  • This paper describes the position control method in yard crane drive system using Lonworks network, which is a leading industrial control network. The network is composed of host computer and three motor drive systems for both gantry and trolley position controls of both gantry and trolley are controlled with the simulator of yard crane, the size of which is about 1/10 with the real yard crane.

  • Typical small desktop robots have limied application due to their intrinsic feaures like friction, backlash, etc. However, a newly developed small gantry desktop robot needs smaller footprint and shows better performance in position accuracy, velocity, and acceleration. In order to achieve such results, synchronization control of two axes, position compensation methods in plane are suggested.

  • For high-speed/high-accuracy position control of a gantry-moving-type linear motor, we propose a nonlinear adaptive controller including a synchronization algorithm. Linear motors are easily affected by force ripple, friction, and parameter variations because there is no mechanical transmission to reduce the effects of model uncertainties and external disturbances. Synchronization error is also caused by skew motion, model uncertainties, and force disturbance on each axis. Nonlinear effects such as friction and ripple force are estimated and compensated for. The synchronization algorithm is used to reduce the synchronous error of the two side pillars. The performance of the controller is evaluated via computer simulations.

  • Bridge is Most from stay of Gantry structures part. In compliance with oneself weight of the bridge deflecting, this occurs drops the location precision of the work tool. Also accelerative at the time of gives a serious load to Y axial motors which transfer the bridge damages. The motor with high-speed transfer of location control which is accurate makes disrupt. The malleability of the bridge to maintain consequently and necessary to minimize a weight. This paper the structural FEM interpretations of the stone and the aluminum alloy with the material by which will be used in the bridge and static deflected and a candle precise plane X-Y stage optimal design with character the interpretation result.

  • In recent years, a lot of industrial equipments have serial communication channel such as FieldBus (CAN, Profibus, etc.) or Ethernet that provides real time communication between industrial equipments. Theses applications include gantry crane, robot, chip mounter, etc.. In this paper, we discuss the synchronization technique for networked multi-motor systems where controllers (commercial servo amps) are distributed and interconnected by CAN (Controller Area Networks). We first describe the equivalent model for the individual servo-amp and motor using the frequency response. We design the $H{\infty}$ controller for motion synchronization. Finally, the synchronization technique using the equivalent model and the $H{\infty}$ controller is verified by the simulation and the experiment.

  • In order to manufacture precision parts which are used for IT and BT Industry by machining, users need higher speed & precision machining center. So, for development of this kind of machine, we designed gantry type machining center which is piling of 3 axes on one moving body and the 2-axis rotary table is fixed on the base. It is applied linear motor that is instead of ball-screw and servo-motor combination and 50,000 rpm high-speed spindle. Composite material structure called mineral casting or resin concrete is applied also. This paper presents design technology and evaluated results of high speed and precision machining center.

  • In crane drives, DC motor has been most widely used due to simple control characteristic and favorable transient behavior. Nowadays, however, the squirrel cage induction motor is known as an attractive candidate due to elimination of all sliding electrical contacts, resulting in an exceedingly simple and rugged construction. Especially, in hoist application, the smooth torque control and four quadrant operation are essential. In this paper, an operation of dual inverters with common DC bus fed by vector controlled induction motor is described. Single DSP is employed as a main processor to control dual inverters and communicates each input/output signal with PLC. As well as giving a detailed expression, full simulation and experimental results are presented.

  • Application of linear electric motors to automation of manufacturing processes, gantry robots, machining processes, machining centers, additive manufacturing and laser scribing has been discussed. The paper focuses on replacement of ball lead screw mechanisms with linear electric motors, linear motor driven positioning stages, linear motor driven gantries, machining centers, machining of large objects and industrial lasers. The best linear electric motors for application to machining processes are permanent magnet (PM) linear synchronous motors (LSMs), especially those without PMs in the reaction tail, e.g., high thrust density linear (HDL) LSMs and PM flux switching (FS) LSMs.
