This paper surveyed the development and future of electronic journals. The growing and impact of electronic publishing, developments and access of electronic journals, and the future of electronic journals were examined in detail, and remaining problems were analyzed. The findings of the study can be summarized as follows : 1. The future of electronic journals is not an issue of technology it is an issue of economics and social policy. And, the cost of delivering an electronic version to end-users were more expensive. 2. More sophisticated markup software and display software system are needed for fully structured text versions of articles. 3. Coordination of effort is essential in order that we maximize the end-users access requirements against resonable protection for the intellecture effort of the scholarly writer. 4. The success of an electronic journals will depend on the improved communication and cooperation between libraries, users, author, publishers, and information technology specialists. The advent of electronic information delivery has brought with it these issues to be solved. And development in the delivery of scholarly information by electronic means will accelerate.

Recently, the appearance of the library has changed dramatically more than ever, and it is true that the spatial factor of the library is a big part of this change. The purpose of this study is to establish the criteria for improvement of the illuminance standard of library by comparing analysis of related workd related to illumination, survey, and illuminance related standards of each country. In order to achieve the purpose of research, we measured the illuminance and the users' perceptions of the 14 public libraries in the D region. Finally, the comparison of domestic and international illuminance standards should be improved in the future. As a result of the analysis, it is found that the domestic illumination standard (KSA 3011) needs to be supplemented in accordance with the environment and the case of each country. Also, it is necessary to recognize the importance of differentiation and illuminance according to the age group of users. This study is expected to be a basic research that will raise the interest of the overall illumination improvement and illumination management of the library in the future. In addition, it is expected that it will be a great power for the improvement of the environment including the illumination of the public library in Korea if the interest is maintained based on the revision of the domestic illumination standard in accordance with the revised tendency of overseas recommendation and the continuous research on the future illumination of the library.

This study suggests basic principals and requirements for future development of children's library classification scheme Until now there is no standardized children's library classification system, thereby librarians as well as library users have to go through many troubles. Therefore this study researched current conditions of children's libraries In Korea and analyzed the types and characteristics of children's books. This study reviewed children's book classification systems and how these systems are being used in three different library system: public and Inpyo Children's Library, Miracle Library, and private children's libraries. This study conducted in-depth research on two notable children's book classification systems of Neutinamu Children's Library and Parangsae Children's Library. This study suggests basic principals and requirements for children's library classification scheme, based on researches described above.

Korean university libraries are increasing their library collection each year according to the standard set by the Ministry of Education. The standard states that all the university libraries are required to keep 3 books for newly enrolling students, 30 books for each enrolled student and 5, 000 books for each department. The increasing number of the university library collection brings many problems in the libraries. 1. The size of the library collection is not related to the satisfaction of the library user's requests. The satisfaction is usually related to number of the new publications received in the library. Z. The Korean publication is limited to a small number. It could not meet the university standard. Therefore, the number is filled with the foreign publications. But the use of them is not frequent. Even the number of the domestic and foreign new publications together could not meet all the requests of the university library users. Only cooperation with other libraries will be able to meet most of the diversified requests. 3. Most of the present library collection are not likely to be used in the future and they should be eventually discarded. Present library administration put too much emphasis on the size of library collection and only the aquisition of the material is main concern of the university librarians. They need to consider other factors in the aquistion of the library collection. They should make their collection development in accordance with user's requests in addition to meet the university standard.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the principles of school library media center program and to finds out present level and future outlook of the program implementation in primary and middle school. The fundamental objective of school is learning and school library functions as a link to support this objective. Therefore quality of education must always be linked to the library media programs. A questionaire which consists of 13 questions covering school library media center operation was designed to final out how learning-teaching media program is being practiced in Korea. Based on this study, it is concluded that there is significant difference between present practice level and desired future-oriented practice. It is hoped that this study will help planners in formulating school library policy to achieve educational goal of the school.

This study examined the primary features of cultural program operation instances on the metaverse platform. In addition, an interview was performed with librarians in charge of the public library culture program to get their perspectives on the viability of using the metaverse platform for each sort of cultural program. Ultimately, we intended to provide guidelines for organizing and administering a cultural program on the metaverse platform in a public library. The results showed that there are seven types of cultural programs using the Metaverse platform: library tours, education, reading, exhibits, performances, games, and events. librarians in charge of the public library culture program responded positively to the future use of library tours, exhibitions, games, and events. Education can be used depending on the character of the educational program while reading and performances are less likely to be used in the future. Regarding how to use the Metaverse platform, Zepeto was most likely to be used for tours, and Gather and Zep for education, exhibits, games, and events.

Social networking services that connect a person to other people are attracting people's attention and various types of services are provided on the Internet. Library has been playing a role of social media by providing us with materials such as books and magazines, and with a place for reading, studying, getting lectures, etc. In this paper, we present a method for finding candidates of groups of the library's patrons who share interest areas by utilizing the loan records, which are obtainable in every library. Such a homogeneous group can become a candidate for a study group, a community for exchange ideas, and other activity group. We apply the method to a collection of loan records of a university library, find some problems to be solved, and propose measures for more detailed solutions. Even though the potential group finding problem still remains a lot of issues to be solved, its potential importance is very high and thus to be studies even more for future applications.

The purpose of this research is to analyze the trend and performances of contracting out the management of public libraries in Korea, in order to help promote the effectiveness and efficiencies of their operations. In this research, Investigated in detail are the following issues: First, the need for and background of contracting out public library services and their present state in Korea; Second, the pros and cons of contracting out public library services; and finally, based on the aforementioned findings, a future model of 'contracting out' public library services is proposed in order to further the effective management of public libraries in Korea.
