자유단이 회전스프링으로 구속된 Beck 기둥의 안정성 (Stability of beck's column with a rotatory spring restraining its free end)

  • An analysis is presented on the stability of an elastic cantilever column subjected to a concentrated follower force as to the influence of the elastic restraint and a tip mass at the free end. The elastic restraint is formed by the rotatory springs. For this purpose, the governing equations and boundary conditions are derived by using Hamilton's principle, and the critical flutter loads and frequencies are obtained from the numerical evaluation of the eigenvalue functions of the considered system.

The effects of scaling factors and quantization in sensors on free motion of teleoperation system

  • One of the advantages of master-slave teleoperation is scaling concept such as position scaling, force scaling Meanuhile, lots of quantization effects are generated from position and force sensors in the master and slave manipulator. In this paper, to show the output error caused by the quantizaion effects from the position sensor and position scaling factor, simulation is done for free motion without contact in slave side. Transfer functiion model in which the quantization effect is assumed to be a disturbance input to the system is derived. Model shows that Jacobian, scaling factors, and controller affect the output by quantization effects form esnsors. One dof master and slave are used for simulation. In our study, the higher sensor resolution decreases the output error form quantization. Scaling factors can amplify the quantizatiion effects form the sensors in master and slave manipulators.

A Method for Local Collision-free Motion Coordination of Multiple Mobile Robots

  • This paper presents a new method driving multiple robots to their goal position without collision. To consider the movement of the robots in a work area, we adopt the concept of avoidability measure. To implement the concept in collision avoidance of multiple robots, relative distance between the robots is proposed. The relative distance is a virtual distance between robots indicating the threat of collision between the robots. Based on the relative distance, the method calculates repulsive force against a robot from the other robots. Also, attractive force toward the goal position is calculated in terms of the relative distance. The proposed method is simulated for several cases. The results show that the proposed method steers robots to open space anticipating the approach of other robots. The proposed method works as a local collision-free motion coordination method in conjunction with higher level of task planning and path planning method for multiple robots to do a collaborative job.

변위비례식 마찰댐퍼 시스템의 진동해석 (Vibration Analysis of an Amplitude Proportional Friction Damper System)

  • An Amplitude Proportional Friction Damper (APFD) is considered in order to improve the characteristics of Coulomb friction damper. The frictional force is proportional to the amplitude in APFD system and the system is non-linear as is Coulomb damper system. A free vibration analysis on the 1-DOF system has made to demonstrate the characteristics of the APFD system. The results show that APFD system has similar damping characteristics to the viscous damper. Also, the solution for the response of a base-excited system with APFD is developed through the application of a Fourier series to represent the frictional force of APFD. It is assumed that no stick-slips occur during any portion of the steady-state oscillation.

Vibration reduction of a pipe conveying fluid using the semi-active electromagnetic damper

  • This paper deals with a uniform cantilever Euler-Bernoulli beam subjected to follower and transversal force at its free end as a model for a pipe conveying fluid under electromagnetic damper force. The electromagnetic damper is composed of a permanent-magnet DC motor, a ball screw and a nut. The main objective of the current work is to reduce the pipe vibration resulting from the fluid velocity and allow it to transform into electric energy. To pursue this goal, the stability and vibration of the beam model was studied using Ritz and Newmark methods. It was observed that increasing the fluid velocity results in a decrease in the motion of the free end of the pipe. The results of simulation showed that the designed semiactive electromagnetic damper controlled by on-off damping control strategy decreased the vibration amplitude of the pipe about 5.9% and regenerated energy nearly 1.9 (mJ/s). It was also revealed that the designed semi-active electromagnetic damper has better performance and more energy regeneration than the passive electromagnetic damper.

  • The side jet effects between jet flow and free-stream on a missile body were investigated by experimentally and numerically for modeling aerodynamic coefficients in pitch plane. K-factors for normal force and pitching moment were introduced to estimate the side jet effects. The main parameters of the jet interaction phenomena were angle of attack, jet pressure ratio, Mach number and jet bank angle. The K-factors for normal force coefficient and pitching moment coefficients in pitch plane were analysed.

  • With the development of micro -technology, the demand for micro actual ing device is increasing. But, it is difficult to achieve high resolution and wide bandwidth with the conventional contact systems. So, the contact-free systems which are suspended or levitated by magnetic force or air bearing were proposed. These systems can be applied to high precision stages and alignment apparatuses. This paper describes a magnetically suspended system with four degrees of freedom which are composed of three rotations (roll, pitch, yaw), and one translation ( z). The operating principle and the structure of the system are similar to variable reluctance type electric machines. In this study, the force analysis is executed using magnetic circuit and virtual work principle, and the equations that describe the dynamics of the system are presented. The multivariable PID controller is adapted to the system and the experiment is executed.

  • Axial fans are widely used in heavy machines due to their ability to produce high flow rate fur cooling of engines. At the same time, the noise generated by these fans causes one of the most serious problems. This work is concerned with the low noise technique of discrete frequency noise. To calculate the unsteady resultant force over the fan blade in an unsymmetric engine room, Time-Marching Free-Wake Method is used. From the calculations of unsteady force on fan blades, noise signal of an engine cooling fan is calculated by using an acoustic similarity law. (omitted)

변단면 기둥의 자유진동 및 최소임계하중 해석 (Free Vibrations and First Critical Loads of Tapered Columns)

  • The main purpose of this paper is to present both the natural frequencies and the first critical loads of tapered columns. The ordinary differential equation governing the free vibration for tapered columns under compressive axial force is derived. Three kinds of cross sectional shape are considered in the governing equation. The Runge-Kutta method and determinant search method are used to perform the integration of the differential equation and to determine the natural frequencies, respectively. Additionally, the bisection method is used to determine the critical loads. In numerical examples, the effects of compressive axial force on the natural frequencies of tapered columns are investigated varying the end conditions. The first critical loads of tapered columns are determined on the basis of dynamic concepts. The first critical loads of tapered columns are determined on the basis of dynamic concept.   • High speed milling(HSM) is one of the emerging cutting process having tremendous potential not only in increased metal removal rates but also in improved surface finish, burr free edge, dimensional accuracy and a virtually stress free component after machining. The High efficiency and accuracy in machining of die/mold materials can be obtained in high speed machining, so it is necessary to analytic the mechanism of high speed cutting process : cutting force, acoustic emission signal.
