Pig oocytes contain high levels of lipids in the ooplasm, which reduces the visibility of the germinal vesicle (GV) under microscopic examination. Therefore, the purposes of this study were to investigate the effects of relative centrifugation force (RCF) on the visibility and maturation rates of the GV stage oocytes after centrifugation. In Experiment 1, cumulus-oocyte-complexes (COCs) were collected from slaughterhouse ovaries and randomly allocated to different RCFs (3,000 rpm: 970 g; 6,000 rpm: 3,900 g; or 10,000 rpm: 10,840 g) for 10 or 20 min. Percentages of visible GV were 76-79% in the oocytes centrifuged with 10,000 rpm, which were significantly higher (p<0.01) than those with 3,000 and 6,000 rpm. No significant differences in GV visibility were observed among oocytes with different lengths of centrifugation (p<0.05) regardless of the RCFs. In esperiment 2, the maturation rate of the oocyte was found significantly lower in the 20 min than in the 10 min group received 10,840 g of RCF (30 vs. 75%, p<0.05). In conclusion, the GV of porcine oocytes can be clearly visible by centrifugation at 10,840 g for 10 min without compromising their subsequent maturation rates and a longer centrifugation time (20 min) had no beneficial influence on the visibility of GV stage pig oocytes.

Objectives : To investigate the meaning and the importance of needling or moxibustion- prohibited acupoints in Chimgugapeulgyeong(鍼灸甲乙經). Methods : We found needling or moxibustion-prohibited acupoints in Chimgugapeulgyeong, then investigated the causes of the prohibitions from the various literatures and the anatomical structures near the acupoints. Results : In Chimgugapeulgyeong, the needling and moxibustion-prohibited points were ST9, ST17, ST32, CV5, and CV15. The needling-prohibited points were LU2, LI13, ST12, BL56, KI2, KI7, TE8, TE19, GB3, CV8, GV24, and jwagak(左角). The moxibustion-prohibited points were LU3, LU8, ST1, ST7, ST8, ST30, ST33, BL5, BL6, BL15, BL30, TE18, TE21, TE23, GB22, GB33, GB42, GV6, GV15, GV16, GV17 and GV25. The major cause of developing prohibited needling or moxibustion was due to the possibility to damage vessels or organs near them; other causes were side effects brought by applying wrong stimulating method or inducing women sterilized. Conclusions : The prohibition of needling or moxibustion on the points found in Chimgugapeulgyeong had acceptable causes. Therefore the techniques of needling or moxibustion on the acupoint should be performed with care.

When endoplasmic reticulum (ER) functions are perturbed, the ER induces several signaling pathways called unfolded protein response to reestablish ER homeostasis through three ER transmembrane proteins: inositol-requiring enzyme 1 (IRE1), PKR-like ER kinase (PERK), and activating transcription factor 6 (ATF6). Although it is important to measure the activity of ATF6 that can indicate the status of the ER, no specific cell-based reporter assay is currently available. Here, we report a new cell-based method for monitoring ER stress based on the cleavage of $ATF6{\alpha}$ by sequential actions of proteases at the Golgi apparatus during ER stress. A new expressing vector was constructed by using fusion gene of GAL4 DNA binding domain (GAL4DBD) and activation domain derived from herpes simplex virus VP16 protein (VP16AD) followed by a human $ATF6{\alpha}$ N-terminal deletion variant. During ER stress, the GAL4DBD-VP16AD(GV)-$hATF6{\alpha}$ deletion variant was cleaved to liberate active transcription activator encompassing GV-$hATF6{\alpha}$ fragment which could translocate into the nucleus. The translocated GV-$hATF6{\alpha}$ fragment strongly induced the expression of firefly luciferase in HeLa Luciferase Reporter cell line containing a stably integrated 5X GAL4 site-luciferase gene. The established double stable reporter cell line HLR-GV-$hATF6{\alpha}$(333) represents an innovative tool to investigate regulated intramembrane proteolysis of $ATF6{\alpha}$. It can substitute active pATF6(N) binding motif-based reporter cell lines.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the acupuncture points and the The Meridians and Collaterals which are often applicable to Allergic Rhinitis treatment and to help us do a clinical diagnosis. In my discretion, to study Allergic Rhinitis, investigating rhinitis, syuffy nose and nasal mucus is essential. And 1 investigated the acupuncture points and The Meridians and Collaterals and dialectic patterns which are useful for the acupuncture and moxibustion treatment. 1 also investigated the correlation of the acupuncture points, and The Meridians and Collaterals and other dialectic patterns. The order of frequency in use of The Meridians and Collaterals is The Governor Vessel, The Large Intestine Meridian of Hand-Yangming, The Bladder Meridian of Foot-Taiyang and the order of frequency in moxibustion is The Governor Vessel, The Large Intestine Meridian of Hand-Yangming. In the acupuncturation of stuffy nose, there are 33 points, and the order of frequency in use is LU2O, GV23, LU4, GBI 5, GV2O, BL7, GV22. In the acupuncturation of nasal mucus, there are 21 points, and the order of frequency in use is LU2O,, GV23, GVl6, GV26, BLl2, GV2O, GB2O. It is thought that acupuncture points LU2O, GV23, LU4 can go through the nasal cavity and remove wind fever. And those are used for the face and the five sensory organs diseases. It means that those acupuncture points have similar efficacy. It is thought that The Meridians and Collaterals of The Governor Vessel, The Large Intestine Meridian of Hand-Yangming, The Bladder Meridian of Foot-Taiyang go on a patrol near nose and cure nose disease.

Two dogs with hindlimb paralysis were referred to the Teaching Animal Hospital of Chonbuk National University. We performed an acupuncture in two cases. Case No.1 was a 5-year-old, 3kg intact mixed breed female dog presented with hindlimb paralysis during last 3 days. Physical examinations, CBC, serum chemistry, urinalysis and radiography carried out. The diagnosis was the thoracolumbar disk disease of Tl2-Tl3 on the basis of above these tests. Acupoints selected were Lumbosacral point, GV-5(Xuan Shu), GV-20(Bai Hui), GB-30(Huan Tiao), GB-31(Feng Shi), ST-36(Zu San Li) and GB-34(Yang Ling Quan). we performed an acupuncture therapy five times at 2 days intervals for 15 minutes each time. Case No.2 was 7-year-old, 6.0kg, mixed breed male dog which was presented with the history of hindlimb paralysis since 2 months. The medical history of the patient revealed that the condition did not respond to medicinal therapy. The diagnosis was the thoracolumbar disk disease of Tl3-Ll and left patellar luxation (one or two grade). We decided to perform acupuncture in this case also and the Lumbosacral point, GV-5(Xuan Shu), GV­6(Ji Zhong), GV-7(Zhong She), GB-30(Huan Tiao), GB-31(Feng Shi), ST-36(Zu San Li), GB-34(Yang Ling Quan) were used. We performed acupuncture therapy at day 3, 6, 8 and 10 for 15 minutes each time. The response to an acupuncture therapy in two patients was good and the patients were almost recovered from hindlimb paralysis.

Objectives : This research aimed to verify the validities of contraindicated acupoints in acupuncture treatment in Zhenjiudacheng. Methods : We investigated contraindicated acupoints when performing needling in Zhenjiudacheng, then verified them in today's medical knowledge and clinical studies. Results : In Zhenjiudacheng, 39 acupoints - LU2, LI4, LI13, LI14, LI16, ST1, ST9, ST12, ST17, ST25, ST30, ST42, SP6, SP11, SI18, BL8, BL9, BL56, KI11, TE7, TE8, TE19, TE20, GB3, GB18, GB21, GV10, GV11, GV17, GV22, GV24, CV1, CV4, CV5, CV8, CV9, CV15, CV17 and EX-HN11 - were described to need a careful approach in acupuncture treatment and 21 acupoints among them had contraindications. Most of the contraindications can be explained based on anatomical knowledge and results of clinical studies, and acupuncture treatment at the 39 contraindicated acupoints can induce injury of tissues or organs near the acupoints. Conclusions : The contraindicated acupoints in acupuncture treatment in Zhenjiudacheng seem to have been classified based on the adverse events experienced by doctors at that time. Therefore careful acupuncture treatment at these acupoints is needed to avoid injury to tissue or organs.

Objective : To report seborrheic dermatitis of the scalp which is treated by Bee-venom Acupuncture therapy. Methods : Under the assumption that Be-venom Therapy may be effective for treatment seborrheic dermatitis, Bee-venom acupuncture was injected subcutaneously into the lesion including Gv24(神庭), Gv23(上星), Gv22, Gv20(白會), B4(曲差), B5(五處), B6(承光), S8(頭維), etc. Results : The symptoms including erythematous plaque, scale, itching were resolved clearly except a little scale by Bee-venom acupuncture Therapy. Conclusions : Bee-venom acupuncture Therapy is effective in the treatment of seborrheic dermatitis. if more clinical trials like this are proved to be effective in seborrheic dermatitis, we can expect that Bee-venom acupuncture Therapy is used to treatment of seborrheic dermatitis as good method.

Background and Purpose: The efficacy and safety of GV1001 have been demonstrated in patients with moderate-to-severe Alzheimer's disease (AD). In this study, we aimed to further demonstrate the effectiveness of GV1001 using subscales of the Severe Impairment Battery (SIB), which is a validated measure to assess cognitive function in patients with moderate-to-severe AD. Methods: We performed a post hoc analysis of data from a 6 month, multicenter, phase 2, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial with GV1001 (ClinicalTrials.gov, NCT03184467). Patients were randomized to receive either GV1001 or a placebo for 24 weeks. In the current study, nine subscales of SIB-social interaction, memory, orientation, language, attention, praxis, visuospatial ability, construction, and orientation to name-were compared between the treatment (GV1001 1.12 mg) and placebo groups at weeks 12 and 24. The safety endpoints for these patients were also determined based on adverse events. Results: In addition to the considerable beneficial effect of GV1001 on the SIB total score, GV1001 1.12 mg showed the most significant effect on language function at 24 weeks compared to placebo in both the full analysis set (FAS) and per-protocol set (PPS) (p=0.017 and p=0.011, respectively). The rate of adverse events did not differ significantly between the 2 groups. Conclusions: Patients with moderate-to-severe AD receiving GV1001 had greater language benefits than those receiving placebo, as measured using the SIB language subscale.

Objectives : The purpose of this study is to search for more effective methods of diagnosis and treatment of Communication Disorder with Post-Stroke. Methods : Literature review on Communication Disorder with Post-Stroke in view of oriental and western medicine. Conclusions : Communication Disorder with Post-Stroke is relative with aphasia in western medicine, Sul-um(舌瘖) oriental medicine Aphasia, apraxia of speech, and dysarthria come after strock Each of them has its own mechanism. Yomchon(CV23), Amun(GV15), Chuldol(CV22), Tongni(HT5), Pungnyung(ST40), Pungbu(GV16), Chigu(TE6), Yongchon(KI1), Hapkok(L14), Peakoe(GV20), Kokchi(LI11), Puryu(KI7), Shinsu(BL23), Kumjin-okaek, and Chohea(KI6) was used on Communication Disorder with Post-Stroke treatment.

Objective : This study is designed to find out the effects of Carthmi-Flos Herbal acupuncture therapy on shoulder pain. Methods : Under the assumption that Bee-venom Therapy may be effective for treatment seborrheic dermatitis, Bee-venom acupuncture was injected subcutaneously into the lesion including Gv24(神庭), Gv23(上星), Gv22, Gv20(白會), B4(供差), B5(五處), B6(承光), S8(頭維), etc. Results : 1. Female patients were 18 cases and these were more 12 cases than male patients. Fifty aged patients were the most(11 cases, 36.7%). 2. Below 1 month duration of disease was the most(14 cases 46.7%). 3. The effects of treatment by condition of patients was follows : After treatment, Grade IV was decreased 26.7%, Grade III was decreased 6.6% and Grade II was increased 23.3%. 4. The effects of treatment by Duration was follow : Below 1 month & 1 month to 6 month were improved highly. 5. In evaluating of satisfaction, exellent was 6 cases, and good was 19 cases. The percentage of above good was 83.3%. Conclusions : According to the results, Carthmi-Flos Herbal acupuncture may be good effects on the decrease of shoulder pain.
