기상 UV 그라프트 반응에 의한 고분자 필름의 표면 개질 (Surface Modification of Polymer Films by Vapor Phase Photografting of Functional Monomers)

  • 소수성 고분자 재료 표면의 친수화 처리 및 기능성 작용기 도입은 재료의 응용성을 상당히 확장할 수가 있기 때문에 중요성이 인지되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 기상 UV 그라프트 반응(vapor phase photografting)에 의해 서로 다른 이온성을 가지는 비닐계 단량체들을 PE 표면에 도입하여 표면 친수성을 향상시켰다. 이를 위해 acrylic acid(음이온성), acrylamide(중성), allylalcohol(중성), allylamine(양이온성) N,N-dimethyl aminopropyl acrylamide(양이온성) 등 서로 다른 기능성 작용기를 갖는 친수성 단량체들을 본 실험실에서 고안한 기상 UV 그라프트 반응장치를 이용하여 기체상태에서 PE 표면에 도입하였다. 이들 단량체들이 도입된 PE 표면을 물 접촉각 측정과 ATR-FTIR을 이용하여 분석한 결과, 각 기능성 단량체들이 효과적으로 PE 표면에 그라프트되어 표면의 친수성이 향상되었음을 확인할 수 있었다. 본 연구에 사용한 기상 UV 그라프트 반응은 고분자 표면에 다양한 작용기를 도입하여 표면을 개질할 수 있는 효과적인 방법으로 생각되어진다.

세라믹 기판위에 코팅된 기능성 필름의 열처리 분위기에 따른 내오염 및 기계적 특성 (Effects of Annealing Ambient on the Anti-Pollution and Mechanical Properties of Functional Film Coated on the Ceramic Substrate)

  • For the improvement of the anti-pollution properties of porcelain electrical insulators, in this study, we have applied the functional film to the surface of insulator. The functional films were coated on the ceramic substrates which components were like the porcelain electrical insulator. The coating material was applied to ceramic substrate by spray coating method and then the film was cured at around $300^{\circ}C$ for 10 minutes with different gas ambient, such as $O_2$, $N_2$, and only vacuum. We have measured the contact angle of the coated surface, and obtained the lowest angle ($8.9^{\circ}$) and a strong hydrophilic property at vacuum condition. The anti-pollution properties were measured, revealing that as the contact angle decreased, the anti-pollution properties improved. The mechanical hardness and adhesion were both excellent regardless of the annealing ambient.

  • A survey over the role of sol-gel processing and metal alkoxides in the thin film preparation is given. The basic chemistry of the sol-gel process is complex due to the different reactivities of the network forming and the wide variety of reaction parameters. Despite the important progress in the investigations of the mechanisms of thin film formation, a direct relation of reaction parameters to functional oxide properties is still very difficult.

정전분무 장치를 이용한 C축 일방향 바륨페라이트(BaFe12O19) 박막형성 (Preparation of C-plane oriented BaFe12O19 film by electrospray deposition of colloidal precursor particles)

  • New process consisting of electrospray and epitaxial crystal growth processes was applied to the preparation of c-plane oriented barium ferrite ($BaFe_{12}O_{19}$) thin film for high density magnetic recording media. Sodium citrate aided process was proper to preparation of amorphous $BaFe_{12}O_{19}$ nanoparticles with geometric mean diameter of 3 nm and geometric standard deviation of 1.1. The electrospray was applicable to the prepare of amorphous $BaFe_{12}O_{19}$ thin film on a substrate, and the film thickness could be controlled by adjusting the electrospray deposition time. The c-plane oriented $BaFe_{12}O_{19}$ thin film was successfully prepared by 3 step annealing process of the $BaFe_{12}O_{19}$ amorphous film on a sapphire($Al_2O_3$) substrate; annealing at $350^{\circ}C$ for 30 min, annealing at $500^{\circ}C$ for 30 min, and annealing at $700^{\circ}C$ for 60 min.

마모 및 나노 압입 시험을 이용한 PUA계 레진의 내구성 비교 (Comparison of Durability for PUA Type Resin using Wear and Nano-indentation Test)

  • Films with special properties (e.g., water-repellent films, optical films, anti-reflection films, and flexible films) are referred to as functional films. Recently, there has been interest in fine patterning methods for film fabrication. In particular there have been many studies that use a UV nanoimprint process involving a UV curing method. In this paper, a polymer film was fabricated by the UV nanoimprint process with a micro-pattern, and its durability was evaluated by a wear test and a nano-indentation test. The film mechanical properties (such as coefficient of friction, hardness, and modulus of elasticity) were measured. Moreover, the choice of PUA type resin used in the UV nanoimprint process was confirmed to impact the durability of the thin film. Despite making the polymer film samples using the same method and PUA type resin, different coefficient of friction, hardness, and modulus of elasticity values were obtained. PUA 4 resin had the most favorable coefficient of friction, hardness, and modulus of elasticity. This material is predicted to produce a high durability functional film.

  • Superparamagnetic regions and magnetic anisotropic properties in randomly orientated Co nano dots(NDs) were investigated as a function of dot diameter, spacing, and density. The Co NDs were fabricated by intentionally exposing a laser source on ultra thin film. Various dot sizes are ultimately realized by changing laser power, scan condition, and intial film thickness. Magnetic hysteresis loops, angle-dependent magnetization, and temperature dependence magnetization of the Co NDs were measured with a superconducting quantum interference device. The analysis of magnetization and hysteresis loops was effectively used to determine superparamagnetic regions of the Co NDs. Up to now, the experimentally observed results repeal that room temperature superparamagnetic limit of our Co NDs was about 30 nm in diameter, with the confirmation of high resolution transmission electron microscope.

적인 함유량에 따른 LDPE 수지 film의 특성연구 (Characteristics of LDPE resin film depending on RP contents)

  • 할로겐계 난연제의 환경적 문제로 인한 규제가 강화되면서 비할로겐타입의 인계화합물을 기초로 한 난연제의 비중이 높아지고 있으며, 기능성 film 제조에 있어 난연 효과를 보이는 적인 첨가에 따라 수지의 물성 및 열적 특성이 확연히 달라진다. 난연 효과를 높이고자 난연제 과량 첨가시 수지의 물성은 크게 저하되며, 수축 또는 방청 등 기능성 film에 적용되기 어렵다. 본 연구에서는 적인MB의 함유량에 따른 LDPE film을 blow 타입의 사출공청을 통해 제조하였고, 이에 대한 난연성 시험과 인열 강도 및 수축률, 방청성 평가를 통해 적인-LDPE film의 기계적 특성 및 물성특성에 미치는 영향력과 함유량에 따른 적인난연 film의 특성연구를 그 목적으로 하였다. 난연성의 경우 VTM 0를 보였으며, 인열 강도의 경우 MD 및 TD의 경향성이 상반되는 것을 알 수 있었다. 수축률의 경우 함유량에 따른 특성은 보이지 않았으며, 방청성의 경우 국내 방청 수축 필름 신뢰성 규격의 기준인 0.05 % 보다 우수한 결과를 보였다.

Effect of Amine Functional Group on Removal Rate Selectivity between Copper and Tantalum-nitride Film in Chemical Mechanical Polishing

  • Copper (Cu) Chemical mechanical polishing (CMP) has been an essential process for Cu wifing of DRAM and NAND flash memory beyond 45nm. Copper has been employed as ideal material for interconnect and metal line due to the low resistivity and high resistant to electro-migration. Damascene process is currently used in conjunction with CMP in the fabrication of multi-level copper interconnects for advanced logic and memory devices. Cu CMP involves removal of material by the combination of chemical and mechanical action. Chemicals in slurry aid in material removal by modifying the surface film while abrasion between the particles, pad, and the modified film facilitates mechanical removal. In our research, we emphasized on the role of chemical effect of slurry on Cu CMP, especially on the effect of amine functional group on removal rate selectivity between Cu and Tantalum-nitride (TaN) film. We investigated the two different kinds of complexing agent both with amine functional group. On the one hand, Polyacrylamide as a polymer affected the stability of abrasive, viscosity of slurry and the corrosion current of copper film especially at high concentration. At higher concentration, the aggregation of abrasive particles was suppressed by the steric effect of PAM, thus showed higher fraction of small particle distribution. It also showed a fluctuation behavior of the viscosity of slurry at high shear rate due to transformation of polymer chain. Also, because of forming thick passivation layer on the surface of Cu film, the diffusion of oxidant to the Cu surface was inhibited; therefore, the corrosion current with 0.7wt% PAM was smaller than that without PAM. the polishing rate of Cu film slightly increased up to 0.3wt%, then decreased with increasing of PAM concentration. On the contrary, the polishing rate of TaN film was strongly suppressed and saturated with increasing of PAM concentration at 0.3wt%. We also studied the electrostatic interaction between abrasive particle and Cu/TaN film with different PAM concentration. On the other hand, amino-methyl-propanol (AMP) as a single molecule does not affect the stability, rheological and corrosion behavior of the slurry as the polymer PAM. The polishing behavior of TaN film and selectivity with AMP appeared the similar trend to the slurry with PAM. The polishing behavior of Cu film with AMP, however, was quite different with that of PAM. We assume this difference was originated from different compactness of surface passivation layer on the Cu film under the same concentration due to the different molecular weight of PAM and AMP.

기능성 골판지 상자에 포장된 토마토의 신선도 (Corrugated Paperboard Box Laminated Functional MA Film for Freshness Extension of Tomato)

  • 기능성 MA필름을 생산하여 이를 골판지 상자의 내부에 첨합시킨 FC상자의 활용가능성을 조사하고자 골판지 상자와 기능성 MA필름을 골판지 상자 내부의 1면당 5곳씩 첨합시킨 FC포장구와 LDPE 및 기능성필름으로 토마토를 포장하여 $25^{\circ}C$에 저장하여 품질변화를 조사한 결과, FC 상자와 LD와 CE 포장구는 대조구 보다는 중량감소율이 현저히 낮았으며 비타민 C의 함량도 14% 높게 유지되고 있었다. 산도는 포장구들간에는 큰 차이가 없었고 당도는 FC 포장구 보다 대조구에서 19% 더 높아 그만큼 품질 변화가 일어난 것으로 판단되었다. 외관 및 부패를 조사한 결과 대조구에 비해 개발 포장구에서 품질이 더 높게 유지되고 있어 FC 포장재를 토마토 포장용 상자로 활용 가능성이 확인되었다.
