The Economic Impact of Excavation Work Failure on a Construction Project (터파기 공사 사고가 공사에 미치는 경제적 영향)

  • As increase of the land price at downtown area, it makes people more and more interested of improving the space utilization such as makes buildings bigger, deeper and higher. Therefore, the importance of the underground construction which is the basic principle has been increased. As constructors have to complete underground construction as soon as possible with the minimum costs, they concentrate on the whole process of underground structure. Although they makes every these efforts, construction failure still happen because of the uncertainty of the condition of soil and the unexpected danger of underground construction. To make matter worse, there are only some examples without detailed information like 'how much this breakdown damage to the construction?' so it is the anther problem that most of people doesn't recognize the economical negative impact of underground structure breakdown. This report would make people understood the importance and risk of the underground construction by showing some analysis which was assumed from the real accidents.

Development of Leader Selection Algorithm to Support Fault Tolerance of Integrated Management Systems in the Naval Combat System (함정 전투체계에서 통합 통제 시스템의 고장 감내를 지원하기 위한 리더 선정 알고리즘 개발)

  • The naval combat system is a distributed system in which various subsystems are integrated and operated together. The integrated management system(IMS) is a software system for systematically and consistently managing the application software which control and operate various devices in such a combat system. Since the malfunction or failure of such an IMS can disable the entire combat system, the IMS is more important than other application software of the combat system. In this paper, we propose a method to guarantee the stable and correct operation of the combat system. To this end, we propose a redundancy scheme composed of one leader and several followers so as to tolerate the failure situation of the IMS. We also propose a leader selection algorithm to select a new leader when the leader fails and can no longer perform its role. To verify the validity of the study, we verify the fault tolerance behavior of the system and the accuracy of the leader selection algorithm.

Dynamic Analysis to Select Main Parts of Four-Axis Palletizing Robots (4축 이적재 로봇의 주요 부품 선정을 위한 동적 해석)

  • The demand for industrial robots is proliferating with production automation. Industrial robots are used in various fields, such as logistics, welding, and assembly. Generally, six degrees of freedom are required to move freely in space. However, the palletizing robot used for material management and logistics systems typically has four degrees of freedom. In designing such robots, their main parts, such as motors and reducers, need to be adequately selected while satisfying payload requirements and speed. Hence, this study proposes a practical method for selecting the major parts based on dynamic analysis using ADAMS. First, the acceleration torques for the robot motion were found from the analysis, and then the friction torques were evaluated. This study introduces a constant-speed torque constant instead of friction coefficient. The RMS torque and maximum power of each motor were found considering the above torques. After that, this study recommends the major specifications of all motors and reducers. The proposed method was applied to a palletizing robot to verify the suitability of the pre-selected main parts. The verification result shows that the proposed method can be successfully applied to the early design stage of industrial robots.

  • Among the various industrial robots, palletizing robots have received particular attention because of their higher productivity in accordance with technological progress. When designing a palletizing robot, the main components, such as the servo motors and reducers, should be properly selected to ensure its performance. In this study, a practical method for selecting the motors and reducers of a robot was proposed by performing the dynamic analysis of rigid-flexible multibody systems using ANSYS and ADAMS. In the first step, the links and frames were selected based on the structural analysis results obtained from ANSYS. Subsequently, a modal neutral file (MNF) with information on the flexible body was generated from the links and frames using modal analysis through ANSYS and APDL commands. Through a dynamic analysis of the flexible bodies, the specifications of the major components were finally determined by considering the required torque and power. To verify the effectiveness of the proposed method, the analysis results were compared with those of a rigid-body model. The comparison showed that rigid-flexible multibody dynamic analysis is much more useful than rigid body analysis, particularly for movements heavily influenced by gravity.

A Study on Efficient Methods of Cadastral Resurvey Responsible Agency Operation (지적재조사 책임수행기관 운영의 효율화 방안 연구)

  • In this study, we tried to suggest a plan to improve the efficiency of operation after analyzing the actual conditions by selecting case areas operated by the cadastral resurvey responsible agency system. The research results are as follows. In the evaluation of the selection of a cadastral resurvey agency, a method to raise the qualitative evaluation score was suggested. The expansion of support for the cadastral resurvey agency made it possible to automatically connect and install when the LandyGo program is updated, and suggested that prior training should be stipulated in the related regulations. In the performance of cadastral resurvey surveying and division of duties, the installation of temporary boundary monuments and determine boundary monuments should be integrated. And this suggested the direction of conserving the project cost of the cadastral resurvey agency through joint implementation. Also, in the short-term and long-term perspectives, a plan for realization of project cost distribution in connection with the expansion of the entrustment of the cadastral resurvey responsible agency was presented. If the responsible agency system is operated by reflecting the results of this research, it is expected to improve the satisfaction of the project participants and shorten the project period.

Terrestrial LiDAR Measurements and Analysis of Topographical Changes on Malipo Beach (지상 LiDAR를 이용한 만리포 해변 정밀 지형측량 및 지형 변화 분석)

  • A terrestrial LiDAR was used to acquire precise and high-resolution topographical information of Malipo beach, Korea. Terrestrial LiDAR and RTK-DGPS (VRS) were mounted on top of a survey vehicle and used to scan 20 times stop-and-go method with 250 m spacing intervals at ebb tides. In total, 7 measurements were made periodically from 2008 to 2009 and after each beach replenishment event. We carried out GIS-based 3D spatial analysis such as slope and volume calculations in order to assess topographical changes over time. In relation to beach replenishment, comparative analysis of each volume change revealed them to be similar. This result indicates that the terrestrial LiDAR measurements are accurate and can be used to analyze temporal topographical changes. In conclusion, the methodology employed in this study can be used efficiently to exercise coastal management through monitoring and analyzing beach process such as erosion and deposition.

  • This paper proposes an evaluation to Target Factor Values of Port State Control Inspections(PSCITFV) using AHP because PSCITFV is very simple methode, This AHP is the more rational and objective methode than existing TFV methode. AHP is relative measurement., but, weights should be re-calculation whenever alternative plan add. To this solve, therefore, this paper, used an absolute measurement and involved an marine casualty factor in PSCITFV, that IMO go ahead with it., Also, accomplished with evaluation some ships for the practice.

A study to choose damping material used to reduce floor impact noise considering structural stability of Ondol layer (온돌층의 구조안정성을 고려한 바닥충격음 완충재의 선정기준에 관한 연구)

  • In this study, long-term compression displacement of damping materials used to reduce floor impact noise and compressive load that crack begins to happen in Ondol layers including the material were measured as basic research to make guide line for right choice of damping material considering structural stability of Ondol layer. From the result, it was found that compression displacement by elapsed time as well as early displacement of damping material when load is applied on Ondol layer are should be included in the guide line for the choice of damping materials. And no problem is expected to be in structural stability of Ondol layer in case choose a damping material that compression displacement at three months later from inflict load is within 10% than initial thickness.

  • 한국천문연구원의 대형광학망원경 개발사업(K-GMT)은 거대마젤란망원경(GMT; Giant Magellan Telescope)의 지분 10% 확보를 목표로 2009년부터 2018년까지 수행하고 있는 사업이다. 2009년 GMT사업에 공식 참여한 한국천문연구원은 GMT 이사회와 과학자문위원회 등에 적극적으로 참여하여 활동하였다. 본 사업의 2차년도에 해당하는 2010년에는 K-GMT 과학기기워킹그룹을 중심으로 거대망원경 여름학교와 국제워크숍을 개최할 예정이며 GMT 이사회 한국 개최, GMT 부경 시험 모델 개발, GMT 1세대 관측기기 후보로 선정된 GMTNIRS 개념설계연구 등이 수행될 예정이다. 본 발표에서는 GMT 및 K-GMT의 2010년 주요 활동 계획을 보고한다.

  • 디젤 엔진 배기가스 중의 황산화물(SOx)은 산성비의 원인이 될 뿐 아니라 인체에 대해서도 상당히 치명적인 위험을 초래하는 성분으로 지금까지는 다른 오염물질인 질소산화물 (NOx), 입자상 물질(particulate matter) 등에 비해서 상대적으로 덜 주목을 받아왔다. 국제적인 황산화물 배출규제의 경우, '황산화물 배출규제지역' (SECA : SOx Emission Control Area)에 대해 엄격한 배출규제가 시행되고 있는데, 대부분 황함량을 1.5%이하의 연료를 사용하거나, 후처리 설비를 설치해서 배기가스 중의 황산화물을 6.0g/kWh 이하로 유지하도록 규정하고 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 강화되고 있는 디젤엔진 배기가스 중의 황산화물과 입자상 물질을 저감하기 위한 설비로서, 높은 경제성 및 신뢰성 등의 장점으로 인해 선정 가능성이 가장 높은 스크러버 시스템에 대해 독자모델 설계를 수행하였으며 파일롯 설비를 활용한 실제 디젤엔진에 대한 실험을 통하여 운전조건에 따른 제거효율, 발생되는 처리수의 성분, 그리고 디젤엔진 운전에 영향을 미치는 압력손실 등에 대한 데이터를 확보함으로써 실제 선박적용에 대한 가능성을 확인하였다.
