  • We propose an object recognition system and experiential game contents using Kinect to maximize object recognition rate by utilizing underwater robots. we implement an ice hockey game based on object-aware interactive contents to validate the excellence of the proposed system. The object recognition system, which is a preprocessor module, is composed based on Kinect and OpenCV. Network sockets are utilized for object recognition communications between C/S. The problem of existing research, degradation of object recognition at long distance, is solved by combining the system development method suggested in the study. As a result of the performance evaluation, the underwater robot object recognized all target objects (90.49%) with 80% of accuracy from a 2m distance, revealing 42.46% of F-Measure. From a 2.5m distance, it recognized 82.87% of the target objects with 60.5% of accuracy, showing 34.96% of F-Measure. Finally, it recognized 98.50% of target objects with 59.4% of accuracy from a 3m distance, showing 37.04% of F-measure.

  • In online games, interactions with other players may threaten player satisfaction. Therefore, matching players of similar skill levels is important for players' experience. However, with the current evaluation method which is only based on the final result of the game, newbies and returning players are difficult to be matched properly. In this study, we propose a method to improve matchmaking quality. We build machine learning models to predict the MMR of players and derive the basis of the prediction. The error of the best model was 40.4% of the average MMR range, confirming that the proposed method can immediately place players in a league close to their current skill level. In addition, the basis of predictions may help players to accept the result.

  • Commercialized game engines help develop content and support various platforms, but there are performance differences depending on the function. In this paper, a VR video conferencing platform corresponding to source multi-use was implemented, and the connection delay time according to the type of game server engine and the number of platform users was measured. As a result of the measurement, the latency was the lowest at 22.146 msec when using the Amazon GameLift engine and with 2 users, and the latency was the highest at 27.007 msec when using the ProudNet engine and with 10 users.

  • Entering $21^{st}$ Century, the most critical keyword for companies is change and innovation. To achieve it, Obtaining right person becomes more and more important to those companies. It is not only supported by managers in business world but also by academia. However it is not easy to obtain right persons who have right experiences and knowledges. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to build strategic system which support help to hire and manage human resource. In this study, the suggested system is a type of strategic simulation game and job seeker can get several opportunities to be hired by joining the game. this system would help for companies to manage and hire right persons and there will be extra business opportunities. In conclusion, this system based on strategic simulation game would help human resource management and also promote job market and exchanging and trading companies' information and knowledge as well.

  • It has been reported that more than 10 percent of Korean elementary students are classified into ADHD (Attention Deficit / Hyperactivity Disorder). Major treatment of ADHD is medication. However, medication brings various kinds of side effects. Therefore, we need a way to improve attention leve, and lead children to voluntarily participate in it. With this purpose, we tried to develop a 3D tangible game to improve the children's attention level. To measure the level of attention enhancement, firstly we measured both the group average and the standard deviation of the measurement variables from the raw data gathered during the game play time. The measured value can be effectively used to measure the level of attention improvement of the children who might need treatment.

  • Programming education generally includes problem analysis process, automation through algorithms and programming, and generalization process. It is a good software education method for students in improving computing thinking. However, it was found that beginners had difficulties in understanding instruction usage, writing algorithms, and implementing programming. In this study, we developed a game programming education model and curriculum for programming education of pre-service teachers. The 4E model consisted of empathy, exploration, engagement and evaluation. In addition, it is configured to learn game core elements and core command blocks by each stage. To help the pre-service teachers understand the use of various programming blocks, a three-step teaching and learning method was presented, consisting of example learning, self-game creation, and team-based projects. As a result of applying and verifying the curriculum for 15 weeks, it showed significant results in the 4E model and pre-service teachers' perception of block programming competence and the level of computational thinking on the submitted game project results was also high.

  • Since the game is industrialized in the 1970s, efforts to study attributions throughout the definition of the game has been continued. This study analyzed the importance of 7 attributions including rule, goal, conflict, activity, decision-making, voluntary, art that were collectively organized by Katie Salen & Eric Zimmerman using AHP. For this, we analyzed the data after subjected to pair-wise comparison survey through the gaming industry experts, and the result was confirmed that match the analysis model comparing with the survey of game players. In this analysis of the importance, Goal(24%) is the greatest important in the seven factors mentioned above. Art(16%),Voluntary(15%), Rule(13%) followed after it. So, We can find out which attributes are considered important in the game development process through this Research.

  • Physically interactive sport games are emerging as a solution to increase the physical activity of children in urban life. Existing studies on physically interactive sport games have been conducted with adults, while studies on children are insufficient. The elements of physically interactive sport games for children are derived from the common elements of physically interactive sport games and design for children. The derived elements are applied to actual game item to design a game for children. In this study, the elements of physically interactive sport games for children were applied to children's screen climbing games, and games could be identify improvements through user evaluation. It is expected games to take into consideration more children's characteristics can be designed by utilizing the elements of physically interactive sport games for children.

  • In this paper, we develop the thinking extension education program for the gifted students of information and prove the validity and effectiveness of the proposed model by presenting the Tic-tac-toe problem as the practical example of the information-gifted students. This model consists of four phases which has the game tree as data structure and the search of game lee as control structure. And the search of game tree becomes the basis of the thinking extension education program. This model gives the help for students to learn representing the problem as tree structure and solving the problem of tree structure using the search method of game tree. The internal ability of the information-gifted for thinking extension of this education program contains the fluency, perceptiveness, originality, power of concentration, imaginative power, analyzing skills, pattern recognition, space sense, synthesizing, problem-solving.
