  • 색온도 및 광색 가변형 100W RGBY LED 투광기를 개발하기 위하여, 투광기의 광학 및 방열기구를 설계하였다. 또한 100W LED 광원모듈을 구동하기 위한 구동회로와 색온도 및 광색 가변을 위한 제어회로를 개발하였다. 이와 같은 설계결과를 적용하여 100W RGBY 투광기의 시제품을 제작하였고, 시제품의 광학적 성능은 협각 $20^{\circ}$, 중각 $50^{\circ}$, 광각 $75^{\circ}$이상을 만족시켰다. 또한 색온도의 변화는 CIE 1931 색좌표에서 흑체궤적과 일치하여 $2,000K{\sim}10,000K$까지 변화하도록 R,G,B,Y LED의 Duty Ratio를 설정하였다. 또한 방열 특성은 100W 구동시 녹색 LED의 온도는 $37{\sim}41.3^{\circ}C$, heatsink의 온도는 $34{\sim}35^{\circ}C$에서 동작되도록 하였다.

Spike protein D614G and RdRp P323L: the SARS-CoV-2 mutations associated with severity of COVID-19

  • The severity of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), caused by the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), greatly varies from patient to patient. In the present study, we explored and compared mutation profiles of SARS-CoV-2 isolated from mildly affected and severely affected COVID-19 patients in order to explore any relationship between mutation profile and disease severity. Genomic sequences of SARS-CoV-2 were downloaded from Global Initiative on Sharing Avian Influenza Data (GISAID) database. With the help of Genome Detective Coronavirus Typing Tool, genomic sequences were aligned with the Wuhan seafood market pneumonia virus reference sequence and all the mutations were identified. Distribution of mutant variants was then compared between mildly and severely affected groups. Among the numerous mutations detected, 14408C>T and 23403A>G mutations resulting in RNA-dependent RNA polymerase (RdRp) P323L and spike protein D614G mutations, respectively, were found predominantly in severely affected group (>82%) compared with mildly affected group (<46%, p < 0.001). The 241C>T mutation in the non-coding region of the genome was also found predominantly in severely affected group (p < 0.001). The 3037C>T, a silent mutation, also appeared in relatively high frequency in severely affected group compared with mildly affected group, but the difference was not statistically significant (p = 0.06). We concluded that spike protein D614G and RdRp P323L mutations in SARS-CoV-2 are associated with severity of COVID-19. Further studies will be required to explore whether these mutations have any impact on the severity of disease.

Ba 육방정 페라이트의 소결 특성 및 마이크로파 특성 (Sintering and Microwave Properties of Ba Hexagonal Ferrite)

  • The sintering and high frequency electro-magnetic properties of Ba-hexagonal ferrite were investigated. All samples of the Ba-hexagonal ferrite were prepared by the conventional mixed oxide method and sintered at $1150^{\circ}C$~$1400^{\circ}C$. From the X-ray diffraction patterns of sintered Ba-hexagonal ferrite, the $Ba_3Co_2Fe_{24}O_{41}$ phase was represented as main phase in the almost sintering conditions. The bulk densities with sintering temperature and decreased at $1400^{\circ}C$. The permittivity ($\varepsilon$') and loss tangent of permittivity ($\varepsilon$"/$\varepsilon$') of $Ba_3Co_2Fe_{24}O_{41}$ ceramics increased and decreased with sintering temperature, respectively. The permeability of $Ba_3Co_2Fe_{24}O_{41}$ ceramics decreased with sinteirng temperature. The loss tangent of permeability was not changed compared each other with sintering temperature. The bulk density of $Ba_3Co_2Fe_{24}O_{41}$ ceramics sintered at $1300^{\circ}C$ was 4.79 g/$cm^3$. The permittivity, loss tangent of permittivity and permeability, loss tangent of permeability were 19.896, 0.1718 and 14.218, 0.2046 at 210 MHz, respectively.

미생물을 이용한 원유 및 원유제품의 분해 특성

  • 토양으로부터 2종류 그리고 해양으로부터 1종류의 원유 분해 미생물을 분리하였고, 이들을 strain A132, strain F722 그리고 strain OM1으로 각각 명명하였다. 이들 미생물은 Acinetobacter sp., Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Acinetobacter calcoaceticus로 각각 동정되었다. Strain A132. F722의 최적 배양 및 분해온도는 $35^{\circ}C$ 이고, 최적 생장 pH는 각각 8과 9에서 나타났다. 원유를 유일한 탄소원으로 하여 배양을 하였을 때 원유농도 2.0%(w/v)에서 생장이 높았다. 한편, 해양에서 분리된 strain OM1은 pH 7, 원유농도 3.0%(w/v)에서 생장이 높았다. 원유 분해능 조사에서는 Eleuthera (OMAN) 원유를 2.0%(w/v) 기질로 하였을 때, strain A132가 $25^{\circ}C$에서 $5.49g/\;l\;{\cdot}\;day$의 분해능을 나타내었다. 반면, L-Zakum (AFRICA) 원유에서는 strain F722가 $35^{\circ}C$에서 $1.19g/\;l\;{\cdot}\;day$의 분해능을 보였다. 등유$(nC_9-nC_{20})$와 경유$(nC_9-nC_{28})$에 대하여 분해특성을 조사한 결과 strain OM1은 배양 7일 후 95, 75%를 각각 분해하였다. Strain F722는 배양10일 후 80%의 분해율을 나타내었다.

  • For the production of poly(3-hydroxybutyrate-co-3-hydroxyvalerate)(P(3HB-co-3HV)) from butyric acid and valeric acid, 10 strains of bacteria capable of producing P(3HB-co-3HV) were isolated from soil. Among them, the strain HJ-067 showed the best ability of producing P(3HB-co-3HV), and was indentified as a Azotobacter sp. For the production of P(3HB-co-3HV), the optimum concentrations of butyric and valeric acid were 3.0g/l, respectively. The most effective nitrogen source was $(NH_4)_{2}SO_4$ at an optimum concentration of 0.75g/l, which was equivalent to 21.36 in C/N ratio. Deficiency of the cationic metal ions ($Zn^{2+},\;Co^{2+},\;Mn^{2+}$) in the proguction medium had stimulating effect on P(3HB-co-3HV) accumulation, especially in the manganese. deficient medium. The optimum temperature for P(3HB-co-3HV) production was 27$^{\circ}C$ and the optimum initial pH was 7.0. Under the optimum conditions, 1.82g/l of P(3HB-co-3HV) and 3.00g/l of dry biomass were produced after 36 hour cultivation, and the P(3HB-co-3HV) yield and HV% were 60.60% (w/w), 15.92%, respectively.

Effects of Moisture and Barrel Temperature of Extrusion Process on Physicochemical and Functional Properties of Specialty Rice Cultivars

  • Mutant rice cv. Goami2 (G2) and Baegjinjoo (BJJ) derived from a high-quality japonica rice cv. Ilpumbyeo (IP) were extruded under different feed moisture (20 and 30%) and barrel temperature (90, 110, and $130^{\circ}C$). Increasing feed moisture at fixed barrel temperature increased extrudate density (ED) in IP and BJJ. Whereas, G2 showed a varied ED depending on extrusion conditions; increasing barrel temperature decreased the ED of G2 extrudate with low feed moisture, but increased with high moisture. Results indicated a positive barrcl temperature effect on volume expansion in IP and G2, but a negative effect on 811, probably due to shrinkage of expanded products containing low-amylose contents. A significant increase of water absorption was found in G2 and BJJ extruded flour, while an increase of water solubility in those from IP. Non-digestible carbohydrates measured by total dietary fiber (TDF) indicated that extrusion increased slightly TDF in IP and BJJ extrudates, but decreased in G2 products, which might be variety-dependent.

테프그라스 조직배양을 통한 캘러스 형성 및 식물체 재분화 효율 (Callus Induction and Plant Regeneration Efficiency According to Tissue Culture Conditions in Teff grass (Eragrostis))

  • Teff grass is a warm season C4 annual grass that is used for dry hay, silage and haylage. We have developed a high-frequency plant regeneration system for teff grass via callus culture using mature seeds. It was revealed that mature seeds cultured on MS medium supplemented with 2 mg/l 2,4-D, 0.5 g/L proline, 0.5 g/L casamino acid and 3 g/L Gelrite under light condition produced the highest percentage of callus formation (91.9%). Addition of cytokinins (BA) at 0.0~0.5 mg/L to media containing 2 mg/l 2,4-D enhanced callus growth. The most suitable medium for plant regeneration from dehydrated calli was MS agar medium supplemented with 0.1 mg/l NAA, 1 mg/l BA, 0.5 g/L proline, 0.5 g/L casamino acid 3 g/L Gelrite which induced the highest percentage of calli forming shoots (47.0%). The shoots were rooted at the highest rate (100%) when transferred onto 1/2 MS medium and acclimated in greenhouse conditions.

저장기간 및 저장온도에 따른 꽃게풍미 볶음밥의 품질변화 (Changes in quality of fried rice with crab meat depending on the storage period and temperature)

  • 꽃게 조미소재, 야채, 천연조미료 등을 활용하면서, 편의성을 부여하기 위하여 꽃게풍미 볶음밥을 제조하였다. 꽃게풍미 볶음밥의 저장 중 품질변화를 조사하기 위해 -20, 4, $25^{\circ}C$에서 6주 동안 저장하면서 pH, 산도, 총균수, TBA, VBN, 관능적 기호도를 조사하였으며, 총균수 결과를 활용하여 볶음밥의 유통 기한을 예측하였다. pH 변화를 조사한 결과, $-20^{\circ}C$에 저장된 볶음밥의 경우 저장 0주째 pH는 7.74이었고 저장 6주에는 pH 7.76으로 나타나 저장 중 변화가 거의 없는 것으로 나타났다. 적정산도를 조사한 결과, $-20^{\circ}C$에 저장된 볶음밥의 경우 저장 0주째에 0.4%이었고 저장 6주에는 0.4%로 거의 변화가 없었다. 반면, $4^{\circ}C$$25^{\circ}C$의 저장 6주에는 각각 2.7%, 4.6%의 수준으로 나타났다. TBA 값을 측정한 결과, $-20^{\circ}C$에 저장한 볶음밥의 경우 저장 0주째 $1.07{\mu}g/g$이었고, 저장 6주까지 $1.39{\mu}g/g$으로 나타나 저장 중 다소 증가하는 경향을 보였다. 휘발성염기질소를 조사한 결과, $-20^{\circ}C$에 저장된 볶음밥의 경우 저장 0주째에 26.60 mg%이었고, 저장 6주에는 28.14 mg%로 나타나 신선도가 유지되는 것으로 사료되었다. $4^{\circ}C$$25^{\circ}C$의 저장 6주에는 각각 65.15 mg%, 68.00 mg% 수준으로 나타났다. 총균수의 변화를 조사한 결과, $-20^{\circ}C$ 저장된 볶음밥의 경우 저장 0주째 3.58 log CFU/g이었고 저장 6주째에는 4.11 log CFU/g으로 나타나 미생물변화는 안정적인 것으로 관찰되었다. 관능적 기호도를 조사한 결과, $-20^{\circ}C$에 저장된 볶음밥의 경우 종합적 기호도의 변화를 보았을 때, 저장초기 7.8이었고 6주째에는 6.7으로 나타나 저장 기간 동안 처리구 중 가장 높은 평가를 받았다. $25^{\circ}C$의 경우 저장초기 7.5이었으나, 저장 6주째 1.0 수준의 평가를 받아 저장온도 및 저장기간 동안 가장 낮은 평가를 받았다. 미생물 결과를 토대로 볶음밥의 유통기한을 예측한 결과, $-20^{\circ}C$에 저장할 경우 14.9주, $4^{\circ}C$에서 저장할 경우 0.4주 인 것으로 각각 조사되었다. 이상의 결과를 종합해 볼 때, 꽃게풍미 볶음밥은 $-20^{\circ}C$에서 저장하는 것이 미생물학적 및 관능적인 측면에서 저장성이 좋을 것으로 사료되었고, 편의식품화로서의 이용 가능성이 있을 것으로 생각되었다.

꽃게를 첨가한 김치의 품질특성 (Quality Characteristics of Kimchi Added with Blue Crab)

  • 본 연구는 김치의 염도를 낮추고 영양과 기능성을 높이고자 꽃게를 첨가하여 제조한 김치의 이화학적 특성 및 관능평가를 실시하여 최적의 꽃게첨가김치제조 표준레시피를 확정하고자 실시하였다. 꽃게살을 10g, 30g, 50g, 70g, 90g으로 첨가량을 달리하여 김치를 제조하였고, $5^{\circ}C$에서 1일, 15일, 30일 동안 숙성시키면서 일반성분 및 유리아미노산 함량 및 숙성기간에 따른 품질특성을 비교 분석하였다. pH는 꽃게살 90g을 첨가한 경우 15일, 30일 경과 후 4.10, 4.25로 가장 높게 나타났으며 대조군 4.02, 4.13으로 나타나 꽃게 첨가량이 많음에 따라 숙성과정 중 pH변화가 적었다. 산도는 0일째에 대조군 0.5%, 꽃게첨가군 모두 0.7%였으며, 꽃게살 70g 첨가 15일 숙성김치 0.87%, 30일 숙성김치 1.00%로 가장 높게 나타났다. 염도는 대조군 1.26%, 꽃게살 70g 첨가시 1.00%, 90g첨가시 0.93%로 젓갈을 줄이고 꽃게살을 증가시킴으로써 염도는 감소하였다. 유산균수는 꽃게살을 50g 첨가한 김치가 숙성되는 동안 급격히 증가하였다. 김치숙성 중 맛에 영향을 미치는 유리아미노산함량은 대조군 372.6mg%, 꽃게를 첨가한 김치 537.5mg%로 꽃게를 첨가한 경우 높게 나타났으며, 특히 taurine, threonine, glutamic acid, glycine, alanine, phenylalanine 성분이 높게 나타났다. 관능평가 결과 꽃게육수와 꽃게살을 50g첨가하고 $5^{\circ}C$에서 15일간 보관한 김치의 색, 향, 전체적인 기호도가 높게 나타나, 결과적으로 젓갈을 줄이고 꽃게를 첨가하여 제조한 김치는 숙성되어감에 따라 감칠맛, 숙성된 맛의 기호도가 증가하고 염도는 감소하며 산도가 낮음을 알 수 있었다.

Association between Prostaglandin-endoperoxide Synthase 2 (PTGS2) Polymorphisms and Blood Pressure in Korean Population

  • Blood pressure refers to the force exerted by circulating blood on the walls of blood vessels, and chronical elevation of blood pressure is known as hypertension. Although hypertension is affected by genetic and environmental factors, the genetic background of hypertension is not fully understood. One of the candidate genetic factors, Prostaglandin-endoperoxide synthase 2 (PTGS2), is a membrane-bound enzyme, catalyzing the conversion of arachidonic acid to prostaglandin, and recently SNPs of PTGS2 gene was associated with hypertension in Japanese population. Therefore the association of PTGS2 polymorphisms was investigated with blood pressure in healthy Korean subjects, 470 unrelated individuals randomly selected from Ansung and Ansan cohorts. The 25 SNPs of PTGS2 gene were identified by the sequencing analysis of 24 Korean samples. Among identified polymorphisms, three SNPs (rs689466, -1329A>G; rs5275, +6365T>C; rs4648308, +8806G> A) were selected for further association analysis, and rs689466 located in promoter region was associated with blood pressure as well as triglyceride level in the blood. By in silico analysis, rs689466 locates in v-Myb transcription factor binding site, and the v-Myb site disappears when the SNP is changed from A to G nucleotide. Individuals with A/G and G/G genotype in rs689466 have higher blood pressure than those with A/A genotype, and the regression p-value is 0.008 for systolic and 0.004 for diastolic blood pressure. In summary, the PTGS2 polymorphism (rs689466) is associated with blood pressure in Asian populations based on this and Japanese studies, shedding light on it as a genetic risk marker of hypertension.
