  • Balasubramaniam and Muralisankar (2004) proved the existence and uniqueness of fuzzy solutions for the semilinear fuzzy integrodifferential equations with nonlocal initial condition. Park et al. (2006) found the sufficient condition of this system. Recently, Kwun et al. (2006) proved the existence and uniqueness of solutions for the semilinear fuzzy integrodifferential equations with nonlocal initial conditions and forcing term with memory in $E_N$. In this paper, we study the controllability for this system by using the concept of fuzzy number whose values are normal, convex, upper semicontinuous and compactly supported interval in $E_N$.

  • Although Fuzzy Logic Controller(FLC) adopted three terms as input gives better performance. FLC is in general composed of two-term control because of the difficulty in the construction of fuzzy rule base. In this paper, a three-term FLC which is similar to PID control but acts as a nonlinear controller is proposed. To reduce the complexity of the rule base design and increase efficiency, a simplified fuzzy PID control is induced from a hybrid velocity/position type PID algorithm by sharing a common rule base for both fuzzy Pi and fuzzy PD parts. It is simple in structure, easy in implementation, and fast in calculation. The phase plane technique is applied to obtain the rule base for fuzzy two-term control and them. The resultant rule base is Macvicar-Whelan type. The frequency response information is used in tuning of membership functions. Also a tuning strategy for the scaling factors is Proposed based on the relationship between PID gain and them. Simulation results show better performance and the effectiveness of the proposed method.

  • We propose fuzzy least-squares regression analysis by few error term data and test the slop by fuzzy hypotheses membership function for fuzzy number data with agreement index. Finding the agreement index by area for fuzzy hypotheses membership function and membership function of confidence interval, we obtain the results to acceptance or reject for the test of fuzzy hypotheses.

  • Variable Structure Controller(VSC) is usually known to have robustness to bounded exogenous disturbances. The robustness is attributed to the discontinuous term in the control input. However, this discontinuous term also causes an undesirable effect called chattering. To alleviate chattering, a hybrid controller consisting of VSC and Fuzzy Logic Controller(FLC) is proposed, which belongs to the category of Fuzzy Sliding Mode Controller(FSMC). The role of FLC in FSMC is to replace a fixed gain of a discontinuous term with a time-varying one based on a specified rule base. The characteristics of proposed controller are shown to be similar to those of VSC with a saturation function instead of sign function. The only remarkable difference is the nonlinearity whose form can be adjusted by free parameters, normalize gain, denormalize gain, and membership functions. Applied to AC servo motor, the proposed controller is compared with VSC in a regulation problem as well as a speed tracking problem. The simulation results show a substantial chatter reduction.

  • This paper presents a systematic method to compute a reliability measure for a short term electrical load forecasting system using neuro-fuzzy models. It has been realized that the reliability computation is essential for a load forecasting system to be applied practically. The proposed method employs a local reliability measure in order to exploit the local representation characteristic of the neuro-fuzzy models. It, hence, estimates the reliability of each fuzzy rule learned. The design procedure of the proposed short term load forecasting system is as follows: (1) construct initial structures of neuro-fuzzy models, (2) store them in the initial structure bank, (3) train the neuro-fuzzy model using an appropriate initial structure, and (4) compute load prediction and its reliability. In order to demonstrate the viability of the proposed method, we develop an one hour ahead load forecasting system by using the real load data collected during 1996 and 1997 at KEPCO. Simulation results suggest that the proposed scheme extends the applicability of the load forecasting system with the reliably computed reliability measure.

  • This paper describes the result of applying neuro-fuzzy reasoning, which conducts Go term knowledge based on pattern knowledge, to the opening game of Go. We discuss the implementation of neuro-fuzzy reasoning for deciding the best next move to proceed through the opening game. We also let neuro-fuzzy reasoning play against TD($\lambda$) learning to test the performance. The experimental result reveals that even the simple neuro-fuzzy reasoning model can compete against TD($\lambda$) learning and it shows great potential to be applied to the real game of Go.

  • In this paper, we psropose the feedback linearization technique for a nonlinear system using genetic algorithms (GAs) and fuzzy logic system. The proposed control scheme approximates the nonlinear term of a nonlinear system using the fuzzy logic system and computes the control input for cancelling the nonlinear term. Then in the fuzzy logic system, the number and shape of membership function of the premise aprt will be tuned to minimize the control error boundary using GAs. And the parameters of the consequence of fuzzy rule will be tuned by the adaptive laws based on lyapunov stability theory in order to guarantee the closed loop stability of control system. The evolution of fuzzy logic system is processed during the on-line adaptive control. The effectiveness of proposed method will be demonstrated by computer simulation of simple nonlinear sytem.

  • In this paper, we propose the Chaos Fuzzy controller to analyze the chaotic character of time series obtained from the specific plant and to predict the short-term for power consumption of the plant using the Fuzzy controller. We compared the predicted data with the active ones and checked the error generated by them after we time series of supplied power to the proposed controller. As a result of the simulation, we obtained a admirable consequence that the proposed controller can be advanced through various and accurate data acquisition, and continuous analysis of the resident and industrial environment.

  • This paper presents a new short-term load forecasting system using data mining. Since the electric load has very different pattern according to the day, it definitely gives rise to the forecasting error if only one forecasting model is used. Thus, to resolve this problem, the fuzzy model-based classifier and predictor are proposed for the forecasting of the hourly electric load. The proposed classifier is the multi-input and multi-output fuzzy system of which the consequent part is composed of the Bayesian classifier. The proposed classifier attempts to categorize the input electric load into Monday, Tuesday$\sim$Friday, Saturday, and Sunday electric load, Then, we construct the Takagi-Sugeno (T-S) fuzzy model-based predictor for each class. The parameter identification problem is converted into the generalized eigenvalue problem (GEVP) by formulating the linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). Finally, to show the feasibility of the proposed method, this paper provides the short-term load forecasting example.

  • A fuzzy stochastic differential equation contains a fuzzy valued diffusion term which is defined by stochastic integral of a fuzzy process with respect to 1-dimensional Brownian motion. We prove the existence and uniqueness of the solution for fuzzy stochastic differential equation under suitable Lipschitz condition. To do this we prove and use the maximal inequality for fuzzy stochastic integrals. The results are illustrated by an example.
