The sensorless speed control using the improved full-order flux observer for PMSM is proposed in this paper. A conventional full-order flux observer has a drawback that the estimated flux of this observer contains the ripple component at the low speed range due to the increased gains of the convectional full-order flux observer. The improved full-order flux observer with the modified gains guarantee the improved estimation performance without ripple component at the from zero to high speed range. To identify the performance of proposed observer, the simulation and experiment are conducted and this performance is compared with the conventional full-order observer.
A sensorless control method was recently investigated in the robot and automation industry. This method can solve problems related to the rise of manufacturing costs and system volume. In a vector control method, the rotor position estimated in the sensorless control method is generally used. This study is based on a conventional full-order flux observer. The proposed full-order flux observer estimates both currents and fluxes. Estimated d- and q-axis currents and fluxes are used to estimate the rotor position. In selecting the gains, the proposed full-order flux observer substitutes gain k for the speed information in the denominator of the gain for fast convergence. Therefore, accurate speed control in a low-speed region can be obtained because gains do not influence the estimation of the rotor position. The stability of the proposed full-order flux observer is confirmed through a root-locus method, and the validity of the proposed observer is experimentally verified using a surface permanent-magnet synchronous motor.

This paper proposes a sensorless control method to improve the performance of an internal permanent magnet synchronous motor (IPMSM) control by using a full-order flux observer in a wide speed range. The conventional sensorless control method uses a constant gain for high performance at low-speed region. However, this method has drawbacks such as an increased angle error and current ripple in the high-speed region due to the fixed gain value. In order to overcome this problem, the gain of the full-order flux observer is changed by considering the angle error in the whole speed range. The proposed method minimizes the angle error for each region of the speed range by applying a relevant gain value, which improves the current ripple reduction and motor noise cancellation. The validity of proposed sensorless control method is verified by a simulation and an experiment.
A direct stator flux vector control scheme in discrete-time domain is proposed in this paper for the interior permanent magnet synchronous motor (IPMSM) drive to remove the proportional-integral (PI) controller from the direct torque control (DTC) scheme applied to IPMSM and to obtain faster dynamic response and lower torque ripple output. The output of speed outer loop is used as the desired torque angle instead of the desired torque in the proposed scheme. The desired stator flux vector in dq coordinate is calculated with a given amplitude. The state-space equations in discrete-time for IPMSM are established, the actual stator flux vector is estimated in deadbeat manner by a full-order state observer, and then the closed-loop control is achieved by the pole placement. The stator flux error vector is utilized to calculate the reference stator voltage vector. Extracting the angle position and amplitude from the estimated stator flux vector and estimating the output torque are eliminated for the direct feedback control of the stator flux vector. The proposed scheme is comparatively investigated with a PI-SVM DTC scheme by experiment results. Experimental results show the feasibility and advantages of the proposed control scheme.

The rotor flux position is needed to perform vector control of induction motor. But rotor speed information is needed to get accurate the rotor flux position. It is difficult to implement the open loop method without speed information or the motor equation only because of noise or the motor parameter error. This paper presents the speed estimator can use the arbitrary rotor flux observer by separating the flux observer and speed estimator and apply the three flux observers proposed by Ohtani, Lorenz and full order flux observer. The validity of speed estimator presented is verified and the performance using the three rotor flux observers is analyzed by the simulation and experiment.

In this paper, the robust vector control method of Induction Motor for the purpose of improving the system performance deterioration caused by parameter variations is proposed. The full order state observer estimates the stator current and the rotor flux by using the state prediction of state variables. And, the motor speed is estimated without speed sensor using the full order state observer. Also, the parameter variation is compensate by the Sliding Observer. By using this method, speed sensorless control and current contol with no affection of the parameter variation can be obtained simultaneously.
This paper presents a hybrid sensorless control for an interior permanent magnet synchronous motor (IPMSM) for zero-, low-, and high-speed regions. Many sensorless control methods such as an observer-based estimator have been introduced. However, most of the observer-based estimators have a disadvantage at start-up and in the low-speed region. To solve this problem, a simple strategy of using a hybrid system is proposed by integrating a high-frequency (HF) signal injection method and a full-order flux observer. In addition, an HF signal injection method with only a low pass filter (LPF) is proposed to simplify the hybrid system. The hybrid system achieves high-performance drive throughout the entire speed range. The effectiveness of the proposed hybrid technique is verified by experiments using an 11-kW IPMSM drive system.

This paper presents an adaptive observer-based approach to estimate voltage parameters, including frequency, amplitude, and phase angle, for single-phase power systems. In contrast to most existing estimation methods of grid voltage parameters, in this study, grid voltage is treated as a dynamic system related to an unknown grid frequency. Based on adaptive observer theory, a full-order adaptive observer is proposed to estimate voltage parameters. A Lyapunov function-based argument is employed to ensure that the proposed estimation method of voltage parameters has zero steady-state error, even when frequency varies or phase angle jumps significantly. Meanwhile, a reduced-order adaptive observer is designed as the simplified version of the proposed full-order observer. Compared with the frequency-adaptive virtual flux estimation, the proposed adaptive observers exhibit better dynamic response to track the actual grid voltage frequency, amplitude, and phase angle. Simulations and experiments have been conducted to validate the effectiveness of the proposed observers.
This paper consists of the position control of induction motor using Generalized Predictive Control. Full order flux observer is also used for the purpose of estimating rotor fluxes. By using Generalized Predictive Control algorithm, the improved position control is realized in this paper. The proposed control method has been implemented by a 32 bit floating point TMS320C31 DSP chip.
