A NON-COMPACT GENERALIZATION OF HORVATH'S INTERSECTION THEOREM$^*$

  • Ky Fan's minimax inequality is an important tool in nonlinear functional analysis and its applications, e.g. game theory and economic theory. Since Fan gave his minimax inequality in [2], various extensions of this interesting result have been obtained (see [4,11] and the references therein). Using Fan's minimax inequality, Ha [6] obtained a non-compact version of Sion's minimax theorem in topological vector spaces, and next Geraghty-Lin [3], Granas-Liu [4], Shih-Tan [11], Simons [12], Lin-Quan [10], Park-Bae-Kang [17], Bae-Kim-Tan [1] further generalize Fan's minimax theorem in more general settings. In [9], using the concept of submaximum, Komiya proved a topological minimax theorem which also generalized Sion's minimax theorem and another minimax theorem of Ha in [5] without using linear structures. And next Lin-Quan [10] further generalizes his result to two function versions and non-compact topological settings.

A Greedy Merging Method for User-Steered Mesh Segmentation

  • In this paper, we discuss the mesh segmentation problem which divides a given 3D mesh into several disjoint sets. To solve the problem, we propose a greedy method based on the merging priority metric defined for representing the geometric properties of meaningful parts. The proposed priority metric is a weighted function using five geometric parameters, those are, a distribution of Gaussian map, boundary path concavity, boundary path length, cardinality, and segmentation resolution. In special, we can control by setting up the weight values of the proposed geometric parameters to obtain visually better mesh segmentation. Finally, we carry out an experiment on several 3D mesh models using the proposed methods and visualize the results.

Modeling of an Electricity Market Including Operating Reserve and Analysis of Supplier's Bidding Strategies

  • In an electricity market with imperfect competition, participants devise bidding plans and transaction strategies to maximize their own profits. The market price and the quantity are concerned with the operation reserve as well as the bidding system and demand curves in an electricity market. This paper presents a market model combined by an energy market and an operating reserve market. The competition of the generation producers in the combined market is formulated as a gaming of selecting bid parameters such as intersections and slopes in bid functions. The Nash Equilibrium (NE) is analyzed by using bi-level optimization; maximization of Social Welfare (SW) and maximization of the producers' profits.

  • This paper presents a game theory application for an analysis of uniform price auction in a simplified competitive electricity market and analyzes the properties of Nash equilibrium for various conditions. We have assumed that each generation firm submits his bid to a market in the form of a sealed bid and the market is operated as a uniform price auction. Two firms are supposed to be the players of the market, and we consider the maximum generation quantity constraint of one firm only. The system demand is assumed to have a linear relationship with market clearing prices and the bidding curve of each firm, representing the price at which he has a willingness to sell his generation quantity, is also assumed to have a linear function. In this paper, we analyze the effects of maximum generation quantity constraints on the Nash equilibrium of the uniform price auction. A simple numerical example with two generation firms is demonstrated to show the basic idea of the proposed methodology.

인적 유대와 인터넷 의존 (Interpersonal Tie and Internet Dependency)

  • The reciprocal relationship between the interpersonal tie and the internet dependency is focused in the study. Mainly, chi-squire test and ANOVA are used in testing the hypothesized relationship of the internet dependency with the interpersonal tie before and after using internet. The strong relationship with the internet dependency is found in internet's both-directional communicating function such as chatting, game, gambling, etc. The level of internet dependency is high when individual's tie with friends, colleagues, or neighbors is strong; but it is lower when individual's emotional tie with family members is stronger. It is confirmed that excessive usage of internet damages family relationship. Conversely, it is also clear that the emotional support from family members is essential for preventing or enhancing internet dependency. This implies that internet dependency is not an individual problem, but that it should be treated under the consideration of his/her family system.

발전력의 경쟁적 입찰전략과 전략적 보수계획에 대한 결합모형 연구 (Analysis on a Combined Model of Competitive Bidding and Strategic Maintenance Scheduling of Generating Units)

  • Maintenance scheduling of generating units (MSU) has strategic dimension in an oligopolistic market. Strategic MSU of gencos can affect a market power through capacity withdrawal which is related to bidding strategy in an generation wholesale market. This paper presents a combined framework that models the interrelation between competitive bidding and strategic MSU. The combined game model is represented as some sub-optimization problems of a market operator (MO) and gencos, that should be solved through bi-level optimization scheme. The gradient method with dual variables is also adopted to calculate a Nash Equilibrium (NE) by an iterative update technique in this paper. Illustrative numerical example shows that NE of a supply function equilibrium is obtained properly by using proposed solution technique. The MSU made by MO is compared with that by each genco and that under perfect competition market.

An Offloading Strategy for Multi-User Energy Consumption Optimization in Multi-MEC Scene

  • Mobile edge computing (MEC) is capable of providing services to smart devices nearby through radio access networks and thus improving service experience of users. In this paper, an offloading strategy for the joint optimization of computing and communication resources in multi-user and multi-MEC overlapping scene was proposed. In addition, under the condition that wireless transmission resources and MEC computing resources were limited and task completion delay was within the maximum tolerance time, the optimization problem of minimizing energy consumption of all users was created, which was then further divided into two subproblems, i.e. offloading strategy and resource allocation. These two subproblems were then solved by the game theory and Lagrangian function to obtain the optimal task offloading strategy and resource allocation plan, and the Nash equilibrium of user offloading strategy games and convex optimization of resource allocation were proved. The simulation results showed that the proposed algorithm could effectively reduce the energy consumption of users.

절차적인 지형 모델링과 텍스쳐링 (Procedural Terrain Modeling and Texturing)

  • 본 논문에서는 절차적인(procedural) 방법으로 지형을 모델링하고 텍스쳐링 하는 기법을 제안하고 구현하였다. 절차적인 기법에서 널리 쓰이는 노이즈 함수(noise function)를 이용하여 지형 데이터를 생성한다. 동시에 지형 기본적인 텍스쳐 자료를 입력받아 역시 노이즈 함수를 이용하여 텍스쳐를 생성한다. 이렇게 절차적인 기법으로 모델링과 텍스쳐링을 수행할 경우, 데이터를 파일이나 데이터베이스에 따로 저장한 필요가 없으므로, 거대한 또는 무한한 크기의 지형을 손쉽게 생성할 수 있다. 이 기법은 야외 지형을 필요로 하는 3D 온라인 게임(Online Game)에 응용될 수 있다. 또한, 인터넷상에서 가상공간을 구현한 때 지형 데이터를 서버로부터 다운 받을 필요가 없기 때문에 무한한 야외의 공간을 쉽게 구현할 수 있다.

저전력 RFID 시스템을 위한 해시 체인 기반의 경량화 된 상호 인증 프로토콜 (A Lightweight Mutual Authentication Protocol based Hash Chain for Low-power RFID Systems)

  • 저전력 RFID 시스템은 무선 주파수를 이용하여 물리적인 접촉 없이 사물에 대한 정보를 읽거나 기록하는 자동인식 기술이다. 이 시스템은 무선 주파수와 RFID 태그 사용으로 불법적인 위변조, 도청, 추적, 프라이버시 침해 등은 불가피하다 따라서 본 논문에서는 태그와 데이터베이스간에 해시 체인을 이용하여 키를 생성하는데 이를 통해 공격자는 위의 공격을 수행할 수 없다. 또한 계산 량을 줄이기 위해 해시 함수를 이용하여 효율성을 높였다.

홈네트워크를 위한 새로운 경량화된 상호인증 프로토콜 (A New Lightweight Mutual Authentication Protocol for Home Network)

  • 본 논문에서는 안전하고 효율적인 홈 네트워크 서비스를 제공하기 위해 경량화 된 상호인증 프로토콜을 제안한다. Lee 등은 공개키 연산을 이용하여 홈네트워크 상에서 속성기반의 인증된 키 교환 프로토콜을 제시하였다. 이 프로토콜에서는 전 방향 안전성을 제공하고 있으나 티켓을 이용한 두드러진 연산의 오버헤드를 줄이지는 못하고 있다. 따라서 제안하는 프로토콜은 해시함수와 카운터만을 이용하여 효율성과 안전성을 제공했다. 또한 세션키 생성후에는 사용자의 가전 제어 레벨을 체크함으로써 안전한 홈 네트워크 서비스를 제공할 수 있다.
