An Analysis of Behavioral Patterns in Using Online Games among Middle and High School Students (중·고등학생의 인터넷게임 사용에 따른 게임행동분석)

  • This study is to examine how middle and high school students vary in terms of good and bad usage of online games and how these factors have varying effects on their use of the internet as a whole. My focus is to study their behavioral patterns individually while playing internet-based online games. The results are as follows: First, 260 out of 390 subjects used the internet. Male students who are high school students with siblings, or preschool time game users were revealed to play online games more often rather than female students who are middle school students with no siblings, or non-preschool time game users. Secondly, the analysis of differences of good and bad usage of online games revealed that there is a significant correlation between gender and beginning age. Lastly, a thorough analysis of the average difference in terms of following the online game shutdown found that there is no significant correlation among the sub-groups. However, an analysis of the difference of the problematic game usage has shown that there is a significant difference in the heavy user group. This findings means that the students who don't follow the online game shutdown spend more time than those who do.

  • This study explored the relationships between media use and attributions of negative ffects of video games on attitudes toward Shut-down system. To prevent the youth from game addiction and secure a right to sleep for the youth, Shut-down system ahs been enacted since the fall of 2011. Interview survey revealed that females, the aged, those who use more news products, those who perceive more negative effects of games, and those who attribute the negative effects of game on government would have more positive attitudes toward the shut-down system.

  • This study started for the verification of the worry in the relationship within violent game use and youth moral. The survey was conducted and analyze some personal factor: self control, self esteem, aggression and game time. Self control and self esteem show positive relationship with moral, but aggression shows negative relationship. The other side, game use time doesn't show any relationship with moral whether the game is aggressive or not. It is significant for the game has no relations about a laxity of moral fiber of youth and the aggression of the game doesn't show any negative influence on moral.

  • Domestic game industry is growing around game contents service. Game contents service is becoming popular because it has character that can use a game with opposing user on network in real time and advantage that can download the wanted game at anytime or anywhere. It is different to general service from the view point of user. In order words, the user of game contents service has different character from that of general service because their using characteristics in service using effect are shown use variously in the demographics, psychology and behavioral particular. In these views, we have done a comparative analysis character between game contents service and general service.

  • Since the revision of the ICD-11 of the WHO, the level of social discourse on internet game use disorders has been increasing. However, existing studies have mixed terms and causal relationships with game use disorder or game addiction. This study was conducted with high school students aged 16 to 18, focusing on internet game addiction. As a result of the analysis, the greater the obstacles to daily life and self-regulation, the higher the risk of falling into internet game addiction. This study has a significance in reestablishing the causal relationship of Internet game addiction.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the teacher's perception about educational use of a game as a supportive method for teaching and learning process in the educational context. The result will be used as a good index to spread the game-based learning in the future. We have derived the following results through the investigation. Firstly, teachers have some limitation to get the topics and contents for game-based learning curriculum. Secondly, they were frequently required to design and arrange their teaching process by the level of learner's ability in the game-based learning. Thirdly, public institution has to supply various information and guideline for teachers to use the game-based learning. Finally, they demand systematic approach and executive and financial support to encourage the game-based learning.

  • In this paper, we suggested a method for game operation tools by Ultrasonic sensor. Various ideas are necessary for the development that a game is industrial. I use a Ultrasonic sensor in this study and use a model case, and an operation is going to hold a case shooting play. Therefore, I showed a former circuit and a formula related to this.

The Effects of Interactivity on User Experience and Intention to use in Mobile Fitness App Game (모바일 피트니스 앱 게임의 상호작용성이 운동경험과 이용의도에 미치는 효과 : 플레이테스트 실험연구)

  • This study attempted to identify differences in user experience and app game fun, satisfaction, use intention between fitness app games at different level of interaction design. The playtesting method was conducted on 100(male 50, female 50) university students using 'Enjoy Your Fitness', a fitness app game developed by The Center for Health Communication Studies. The results found that more interactive app game is higher in the level of user experience such as fitness accomplishment, flow, and interest. Fitness app game's fun, satisfaction, use intention is also higher on interactive fitness app game. As the study verified that interactive fitness app game had stronger effects in user fitness experience and user experience than general fitness app games through experimental studies, it may contribute to design fitness mobile app game for health improvement.
