  • A high-voltage power supply has been built for activation of the brain via stimulation using a Full Wave Cockroft-Walton Circuit (FWCW). A resonant half-bridge inverter was applied (with half plus/half minus DC voltage) through a bidirectional power transistor to a magnetic stimulation device with the capability of producing a variety of pulse forms. The energy obtained from the previous stage runs the transformer and FW-CW, and the current pulse coming from the pulse-forming circuit is transmitted to a stimulation coil device. In addition, the residual energy in each circuit will again generate stimulation pulses through the transformer. In particular, the bidirectional device modifies the control mode of the stimulation coil to which the current that exceeds the rated current is applied, consequently controlling the output voltage as a constant current mode. Since a serial resonant half-bridge has less switching loss and is able to reduce parasitic capacitance, a device, which can simultaneously change the charging voltage of the energy-storage condenser and the pulse repetition rate, could be implemented. Image processing of the brain activity was implemented using a graphical user interface (GUI) through a data mining technique (data mining) after measuring the vital signs separated from the frequencies of EEG and ECG spectra obtained from the pulse stimulation using a 90S8535 chip (AMTEL Corporation).

  • This paper describes a full-wave rectifiers for energy harvesting circuit using vibration detector. The designed circuit operates only when the vibration is detected through the vibration detector and the active diode. When there is no vibration, the comparator is turned off to prevent leakage of energy stored in the $C_{STO}$. The energy stored in the capacitor is used to drive the level converter and the active diode. The energy stored in the capacitor is supplied to an active diode designed as an output power. The vibration detector is implemented with Schmitt Trigger and Peak Detector with Hysteresis function. The proposed circuit is designed in a CMOS 0.35um technology and its functionality has been verified through extensive simulations. The designed chip occupies $590{\mu}m{\times}583{\mu}m$.

  • This paper analyzes the effects of various operating voltages on the electrical and light output characteristics of 20mW(5mm-Ф), 1W and 5W high-power RGB LEDs. Operating voltages of three types are compared on a simple LED circuit: DC, full-wave rectified DC. and square-wave DC. As a result, it is found that the 1W and 5W high-power LEDs should be provided with appropriate heat sinks that hold down the increase of junction temperature. As for the operating efficiency the case of full-wave rectification gives the highest value.

  • In this paper, the energy transfer is associated with high frequency band and try to analysis the rectifier circuit structure and characteristics and find ways to maximum efficiency. Input signal at 13.56MHz is converted output DC signal with the experiments and measurements. Rectifier cirsuits can be divided into the half-wave, full-wave, bridge rectifier circuit. Research to the present with the passive components are carried out with a focus on efficiency improvements. Factors affecting the efficiency of rectification is dependent on the characteristics of the device. In this experiment, about 70% efficiency can be measured. By using an improved device for high efficiency could be obtained higher efficiency.

  • To have high flatness quality of hot rolled strip in the hot strip finishing mill train, a new inter-stand tension profile measuring device of segmented looper roll type(coined as Flatness Sensing Inter-stand Looper, FlatSIL) and a new flatness control system have been developed in this study. The device measures the strip tension profile across the strip width and informs the strip wave pattern to new flatness control system where work roll bending mode to relieve the strip wave is determined. The existing automatic shape control system which uses laser type shape-meter installed at the outlet of the last finishing mill stand strip tension between down coiler and last finishig mill since the latent wave concealed by the strip tension between down coiler and last finishing mill stand cannot be measured by the laser distance-meter. Thus the existing shape control system is not able to control the flatness through the full strip length. The new flatness control system, however, works for full strip length during strip rolling as far as the tension profile measuring device and work roll bender are on. With the new flatness control system, work roll bender is automatically controller to minimize the latent wave of the running strip and the flatness quality as well as strip travelling stability has been noticeably improved from strip head through body to tail.

  • Spectral fatigue damage calculations has been performed on four ships in order to assess the effect that the probabilistic modeling of sea states has on the estimated fatigue life. The damage estimation method is based on the Miner- Palmgren fatigue damage formulation and a spectral approach is used to determine the necessary variances of the stress processes. Both the horizontal and vertical hull girder bending induced stress process together with the local water pressure induced stress process is taken into account. The wave scatter diagrams are applied in the calculations and their fatigue severity is assessed by analyzing the results obtained with the ten scatter diagrams and the four ships. All four ships are analyzed both in full load and ballast conditions and while traveling at both full and reduced speed. It is found that the fatigue severity of a wave scatter diagram is dependent on several parameters, some of these being the extreme wave hight extrapolated from the scatter diagram and the mean zero up-crossing period in conjunction with the ship length . Based on these three parameters and expression is derived in order to calculate one single number describing the fatigue severity of a scatter diagram with respect to a certain ship.

  • An extended Jacobin elliptic function method is presented for constructing exact travelling wave solutions of nonlinear partial differential equations(PDEs) in a unified way. The main idea of this method is to take full advantage of the elliptic equation that Jacobin elliptic functions satisfy and use its solutions to replace Jacobin elliptic functions in Jacobin elliptic function method. It is interesting that many other methods are special cases of our method. Some illustrative equations are investigated by this means.

  • This paper presents a time-domain Gauss-Newton full-waveform inversion method for the material profile reconstruction in heterogeneous semi-infinite solid media. To implement the inverse problem in a finite computational domain, perfectly-matchedlayers( PMLs) are introduced as wave-absorbing boundaries within which the domain's wave velocity profile is to be reconstructed. The inverse problem is formulated in a partial-differential-equations(PDE)-constrained optimization framework, where a least-squares misfit between measured and calculated surface responses is minimized under the constraint of PML-endowed wave equations. A Gauss-Newton-Krylov optimization algorithm is utilized to iteratively update the unknown wave velocity profile with the aid of a specialized regularization scheme. Through a series of one-dimensional examples, the solution of the Gauss-Newton inversion was close enough to the target profile, and showed superior convergence behavior with reduced wall-clock time of implementation compared to a conventional inversion using Fletcher-Reeves optimization algorithm.

  • This paper presents the phase-shift full-bridge DC-DC converter using the one-chip micom. The proposed converter primary is the full-bridge power topology that operates with the unipolar pulse-width modulation (PWM) by the phase-shift method, and the secondary is the full-bridge full-wave rectifier composed of four diodes. The control of proposed converter is performed by the one-chip micom and its MOSFET switches are driven by the bootstrap circuit. Thus the total system of proposed converter is simple. The proposed converter achieves high-efficiency using the resonant circuit and blocking capacitor. In this paper, first, the power-circuit operation of proposed converter is explained according to each operation mode. And the power-circuit design method of proposed converter is shown, and the software control algorithm on the micom and the feedback and switch drive circuits operating the proposed converter are described, briefly. Then, the operation characteristics of proposed converter are validated through the experimental results of a designed and implemented prototype converter by the shown design and implementation method in this paper. The highest efficiency in the results was about 92%.
