흑백영상처리장치를 이용한 다목적 과실선별기의 등급판정 알고리즘 개발 (Fruit Grading Algorithms of Multi-purpose Fruit Grader Using Black at White Image Processing System)

  • A series of study has been conducted to develop a multi-purpose fruit grader using a black & white image processing system equipped with a 550 nm interference filter. A device and high performance algorithms were developed for sizing and color grading of Fuji apple in the previous study. In this study an emphasis was put on finding correlations between weights of several kinds of fruits and their area fractions(AF), and on compensating the blurring effect upon sizing and color grading by conveying speed of fruit. Also, the effect of orientation and direction of fruit on conveyor during image forming was analyzed to identify any difficulty (or utilizing an automatic fruit feeder. The results are summarized as follows. 1. The correlation coefficients(r) between the weights of fruits and their image sizes were 0.984~0.996 for apples, 0.983~0.990 for peachs, 0.995 for tomato, 0.986 for sweet persimmon and 0.970~0.993 for pears. 2. It was possible to grade fruits by color with the area weighted mean gray values(AWMGV) based on the mean gray valves of direct image and the compensated values of reflected image of a fruit, and also possible to sort fruits by size with AF. Accuracies in sizing and color grading ranged over 81.0% ~95.0% and 82.0% ~89.7% respectively as compared with results from sizing by electronic weight scale and grading by expert. 3. The blurring effect on the sizing and color grading depending on conveying speed was identified and regression equations were derived. 4. It was found that errors in sizing and coloring grading due to the change in direction and orientation of Fuji apple on the conveyor were not significant as far as the stem end of apple keeping upward.

사과 단과지성 중간모본 "원교 가-단과지 1호" (Apple Intermediate Parent of Spur Type "Wonkyo Ga-Dangwagi 1")

  • "원교 가-단과지 1호"는 농촌진흥청 국립원예특작과학원에서 고품질 중생종 "Starkrimson"에 무측지성 "McIntosh Wijick"을 1992년에 교배하여, 2000년부터 2008년까지 그 특성을 조사한 결과, 과실 특성이 뛰어난 계통을 중간모본으로 최종 선발 하였다. 만개기는 "홍로"와 비슷하거나 2일 정도 느리고, 숙기는 "홍로"보다 일주일 정도 느리다. 수세는 중, 수자는 반개장형이고, 단과지 형성 및 착과량은 "홍로"와 같이 많은 편이다. 과실은 장원추형이며, 과피색은 "홍로"와 같이 선홍색이다. 평균 과중은 218 g 내외이며, 당도는 $14^{\circ}Bx$로 높고, 산도는 0.41%로 새콤한 맛과 달콤한 맛이 아주 뛰어나 청년층의 기호가 높을 것으로 예상된다.

Phytophthora cactorum에 의한 복숭아 과일역병 (Fruit Rot of Peach (Prunus persica) Caused by Phytophthora cactorum)

  • A severe brown rot on peach fruit caused by a Phytophthora sp. has occurred at peach orchards in Taegu of Korea from late June to early August in 1997. Infected fruits showed irregularly round or circular water soaking brown regions. In the severe case, fruits were entirely rotten and surface of the fruits were wrinkled. Occasionally, white mycelia and abundant sporangia were developed on the surface of fruit. Inner tissues of the fruits were also discolored to brown. The causal fungus was identified as Phytophthora cactorum based on following characteristics. Sporangia were ovoid, conspicuously papillate, caducous and measured as 28.4~48.1$\times$21.9~37.2 (av. 39.9$\times$30.4) ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$. Sexuality of the fungus was homothallic. Oogonia were 25.0~34.0 (av. 29.9) ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ in size. Most antheridia were paragynous and measured av. 10.5$\times$13.0 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$. Optimum temperature for mycelia growth was around 25~3$0^{\circ}C$. However none of the isolates grew under 7$^{\circ}C$ and over 35$^{\circ}C$. The fungus revealed high pathogenicity to fruits, shoots and leaves of peach, apple and pear with different degrees. Phytophthora fruit rot of peach caused by Phytophthora cactorum has not been reported in Korea previously.

지베렐린과 2,4-D 처리를 이용한 토마토 착과율 및 수확량 증가 (Fruit Set and Yield Enhancement in Tomato (Lycopersicon esculentum Mill.) Using Gibberellic Acid and 2,4-Dichlorophenoxy Acetic Acid Spray)

  • 토마토의 착과와 수확량은 여름철 비닐하우스내 고온스트레스로 인하여 감소하게 된다. 본 연구는 여름철 화천지역에 위치한 비닐하우스에서 지베렐린($GA_3$)과 2,4-Dichlorophenoxy Acetic Acid(2,4-D) 처리가 토마토의 수확량, 착과율, 착과 후 과실품질에 미치는 영향을 알아보기 위해 'Adoration' 품종을 이용하여 실험하였다. $GA_3$ 0-, 5-, 10-, $15mg{\cdot}L^{-1}$와 2,4-D 0-, 5-, $10mg{\cdot}L^{-1}$를 개화 초기에 처리한 후 착과율, 수확량, 과실품질과 관련된 형질을 관찰한 결과, $GA_3$ $10mg{\cdot}L^{-1}$처리구에서 대조구에 비해 14.2%의 착과율 증가를 보였다. $GA_3$처리구에서는 수확량, 과중, 상품과실 수에 유의한 차이가 있었다. 2,4-D를 개화기에 처리했을 경우 착과율, 수확량, 상품과의 과중에 영향을 미쳤으며 $GA_3$과 2,4-D를 각각 $5mg{\cdot}L^{-1}$ 농도로 혼합처리 하였을 때 가장 높은(62.5%) 착과율을 나타내었다. 과실크기와 고형물함량은 $GA_3$처리구에서만 유의성 있는 차이를 보였다. 따라서 여름철 비닐하우스의 고온조건에서 $GA_3$ $0mg{\cdot}L^{-1}$처리구와 2,4-D $5mg{\cdot}L^{-1}$를 처리했을 때 착과율이 가장 높아 많은 수확량을 기대할 수 있을 것으로 판단된다.

도시 규모 별 청소년의 건강생활 실천 차이와 관련 요인 (Analysis of the Differences in Healthy Behaviors of Adolescents by Regional Size and Related Factors)

  • Purpose: This study is to compare adolescents' health behaviors by city size and to propose regionally tailored health promotion. Methods: We analyzed the data from the 17th Youth Health Risk Behavior Online Survey, national widly performed in 2021. Multi-sample descriptive and linear regression analysis was performed by city size. Results: The frequency of fruit consumption in the last week was 2.88 in the rural area, which is lower than 2.98 and 3.05 in other cities (F=10.98, p<.001). The number of high-intensity physical activity days in the last week (7 days) was 2.90 days in the rural area, higher than 2.74 and 2.73 days in other cities (F=3.36, p=.038). The number of days smoking cigarettes in the last 30 days was 3.23 days in the rural area, higher than 3.08 and 3.02 days in other cities (F=3.41, p=.035). BMI was 22.01 in the rural area, which was higher than 21.57 and 21.61 in other cities (F=4.19, p=.015). Conclusion: School health offices in the rural area districts need to operate to manage lack of fruit intake, smoking, and weight management programs in association with local healthcare institutions.

현호색속 Pes-gallinaceua절 집단의 종자생산 (Seed Production of Pes-gallinaceua(Corydalis, Fumariaceae) Group)

  • 남한산성 지역에서 춘계단명식물인 현호색 자연집단에 대해 2년간 종자생산의 특성을 조사하였다. 개화는 4월초에, 종자생산은 5월초에 일어나 개화로부터 종자생산까지는 30일이 소요되었으며 생식기관의 수가 감소하는 시기는 낙화 및 결실기 사이가 가장 큰 것으로 나타났다. 개체 당 생산하는 꽃의 수는 1∼13개, 종자의 수는 0∼76개, 열매 당 종자의 수는 0∼20개이었다. 한 개체 내에서 열매 당 종자생산량은 가장 아래에 위치한 꽃이 11.8개로 많았으며 상부로 이행할수록 급격히 감소하였다. 동일한 개체가 생산하는 종자의 수는 매년 큰 폭으로 변하였으며 작은 개체는 다음해 많은 수의, 큰 개체는 적은 수의 증자를 생산하였다. 생육초기 개화체의 비율은 개체의 크기(괴경의 부피)가 증가할수록 증가하였으며 가장 작은 크기 계급인 <100 ㎣에서 5.0%(1999)∼5.4%(2000)를, 600㎣≤ 에서 100%를 나타냈다. 한편, 각 계급별 평균 꽃의 수는 2000년이 1999년보다 많았다. 특히 900 ㎣≤에서는 6.5개(1999)와 13.2개(2000)로 현저한 차이를 보였다. 생육후기 개화체의 비율은 <100 ㎣에서 13.3%이었고 500 ㎣≤ 에서 100%이었다. 따라서 생육초기보다 개화체의 비율이 다소 높게 나타났다. 괴경의 체적이나 건중량의 크기에 따른 열매의 수 및 종자의 수는 대체로 증가하였지만 경향성은 뚜렷하지 않았고 동일 크기계급 내에서도 개체마다 편차가 심하였다. 한편, 엽면적이 증가할수록 열매의 수나 종자의 수는 뚜렷이 증가하였다. 따라서 종자의 생산량은 생육기간동안 광합성량과 관계가 깊은 것으로 볼 수 있었다.

제주산 보통온주의 품질특성 (Physicochemical properties on the quality evaluation of Citrus unshiu produced in Cheju)

  • In order to determine the quality of Citrus unshiu(medium cultivar of satsuma mandarin) produced in Cheju, citrus fruits sampled at sorting places and harvested directly on citrus tree in south and north area of Cheju were analyzed. The fruits were grown in size till early of November, and soluble solids were increased continuously after that. Compared with the quality of citrus fruits as a factor of soluble solids, firmness, total sugar, pH, and color index, the optimum harvest periods were supposed to be reasonable from early of December for C. unshiu Marc. var. yonezawa and C. unshiu Marc. var. hayashi, Fruit weights and peel thickness had a linear correlation with increasing fruit size, but soluble solids and acid contents had not a correlation. The selection of C. unshiu variety was needed to determine by the properties of storage.

표고톱밥재배시 톱밥 크기 및 첨가제의 혼합 여부에 따른 생산성 비교 (Comparison of Productivity According to Sawdust Size and Effect of Additives for Sawdust Cultivation of Shiitake)

  • 표고톱밥재배시 톱밥의 크기와 첨가제의 혼합 여부에 따른 생산성 차이를 확인하기위해 연구를 수행하였다. 표고균사가 배지 표면에 만연되는데 까지 걸린 시간을 조사한 결과, $CaCO_3$, $KNO_3$을 첨가한 $3{\sim}5\;mm$ 톱밥 처리구와 $CaCO_3$$KNO_3$을 첨가하지 않은 $3{\sim}5\;mm$ 톱밥 처리구가 가장 빨랐다. 그리고 중량감소율 조사에서는 $CaCO_3$$KNO_3$을 첨가하지 않은 1 mm 이하 톱밥 처리구가 가장 높았다. 발생 차수별로 버섯이 발생되는 경향도 처리구에 따라 약간씩 달랐다. $CaCO_3$$KNO_3$을 첨가한 1 mm 이하 톱밥 처리구의 경우에는 1, 2차발생에서 수확량의 80% 이상이 생산되었다. 반면에, $CaCO_3$$KNO_3$을 첨가하지 않은 1 mm 이하와 $5{\sim}7\;mm$ 톱밥 혼합 처리구는 1, 2차발생 보다 3, 4차발생에서의 수확량이 더 많았고 1, 2차 발생에서의 수확량이 전체 수확량에서 차지하는 비율은 34%였다. 생산성 조사 결과, 수확량과 버섯개수가 처리구별로 많은 차이를 보였다. 총수확량과 버섯개수가 각각 568 g, 67개였던 $CaCO_3$, $KNO_3$을 첨가한 $3{\sim}5\;mm$ 톱밥 처리구가 가장 많았으며, 각각 227 g, 24개가 수확된 $CaCO_3$$KNO_3$을 첨가하지 않은 1 mm 이하와 $2{\sim}3\;mm$ 톱밥 혼합 처리구 및 $CaCO_3$$KNO_3$을 첨가하지 않은 1 mm 이하와 $5{\sim}7\;mm$ 톱밥 혼합 처리구가 가장 적었다. 그리고 10 g 이상 되는 버섯의 수확량 조사에서는 $CaCO_3$, $KNO_3$을 첨가한 $3{\sim}5\;mm$ 톱밥 처리구가 397 g으로 가장 많았다.

'Mansu', a Hardy Kiwifruit (Actinidia arguta Planch. et Miq.) Cultivar with Improved Storage Life

  • In general, the storage life of hardy kiwifruit (Actinidia arguta) is approximately one month, even in cold storage, which is a limiting factor for its commercialization due to the short marketing period. This short shelf life is in contrast to those of green kiwifruit (A. deliciosa, 6 to 8 months) and gold kiwifruit (A. chinensis, 4 to 6 months). To increase the storage life of hardy kiwifruit, we performed a cross between A. arguta (a local collection, 'Hy2-1', female) and A. deliciosa ('Matua', male) at Wando station at the Fruit Research Institute of JARES, Korea in 1999. After the first selection in 2006, we clonally propagated the hybrid plants by grafting them onto A. arguta seedlings in Gwangyang and Haenam province, Korea. We performed the final selection of this cultivar in 2012 and applied for plant protection rights from the Korea Forest Research Institute in 2013. Several experimental orchards have been established for commercial production. 'Mansu' begins to flower on May 20 in Gwangyang. The horticultural maturity date in 'Mansu', when the soluble solid content reaches $7^{\circ}Bx$, is October 15, whereas that of the control variety ('Chiak') is October 5. The average fruit size of 'Mansu' is approximately 15 g. The soluble solid content of 'Mansu' is approximately 16 to $17^{\circ}Bx$ after ripening. The total yield of mature 'Mansu' vines is estimated to be 2.2 to 2.5 tons per 10a. The fruit firmness of 'Mansu' exceeded 1.5 kg/5 mmØ until 70 days after storage (at 0 and $1^{\circ}C$). Therefore, 'Mansu' fruits have much longer storability than the control. The cultivation and production of 'Mansu' may extend the marketing period for hardy kiwifruit.

화총내 착과위치에 따른 '신고' 배 (Pyrus pyrifolia Nakai) 과실의 품질비교 (Comparison of Fruit Quality among Fruits Set on Various Position within Cluster in 'Niitaka' Pears)

  • In order to prepare the technical fundamental in production of premium quality fruits of 'Niitaka' pears, we compared the quality parameters and storability of the fruits that had various fruit set position in a cluster. The fruits set on $4^{th}$ from basal part in fruit cluster had the largest fruit size. The weight of fruits set on the higher position than $4^{th}$ from basal part in fruit cluster showed decreasing tendency. The production rates of marketable fruits which had 500g to 899g in weight were the high in $3-5^{th}$ from basal part in cluster than those in other position. The differences of fruit height and diameter which represent balanced fruit shape also showed less difference in the fruits set on $4-5^{th}$ from basal part in cluster than the fruits set closely on basal part in cluster. The fruits set on $3-4^{th}$ from basal part in cluster showed lower rate in incidence of core breakdown and pithiness disorder during 4 months of cold storage than those on the closer position to basal part in cluster.
