INEQUALITIES FOR QUANTUM f-DIVERGENCE OF CONVEX FUNCTIONS AND MATRICES

  • Some inequalities for quantum f-divergence of matrices are obtained. It is shown that for normalised convex functions it is nonnegative. Some upper bounds for quantum f-divergence in terms of variational and ${\chi}^2-distance$ are provided. Applications for some classes of divergence measures such as Umegaki and Tsallis relative entropies are also given.

  • We compute explicitly the matrix represented by the Toeplitz operator on the Hardy space over a smoothly finitely connected bounded domain in the plane with respect to special orthonormal bases consisting of the classical kernel functions for the space of square integrable functions and for the Hardy space. The Fourier coefficients of the symbol of the Toeplitz operator are obtained from zeroth row vectors and zeroth column vectors of the matrix. And we also find some condition for the product of two Toeplitz operators to be a Toeplitz operator in terms of matrices.

  • Some new trace inequalities for convex functions of self-adjoint operators in Hilbert spaces are provided. The superadditivity and monotonicity of some associated functionals are investigated. Some trace inequalities for matrices are also derived. Examples for the operator power and logarithm are presented as well.

  • This paper presents a new method for finding the Block Pulse series coefficients, deriving the Block Pulse integration operational matrices and generalizing the integration operational matrices which are necessary for the control fields using the Block Pulse functions. In order to apply the Block Pulse function technique to the problems of state estimation or parameter identification more efficiently. it is necessary to find the more exact value of the Block Pulse series coefficients and integral operational matrices.

  • The traditional finite element method applied to dynamic problems employs shape functions which are based on a static displacement assumption. The more exact approach uses frequency-dependent shape functions and frequency-dependent mass and stiffness matrices. Such matrices are developed for a torsional vibration of shaft element. Numerical examples are presented for a cantilever beam.

  • This paper presents a new method for finding the Block Pulse series coefficients, deriving the Block Pulse integration operational matrices and generalizing the integration operational matrices which are necessary for the control fields using the Block Pulse functions. In order to apply the Block Pulse function technique to the problems of state estimation or parameter identification more efficiently, it is necessary to find the more exact value of the Block Pulse series coefficients and integral operational matrices. This paper presents the method for improving the accuracy of the Block Pulse series coefficients and derives the related integration operational matrices and generalized integration operational matrix by using the Lagrange second order interpolation polynomial.

  • In this paper, an optimal Wiener-Hopf decoupling controller formula is obtained which is expressed in terms of rational matrices, thereby readily allowing the use of state-space algorithms. To this end, the characterization formula for the class of all realizable decoupling controller is formulated in terms of rational functions. The class of all stabilizing and decoupling controllers is parametrized via the free diagonal matrices and the optimal decoupling controller is determined from these free matrices.
