다양한 콘텐츠 제공을 위한 17×17 LED 도트 매트릭스 제작 및 연구 (A Study of 17×17 LED Dot Matrix for offring Various Contents)

  • 최근 RGB LED 조명은 다양한 장점으로 이를 활용한 연구가 진행되고 있으며 단순 조명이 아닌 정보전달 및 공간연출의 디자인적 요소의 역할을 이행하기도 한다. RGB의 혼합으로 다양한 색상이 표현 가능한 LED를 사용하여 개별적으로 LED를 제어해 여러 가지 색상 및 모양이 표현 가능한 LED 도트 매트릭스를 제작하였으며, 이를 활용해 다양한 콘텐츠를 출력하고자 한다. 다양한 모양의 콘텐츠에선 개별적으로 LED를 제어하고, 그 외의 콘텐츠에선 원하는 LED를 그룹지어 제어한다. 본 논문에서 제작한 LED 도트 매트릭스는 많은 정보를 전달 할 수 있으며, 다양한 콘텐츠 제공으로 인한 상업화 및 효율성의 확대를 꾀할 수 있다.

Comparisons of internal self-field magnetic flux densities between recent Nb3Sn fusion magnet CICC cable designs

  • The Cable-In-Conduit-Conductor (CICC) for the ITER tokamak Central Solenoid (CS) has undergone design change since the first prototype conductor sample was tested in 2010. After tests showed that the performance of initial conductor samples degraded rapidly without stabilization, an alternate design with shorter sub-cable twist pitches was tested and discovered to satisfy performance requirements, namely that the minimum current sharing temperature ($T_{cs}$) remained above a given limit under DC bias. With consistent successful performance of ITER CS conductor CICC samples using the alternate design, an attempt is made here to revisit the internal electromagnetic properties of the CICC cable design to identify any correlation with conductor performance. Results of this study suggest that there may be a simple link between the $Nb_3Sn$ CICC internal self-field and its $T_{cs}$ performance. The study also suggests that an optimization process should exist that can further improve the performance of $Nb_3Sn$ based CICC.

항공 및 지상 동시 정찰이 가능한 융합형 정찰로봇 설계 (Design of Fusion Platform Robot for Ground and Aerial Reconnaissance)

  • This paper describes the conceptual platform design of a dual-capable robot for both driving on the ground and flying in the air. The dual-capable robot can move over all types of terrain for both ground and aerial reconnaissance. The main design problem of the robot is how to make a wheel for both driving and flying. The proposed key design concept is a hubless driving wheel that contains a propeller inside for flying in the air. The primary design parameters and initial specifications were confirmed through an examination of the conceptual design, and functional tests were then conducted using a real prototype robot for driving and flying modes. The test results show the feasibility of the proposed design concept.

  • The history of nuclear fusion research in Korea is rather short compared to that of advanced countries. However, since the mid-1990s, at which time the construction of KSTAR was about to commence, fusion research in Korea has been actively carried out in a wide range of areas, from basic plasma physics to fusion reactor design. The flourishing of fusion research partly owes to the fact that industrial technologies in Korea including those related to the nuclear field have been fully matured, with their quality being highly ranked in the world. Successive pivotal programs such as KSTAR and ITER have provided diverse opportunities to address new scientific and technological problems in fusion as well as to draw young researchers into related fields. The frame of the Korean nuclear fusion program is now changing from a small laboratory scale to a large national agenda. Coordinated strategies from different views and a holistic approach are necessary in order to achieve optimal efficiency and effectiveness. Upon this background, the present paper reflects upon the road taken to arrive at this point and looks ahead at the coming future in nuclear fusion research activities in Korea.

Suction Detection in Left Ventricular Assist System: Data Fusion Approach

  • Data fusion approach is investigated to avoid suction in the left ventricular assist system (LVAS) using a nonpulsatile pump. LVAS requires careful control of pump speed to support the heart while preventing suction in the left ventricle and providing proper cardiac output at adequate perfusion pressure to the body. Since the implanted sensors are usually unreliable for long-term use, a sensorless approach is adopted to detect suction. The pump model is developed to provide the load coefficient as a necessary signal to the data fusion system without the implanted sensors. The load coefficient of the pump mimics the pulsatility property of the actual pump flow and provides more comparable information than the pump flow after suction occurs. Four signals are generated from the load coefficient as inputs to the data fusion system for suction detection and a neural fuzzy method is implemented to construct the data fusion system. The data fusion approach has a good ability to classify suction status and it can also be used to design a controller for LVAS.

  • ' Fusion fashion ' or ' hybrid fashion ' refers to methods of mixing two or more fashion elements. This method is not new as it has been used or expressed in art, and design for many decades. The study explores 1) the origins of fusion in art and dress, 2) different formations of fusions in different cultures and time periods and 3) how postmodernism is related to and influenced fusion fashion. The paper concludes that fusion historically expressed is related to fusion in postmodern fashion, and gave rise to different trends and expressions of modern times.

  • 지능융합 클러스터는 전기전자정보통신, 컴퓨터공학부, 건축공학부, 디자인공학과로 구성된 학제간 융합 프로그램이다. 지능융합 클러스터의 효과적인 운영방안을 도출하기 위하여 클러스터 소속의 학생과 교수를 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하고, 이 설문을 바탕으로 효과적인 운영안을 도출하였다. 운영안은 교과과정 운영 개선과 연구 활성화를 위한 두 가지 측면으로 제시되었다.

  • Data fusion is an attractive technology because it allows various trade-offs related to performance metrics, e.g., energy, latency, accuracy, fault-tolerance and security in wireless sensor networks (WSNs). Under a complicated environment, each sensor node must be equipped with more than one type of sensor module to monitor multi-targets, so that the complexity for the fusion process is increased due to the existence of various physical attributes. In this paper, we first investigate the process and performance of multi-attribute fusion in data gathering of WSNs, and then propose a self-adaptive threshold method to balance the different change rates of each attributive data. Furthermore, we present a method to measure the energy-conservation efficiency of multi-attribute fusion. Based on our proposed methods, we design a novel energy equilibrium routing method for WSNs, viz., multi-attribute fusion tree (MAFT). Simulation results demonstrate that MAFT achieves very good performance in terms of the network lifetime.

  • In this paper, we have proposed the design and implementation for efficient Command Control and Alert(C2A). Information fusion must be done for knowing the state and identification of targets using multi-sensor. The threat priority of targets which are processed and identified by information fusion is calculated by air-defence operation logic. The threat targets are assigned to the valid and effective weapons by nearest neighborhood algorithm. Furthermore, the assignment result allows operators to effectively operate C2A by providing the operators with visualizing symbol color and the assignment pairing color line. We introduce the prototype which is implemented by the proposed design and algorithm.
