  • The mode analysis of end-milling was introduced using recursive parametric modeling. Also, a numerical mode analysis of FRF in end-milling at different conditions was performed systematically. In this regard, a REIVM(recursive extended instrumental variable method) modeling algorithm was adopted and natural modes of real and imaginary part were discussed. This recursive approach can be used for the on-line system identification and monitoring of an end-milling for this purpose. For acquiring a cutting force, an experimental practice was performed. And these end-milling forces were used for the calculation of FRF(Frequency response function) and its mode analysis. Also, the FRF was analysed for the prediction of end-milling system. As a results, this algorithm was successful in each condition for the detection of natural modes of end-milling. After numerical analysis of the FRF, the tooth passing frequency was discriminated in their FRF, power spectrum and mode calculation.

  • In this study, the method for calculation of the frequency transfer function of motions based on the multi-directional waves in the analysis of a full-scale seakeeping trials is presented. For calculation of the frequency transfer function in the directional waves, Takezawa's inverse estimation method was introduced and the frequency ranges were divided into three parts in order to consider following seas. To confirm the validity of this method, the numerical simulation was executed. Those results show that analysis method of the multi-directional waves is more reliable than that of one directional waves, and confirm the possibility of applying this method to the full-scathe seakeeping trials.

  • In this paper, we propose and implement a high-speed algorithm for CGH that is to calculate digital hologram by modeling the interference phenomenon for tow lights. This algorithm changes the computation equations into a parallel-computable ones and implements it with a structure consisting of two kinds of cells (initial calculation cell, and update calculation cell). The parallel computation algorithm is to get the rest hologram pixels concurrently after calculation the first hologram column. Here, the initial calculation cells compute the first column of the hologram and the update calculation cells compute the rest of the hologram. The two kinds of cells performs a pipeline operation to complete the operations of the two cells at the same time. A CGH calculator to compute the hole hologram for a light source is structured by arranging the two kinds of cells. Results from simulation showed that the maximum operation frequency is about 215MHz. So, experiments are performed by setting this frequency and the same environments as the method showing the best performance. As the results, the proposed one could complete the computation of 81.75 CGH frames per second, while the previous method computes 62.9 CGH frames per second.

  • A method for the identification of mechanical parameters based on integral calculation is presented. Both the moment of inertia and the friction constant are identified by the method developed here, which is based on well-known mechanical differential equations. The mechanical system under test is excited according to a pre-determined low-frequency sinusoidal motion, minimizing the distortion, and increasing the accuracy of the results. The parameters are identified using integral calculation, increasing the robustness of the results against measurement noise. Experimental data are supported by simulation, confirming the effectiveness of the proposed technique. The performance improvements shown here are of use in the design of speed and position controllers and observers. Owing to its simplicity, this method can be readily applied to commercial inverter products.

  • This paper proposes a novel rotor position error calculation method for high-frequency signal-injected sensorless control. The rotor position error using the conventional modulation method can be only measured up to ${\pm}45^{\circ}$. In addition, when the rotor position estimation error is not sufficiently small, the small angle approximation in no longer valid. To overcome these problems, this study introduces a new rotor position error calculation method using the rotating matrix. In this study, the position error measurement range of the proposed method is extended from ${\pm}45^{\circ}$ to ${\pm}90^{\circ}$. The linearity between the real rotor position error and the estimated error is maintained by nearly $90^{\circ}$. These features of the proposed method improve the performance of the sensorless control. The validity of the proposed method is verified by simulations and experiments.

  • A finite-element method in order to invesligate the propagation characteristics of waveguide is used and most of varjational expressione of the propagation constant are a funetional of frequency. Consequently, if the permeability or permitlivity of the medium is a funetion of frequency the calculation becomes almost impossible. In this paper our method can be applied to the case where the permittivity or permeability of the media is a function of frequency and is useful for the analysis of any arbitrality dielectric wavegudie.

  • The asynchronous gyro outputs in the 3-axis navigation system are defined as each of gyros has its own output frequency. In this case, the navigation system has gyro outputs concurrently with the sensor mechanical frequency instead of the attitude frequency. So, there is an asynchronous error between gyro outputs and attitude calculation. In this paper, we analyze the gyro output error caused by the asynchronous gyro and present the high speed sampling technique and the extrapolation and interpolation of gyro outputs for synchronizing the gyro outputs.

  • The enhancement of fingerprint image is necessary to improve the performance of fingerprint recognition. The enhancement of fingerprint image with Gabor Filter(GF) is widely used. However GF has the weakness such as long processing time and the sensitivity to ridge frequency. To overcome these weaknesses, we propose a Modified Anisotropic Gaussian Filter(MAGF) which is modified from Anisotropic Filter proposed by S. Greenburg's(SAF). This proposed MAGF can reduce the calculation time of ridge frequency and improve the weakness of sensitivity to ridge frequency. We also explained that MAGF is better than others mathematically and experimentally.

  • This paper proposes a new approach for calculating frequency and duration by using the moment matching technique. Two separate expressions are derived, one for the loss of load expectation(LOLE) and the other for the loss of load frequency(LOLF). These expressions are combination of exponentials and are therefore easily integrable and can be readily evaluated. The proposed approach is quite comparable of with the other methods at the aspect of accuracy and efficiency.
