Boring the process of curing of the tobacco ( Nicotiana tabacum L. clicks) leaf, the and other fundamental components of the tobacco leaf was observed The amount of total chlorophyll was reduced from 2902$\mu\textrm{g}$/gr to 1, 131$\mu\textrm{g}$/gr as a function of curing time. In the case of total carotene, the concentration was increased from 373-712$\mu\textrm{g}$/gr. to 3, 003~2, 215$\mu\textrm{g}$/gr. up to 70 hours of curing period. However, after 70 hours of curing, the concentration of total carotene stared to be decreased up to 1, 050~1, 039$\mu\textrm{g}$/gr. Simultaneously, the greenish yellow color becomes to be close an intermediate color between yellow and orange. The amount of total nicotine and nitrogen (2~2%) in the green harvested leaf was essentially identical after the curing process. However, the amount of total sugar was enhanced from 17%, in the green harvested leaf, to 35% at the time of 70 hours curing. At the end of the curing, the amount of total sugar was again reduced up to 16%. The correlation coefficient (r) between the axis of the color coordinate and the ratio of chlorophyll/carotene was estimated to be r=-0.96. This result indicates a linear relationship between those two parameters and the following linear equation is obtained as y=28.87-68.38 x. From the above equation, x=0.442 could be estimated when chlorophyll was completely decomposed (ylongrightarrowO). As a consequence of this result, we can suggest the tobacco leaf of Hicks belongs to the high quality level.

This study was performed to investigate the repeated-dose toxicity of Leuconostoc citreum GR1 (Leuc. citreum GR1), a lactic acid bacterium isolated from kimchi, in male and female rats. Sprague-Dawley male and female rats were divided into four group (ten animals in each group) and Leuc. citreum GR1 was administered daily by gavage to rats at dosage levels of 0, 500, 1,000, or 2,000 mg/kg/day for four weeks. There were no bacterial-related deaths or abnormal clinical signs in either gender of rats during the observation period. Furthermore, no differences were found between the control and treatment groups in terms of body weight, food intake, and water consumption. Hematological parameters, serum biochemical analysis, and histopathological examination also showed insignificant dose-dependent alterations. There were also no alterations in organ weights upon administration of Leuc. citreum GR1 alone. These results suggest the oral application of Leuc. citreum GR1, up to a dosage level of 2,000 mg/kg, causes no adverse effects in both male and female rats.

In order to evaluate the effect of Ginseng Radix(GR) against endocrine disrupting chemicals(EDC), cultured mouse osteoblasts were preincubated with various concentrations of GR extract before the exposure of Bisphenol A for 12 hours. Cytotoxic effect of Bisphenol A was measured by the XTT assay. In addition, the protective effect of GR over Bisphenol A-induced cytotoxicity on osteoblasts was assessed by the DNA and protein synthesis in these cultures. The results were as follows : Osteoblastic cell viability was decreased in dose and time dependent manner after exposed to various concentrations of Bisphenol A. Midcytotoxicity value(MCV50) of Bisphenol A was determined at 6μM Bisphenol A after osteoblasts were grown for 12 hours in the media containing various concentrations of Bisphenol A. Amount of DNA synthesis was increased in dose-dependent manner after cultured osteblasts were pretreated with GR for 2hrs before exposure to Bisphenol A for 12 hours. Amount of protein synthesis was increased in dose-dependent manner after cultured osteoblasts were pretreated with GR for 2 hours before exposure of Bisphenol A for 12 hours. From these results, it is suggested that Bisphenol A was highly toxic by the decrease of the cell viability, and GR is effective in the prevention of Bisphenol A-induced cytotoxicity by the increase of DNA and protein syntheses in cultured mouse osteoblasts.
The objectives of this study were to examine the prevalence of gingival recession (GR)and cervical abrasion(CA) and to relate some considered factors to them. We selected 308 subjects, consisting of male 174 and female 134, who had 14 teeth at least. As age increased, the prevalence rates of GR & CA was increased. And both the rates of GR & CA were higher in male than in female. Interestingly, the effect of alcohol consumption was the highest in GR and smoking affected CA highly among several variables. However, we could not prove the direct relationship between drinking & smoking and GR & CA. Only we assumed poor oral hygiene due to drinking & smoking as one of predisposing factors. The result of this study did not show the obvious factor which affected GR and CA greatly. The present study suggested that GR & CA should be related to a number of factors.
Memory bandwidth requirements of UHD (Ultra High Definition $4096{\times}2160$) game scenes have been much more increasing. This paper presents a lossless DPCM-GR based compression algorithm using CUDA for solving the memory bandwidth problem without sacrificing image quality, which is modified from DDPCM-GR [4] to support bit parallel pipelining. The memory bandwidth efficiency increases because of using the shared memory of CUDA. Various asynchronous transfer configurations which can overlap the kernel execution and data transfer between host and CUDA are implemented with the page-locked host memory. Experimental results show that the maximum 31.3 speedup is obtained according to CPU time. The maximum 30.3% decreases in the computation time among various configurations.
Dried apple bugak, a traditional Korean dried food, was made using superfine powders of glutinous rice (GR), non-glutinous rice (NGR), and Wasabia koreana Nakai leaf (WKNL) as coating materials. This study aimed to determine the effect of coating sliced apples with superfine GR powders substitute with superfine NGR and WKNL powders at different ratios. Apple slices coated with superfine GR, NGR and WKNL powders were air-fried and compared with dried and air-fried apple bugak coated with superfine GR powders. The results showed that coating apple slices with superfine GR powders with the addition of superfine NGR and WKNL powders significantly increased oil absorption capacity and antioxidant activity but reduced viscosity, water absorption capacity, total polyphenol, total flavonoids contents, and improved color and structural improvements. Among all the samples, 80:20:5-treated (GR:NGR:WKNL) dried and air-fried bugak showed enhanced quality characteristics. Thus, the results suggested that coating apple slices by the substituting GR superfine rice powders with 10 or 20% of NGR and 3 or 5% of WKNL superfine powders produces good quality dried and air-fried bugak with nutritious characteristics.

A new modified carbon paste electrode (CPE) was constructed based on nickel oxide nanoparticles (NiONPs) and graphene nanosheets (Gr) for simultaneous determination of paracetamol (PCM) and mefenamic acid (MFA) in aqueous media and pharmaceutical dosage forms. NiONPs were synthesized via a simple and inexpensive technique and characterized using X-ray diffraction method. Scanning electron microscopy was used for the characterization of the morphology of modified carbon paste electrode (NiONPs/Gr/CPE). Voltammetric studies suggest that the NiONPs and Gr provide a synergistic augmentation that can increase current responses by improvement of electron transfers of these compounds on the NiONPs/Gr/CPE surface. Using cyclic voltammetry, the NiONPs/Gr/CPE showed good sensitivity and selectivity for the determination of PCM and MFA in individually or mixture standard samples in the linear range of $0.1-30{\mu}g\;mL^{-1}$. The resulted limit of detection and limit of quantification were 20 and $60ng\;mL^{-1}$ for PCM, 24 and $72ng\;mL^{-1}$ for MFA, respectively. The analytical performance of the NiONPs/Gr/CPE was evaluated for the determination of PCM and MFA in pharmaceutical dosage forms with satisfactory results.

[11C]GR205171, a Neurokinin 1 (NK1) radioligand, has been known as such a promising PET probe for quantitation of NK1 receptors in the brain by positron emission tomography (PET) imaging. First trial to synthesis of [11C]GR205171 was to use methylene chloride and tetrabutylammonium hydroxide for preactivation of precursor, but the result was not successful in radiochemical yield (0~25%) and unreliable. 7 years later, inorganic base (Cs2CO3) was tried to achieve higher radiochemical yield, and they showed higher yield (~53%). We have tried to repeat the same synthesis method, but it did not work properly, because there were the lack of the detail procedure and still reproducibility in radiochemical yield. Here we report the improved synthesis protocol to produce [11C]GR205171 in high yield via commercial automated synthesizer. The sonicator which combines water heating bath was used to activate desmethyl-GR205171, and this method showed high efficiency and reasonable yields (4.7 ± 0.6%, non-decay corrected from molecular sieve trap) with >95% radiochemical purity.
The objective of this investigation was to develop a gastro-retentive(GR) dosage form of gabapentin and was to evaluate of its dissolution characteristics. GR tablet consists of expandable core tablet matrix and semi-permeable membrane coating. Poloxamer 407 and sodium bicarbonate were used to prepare the core matrix. Polyvinly acetate dispersion (Kollicoat $SR30D^{(R)}$) and polyvinyl alcohol-polyethylene glycol copolymer ((Kollicoat $IR^{(R)}$)) were employed to form the semi-permeable membrane. The GR tablets significantly expanded up to fivefold in simulated gastrointestinal fluids with no apparent damage of the coating membrane over 12 hours. Also, the swelling rate was controllable with the amount of sodium bicarbonate. The drug release was observed to be substantially sustained based on coating level. The release rate of gabapentin from the GR tablet was gradually slowed down as the coasting amount was increased. The gabapentin GR tablet with 8% coating level showed a pseudo-zero order release kinetics over 12 hours. These results suggest that this swellable GR tablet system having semi-permeable membrane coating can be applicable for hydrophilic drug substances like gabapentin.

The PVDF(polyvinylidene fluoride) film sensor as one of smart sensors has good characteristics to detect the impact damages of composite structures. The capabilities of the PVDF film sensor for evaluating impact behaviors and damages of Gr/Ep laminates subjected to low-velocity impact were examined. From sensor signals, the specific wave-forms implying the damage were detected. The wavelet transform(WT) and Short Time Fourier Transform(STFT) were used to decompose the piezoelectric sensor signals in this study. The impact behaviors of Gr/Ep laminates were simulated and the impact forces were reconstructed using the sensor signals. Finally, the impact damages were predicted by finite element analysis with the reconstructed forces. For experimental verification, a series of low-velocity impact tests from low energy to damage-induced energy were carried-out. The extent of damage in each case was examined by means of ultrasonic C-scan and the measured damage areas were agreed well with the predicted areas by the F.E.A.
