Researches about 3-D Positioning system using GPS were carried out many-sided by national organs, laboratories, the worlds of science. And most of researches were development of relative positioning algorithm and its applications. Relative positioning has a merit, which can eliminate error in received signals. But its error increase due to distance of baseline. GPS absolute positioning is a method that decides the position independently by the signals from the GPS satellites which are received by a receiver at a certain position. And it is necessary to correct various kinds of error(clock error, effect of ionosphere and troposphere, multi-path etc.). In this study, results of PPP(Precise Point Positioning) used Bernese GPS software was compared with notified coordinates by the NGII(National Geographic Information Institute) in order to analyze the positional accuracy of permanent GPS sites. And the results were compared with results of AUSPOS - Online GPS Processing Service for comparison with relative positioning.

The position accuracy is primarily dependent on the satellite position and signal delay caused by several elements. To know the effect of the delay on the estimated positions, we simulated GPS raw data (RINEX) with GPS errors using Bernese ver5.0. GPS errors used in this paper are Ionospheric delay, Cycle slip, Troposphere, DOP and Random error. If the baseline is short, the position error according to TEC is not large, since the ionospheric delay effect can be removed by ion-free combination. However, if the baseline is long, 3 dimensional position error up to 10cm is occurred. The 3D position error of coordinates with cycle slip is hardly ever changed up to 60% of cycle slip. Because the simulated cycle slips are equally distributed on satellites, the positioning was not seriously affected by the cycle slip. Also, if percentage of cycle slip is 60%, three dimensional error is sharply increased over 1m. The position error is calculated by using the observation data (2 hours) which was selected by DOP less than 3. And its accuracy is more improved about $3{\sim}4cm$.

Control point survey by GPS can save labor and time and can obtain result of high accuracy, but if excessive error is contained to Control point that is used to GPS relative positioning, the error that has influence on new point is propagated to various configuration. therefore poor triangulation points that are caused by careless management are existed, a product of the triangulation points still are in many case. In order to select new point, this study carried out error-analysis of surrounding-control-points and performed selective process of control point. The propriety parts of control points that are used to verify precision is identified by means of comparing existing product with or GPS product about some control points after directly observe each baseline by using EDM. As the error is analyzed by static positioning the optimum control point is selected, the precision of survey data by EDM is improved than GPS data.

In the study, the open area keeping a few visible satellites and the urban area covered with the high building, an electric pole were chosen far evaluation of accuracy of satellite positioning. First, suggest the validity of GPS/GLONASS, TS/RTK-GPS, and compared the accuracy with that of the classical surveying method. As a result, In static relative surveying, the difference of between the known cadastral supplementary control station and that of the acquired is 0.000∼.0006m in GPS alone, GPS/GLONASS, and In the RTK-GPS/TS, 0.010∼0.077m on the non-ambiguity fixed solutions in the urban area 0.008∼0.078m in the open area. it proved to be valid because it is within the allowed connecting errors, i.e 12cm on the baseline of loom in l/l,200 cadastral map.

For a high resolution real-time kinematic GPS surveying using carrier phase, positioning accuracy according to the OTF initialization was better than 1 cm with more than 5-minute initialization within 20 km baseline. Also, it is recommended that measurements be carried out when PDOP and RDOP can be kept less than 4.0 since the geometrical layout of satellites has a great influence on the positioning accuracy. After considering the initial conditions and measuring time zone for real-time kinematic GPS. post-processed continuous kinematic GPS and real-time kinematic GPS measurements have been carried out. A new system has been proposed to store measured data by using a program developed to store GPS data in real time and to monitor the satellite condition through controller at the time of measurement. As a result, it has been revealed that possible noise in surveying could be corrected and the accuracy could be improved.

In order to support the development of a cost-effective river bathymetric system, this research has focused on modeling GPS observables, which are obtained by array of five single-frequency receivers (i.e., two references and three rovers) to estimate the high accurate kinematic position, and the surveying vessel altitude. Also, by applying all GPS measurements as multiple-baselines with constraining rover baselines, we derived the socalled ‘kinematic network model.’ From the model, the integer-constrained least-squares (LS) for position estimation and the implicit LS for attitude determination were implemented, while a series of simulation tests with respect to the baseline lengths around 2km performed to demonstrate its accuracy analysis. The on-the-fly (OTF) ambiguity resolution tests revealed that ninety-nine percents of time-to-fix-first ambiguity (TTFF) can be decided in less than two seconds, when the positioning accuracy of ambiguity-fixed solutions was assessed as the greater than or equal to one and two centimeters in horizontal and vertical, respectively. Comparing to the GPS-derived attitudes, the achievable accuracy gradually descended in sequence of yaw, pitch and roll due to the antenna geometric configuration. Furthermore, the RMSE values for the baseline lengths of three to six meters were within ±1′for yaw, and less than ±10′and ±20′for pitch and roll, respectively, but those of between six to fifteen meters were less than ±1′for yaw, ±5′for pitch, and ±10′for roll.
This paper deals with performance assessment of the kinematic network-based GPS positioning technique with a view to using it for ellipsoidally referenced bathymetric surveys. To this end, two field trials were carried out on a land vehicle and a surveying vessel. Single-frequency GPS data acquired from these tests were processed by an in-house software which equips the network modeling algorithm with instantaneous ambiguity resolution procedure. The results reveals that ambiguity success rate based on the network model is mostly higher than 99.0%, which is superior to that of the single-baseline model. In addition, achievable accuracy of the technique was accessed at ${\pm}1.6cm$ and 2.7 cm with 95% confidence level in horizontal and vertical component respectively. From bathymetric survey at the West Nakdong River in Busan, Korea, 3-D coordinates of 2,011 points on its bed were computed by using GPS-derived coordinates, attitude, measured depth and geoid undulation. Note that their vertical coordinates are aligned to the geoid, the so-called orthometric height which is widely adopted in river engineering. Bathymetry was constructed by interpolating the coordinate set, and some discussion on its benefit was given at the end.
The accuracy of user position by GPS is heavily dependent upon the accuracy of satellite position which is usually transmitted to GPS users in radio signals. The real-time satellite position information directly obtained from broadcast ephimerides has the accuracy of 3~10 meters which is very unsatisfactory to measure 100km baseline to the accuracy of less than a few mili-meters. There are globally at present seven orbit analysis centers capable of generating precise GPS ephimerides and their orbit quality is of the order of about 10cm. Therefore, precise orbit model and phase processing technique were reviewed and consequently precise GPS ephimerides were produced after processing the phase observables of 28 global GPS stations for 1 day. Initial 6 orbit parameters and 2 solar radiation coefficients were estimated using batch least square algorithm and the final results were compared with the orbit of IGS, the International GPS Service for Goedynamics.

GPS signal delay that caused by dry gases and water vapor in troposphere is a main error source of GPS point positioning and it must be eliminated for precise point positioning. In this paper, we implemented to generate tropospheric delay grid map over the Korean Peninsula based on post-processing method by using the GPS permanent station network in order to determine the availability of tropospheric delay generation algorithm. GIPSY 5.0 was used for GPS data process and nationwide AWS observation network was used to calculate the amount of dry delay and wet delay separately. As the result of grid map's accuracy analysis, the RMSE between grid map data and GPS site data was 0.7mm in ZHD, 7.6mm in ZWD and 8.5mm in ZTD. After grid map accuracy analysis, we applied the calculated tropospheric delay grid map to single frequency relative positioning algorithm and analyzed the positioning accuracy enhancement. As the result, positioning accuracy was improved up to 36% in case of relative positioning of Suwon(SUWN) and Mokpo(MKPO), that the baseline distance is about 297km.

The objective of GPS control surveying is ultimately to determine coordinate sets of control points within targeted accuracy through a series of observations and network adjustments. To this end, it is of equivalent importance for the accuracy of these coordinates to be realistically represented by using an appropriate method. The accuracy representation can be quantitively made by the variance-covariance matrices of the estimates, of which features are sensitive to the mathematical models used in the adjustment. This paper deals with impact of functional and stochastic modeling techniques into the accuracy representation of the GPS control surveying with a view of gaining background for its standardization. In order to achieve this goal, mathematical theory and procedure of the single-baseline based multi-session adjustment has been rigorously reviewed together with numerical analysis through processing real world data. Based on this study, it was possible to draw a conclusion that weighted-constrained adjustment with the empirical stochastic model was among the best scheme to more realistically describe both of the absolute and relative accuracies of the GPS surveying results.
