Enhancing the Competitiveness of Organic Food Shops Using the SERVQUAL Scale

  • Purpose - This study focused on consumer perceptions of service quality in organic food shops, the innovativeness of organic products, and which SERVQUAL sub-dimensions increase purchase intentions. Another purpose of this study was to explore the relationship between consumer perceptions of organic food shops, their direct interest in organic food, and their purchase intentions. Research design, data, and methodology - We tested our hypothesized model within a structural equation modeling (SEM) framework, utilizing path-analysis implementation. The AMOS 18.0 software was used, and we found that it fit very well with the observed data. Results - The results of the full model (structural and measurement models) indicated the following fit indices: χ2=39.492, degree of freedom=25, provability level=0.033, RMR=0.047, GFI=0.948, AGFI=0.906, NNFI=0.958, CFI=0.984, and RMSEA=0.060. The effects of service quality on purchase intention, service quality on innovativeness, and innovativeness on purchase intention we resignificant. We also examined the statistical significance of the mediation effects using the Sobeltest and found further evidence to support service quality and purchase intention through innovation. Conclusions - These results suggest that, if organic food shops want to achieve a greater level of competitiveness, they must try to raise the quality of their service and actively promote the innovativeness of organic food.

Factors Affecting Intention to Purchase Green Products in Vietnam

  • The study aims to assess factors affecting intention to purchase green products in Vietnam. The study employs samples from customers who have actually experienced green consumption in Vietnam. The samples were collected by convenient sampling methods. The survey obtained 206 responses with full information. The survey was conducted from October 2019 to January 2020. The measurement scale was a 5-point scale with 1- completely disagree and 5- strongly agree. This study employs factor analysis and structural equation modelling analysis. The results showed that the social and environment sustainability awareness have positive effects on altruism of customers who are interested in green consumption. Altruism also has the same direction on green purchase intention. Besides, the attitude toward buying green and health consciousness affects green purchase intention. At the same time, the altruism and attitude towards buying green products also influence positively on green purchase intention. Besides, the health consciousness positively affects attitude towards buying green products. The results show that the health consciousness has a negative impact on intention to purchase green products. The findings suggest that it is necessary to raise customers' health consciousness, customers' altruism from disseminating knowledge about environmental protection as well as society to enhance the green consumption in Vietnam.

한국 여대생의 혈청과 두발중 아연 함량에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Zinc Concentration in Serum and Hair of Korean Female Collegians)

  • Due to the fact that blood gathering is not readily accepted by people, it has been difficult to make a full-scale study on zinc through blood analysis. For that reason, in this paper, a correlation of zinc contents in serum and hair was studied to find out whether only hair, which is relatively easy to collect, can be used for a measurement of zinc content. The subjects were 47 healthy female collegians selected at random whose average age was 22, mean height 159.1cm and average weight 49.7kg. The mean zinc value in serum of subjects was ${107.1}\pm{29.0}{\mu}g{/100ml}$, while the mean value in hair was ${150.2}\pm{42.7}ppm$. Correlation analysis shows that there was a significant correlation in zinc contents of serum and hair ( p<0.01). The results shows that measuring zinc level by using only hair samples would be satisfactory. But the use of hair sample for a measurement of zinc level has one demerit. That is, the method is more likely to be subjected to contamination because it makes more complicated procedures in sample preparation than the method of using blood sample.

The Effects of Psychological Climate Factors on Job Performance in Joint-Stock Commercial Banks in Vietnam

  • This research identifies the main factors of the psychological climate that directly affect the performance of banking employees in Vietnam. Besides, this research also takes into consideration the differences in gender, age, educational level, and income on working performance. A survey was obtained from 207 employees working at joint-stock commercial banks and the analysis was handled with SPSS 20 software supports. The result shows that the measurement scales meet the requirements of validity and reliability. Regression analysis demonstrates that there are four factors directly affecting the working performance: friendliness, personal development and learning opportunities, straight and open communication, and the support from the senior management. These four factors have created a healthy psychological climate in the banks, where employees will feel comfortable and happy to improve work performance. Furthermore, this research has found that the higher the income, the more efficiently employees will work. The results of this research contribute to the measurement scale of working environment factors. At the same time, this research also proposes some recommendations for organizational managers to build a reasonable working environment that can inspire a sense of mental comfort for employees to work at their full capacity and to achieve the highest performance.

대규모 나노여과 정수처리 시스템에서의 생물학적 안정성에 관한 연구 (Biostability Characterization in a Full-scale Nanofiltration Water Treatment System)

  • 이 연구에서는 대규모 나노여과 정수처리 시스템의 각 단계의 생물학적 안정성과 공정내의 AOC를 측정하고자 한다. 나노 여과 정수처리 시스템은 미 플로리다 주 남부의 Plantation 시의 $45,400\;m^3$/day (12 mgd) 규모의 연수화 시설에서 연구하였으며, 표면 대수층의 유기물이 많은 지하수를 원수로 이용하였다. 유입원수의 평균 AOC 농도는 158 g/L acetate-C이다. 전처리(산과 스케일 방지제첨가) 후 AOC농도는 12.7% 가량 증가하였는데, 이는 전처리 과정에서 투입된 화학물들이 생물학적 안정성을 저감시킬 수 있음을 의미한다. 전체적으로 나노여과공정은 63.4%와 94.8% 의 AOC 및 DOC 제거효율을 보였다. 특히 1단계에서의 AOC 제거율 (68%)이 2단계에서의 제거율 (58%)보다 다소 높았는데 이는 높은 회수율과 산 전처리과정이 있는 대규모 나노 공정 2단계에서 흔히 형성되는 낮은 pH 높은 이온강도 및 경도 등의 화학적 환경에 기인한다고 사료된다.

Analysis of the Structural Failure of Marine Propeller Blades

  • A series of detailed study was performed to identify the sources of the propeller blade failure and resolve the problem systematically, by use of the theoretical tools and by the direct measurement and observation in the full-scale sea trials. The selection of inexperienced propulsion control system with a reversible gear system is shown to cause the serious damage to the propeller blades in crash astern maneuver, when the rotational direction of the propeller is changed rapidly. Quasi-steady analysis for propeller blade strength using FEM code in bollard backing condition indicates that the safety factor should be order of 18∼20 to avoid the structural failure for the selected propeller geometry and reduction gear system.

The Effect of Uncertainty in Sea Trial Measurement System on Speed-Power Performance

  • Sea trial tests are necessary to verify speed-power performance, and are an import contract between ship owners and shipyards. The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) published ISO 15016:2015, which specifies the correlation method between model and full-scale ships. The results of sea trials have been questioned because of the uncertainty of speed and power measurements, especially when sea conditions differ from ideal calm water conditions. In this paper, such uncertainties were investigated by utilizing the standard speed-power trial analysis procedure defined in ISO 15016:2015 through Monte Carlo simulations. It was found that the expanded uncertainty of the delivered power (PDid) at 95 % confidence interval (k = 2) was ±1.5 % under 75 % MCR conditions.

  • Automobile sunroof buffeting is the tonal noise of low frequency around 20Hz. It occurs due to the acoustic feedback process between the shear layer detached from the leading edge of sunroof opening and the Helmholtz resonator-like property of a car cabin. In this paper, PIV visualization technique is applied to the unsteady flow field around sunroof opening of an SUV in the full-scale automotive wind tunnel in order to find out buffeting mechanism. A phase-marking PIV measurement method, in which image and sound pressure are recorded simultaneously, and a phase-rearrangement post-processing program were developed for capturing noise-related velocity fields without expensive synchronization systems. Through this study, some characteristics of the real-car sunroof shear layers under various deflector conditions were identified and these results can provide insights into the noise reduction mechanism of the tube-type deflector.

Monitoring of tall slender structures by GPS measurements

  • A method is applied for the estimation of structural damage of tall slender structures using natural frequency and displacements measurements by GPS. The relationship between the variation in the global stiffness matrix (or in the stiffness of each finite element) and the change in the natural frequencies of the structure is given. In engineering practice the number of frequencies which can be derived by GPS measurement of long-period structures will be equal to one, two or three first natural frequencies. This allows us in initial studies to detect damage with frequency changes based on forward methods in which the measured frequencies are compared with the predicted analytical data. This idea, of health monitoring from possible changes to natural frequencies, or from a statement of excessive displacements is applied to the Stuttgart TV Tower.

시화 해성점토 지반에서의 팽이기초의 수치해석연구 (The Numerical analysis of Top-Base Foundation in Siwha Marine Clay)

  • Full scale size model tests of the top-base foundation was performed in siwha marine clay and the site measurement results were compared with the analytical results from finite different programs, FLAC-2D to investigate the behavior of top-base foundation. The stress distribution obtained from the numerical analysis for the various types of foundation were compared and analysed during the application of allowable load as well as yield load. It was found that the top-base foundation prevents the lateral deformation of soft ground and stress dispersion effect to reduce the surface settlement, and that the foundation creates uniform stress distribution around it, therefore increasing bearing capacity.
