A Study on Integrated Manned-Unmanned Teaming for Future Ground Warfare Victory

  • One of the current focal points in the defense sector is how to strategically leverage the technologies of the Fourth Industrial Revolution in military operations. The Fourth Industrial Revolution denotes a transformational shift in the environment where automation and connectivity are maximized, primarily driven by advancements in machine learning and artificial intelligence. Coined by Klaus Schwab at the 2015 Davos Forum, this term signifies a profound change in human activities, akin to how a single machine replaced hundreds of laborers in the past. The military application of Fourth Industrial Revolution technologies is increasingly researched and anticipated to be actively implemented. Combat, as a subset of warfare, entails military actions between units conducting war. Typically performed by units to achieve one or more objectives, the concept of combat involves the fundamental ideas guiding the conduct of military operations against adversaries, both presently and in the future. Hence, it is imperative for our military to develop future combat concepts by harnessing the key technologies of the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

Parental Attachment, The Impact of Parental Involvement in Learning on a Child's Perception of The Future (부모 애착, 학습에 대한 부모참여가 아동의 미래에 대한 인식에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study was to improve children's positive perceptions of the future by examining the relationship between parental attachment, parental involvement in learning, and children's perceptions of the future, and by identifying the specific influence of each variable on children's perceptions of the future. Frequency analysis and descriptive statistical analysis were performed on data from the 12th year of the Korean Children's Panel (2019), and Pearson's moment correlation coefficient was calculated for correlation analysis between variables. Multiple regression analysis was performed to examine the explanatory power of parental attachment to children's perception of the future and parental participation in learning. The research results are as follows. First, the correlations among all the latent variables of parental attachment, parental participation in learning, and children's future perception showed significant correlations. Second, the explanatory power of children's perception of the future was found in the order of 'mother' trust, 'family'-based participation, 'father' trust, and 'mother' communication. These results suggested that parental trust and warm, warm participation in home-based learning were important variables in children's positive perception of the future.

  • The scientific, economical and industrial values of the Moon have been increased, as massive ice-water and rare resource were founded from the lunar exploration missions. Korea and other major space agencies in the world are competitively developing the ISRU (In Situ Resource Utilization) technology to secure future lunar resource as well as to construct the lunar base. To prepare for the lunar construction, it is essential to develop the rover based construction spatial information technology to provide a decision-making aided information during the lunar construction process. Thus, this research presented the construction spatial information technology based upon rover's camera system. Specifically, the conceptual design of rover based camera system was designed for acquisition of a rover's navigation image, and lunar terrain and construction images around the rover. The reference architecture of the rover operation system was designed for computation of the lunar construction spatial information. Also, rover's localization and terrain reconstruction methods were introduced considering the characteristics of lunar surface environments. It is necessary to test and validate the conceptual design of the construction spatial information technology. Thus, in the future study, the developed rover and rover operation system will be applied to the lunar terrestrial analogue site for further improvements.

  • 본 논문에서는 대용량 화물 DTG 데이터 분석을 위한 빅데이터 플랫폼을 설계 및 구현한다. DTG(digital tacho graph)는 차량운행기록을 실시간으로 저장하는 장치로서, 차량의 GPS, 속도, RPM, 제동유무, 이동거리 등 차량운행 관련 데이터가 1초 단위로 기록된다. 차량 운행 패턴 및 분석을 하기 위해서는 DTG 데이터의 빠른 처리가 필수적이며, 특히 대용량 DTG 데이터를 가공 및 변환하기 위해서는 별도의 플랫폼이 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 오픈소스 기반의 빅데이터 프레임워크인 스파크(Spark)를 이용하여 대용량 화물 DTG 데이터의 전처리 플랫폼을 구현하였다. 실제 대용량 화물 DTG 데이터를 대상으로 데이터를 변환 및 지도상에 표현해 보인다.

  • Facial expression recognition technology's rapid growth and development have garnered significant attention in recent years. This technology holds immense potential for various applications, making it crucial to stay up-to-date with the latest trends and advancements. Simultaneously, it is essential to identify and address the challenges that impede the technology's progress. Motivated by these factors, this study aims to understand the latest trends, future directions, and challenges in facial expression recognition technology by utilizing text mining to analyze papers published between 2020 and 2023. Our research focuses on discerning which aspects of these papers provide valuable insights into the field's recent developments and issues. By doing so, we aim to present the information in an accessible and engaging manner for readers, enabling them to understand the current state and future potential of facial expression recognition technology. Ultimately, our study seeks to contribute to the ongoing dialogue and facilitate further advancements in this rapidly evolving field.

Uncertainty of future runoff projection according to SSP scenarios and hydrologic model parameters (미래 기후변화 시나리오와 수문모형 매개변수에 따른 미래 유량예측 불확실성)

  • Future runoff analysis is influenced by climate change scenarios and hydrologic model parameters, with uncertainties. In this study, the uncertainty of future runoff analysis according to the shared socioeconomic pathway (SSP) scenario and hydrologic model parameters was analyzed. Among the SSP scenarios, the SSP2-4.5 and SSP5-8.5 scenarios were used, and the soil and water assessment tool (SWAT) model was used as the hydrologic model. For the parameters of the SWAT model, a total of 11 parameter were optimized to the observed runoff data using SWAT-CUP. Then, uncertainty analysis of future estimated runoff compared to the observed runoff was performed using jensen-shannon divergence (JS-D), which can calculate the difference in distribution. As a result, uncertainty of future runoff was analyzed to be larger in SSP5-8.5 than in SSP2-4.5, and larger in the far future (2061-2100) than in the near future (2021-2060). In this study, the uncertainty of future runoff using future climate data according to the parameters of the hydrologic model is as follows. Uncertainty was greatly analyzed when parameters used observed runoff data in years with low flow rates compared to average years. In addition, the uncertainty of future runoff estimation was analyzed to be greater for the parameters of the period in which the change in runoff compared to the average year was greater.

Proposition of Information Processing and Analysis Technology Education in the Era of Hyperconnection, Hyperintelligence, and Hyperconvergence

  • For the purpose of this study, in order to adapt to the era of intelligent informatization in the 4th Industrial Revolution, we propose an information processing and analysis technology education plan that can solve problems through information search and collection. To this end, first, we explored the necessity and content of information processing and analysis technology in hyperconnection, hyperintelligence, and hyperconvergence under the theme of various majors in IT, focusing on understanding information technology in the software and hardware curriculum. Second, the curriculum improvement plan was proposed based on information literacy, computing thinking skills, and cooperative problem-solving skills for efficient software and hardware-linked curriculum operation based on information processing and analysis technology. Third, I would like to emphasize that it is essential to secure connectivity between other studies for future innovation in new technologies related to computer technology, machine technology, and infrastructure technology through hyperconnection, hyperintelligence, and hyperconvergence in the software and hardware curriculum. Through this, we intend to cultivate creative convergence talent required by the future society.
