A number of essential oils from Mongolian aromatic plants are claimed to have antimicrobial activities. The essential oil of Dracocephalum foetidum, a popular essential oil used in Mongolian traditional medicine, was examined for its antimicrobial activity. Eight human pathogenic microorganisms including B. subtilis, S. aureus, M. lutens, E. hirae, S. mutans, E. coli, C. albicans, and S. cerevisiae were examined. The essential oil of Dracocephalum foetidum exhibited strong antimicrobial activity against most of the pathogenic bacteria and yeast strains that were tested; by both the agar diffusion method and the minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) assay ($MIC\;range\;was\;26-2592{\mu}g/ml$). Interestingly, Dracocephalum foetidum even showed antimicrobial activity against methicilin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) strains. We also analyzed the chemical composition of the oil by GC-MS and identified several major components, including n-Mentha-1,8-dien-10-al, limonene, geranial, and neral.

On 6 August 2018, heavy rainfall of daily precipitation of more than 200 mm occurred in the Yeong-dong coastal area, and especially, 1-hour precipitation of 93 mm (0251~0351 LST (local standard time) 6 August) at Gangneung station, ranked second in the history of meteorological survey of the station. In this study, this heavy rainfall case over the Gangneung area would be studied to investigate the process in which the heavy rainfall occurred. A developed ridge moved toward the Yeong-dong coastal area from the Maritime Province in Russia. The approaching of the ridge led to the northeasterly cold wind over the coastal region, causing the collision between the incoming northeasterly cold wind, and the humid and warm (convectively unstable) air located over the Yeong-dong area. This collision led to a strong convergence (maximum -206 × 10^-5 s^-1) at 925 hPa level over the vicinity of Gangneung at 0300 LST 6 August, resulting updraft of up to about 4.4 m s^-1 at 700 hPa level over the area. This strong updraft forced to lift rapidly the convectively unstable, warm and humid air layer, located over the vicinity of Gangneung, leading to the heavy rainfall (1-hour precipitation of 93 mm) over the area.

Amiodarone을 사용하는 환자에서 객혈이 발생하였을 경우 원인으로 amiodarone의 폐독성을 반드시 고려하여야 하며 즉시 투여를 중지하고 스테로이드를 사용하면 임상 증상을 호전시킬 수 있다. 저자들은 저용량의 amiodarone을 장기간 사용하던 환자에서 발생한 객혈을 약물 투여 중지 및 대증적 치료로 호전시킨 1예를 경험하여 문헌 고찰과 함께 보고하는 바이다.

이번 캡스톤 디자인에서는 식당, 카폐 등 유명 장소 검색 시 날씨까지 함께 보여줄 수 있는 앱을 구현한다. 이 앱을 사용하는 사용자는 날씨 정보를 보면서 희망하는 장소를 검색하여 출장 업무나 여행 일정에 도움을 얻을 수 있다.

수중 다중매체 통신 또한 수중 통신과 마찬가지로 에너지 확보 문제로 노드의 마비, 높은 에너지 교체 비용등의 문제를 가지고 있다. 이에 본 논문에서는 이전 연구에서 제시된 에너지 소모 산출 모델을 이용하여 수중 다중매체 통신 네트워크를 대상으로 하는 에너지 기반 라우팅 알고리즘을 제시한다.

점심이나 저녁을 위한 간단한 음식을 주문하고자 할 때 배달료가 비싸서 망설이거나 포기하는 경우가 많다. 이 발표에서는 가까운 지인이 아니더라도 배달 장소가 동일한 어느 누구와도 함께 주문함으로써 배달비를 절감할 수 있는 앱을 설계하고 구현한다. 개발된 앱은 여러 음식점을 등록하여 각 음식점에서 판매하는 다양한 메뉴 주문과 배달지 선택 기능을 제공한다.

Cancer chemopreventive effects can be exerted through the induction of phase II detoxification enzymes and the inhibition of inflammatory responses. In this study, the cancer chemopreventive effects and anti-inflammatory responses of 30 seaweed extracts were examined. The extracts of Dictyota coriacea and Cutleria cylindrica exhibited the high chemoprevention index, having 4.36 and 4.66, respectively. They also activated antioxidant response element at $100\;{\mu}g/mL$ by about 3-fold while did not activate xenobiotic response element. Seven seaweed extracts, Ishige okamurae, Desmarestia ligulata, Desmarestia viridis, Dictyopteris divaricata, D. coriacea, Sargassum horneri, and Sargassum yezoense, showed significant inhibition on nitric oxide (NO) and prostaglandin $E_2$ ($PGE_2$) production in a dose-dependant manner in $5-20\;{\mu}g/mL$. These seaweed extracts could be used as food materials for cancer chemoprevention. D. coriacea could contain potential chemopreventive agents not only that regulate genes via an ARE-dependent mechanism but also prevent the inflammation through inhibition of NO and $PGE_2$ production.

This research aimed to grasp the recognition of the amenity of the university students residing in Gyo-dong residential area in Gangneung city, the local residents residing in Daehag-ro which is near Jungang-ro in downtown and the public servants related to city development in Gangneung city office and thereby propose a plan to improve the amenity of Gangneung city. Based on the result of the research, the university student group around Gyo-dong residential area mostly recognized the amenity and the local residents around Daehag-ro showed insufficient recognition of the amenity and some of related public servants were found to be ignorant of the term amenity. Also, the priorities of amenity indexes identified from these 3 groups commonly showed aliveness requiring green lands and watercourses on top but 2nd priority of each group tended to be different from each other. Through the research result as above, we would like to propose the plan to improve as follows. First, the recognition of the concept of amenity is necessary. Second, green lands and watercourses that were selected by all of the 3 groups as ranking no. 1 should be secured. Third, the value of amenity resources should be evaluated. Gangneung city is a city where mountains and the sea are harmonized together granting abundant god blessed natural resources. But if Gangneung city would imprudently reclaims the excellent god blessed natural environment under the good title of city and housing lands development, its ranking in city competitiveness evaluations will be expected to continue descending. Therefore, as proposed in this research, the thing that has to be implemented with first priority for amenity Gangneung city is the execution of amenity policy to secure the identity of Gangneung city and the aspect of regulations or systems should also be pursued together with the policy.

We report a unique case of synchronous double primary gastric cancer consisting of adenocarcinoma components with micropapillary features and composite glandular-endocrine cell carcinoma components. The patient was a 53-year-old man presenting with a 6-month history of epigastric pain and diarrhea. A subtotal gastrectomy was performed. Histologically, one tumor was composed of micropapillary carcinoma components (50%) with tight clusters of micropapillary aggregates lying in the empty spaces, admixed with moderately differentiated adenocarcinoma components. MUC-1 was expressed at the stromal edge of the micropapillary component. The other tumor was composed of atypical carcinoid-like neuroendocrine carcinoma (50%), adenocarcinoid (30%), and adenocarcinoma components (20%). The neuroendocrine components were positive for CD56, synaptophysin, chromogranin, and creatine kinase. The adenocarcinoid components were positive for both carcinoembryonic antigen and neuroendocrine markers (amphicrine differentiation). This case is unique, due to the peculiar histologic micropapillary pattern and the histologic spectrum of adenocarcinoma adenocarcinoid-neuroendocrine carcinoma of the synchronous composite tumor.

Gangneung Danoje does not only have the longest history but also is the largest folk festival in Korea. However, during its long history Gangneung Danoje has not always been the way as it is today. As records reveal, since the Chosun dynasty and through Japanese rule, it has gone through numerous variations and registration processes in order to become a national designated major intangible cultural asset. Especially after it has been appointed as a national major intangible cultural asset Gangneung Danoje has under gone through variety of transformations. First of the few changes is the citizen-lead characteristic. As Gangneung Cultulral Center took charge of Danoje this trait has become prominent. Hereby Chosun dynasty's government lead system has transformed into a civilian lead festival. Second alteration is the enormous scale of expansion and the variations of the characteristic of the festival because of it. Dano event has increased annually from 12 events in 1974 to 58 events by 1999. As the scale of Danoje enlarged the promoters found solutions by providing diversified events in order to satisfy peoples' various aspirations from the festival. However this solution lead to a diversion - from participating festival to a spectating festival. And the last change that occurred is the awareness of the need to develop Danoje into an international festival. This is rather a desire from the government than of the people. In 1994, Korea visiting year as an opportunity this consciousness grew active. For instance, the invitation of mass foreign folk performance in 1999 seems to conform to this policy. The intention to make Gangneung Danoje not only to represent Gangneung but also to represent Korea's folk event can be witnessed. As we enter 21st Century this inclination for international festival has strengthened. Gangneung government has shown enthusiasm to find the future of Danoje by inviting external service corps to assess Danoje. The current inclination appears to be increase its value as an international festival through UNESCO cultural property registration and having this as a foundation make Danoje become an international cultural tourist product. The judgment of this will be made after Gangneung International Folklore Festival 2004.
