Objectives : This study was aimed to investigate the methods for acupuncture and moxibustional treatment to insomnia Methods : The insomnia is classified by seven cause at main subject. According to this, arrange the acupuncture and moxibustional treatment for classical books, and explain eight meridian related to insomnia. Results : 1. Insomnia means deficiency of sleeping and it is the word generally used when a short period of sleeping, difficulty for deep sleeping and difficulty for recovery of original vital energy comes out. In oriental medicine, they understand that uneasiness condition occurred by abnormal operation of the internal organs as heart, liver, gallbladder, spleen, stomach, kidney, etc. caused by external affection or internal injury becomes Insomnia. 2. Cause of insomnia can be classified majorly as fire-transformation of liver and gallbladder , inner shaking of phlegm-heat , insufficiency of both the heart and the spleen, disharmony between heat and kidney, the dysfunction of the stomach, timidity of heart and gallbladder, the deficiency of Qi of the lung. They make insomnia with bad influence upon body and spirit. 3. The meridian system such as Heart Meridian of Hand Soeum, Pericardium Meridian of Hand Gworeum, Stomach Meridian of Foot Yangmyeong, Spleen Meridian of Foot Taeeum, Bladder Meridian of Foot Taeyang, Kidney Meridian of Foot Soeum, Gallbladder Meridian of Foot Soyang, Liver Meridian of Foot Gworeum and Lung Meridian of Hand Taeeum are used to treat insomnia. Sinmun acupoint and Naegwan acupoint are often used in particular because the they are good for calmming the spirit, the heart and purging the heart of (pathogenic) fire. 4. Especialy, Back-Su points of Bladder Meridian of Foot Taeyang was used by each causes. The Back-su Points was mainly used for heal the insomnia because the Back-Su points has good competent to control the ability of internal organs by direct effect to it. It is because the vitality flows through around back-Su. Conclusions : It comes to a conclusion as follows with research for relevancy of the main cause of insomnia and meridian system includes meridian point.

The purpose of this morphological studies was to investigate the relation to the meridian, acupoint and nerve. The common locations of the spinal cord and brain projecting to the the gallbladder, GB34 and common peroneal nerve were observed following injection of transsynaptic neurotropic virus, pseudorabies virus(PRV), into the gallbladder, GB34 and common peroneal nerve of the rabbit. After survival times of 96 hours following injection of PRV, the thirty rabbits were perfused, and their spinal cord and brain were frozen sectioned($30{\mu}m$). These sections were stained by PRV immunohistochemical staining method, and observed with light microscope. The results were as follows: 1. In spinal cord, PRV labeled neurons projecting to the gallbladder, GB34 and common peroneal nerve were founded in thoracic, lumbar and sacral spinal segments. Densely labeled areas of each spinal cord segment were founded in lamina V, VII, X, intermediolateral nucleus and dorsal nucleus. 2. In medulla oblongata, The PRV labeled neurons projecting to the gallbladder, GB34 and common peroneal nerve were founded in the A1 noradrenalin cells/C1 adrenalin cells/caudoventrolateral reticular nucleus, rostroventrolateral reticular nucleus, medullary reticular nucleus, dorsal motor nucleus of vagus nerve, nucleus tractus solitarius, raphe obscurus nucleus, raphe pallidus nucleus, raphe magnus nucleus, gigantocellular nucleus, lateral paragigantocellular nucleus, principal sensory trigeminal nucleus and spinal trigeminal nucleus. 3. In Pons, PRV labeled neurons were parabrachial nucleus, Kolliker-Fuse nucleus and cochlear nucleus. 4. In midbrain, PRV labeled neurons were founded in central gray matter and substantia nigra. 5. In diencephalon, PRV labeled neurons were founded in lateral hypothalamic nucleus, suprachiasmatic nucleus and paraventricular hypothalamic nucleus. 6. In cerebral cortex, PRV labeled neuron were founded in hind limb area.This results suggest that PRV labeled common areas of the spinal cord projecting to the gallbladder, GB34 and common peroneal nerve may be first-order neurons related to the somatic sensory, viscero-somatic sensory and symapathetic preganglionic neurons, and PRV labeled common area of the brain may be first, second and third-order neurons response to the movement of smooth muscle in gallbladder and blood vessels.These PRV labeled neurons may be central autonomic center related to the integration and modulation of reflex control linked to the sensory system monitoring the internal environment, including both visceral sensation and various chemical and physical qualities of the bloodstream. The present morphological results provide that gallbladder meridian and acupoint may be related to the central autonomic pathways.

The literatural study on the effect of acupuncture for tinnitus was studied from the viewpoint of acupuncture effect. The conclusions are as follows. 1. The ear manages kidney, it relates with the heart meridian of hand soeum, kidney meridian of foot soeum, lung meridian of hand taeeum, spleen meridian of foot taeeum, stomach meridian of foot yangmyeong, gallbladder meridian of foot soyang, triple energizer meridian of hand soyang, small intestine meridian of hand taeyang. 2. According to classification of meridian in acupuncture treatment of tinnitus triple energizer meridian of hand soyang 18.0%, gallbladder meridian of foot soyang 16.6%, bladder meridian of foot taeyang 16.6%, small intestine meridian of hand taeyang 9.7%, large intestine meridian of hand yangmyeong 8.3%, stomach meridian of foot yangmyeong 5.5%, spleen meridian of foot taeeum 4.1%, pericardium meridian of hand gworeum 4.1%, lung meridian of hand taeeum 2.8%, heart meridian of hand soeum 2.8%, kidney meridian of foot soeum 2.8%, liver meridian of foot gworeum 2.8%, conception channel 2.8%, governor channel 2.8% have been used much in turn. 3. In the general points GB2 24times, TE3 22times, TE17 22times, SI19 20times, TE21 20times, KI 3 19times, BL23 17times, LI4 15times have been used much in turn.

Objectives and Methods : The present study was to investigate the change of acupuncture point location of gallbladder meridian in head by way of reviewing classical literatures. Result and Conclusions : 1. The locations of acupuncture points closed-by anatomical marks such as GB1, GB2, GB3, GB11, GB12, GB19, GB20 are clear and accurate. 2. The expression of acupuncture points' locations of GB4, GB5, GB6, GB8 and GB10 are obscure in classical literature, but their locations became clear and objective in recent literatures. 3. The locations of GB9 and GB13 are open to dispute but WHO standard acupuncture point seems to be resonable. 4. In classical literature, the length from the midpoint of the anterior hairline to the midpoint of the posterior hairline is 12 B-cun, and the length from the midpoint of the anterior hairline to the GB19 is 5 cun, 5.5 cun or 6.5 cun. We presume that the length from GB15 to GB19 might have been measured by F-cun.

Objectives : Although previous anatomic, physiological and biophysics studies have examined the acupuncture meridian system, much remains unclear and controversial. This study was undertaken to examine electrical potential aspects of the meridian system. Electric potential was measured at the well and sea acupoints on the twelve acupuncture meridians (AM), on forty patients half with loin lesions, and pain of loin and lower extremities(LL) and half with shoulder lesions, and aching of shoulder and arm(SA). The object was to determine to what extent electric potential is an important risk factor between LL and SA. Methods : At the left and the right side with each of twenty LL and twenty SA patients, physiograph was used to measure electric potentials of AM ten sessions. T-test was used to compare the mean of electric potential between the two different pain groups and multiple logistic regression was used to analyze the risk of the 24 electric potentials measured. Results and Conclusions : In the LL, the only electric potential that was statistically significantly greater than SA was the bladder meridian on the left side. On the contrary, electric potentials in SA, which includes the large intestine, pericardium, triple burner, spleen, stomach, kidney and gallbladder meridians, were statistically larger than those of LL at the same side. On the right side, the five kinds of electric potentials(lung, large intestine, small intestine, pericardium and gallbladder meridian) of LL were statistically larger than those of SA. On the triple burner, stomach and kidney meridians electric potentials of SA were larger than those in LL. After adjusting for 24 electric potentials, pain risk factors, and different illness categories, multiple stepwise selection logistic regression modeling, resulted in the final selection of a total of 13 statistically significant electric potentials. These were 7 electric potentials at left side - small intestine, triple burner, spleen, stomach, bladder, liver and gallbladder meridian, and 6 at rght side - lung, large intestine, heart, pericardium, kidney and bladder meridian.

Facial expression was an important communication methods. In oriental medicine, according to the emotion the face has changed shape and difference occurs in physiology and pathology. To verify such a theory, we studied the correlation between emotional facial expressions and meridian and collateral flow. The facial region divided by meridian, outer brow was Gallbladder meridian, inner brow was Bladder meridian, medial canthus was Bladder meridian, lateral canthus was Gallbladder meridian, upper eyelid was Bladder meridian, lower eyelid was Stomach meridian, central cheeks was Stomach meridian, lateral cheeks was Small intestine meridian, upper and lower lips, lip corner, chin were Small and Large intestine meridian. Meridian and collateral associated with happiness was six. This proves happiness is a high importance on facial expression. Meridian and collateral associated with anger was five. Meridian and Collateral associated with fear and sadness was four. This shows fear and sadness are a low importance on facial expression than different emotion. Based on yang meridian which originally descending flow in the body, the ratio of anterograde and retrograde were happiness 3:4, angry 2:5, sadness 5:3, fear 4:1. Based on face of the meridian flow, the ratio of anterograde and retrograde were happiness 5:2, angry 3:4, sadness 3:5, fear 4:1. We found out that practical meridian and collateral flow change by emotion does not correspond to the expected meridian and collateral flow change by emotion.

Objectives : This paper aims to study how 'All articulations are controlled by the gallbladder' as urged by Heoim in Chimgugyeongheombang was reflected in the clinical field, and look into the reason for his assertion. Methods : The paper looked into Chimgugyeongheombang and 1) found examples of how acupoints related to gallbladder were used to treat articulation-related diseases, and 2) investigated the relation between gallbladder and articulations through analyzing the acupoints used for treating articulation-related diseases. These are then compared with Zhenjiuzishengjing to see if the assertions made in 'All articulations are controlled by the gallbladder' were actually applied in clinical fields. Results & Conclusions : Heoim dealt with 20 points out of the 44 acupoints for gallbladder, and used 14 of them for treatments of articulation-related diseases. Gallbladder acupoints were used for ten illnesses, and four of them were related to articulation. Chimgujasaenggyeong showed a difference in that it did not utilize gallbladder acupoints to treat these illnesses. Out of 33 articulation-related illnesses, gallbladder meridians and acupoints were suggested as a means to treat them in 15 cases, and this is an increase in the usage of these points compared to Chimgugyeongheombang. In other words, Heoim actively utilized gallbladder meridian points in treating articulation-related illnesses. The reason Heoim drew a line between gallbladder and articulations is because gallbladder is categorized as a lesser yang pivot and articulations itself functions as a pivot by acting as a pivot for human body movement.

A clinical observation was done on 98 cases performed neurometer diagnosis before Guibitang administration first, and rechecked neurometer diagnosis after Guibitang administration for 10 days. Electric current post administration was compared with ant administration. The following result were obtained. 1. A peak incidence was observed in 30-39 age group. 37 cases(37.8%) were in 30-39 age group. The ratio of male to female was 1:31.7. 2. Chief complaints were fatigue, menoxenia, indigestion, anorexia, constipation, headache, palpitation, insomnia etc. 3. The common result of neurometer point checking was that patients who had the pecularity of low electric current were much than patients who had the pecularity of high electric current. 4. By neurometer diagnosis a peak incidence was observed in gallbladder. Increment was also highest in gallbladder. Gallbladder has a function of psychomotility in oriental physiology. ?5. After Guibitang administration the increment of neurometer electric current was comparatively high in kidney, stomach, small intestine meridian. According to the above menthioned results I consider that Guibitang has the curative effects along the meridian selectively. and increases in function or preserves health within physycal limit.

Objective : The purpose of this study was to investigate treatment of myopia. Methods : Literature review on myopia in view of oriental and western medicine. Results & Conclusions : 1. The myopia begins from early childhood. But incidence of myopia increase as they grow older. 2. The main meridian was Bladder Meridian(Chok-taeyang), Gallbladder Meridian(Chok-soyang), Stomach Meridian(Chok-yangmyong), Governer Vessel(Dok), Lung Meridian(Shou-taeyin) in treatment of myopia. 3. Auricular Acupressure Therapy, Pig's mane Acupuncture Therapy and Plaster Therapy has good effect on myopia.

1. Causes of SSHL are deficiency of kidney, pathogen of wind, meridian of soyang and sutaeyang, and pathogen of fire. 2. Four methods are used to treat SSHL, heath cultivation, herbal medicine for internal use, external remedy and acumoxatherapy. 3. Meridians, those are related with treatment of SSHL, are Kidney Meridian(Chok-soyin), Triple energizer Meridian(Shou-soyang), Gallbladder Meridian(Chok-soyang), Large intestine Meridian(Shou-yangmyong) and Small intestine Meridian(Shou-taeyang). 4. Pokrong, Jolrong and Gualrong, those are appeared some oriental documentary records, are not same with SSHL correctly. 5. In oriental medically, Yirong contains SSHL except slow progress. To teat SSHL, it is helpful to investigate method according to each symptoms and conditions in oriental medical documentary records.
