  • The impact of the gate length (Lg) on the DC and high-frequency characteristics of indium-rich In0.8Ga0.2As channel high-electron mobility transistors (HEMTs) on a 3-inch InP substrate was inverstigated. HEMTs with a source-to-drain spacing (LSD) of 0.8 ㎛ with different values of Lg ranging from 1 ㎛ to 19 nm were fabricated, and their DC and RF responses were measured and analyzed in detail. In addition, a T-shaped gate with a gate stem height as high as 200 nm was utilized to minimize the parasitic gate capacitance during device fabrication. The threshold voltage (VT) roll-off behavior against Lg was observed clearly, and the maximum transconductance (gm_max) improved as Lg scaled down to 19 nm. In particular, the device with an Lg of 19 nm with an LSD of 0.8 mm exhibited an excellent combination of DC and RF characteristics, such as a gm_max of 2.5 mS/㎛, On resistance (RON) of 261 Ω·㎛, current-gain cutoff frequency (fT) of 738 GHz, and maximum oscillation frequency (fmax) of 492 GHz. The results indicate that the reduction of Lg to 19 nm improves the DC and RF characteristics of InGaAs HEMTs, and a possible increase in the parasitic capacitance component, associated with T-shap, remains negligible in the device architecture.

  • Many spoofing detection studies have been conducted to cope with the most difficult types of deception among various disturbances of GPS, such as jamming, spoofing, and meaconing. In this paper, we propose a spoofing detection scheme based on elevation masked-relative received power between GPS L1 and L2 signals in a system using a multi-band array antenna. The proposed scheme focuses on enabling spoofing to be normally detected and minimizes the possibility of false detection in an environment where false alarms may occur due to pattern distortion among elements of an array antenna. The pattern distortion weakens the GPS signal strength at low elevation. It becomes confusing to detect a spoofing signal based on the relative power difference between GPS L1 and L2, especially when GPS L2 has weak signal strength. We propose design parameters for the relative power threshold including beamforming gain, the minimum received power difference between L1 and L2, and the patch antenna gain difference between L1 and L2. In addition, in order to eliminate the weak signal strength of GPS L2 in the spoofing detection process, we propose a rotation matrix that sets the elevation mask based on platform coordinates. Array antennas generally do not have high usefulness in commercial areas where receivers are operated alone, but are considered essential in military areas where GPS receivers are used together with signal processing for beamforming in the direction of GPS satellites. Through laboratory and live sky tests using the device under test, the proposed scheme with an elevation mask detects spoofing signals well and reduces the probability of false detection relative to that without the elevation mask.

  • Objective: The objective of this study was to investigate the effect of heat stress on the growth traits and genetic parameters of Thai native chickens. Methods: A total of 16,487 records for growth traits of Thai native chickens between 2017 and 2022 were used in this study. Data included the body weight at birth, body weight at 4, 8, and 12 weeks of age (BW0, BW4, BW8, BW12), average daily gain during 0 to 4, 4 to 8, and 8 to 12 weeks of age (ADG0-4, ADG4-8, ADG8-12), absolute growth rate at birth, at 4, 8, and 12 weeks of age (AGR0, AGR4, AGR8, AGR12). The repeatability test day model used the reaction-norm procedure to analyze the threshold point of heat stress, rate of decline of growth traits, and genetic parameters. Results: At temperature and humidity index (THI) of 76, Thai native chickens began to lose their growth traits, which was the onset of heat stress in this study. The estimated heritability, genetic correlation between animal and heat stress effect, and correlations between the intercept and slope of the permanent environmental effects were 0.27, -0.85, and -0.83 for BW, 0.17, -0.81, and -0.95 for ADG, 0.25, -0.61, and -0.83 for AGR, respectively. Male chickens are more affected by heat stress than female chickens with a greater reduction of BW, ADG, and AGR, values equal to -9.30, -0.23, -15.21 (in males) and -6.04, -0.21, -10.10 (in females) gram per 1 level increase of THI from the THI of 76. Conclusion: The influence of thermal stress had a strong effect on the decline in growth traits and genetic parameters in Thai native chickens. This study indicated that genetic models used in conjunction with THI data are an effective method for the analysis and assessment of the effects of heat stress on the growth traits and genetics of native chickens.

  • Client requests have increased with the improvement of network resources at client side, whereas network resources at server side could not keep pace with the increased client request. Therefore, it is primary factor of the Qos that efficiently utilize network resources at server side. In this paper, we proposed a new model that peer-to-peer transfer scheme for partial multimedia stream based on CIWP which it decrease server network bandwidth by utilizing client disk resources saves additional server network resources. Especially, adapting Threshold_Based Multicast scheme guarantees to do that data transfer within clients never exceed service time of previous peer by restriction of which data size transferring from previous peer less than data size transferring from server. Peer-to-peer transfer within clients is limited in same group classified as ISPs. Our analytical result shows that proposed scheme reduces appling network resources at server side as utilizing additional client disk resource. furthermore, we perform various simulation study demonstrating the performance gain through comparing delay time and proportion of waiting requesters. As a result, when we compared to Threshold_Based Multicast scheme, the proposed scheme reduces server network bandwidth by 35%.

  • There are a lot of elements affecting the success of implant prosthesis. The quality of surgical procedure is considered as one of the key factors. To avoid the excess heat generation is an important element of successful osseointegration and it can be achieved by using a gentle surgical technique with a sharp instrument in bone drilling. This study was performed to measure and analyze comparatively the heat transmitted to sur-rounding bone at a distance of 0.5mm from the periphery of the drill hole in each drilling stage. The results were as follows. In standard system, the temperature of surrounding bone tissue ranged from $29.2^{\circ}C\;to\;48.3^{\circ}C$ with irrigation and from $34.6^{\circ}C\;to\;84.3^{\circ}C$ without irrigation. And in wide system, the temperature of surrounding bone tissue ranged from $29.5^{\circ}C\;to\;52.5^{\circ}C$ with irrigation and from $34.8^{\circ}C\;to\;87.8^{\circ}C$ without irrigation. And the temperature ranges exceeded the threshold without irrigation, while showing less than the threshold by the cooling effect of irrigation. In comparing standard system with wide system, although there was no significant difference, ${\phi}4.3mm$ pilot and ${\phi}4.3mm$ twist drill of wide system showed high value and wide system showed slightly high elevation of temperature in all depth in fixture installation. In the finite element analysis, the calculated value by the Fourier's cooling law were applied to the bone drilling surface. And through analysis using different irrigation temperatures at $28^{\circ}C,\;15^{\circ}C\;and\;5^{\circ}C$, and according to the time. The result was that the cooling water at least below $15^{\circ}C$ was required to maintain the temperature of surrounding bone less than threshold in bone drilling, the cooling water below $5^{\circ}C$ was required to gain more sufficient cooling effect, and cooling over 5 seconds was needed after bone drilling for sufficient effect.

  • This paper describes a simple delay diversity technique for terrestrial digital multimedia broadcasting (T-DMB) and digital audio broadcasting in a single-frequency network (SFN). For the diversity technique, a delay diversity scheme is adopted. In the delay diversity scheme, a non-delayed signal is transmitted in the first antenna, and delayed versions of the signal are transmitted in each additional antenna. For an SFN environment with multiple transmitters, delay diversity can be executed by controlling the emission times of the transmitters. This SFN delay diversity scheme does not require any hardware changes in either the transmitter or receiver, and perfect backward compatibility can be acquired. To evaluate the performance improvement, laboratory tests are executed with various types of commercial T-DMB receivers as well as a measurement receiver. The improvement in the bit error rate performance is evaluated using a measurement receiver, and an improvement of the threshold of visibility value is evaluated for commercial receivers. Test results show that the T-DMB system can obtain diversity gain using the described technique.

  • In this paper, fundamental driving method and selective driving each cells of charged particle type display are described. To fabricate panel, mask patterns with cell area of $500{\mu}m{\times}500{\mu}m$ are designed. Gain of driving voltage due to increase of cell gap is observed on the basis of fundamental driving method. To selectively drive each cells of charged particle type display that is driven by passive matrix method, selective driving of charged particle type display is achieved after establishing interrelation of voltage of select cell and unselect. And than crosstalk of the driven panel is observed. It can be found that the last image is maintained without additional voltage by memory effect.

  • OFDM is a very attractive technique for achieving high-bit-rate data transmission and high spectrum efficiency. However one of disadvantages of OFDM signal is the high PAPR characteristic when multicarriers are added up coherently. In this paper, we propose an adaptive PTS scheme using two threshold levels for PAPR reduction and reducing the amount of PAPR calculations with clipping scheme. Simulation results show that it is almost same between average bit error rate performance of the proposed scheme and that of a conventional scheme. Also, we obtain a great performance gain in the amount of calculations compared to the conventional scheme. Therefore, proposed system has a good performance in data processing time in OFDM wireless communication systems.

  • Gain-guided broad-area single quantum well separate confinement heterostructure diode lasers have been fabricated from structures grown by metal organic vapor phase epitaxy. The active layer of the epi-structure is InGaAs emitting 962-965nm and the guiding layer GaAs. The channel width is fixed to 150${\mu}$m and the cavity length varys within the range of 300~800${\mu}$m. For uncoated LD's, the output power of 0.7W has been obtaained at a pulsed current level of 2A, which results about 60% external quantum efficiency. The threshold current density is 200A/cm$^{2}$ for the cavity lengths of 800.mu.m LD's. The stain effect upon the transparent current density has been observed. The internal quantum efficiency is expected to be 88% and the internal loss to be 18$cm^{-1}$. The beam divergence has been measured to be 7$^{\circ}$to lateral and 40$^{\circ}$to transverse direction. finally, 1.2W continuous-wave output power has been obtained at a current level of 2A for AR/HR coated LD's die-bonded on Cu heat-sink and cooled by TEC.

  • Low power RF devices, such as RFID and Zigbee, are important for ubiquitous sensing. These devices, however, are powered by portable energy sources, such as batteries, which limits their use. To mitigate this problem, this study developed RF energy harvesting with W-CDMA for a low power RF device. Diodes are required with a low turn on voltage because the diode threshold is larger than the received peak voltage of the rectifying antenna (rectenna). Therefore, a Schottky diode HSMS-286 was used. A prototype of RF energy harvesting device showed the maximum gain of 5.8dBi for the W-CDMA signal. The 16 patch antennas were manufactured with a 10 dielectric constant PTFT board. In low power RF devices, the transmitter requires a step-up voltage of 2.5~5V with up to 35 mA. To meet this requirement, the Texas Instruments TPS61220 was used as a low input voltage step-up converter. From the evaluated result, the achievable incident power of the rectenna at 926mV to operate Zigbee can be obtained within a distance of 12m.
