit(CC) generates the primary power from the Gas Turbine(GT) and supplies the remaining heat of the GT to the Steam Turbine(ST) to generate the secondary power from the ST. It plays a major role in terms of energy efficiency and Load Frequency Control(LFC). Incremental Heat Rate(IHR) curves of economic dispatch(ED) of CC is applied differently by GT/ST combination. But It is practically difficult because of performance test by all combinations. This paper suggests a reasonable method for estimating IHR curves for partial combinations(1:1~(N-1):1) using IHR curves when operating with GT alone(1:0) and with all(N:1) combinations of CC.
