조강형 고로 슬래그 시멘트 및 보통 포틀랜드 시멘트 대체용 고로 슬래그 시멘트에 관한 연구 (A Study of Blast Furnace Slag Cement of High Early Strength and Replacement Ordinary Portland Cement)

  • The purpose of this paper was to study of blast furnace slag cement of high early strength and replacement ordinary portland cement. we prepared the specimens of cement and concrete with various mixing proportions of elementary materials. For example, clinker, gypsum(1~10%), fineness $4, 000~6, 000cm^2/g$ of blast furnace slag(30~50%), limestone etc. As a result of this study, fineness $(4, 000cm^2/g)$ blast furnace slag was of used replacement ordinary portland cement and fineness $(6, 000cm^2/g)$ blast furnace slag was of used blast furnace slag cement of high early strength.

  • In the steel industry, a steel melting electric arc furnace is used to produce both carbon and alloy steels. Steel scrap which is charged into the furnace is heated by means of electric arc between graphite electrodes and the scrap. In this melting process, current is supplied to the furnace through HCC(high current cable) which connect the furnace and transformer. Four HCCs are assigned to each phase in our system to divide the current. Since a sudden cable breaking result in the shutdown of melting process, an aging detection of HCC is very important for both an improvement of productivity and cost reduction. In this paper, the aging of the HCC is estimated by using the current ratio between four HCCs.

  • Electric arc furnace oxidizing slag from massively produced steel slag has been used in road bases and subbases, hot mix asphalt, and landfill. Electric arc furnace oxidizing slag contains iron (15%~30%) and has a high density of 3.0~3.7 ton/m3. Depending on the type and amount of concrete aggregates, the radiation-shielding characteristics can vary. Therefore, aggregates of electric arc furnace oxidizing slag can be considered for the production of radiation-shielding concrete. The experimental design of this study is experiments on Compressive strength experiments, X-ray irradiation experiments, and experiments related to the unit volume weight were carried out on hardened concrete. This experiment compared the performance evaluation of radiation shielding of concrete using electric arc furnace oxidizing slag.

전기로 온도제어를 위한 화면감시 제어기 설계 (A Design of a Screen Monitoring Controller for the Electric Furnace Temperature Control)

  • In this paper, a temperature controller with monitor function is proposed for the electric furnace system. This controller includes holding and ramp control function, and the control program for the temperature process monitor of the electric furnace. For this purpose, the implementation and performance of auto tuning algorithms in a computer-based controller was studied in relation to the control of nonlinear electric furnace system which is characterized with large delay time. The control program for this controller programmed by c-language. To communicate a control and detection signals, between the controller and the electric furnace is implemented by the I/O data card. We apply the temperature controller to the practical electric furnace. As a result, the proposed controller shows the better status characteristic.

가스온풍기용 가스버너의 설계 및 개발에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Design and Development of Gas Burner for Gas Furnace)

  • The purpose of this study is to modify the kerosene furnace, which is forced flue type with 15000kcal capacity, to gas furnace satisfying for CITY gas, LNG gas and LPG gas. The gas furnace, a kind of gas appliance, is mainly used for heating houses by combusion of gas. This paper describes briefly the design technology for gas burner which is most important in replacing kerosene fuel with gas fuel. Especially, the design for gas nozzle is constructed by theoretical and experimental method. It is found that the experimental results of the modified gas burner are good agreement with the theoretical results for calorific value and combustion efficiency. The result of this study will contribute in the design skill and of gas burner and similar gas appliance, and the pursuit for reduction of fuel cost as well as atmospheric pollution.

  • This paper presents results of test for combustion vibration in the pilot furnace for fossil power plant under combustion test. We measured static pressure variation in the pilot furnace together with air and fuel flow. From test results, it shows that vibration magnitude is affected by air and fuel flow. Also, a finite element analysis using a commercial S/W is performed to calculate acoustic mode of the pilot furnace. These results show that dominant frequency occurred is related to acoustic natural frequency of furnace. After this, it needs to be studied the relation between dominant frequency of combustion vibration and air flow rate.

  • Hot-rolled steel plates of SPHC and SS400 were oxidized at 600, 750 and $900^{\circ}C$ for 2 hr in air. With an increase in the oxidation temperature, their oxidation rates increased, and this was accompanied by the formation of pores and cracks in the thickened oxide scales, which were non-adherent. SPHC steels manufactured by either an arc furnace or a blast furnace displayed similar oxidation rates, indicating that their oxidation rates were insensitive to the manufacturing process. Medium-carbon SS400 steel displayed somewhat faster oxidation rates than low-carbon SS400 steel, indicating that the carbon content did not significantly influence the oxidation rates.

  • Light-weight foamed concrete using cement as a raw material consumes a lot of energy and generates $CO_2$ because of the high temperature firing process in the manufacturing process of cement. This study was carried out to evaluate the use of blast furnace slag through the properties analysis by substituting a certain amount of blast furnace slag as an industrial by-product as a substitute for cement. The experimental results showed similar characteristics to those of using only cement when the blast furnace slag fine powder was used in an appropriate amount. Therefore, if a certain amount of cement is replaced with blast furnace slag powder, it can maintain similar quality, reduce natural resources and energy consumption, and reduce carbon dioxide emissions.

  • 이 연구에서는 고온의 태양열 에너지를 저장하기 위한 고로슬래그 콘크리트의 열역학적 특성을 파악하였다. 고로슬래그 콘크리트의 열역학적 특성에 미치는 영향을 파악하기 위한 실험연구를 수행하였다. 실험변수로써 고로슬래그 함유량과 물-바인더 비를 고려하였다. 고로슬래그 콘크리트의 역학적 특성으로써 열사이클 전과 후의 압축강도 및 인장강도를 측정하고, 열적 특성으로써 열전도율과 비열을 측정하였다. 고로슬래그를 포함한 콘크리트의 열싸이클 적용 후의 잔류압축강도가 고로슬래그를 포함하지 않은 콘크리트의 잔류압축강도보다 크다. 또한, 고로슬래그를 혼입한 콘크리트의 열전도율이 고로슬래그를 포함하지 않은 콘크리트의 열전도율보다 더욱 크다. 이는 고로슬래그 콘크리트가 열에너지의 축열과 방열에 효과적인 것을 나타낸다. 실험연구 결과는 콘크리트 열저장 축열 모듈 설계에 효율적으로 활용될 수 있다.

전기로 제강분진의 재활용과정에서 발생된 Clinker의 전기로에서의 가열용해에 의한 자원화에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Resource Development by Heat Dissolution in Electric Arc Furnace of Clinker generated in the Recycling Process of Electric Arc Furnace Dust)

  • In general, when scrap is dissolved in an electric arc furnace, the amount of electric furnace steel dust (EAFD) generated is about 1.5% of the scrap charge amount, and the electric furnace steel dust collected by the bag filter is charged into the Rotary Kiln or Rotary Hearth Furnace (RHF), and the zinc component is recovered as crude zinc oxide, at which time a clinker of Fe-Base is generated. In this research, first, for the efficient resource conversion of electric furnace steel dust, a reduction and roasting experiment was conducted and the reaction kinetics was examined. As a result of the experiment, it was observed that the reduction and roasting reaction was actively conducted in the range of 1100~1150℃, and melting occurred in the range of 1250℃. In the past, this clinker was widely used as a roadbed material for road construction and an Fe-Source for cement production, but in recent years, it has been mainly reclaimed due to strengthening environmental standards. However, landfill treatment is by no means a desirable treatment method due to environmental pollution caused by leachate, expensive landfill costs, and waste of Fe resources. Therefore, in order to more actively recycle the Fe component in the clinker, first of all the clinker was pulverized into an optimal particle size, and anthracite and binder (starch) were added to the magnetic material obtained by specific gravity and magnetic separation for briquet. As a experimental results, it was possible to efficiently separate clinker as Fe component and other slag component by specific gravity and magnetic force. As a results of loading and dissolving the manufactured briquet clinker in an electric arc furnace, it was observed that the unit of power and production yield were clearly improved and the carbon addition effect in molten metal was also somewhat.
