목단피 약침이 고지혈증과 동맥경화에 미치는 영향에 대한 실험적 연구 (The Effect of Herbal-acupuncture with Moutan Cortex Radicis Extract)

  • Objective & Methods : The present study was to investigate the effect of Moutan Cortex Radicis Herbal-acupuncture (MCR-HA) at GB34 (Yangleungchean) on hyperlipidemia and arteriosclerosis induced by high fat diet in rats. Results : 1. Moutan Cortex Radicis herbal-acupuncture infusion solution (MCR-HAS) increased DPPH radical scavenging activity and HMG-CoA reductase inhibition rate in rat liver cells. 2. MCR-HA at GB34 decreased serum total cholesterol level, and increased serum phospholipid/total cholesterol in rats with high fat diet. 3. MCR-HA at GB34 decreased atherogenic index in rats with high fat diet. 4. MCR-HA at GB34 increased hepatic catalase activity in rats with high fat diet. Conclusion : These results suggested that Moutan Cortex Radicis herbal-acupuncture at GB34 has therapeutic effects on hyperlipidemia and related complications in rats with high fat diet.

362 kV GIB 내에서 건조공기의 절연파괴 특성 (Breakdown Characteristics of Dry Air under 362 kV GIB)

  • In this paper, we studied the dielectric breakdown voltage characteristics by the AC withstand voltage test on using green insulation dry air instead of $SF_6$ insulation gas used in the GIB (gas insulated bus) of 362 kV GIS (gas insulated switchgear). The AC withstand voltage test applied to the standard KEPCO's 362 kV GIB with dry air insulation, and the equivalence of dielectric breakdown voltage for dry air and $SF_6$ gas were examined, and the empirical formulas of dielectric breakdown voltage for dry air were calculated, and the criterion of AC withstand voltage test for dry air insulation was derived. Using the criterion, dry air can be used instead of $SF_6$ gas for 362 kV GIB in the factory acceptance test was confirmed.

  • 본 논문에서는 10Gb/s 클럭/데이터 재생회로의 설계와 제작된 특성에 대해 기술한다. 회로는 알루미나 기판 위에 고속 IC와 초고주파 회로를 이용하여 구현하였다. 주파수와 위상 잠금(frequency and phase locked loop)을 위해 quadri-correlation 방법을 이용하였다. 주파수 잠금 범위는 150MHz 였으며 발생된 rms 지터는 1.0ps 이하였다. 이러한 클럭/데이터 재생회로를 10Gb/s광수신기에 적용하여 동작특성을 확인할 수 있었다.

협계보(俠谿補) 상양사(商陽瀉) 자침(刺鍼)이 즉효성(卽效性)을 보인 두통(頭痛) 15례(例) (The clinical study on 15 cases of immediate effects of acupoints(GB43, LI1) for headache)

  • Objective : The purpose of this study is assistant to medical treatment for patient who suffers from headache, by immediate effects of GB43, LI1. Methods : The degree of pain was measured by visual analogue scale(VAS) after GB43, LI1 needling. Results : 15 cases of immediate effects of GB43, LI1 for headache have some common points. 1. The pain of headache was induced by internal cause. 2. The pain of headache was in chronic process. 3. The patients has chronic functional dyspepsia and psychological factors. Conclusion : We can expect immediate effects by GB43, LI1 needling for headache, which have some common points.

삼음교-현종 전침 자극이 EEG에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Electroacupuncture at the SP 6 (Sameumgyo)-GB 39 (Hyeonjong) on the EEG)

  • Objectives : The aim of this study was to examine the effects of electro-acupuncture(EA) at the SP6(Sameumgyo)-GB39(Hyeonjong) on normal human EEG using power spectral analysis. Methods : EEG power spectrum exhibit site-specific and state-related differences in specific frequency bands. In this study, power spectrum was used as a measure of complexity(LAXTHA Co., KOREA). 30 channel EEG study was carried out in 20 subjects $(20\;males;\;age=21.4{\pm}0.5\;years)$. Results : In $\alpha$(alpha) band, the power values at F4 channels(p<0.05) during the SP6-GB39 acupoints treatment was significantly increased. But, the power values at Fz channel during the non-acupoint treatment was significantly decreased . In $\beta$(beta) band, the power values at Fz, FTC1, T3 channels(p<0.05) was significantly increased during the SP6-GB39 acupoints treatment. In $\delta$(delta) band, the power values at F4, C3, Cz, CP1, Pz channels(p<0.05) during SP6-GB39 acupoints treatment were significantly decreased.

  • Fabry disease (FD) is an X-linked inborn error of glycoshpingolipid metabolism resulting from mutation in the enzyme ${\alpha}$-galactosidase A gene. The disease is an X-linked lipid storage disorder and the lack of ${\alpha}$-Gal A causes an intracellular accumulation of glycosphingolipids, mainly globotriaosylceramide (Gb-3). Measurement of Gb-3 in plasma has clinical importance for monitoring after enzyme replacement therapy for confirmed FD patients. Using electrospray ionization MS/MS we had developed, a simple, rapid, and highly sensitive analytical method for Gb-3 in plasma was used for the purpose of screening FD among high risk groups in Korean population. To date, no comprehensive results for FD screening have been performed and reported in Korea. We screened 1,100 outpatients from 13 hospitals (including clinics) to assess the incidence of FD among patients in high risk groups. For patients with borderline level amount of Gb-3, we repeated Gb-3 or performing complementary or confirmative assay with ${\alpha}$-Gal A activity and DNA mutaion analysis for confirmation diagnosis. Of 1,100 we diagnosed 3 FD with 2 classical type and 1 carrier (0.27%).

양릉천(陽陵泉) 우슬(牛膝) 약침이 흰쥐의 고지혈증에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Achyranthis Radix Herbal-acupuncture on Hyperlipidemia in Rats)

  • Objective & Methods : The purpose of this study is to observe the effects of herbal- acupuncture with Achyranthis Radix(AR-HA) at GB34(Yangleungchean) on hyperlipidemia in rats. The author performed several experimental items to analyze the levels of various components and enzymes in serum and liver, as well as the histological changes of liver and aorta. Results : 1. Achyranthis Radix herbal acupuncture solution increased DPPH radical scavenging activity and HMG-CoA reductase inhibition rate in rat liver cells. 2. AR-HA at GB34 decreased the level of serum total cholesterol, and increased the ratios of HDL-cholesterol to total cholesterol, phospholipid to total cholesterol in hyperlipidemic rat. 3. AR-HA at GB34 decreased the hepatic HMG-CoA reductase activity in hyperlipidemic rat. 4. AR-HA at GB34 increased the hepatic GSH level in hyperlipidemic rat. Conclusion : From the above results, it is suggested that AR-HA at GB34 has a therapeutic effect on hyperlipidemia.

170[kV] GIB 내에서 건조공기(Dry Air)의 절연파괴 특성 (Breakdown Characteristics of Dry Air under 170[kV] GIB)

  • In this paper, we changed $SF_6$ insulation gases used already in the GIB(Gas Insulated Bus, gas insulated busbar) of switching appliances of power grid 170[kV] GIS(Gas Insulated Switchgear, Gas Insulated Switchgear) with green insulation dry air gases and studied dielectric breakdown voltage characteristics by the AC voltage withstand test. Withstand test AC voltage applied to the standard KEPCO's 170[kV] GIB with dry air insulation and and the equivalent of dry air and $SF_6$ gas were examined. Breakdown voltage of dry air, using an expression of the experiments were calculated and AC Withstand criterion of dry air insulation for the AC voltage test was derived. Using the criterion, dry air gases can be used instead of the $SF_6$ gas was confirmed in the factory acceptance test at 170[kV] GIB.

  • 10GbE 스위치간 링크 집합 기술은 프레임 분배 알고리즘의 설계에 따라 스위치에서 성능의 차이를 가져오므로 링크 집합의 장점을 살리려면 좋은 성능을 가지는 프레임 분배 알고리즘이 필요하다. 기존에 제시된 스위치와 스위치 사이에서의 프레임 분배 방식으로 정적 / 동적 프레임 분배 방식이 있으나 이 방식은 수신단말이 여러 개의 물리적인 링크 중 하나의 링크에 고정이 되어 프레임을 전송하기 때문에 집합된 링크를 모두 사용하지 못해 링크 집합의 이점을 충분히 활용하지 못한다. 이 문제점을 해결하기 위해 스위치간 링크 합에 패딩을 이용한 분배 방식의 적용을 제안하고 성능 측면에서 정적 / 동적 분배 방식과 비교하였다. 그 결과 제안된 패딩 방식의 성능이 부하가 0.7이하이고 프레임 평균 길이가 954 바이트보다 더 긴 경우에 더 우수한 성능을 보였다.

Ginkgolide B Modulates BDNF Expression in Acute Ischemic Stroke

  • Objective : To investigate the neuroprotective effects of Ginkgolide B (GB) against ischemic stroke-induced injury in vivo and in vitro, and further explore the possible mechanisms concerned. Methods : Transient middle cerebral artery occlusion (tMCAO) mice and oxygen-glucose deprivation/reoxygenation (OGD/R)-treated N2a cells were used to explore the neuroprotective effects of GB. The expression of brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) was detected via Western blot and qRT-PCR. Results : GB treatment (4 mg/kg, i. p., bid) significantly reduced neurological deficits, water content, and cerebral infarct volume in tMCAO mice. GB also significantly increased Bcl-2/Bax ratio, reduced the expression of caspase-3, and protected against OGD/R-induced neuronal apoptosis. Meanwhile, GB caused the up-regulation of BDNF protein in vivo and in vitro. Conclusion : Our data suggest that GB might protect the brain against ischemic insult partly via modulating BDNF expression.
