화물열차 증편일정 결정모형 (Additional Freight Train Schedule Generation Model)

  • 화물열차를 이용하는 화주의 화물열차 수요는 기간에 따라 변동성이 크나 화주의 요구에 따라 화물열차 스케줄을 조정하거나 증편하는 것은 상당한 시간이 소요된다. 그 이유는 해의 범위가 폭발적으로 증가하고 선로용량, 운영규정, 기존열차와의 경합 등을 고려해야하기 때문이다. 그러나 국내 철도 운영사에서 화물열차 증편일정 조정 업무는 지속적으로 발생하고 있으며, 담당자의 경험적인 역량으로 해결해 왔다. 본 논문에서는 증편되는 화물열차의 운행 가능성을 판단하고, 증편요청열차들이 기존 열차의 운행시간 지연을 최소로 하면서 가급적 많은 추가 스케줄을 생성할 수 있는 모형을 제시한다. 제시된 모형은 시공간 네트워크로 문제를 표현하고 다중상품 흐름문제로 모델링하여 열생성 기법으로 해를 구하였다. 제시된 모형으로 3가지 실험을 수행하였으며, 복잡한 문제의 경우에도 계산시간상 실용적임을 확인하였다.

  • 본 연구는 철도물류터미널에서 작업선 배정 및 열차조성을 위한 최적화 모형을 제시한다. 본 연구에서는 하루 터미널 작업 종료시간을 최소화하며 처리 컨테이너수를 최대화하는 다기준 정수 계획 모형을 개발하였고, 의왕ICD로부터의 실제 데이터로부터 구성된 현실 문제에 대해 본 모형을 적용하여 실험하였다. 실험 결과 목적함수의 가중치에 따라 다양한 파레토 최적해를 산출할 수 있었으며, 기존의 해보다 전체 작업종료 시간을 약 6% 감소시켰으며 이러한 결과는 본 연구에서 개발한 최적화 모형을 적용할 경우 설비의 추가적인 확장 없이도, 철도 컨테이너 터미널의 처리효율 향상을 가져올 수 있음을 의미한다.

A Study on the Improvement of Release Application Characteristics of Pneumatic Brakes for Freight Train

  • We have performed experimental studies for the improvements of pneumatic brake systems of freight trains. Currently, most of the freight trains operated by the Korean National Railroad have either empty-load or diaphragm type brake systems. In this study, appropriate methods that the air pressure characteristics in both type of brake systems are in accordance with each other have been investigated. We have also performed running tests using a 30 car-train set to design optimum capacity of a quick release valve. The test results show that the quick release valve is considerably effective in shortening the release time of the diaphragm type brake system. In the case of a normal brake application, the diaphragm type brake system with the quick release valve reduces the release time to 34% of that of the system without the quick release valve. This release time is almost equivalent to that of the empty-load type brake system. Accordance of braking performance in different types of brake systems in a train set is expected to prevent wheel flats and to reduce maintenance costs.

  • To reduce the cost and time of transport in Eurasian railroad networks such as TKR, TCR and TSR owing to the problem of different track gauges(narrow/standard/broad gauge), it is important to develop the gauge - adjustable wheelset system to adapt easily to these gauges. Moreover, freight trains having the gauge - adjustable wheelset will be run various curved tracks in railroad networks. Therefore, to assure the safety of the gauge-adjustment wheelset system, it is necessary to evaluate integrity of locking parts in the system using stress analysis. In this study, it was performed to contact stress analysis of locking parts by using FEA(finite element analysis) simulator during the gauge changeover operation and freight trains' service in the curved track, respectively.

  • In these days, rail container service is being more important because it has relatively simple network. In addition, small lot sizes of shipment, frequent shipment, and demand for flexible service are important characteristics in rail container transportation. Efficient container operation at terminals is important in reducing transportation costs and load/unload time. This paper describes the assigning track of freight trains in the railway freight terminal. The paper addresses the operational requirements and facility restrictions to construct a mathematical model for track assignment. In addition, it suggests several types of objectives for the model.

열차 증편방법에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Additional Train Scheduling Method)

  • 여객 증편열차 운영은 수송력 보강이나 관광열차 운행을 위해 증편된다. 화물열차의 경우는 철도화물수요를 위해 주로 증편된다. 기존 연구들에서는 증편열차 스케줄 작성을 위해 추가 열차의 운행시각을 지정한 후에 운행가능성을 판단한다. 그러나 국내에서 이러한 방법의 경우 추가열차의 증편이 불가능한 경우가 많다. 왜냐하면 한국철도 네트워크는 운행밀도가 높고 여러 차종이 있기 때문이다. 특히 화물열차의 경우 여객열차와의 경합이 발생할 때마다 지연이 증가되거나 운행이 불가능하다. 본 논문에서는 출발시각이 지정된 요청열차 스케줄과 시간범위 내에 운행 가능한 스케줄을 찾을 수 있는 열차 증편모형을 제시한다. 제시된 모형은 혼합정수 계획법으로 모델링하고 열 생성기법을 사용하였다.

  • Experimental study is conducted to clarify the pneumatic characteristics of brake system for freight train. Empty-load and diaphragm brake systems are mainly installed in the freight trains owned by KNR(Korean National Railroad). Experimental train set is composed of sixteen freight train and one diesel locomotive that are now in use. From the experimental results, in case of commercial brake, empty-load brake system responds to the brake command more slowly than the diaphragm brake system. But, in case of release command, the response time of diaphragm brake system is shorter than that of empty-load one. In the emergency brake test, the decreasing rate of brake pipe pressure of tenth car is almost same that of decreasing rate of commercial brake service.

Empty-load and diaphragm valves are installed in pneumatic brake system for freight trains of KNR (Korean National Railroad). Experiments are conducted by using freight train and diesel locomotive in operation. From the experimental results. new quick release valve shortens release time after brake application. In case of normal brake application, the release time is shortened to 34% of the original diaphragm valve. Reducing the release time of pneumatic brake system will be helpful to assure brake-release application and save maintenance efforts like wheel grinding.

  • Recently, in order to improve the efficiency of freight transportation on existing lines, a new freight train model is needed to develop urgently. The weight balance of the cargo for the freight vehicle is very important for the stability of the running train and the safe transportation of the cargo. For achieving the cargo weight balance, we proposed a Cargo Balancing Control(CBC) system on the Freight vehicle equipped in between under frame of car body and bogie system. The Cargo Safety Monitoring(CSM) system was designed to supervise status of the Cargo on freight train. The monitoring system can display real time status data from sensors and various signals effectively. We suggested that this paper is a very useful approach for keeping the safety of running freight trains on existing lines.
