Improvement of OPW-TR Algorithm for Compressing GPS Trajectory Data

  • Massive volumes of GPS trajectory data bring challenges to storage and processing. These issues can be addressed by compression algorithm which can reduce the size of the trajectory data. A key requirement for GPS trajectory compression algorithm is to reduce the size of the trajectory data while minimizing the loss of information. Synchronized Euclidean distance (SED) as an important error measure is adopted by most of the existing algorithms. In order to further reduce the SED error, an improved algorithm for open window time ratio (OPW-TR) called local optimum open window time ratio (LO-OPW-TR) is proposed. In order to make SED error smaller, the anchor points are selected by calculating point's accumulated synchronized Euclidean distance (ASED). A variety of error metrics are used for the algorithm evaluation. The experimental results show that the errors of our algorithm are smaller than the existing algorithms in terms of SED and speed errors under the same compression ratio.

The Data Processing Method for Small Samples and Multi-variates Series in GPS Deformation Monitoring

  • Time series analysis is a frequently effective method of constructing model and prediction in data processing of deformation monitoring. The monitoring data sample must to be as more as possible and time intervals are equal roughly so as to construct time series model accurately and achieve reliable prediction. But in the project practice of GPS deformation monitoring, the monitoring data sample can't be obtained too much and time intervals are not equal because of being restricted by all kinds of factors, and it contains many variates in the deformation model moreover. It is very important to study the data processing method for small samples and multi-variates time series in GPS deformation monitoring. A new method of establishing small samples and multi-variates deformation model and prediction model are put forward so as to resolve contradiction of small samples and multi-variates encountered in constructing deformation model and improve formerly data processing method of deformation monitoring. Based on the system theory, a deformation body is regarded as a whole organism; a time-dependence linear system model and a time-dependence bilinear system model are established. The dynamic parameters estimation is derived by means of prediction fit and least information distribution criteria. The final example demonstrates the validity and practice of this method.

자연재난 관리를 위한 GPS 기반의 지진재해 분석 (Analysis about Seismic Displacements Based on GPS for Management of Natural Disaster)

  • 2011년 3월 11일 일본 동북부 해양에서 규모 9.0의 강진이 발생했다. 이 지진은 근대적인 지진관측이 시작된 이래 일본 최대 규모로 미야기 현 센다이 동쪽 179km 지점에서 발생했으며, 지진과 해일로 인해 2만 7천여 명에 이르는 사상자가 발생하였다. 본 연구에서는 일본 IGS 상시관측소의 GPS 관측자료를 기반으로 Mizusawa, Tsukuba 및 Usuda 상시관측소의 지진변위량을 산출하였다. 관측자료의 처리는 온라인 GPS 자료처리 서비스와 정밀과학기술용 소프트웨어를 이용하였으며 정밀절대측위 및 싱대측위 방법으로 처리하였다. 온라인 GPS 자료처리 서비스를 이용한 Kinematic 정밀절대측위를 통해 지진 전 후 IGS 상시관측소의 위치변화를 모니터링하고, 정밀과학 기술용 소프트웨어를 이용한 상대측위 방법으로 지진 전 후의 정밀한 지진변위량을 산출하였다. 연구결과 각 성분별로 최대 ${\pm}0.003m$의 RMSE를 가지는 정밀한 좌표성과를 산출할 수 있었으며, 지진으로 인해 Mizusawa 상시관측소가 남동쪽으로 약 2.6m 이동하였음을 알 수 있었다.

  • In order to meet the users demand, who needs faster and more accurate data in geographic information it is necessary to obtain and process the data more effectively. Now more effective data obtainment about geographic information is possible through the development of unified technology, which is applied to the field of geographic information, as well as through the development of hardware and software engineering. With the fast and precise correction and update, the development of unified technology can bring the reduction of the time and money. For the obtainment of geographic information which can meet the demand of the users, the unified technology has been applied to various fields, and in Aerial Photogrammetry field, many are doing researches actively for the GPS/INS unified system. To obtain fast and precise geographic information using Aerial Photogrammetry method, it is necessary to develop Airborne GPS/INS unified system, which makes GCP to the minimum. For this reason, this study has tried to develop a system which could unite and process both GPS and INS data. For this matter, code-processing module for DGPS and OTF initialization module, which can decide integer ambiguity even in motion, have been developed. And also, continuous kinematic carrier-processing module has been developed to calculate the location at the moment of filming. In addition, this study suggests a possibility of using a module, which can unite GPS and INS, using Kalman filtering, and also shows the INS navigation theory.

TPEG-GPS 데이터를 활용한 실시간 교통정보 검증 시스템 개발에 관한 연구 (A study on development of verification system for real-time traffic data using TPEG data and GPS device)

  • 본 연구에서는 TPEG(Transport Protocol Expert Group)의 수신 플랫폼을 개발하고 이에 대한 정확도를 검증하기 위한 실시간 검증 플랫폼을 개발하였다. GPS 장치를 갖춘 차량을 통해 얻은 실제 도로 교통정보와 같은 시간의 TPEG 데이터를 수신하고 파싱하여 얻어진 교통정보를 비교했다. 그 결과 TPEG은 실제 교통정보와 차이가 발생함을 알 수 있었다.

  • The occurrence of cycle slips is a major limiting factor to attain high precision positioning and navigation results with GPS. Cycle slips must be correctly repaired at the data processing stage. In this study, the technique to find cycle slips in the processing of data collected with Trimble 4700 GPS receivers is suggested. The use of Kalman filtering techniques is used in an attempt to reduce the effect of the noise in the different quantities involved and to improve the accuracy in cycle slip correction.

Frequency analysis of GPS data for structural health monitoring observations

  • In this study, low- and high-frequency structure behaviors were identified and a systematic analysis procedure was proposed using noisy GPS data from a 165-m-high tower in ${\dot{I}}stanbul$, Turkey. The raw GPS data contained long- and short-periodic position changes and noisy signals at different frequencies. To extract the significant results from this complex dataset, the general structure and components of the GPS signal were modeled and analyzed in the time and frequency domains. Uncontrolled jumps and deviations involving the signal in the time domain were pre-filtered. Then, the signal was converted to the frequency domain after applying low- and high-pass filters, and the frequency and periodic component values were calculated. The spectrum of the tower motion obtained from the filtered GPS data had dominant peaks at a low frequency of $1.15572{\times}10-4Hz$ and a high frequency of 0.16624 Hz, consistent with two equivalent GPS datasets. Then, the signal was reconstructed using inverse Fourier transform with the dominant low frequency values to obtain filtered and interpretable clean signals. With the proposed sequence, processing of noisy data collected from the GPS receivers mounted very close to the structure is effective in revealing the basic behaviors and features of buildings.

GPS/GIS를 이용한 PDA기반 GIS 소프트웨어 엔진 연구 (The Study on the GIS Software Engine based on PDA using GPS/GIS)

  • GIS (Geographic Information Systems) technology is a necessary function to support location based on service by using GPS in the mobile environment. These mobile systems have basic functional limitations such as a low rate of processing, limited memory capacity, and small screen size. Because of these limitations, most of the mobile systems require development of a reduced digital map to overcome problems with large-volume spatial data. In this paper, we suggest using the reduced digital map format in order to use location based on service in a PDA environment. The processing of the proposed data format consists of map generation, redefinition of layers, creating polygons, and format conversion. The proposed data format reduces the data size by about 98% comparing with DXF format based on the digital map of Busan.

GPS/INS 통합 항법 시스템용 모니터링 시스템 설계 (Monitoring System Design for the GPS/INS Integrated Navigation System)

  • We propose the monitoring system scheme for the CPS/INS integrated navigation system. The design requirements of the monitoring system are suggested and the software scheme based on GUI is proposed. The proposed monitoring system consists of an I/O interface part, a navigation data display part, and a post-processing part. The I/O interface part is responsible for data communication between the monitoring system and a navigation computer unit. The navigation data display part provides various display methods to show the navigation data to user in real-time. The post-processing part collects the navigation data to analyze the performance of navigation system. The proposed monitoring system software was developed using the Visual C++ programming language and a van test was carried out to demonstrate the real-time operation of the monitoring system. The test result shows that the proposed monitoring system can be effectively applied to the CPS/INS integrated navigation system.

GPS 상시관측소 동적 좌표추정을 위한 중기선해석 정확도의 실험적 분석 (Experimental Assessment on Accuracy of Kinematic Coordinate Estimation for CORS by GPS Medium-range Baseline Processing Technique)

  • 본 논문에서는 지진 등으로 인해 발생하는 절대 지각변위 추정에 GPS 상시관측망의 동적기선해석 기법의 적용 가능성을 실험을 통해 정확도와 정밀도 측면에서 분석하였다. 국내 관측소의 절대좌표 추정을 위해 국외 관측소가 데이터처리에 포함 할 필요가 있어 실험 네트워크는 관측점 사이 거리가 수 백 ∼ 약 1,000km에 달하는 중기선으로 구성하였다. 따라서 대상 관측점의 동적 거동특성을 매개변수 추정단계에 반영하는 일련의 절차를 적용하여 GPS 동적 중기선해석 실험을 수행하였다. 이를 통하여 GPS 동적 중기선해석을 통해 센티미터 수준의 정확도와 그 이상의 정밀도로 GPS 상시관측소의 절대좌표를 동적모드로 추정할 수 있음을 확인하였다. 또한 본 논문은 위성궤도력, 관측데이터양 그리고 동적좌표 추정의 초기좌표 구속범위와 같은 기선해석 조건들이 동적좌표 추정 정확도와 정밀도에 미치는 영향을 분석하고 그 결과를 요약하고 있다.
