화산재 확산 예측결과의 삼차원 가시화 기법 (3D Visualization Techniques for Volcanic Ash Dispersion Prediction Results)

  • 대한민국은 화산재해로부터 안전한 지역으로 알려져 왔다. 그러나 최근의 관측 결과들은 한반도 최 북 단에 위치한 백두산이 더 이상 휴화산이 아님을 보여주고 있다. 백두산 화산이 폭발한다면 남한지역에서는 화산재에 의한 다양한 피해가 예상된다. 특히 공중의 화산재는 운항되는 비행기의 계기판 및 엔진을 마비시킴으로써 대형 항공사고를 유발할 수 있다. 따라서 화산재의 삼차원 확산을 예측하여 화산재가 있는 항로를 비행할 것으로 예상되는 비행기 운항을 중지시키는 것이 매우 중요하다고 할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 화산재 확산 예측결과의 삼차원 가시화 기법을 다룬다. 우선 화산재 확산 예측 데이터의 취득에 대하여 소개한다. 확산 예측 데이터는 화산재 확산 시뮬레이션 프로그램인 Fall3D를 이용한다. 다음으로 세 가지 화산재 확산 예측결과의 가시화 기법을 제안한다. 첫 번째 기법은 '공중의 큐브' 방식으로 화산재의 입자 농도별로 다른 색을 가진 반투명 큐브를 공중에 배치하는 방식이다. 두 번째 기법은 '큐브안의 큐브'방식으로 '공중의 큐브' 방식을 개선하여 농도의 정도에 따라 큐브의 분할 정도를 달리하여 배치하는 방식이다. 마지막 방식은 '반투명 화산재 평면' 기법으로 화산재 농도를 가지고 있는 레이어 들을 적층하고 투명효과를 적용하는 방식이다. 본 논문에서 제시한 방법을 기반으로 사용자는 목적에 맞는 방식대로 화산재 확산 예측 결과를 삼차원 가시화 할 수 있을 것이다.

낙석방지울타리의 성능평가 I: 성능평가기준 (Performance Assessment for Rockfall Protection Systems I: Performance Assessment Criteria)

  • 본 연구에서는 낙석방지울타리에 대한 표준화된 시험이 가능하도록 성능평가에 필요한 성능등급, 시험방법, 평가기준을 제안하고자 하였다. 국내 낙석자료를 이용하여 낙석에너지의 범위를 결정하고 50kJ에서 1500kJ까지 총 9등급의 성능등급을 제시하였다. 성능평가는 유럽과 미국의 기준과 같이 사용성과 최대성능을 조사하기 위한 2종류의 실물 자유낙하 충격시험으로 이루어진다. 낙석방지울타리의 시험체는 3경간으로 구성되고 구형에 가까운 26면체 콘크리트 블록이 중앙 경간의 중앙에 충돌하는 것이 합리적인 것으로 판단되었다. 시험의 평가기준은 낙석의 관통여부와 변형을 겪은 낙석방지울타리가 도로를 침범하거나 차량통행을 방해할 가능성이 있는지를 검토하도록 구성되었다.

CISG 제42조 (1)항의 매도인의 책임에 관한 소고 (A Study on the Seller's Liability under Article 42(1) of the CISG)

  • The way for seller to procure the goods for selling is to produce the goods at his own factory and to buy the manufactured goods from the other company. In order to produce the goods for selling the seller have to obtain the resource from the domestic company or overseas. In the middle of producing the goods to sell, seller may breach the right of a third party based on intellectual property rights. That is to say, seller may use the machine that has not itself been patented and use a process which has been patented by a third party. Seller may manufacture the goods which themselves are subject to the third party industrial property rights. Nowadays it is stressed the importance of intellectual property rights such as a patent, brand, and design. These factors consist of the core elements of the competitiveness of the goods. Many embedded software have been used in the various sector. So the disputes regarding to the intellectual property rights is gradually increasing in number. Article 42 of CISG defines the seller's delivery obligations and liabilities in respect to third party intellectual property rights and claims. It contains a special rule for this similar kind of defective in title, which tries to provide an proper solution to the complex problems caused by such rights and claims in international transactions. When seller will apply this clause to the business fields, there are several points to which seller should give attention. First, Intellectual property is general terms in intangible property rights, encompassing both copyright and industrial property. Which matter fall within the scope of intellectual property? The scope of intellectual property can be inferred from the relevant international conventions, which are based on broad international consensus. Second, Article 42 of CISG governs the relationship between the seller and the buyer, that is to say, questions of who has to bear the risk of third party intellectual property rights. The existence of such intellectual property rights, the remedies available and the question of acquiring goods free of an encumbrances in good faith are outside the scope of the CISG. The governing law regarding to the abovementioned matters is needed.

활로 4징증의 근치수술후의 원격 방실전도 차단 (Complete A-V Block 3 Months after Total Correction of Tetralogy of Fallot)

  • There appears some conduction defects frequently after total correction of Tetralogy of Fallot. Common defect is right bundle branch block due to surgical intervention. We experienced complete A-V block which occured 3 months later after total correction of Tetralogy of Fallot in a 8 year old boy. The patient was completely free of any A-V block after the operation for 3 months, and sudden onset of A-V block with coupled premature ventricular contractions resulted him in shock state during the attack of severe bronchopneumonia for 4 days prior to the second visit. Emergency implantation of Cordis demand type temporary pacemaker was necessary to control the complete heart block with bradyarrhythmia and frequent ventricular fibrillation. Permanent cardiac pacemaker was implanted two weeks later as indicated with Cordis Stanicor lambda demand pacemaker, and the patient was discharged uneventfully on the 8th post implantation day with the heart rate of 72/min. Another 3 months after the implantation, the patient was transported to this hospital as dead on arrival after an accidental fall from a 2 meter height, and all possible cardiopulmonary resuscitation was performed for 60 minutes at the emergency room in vain. Autopsy was done to find out the cause of sudden death and the etiology of complete heart block. Microscopic focal infarctions with scar formation were noted along the course of conduction system in the interventricular septum, which might be the main cause of complete heart block during the attack of severe bronchopneumonia complicated with acute bacterial endocarditis. The tip of the pacemaker wire was slipped from the granulation scar at the apex of the right ventricular cavity, and this might be the direct cause of pacing failure and death.

생체모방공학을 이용한 bovine carbonic anhydrase를 SBA-15에 고정화하여 이산화탄소분리와 재구성된 $CaCO_3$ 연구 (Biomimetic sequestration of $CO_2$ and reformation to $CaCO_3$ using bovine carbonic anhydrase immobilized on SBA-15)

  • The biocatalytic capture of $CO_2$, and its precipitationas $CaCO_3$, over bovine carbonic anhydrase (BCA) immobilized on a pore-expanded SBA-15 support was investigated. SBA-15 was synthesized using TMB as a pore expander, and the resulting porous silica was characterized by XRD, BET, IR, and FE-SEM analysis. BCA was immobilized on SBA-15 through various approaches, including covalent attachment (BCA-CA), adsorption (BCA-ADS), and cross-linked enzyme aggregation (BCA-CLEA). The immobilization of BCA on SBA-15 was confirmed by the presence of zinc metal in the EDXS analysis. The effects of pH, temperature, storage stability, and reusability on the biocatalytic performance of BCA were characterized by examining para-nitrophenyl acetate (p-NPA) hydrolysis. The $K_{cat}/K_m$ values for p-NPA hydrolysis were 740.05, 660.62, and $680.11M^{-1}s^{-1}$, respectively, where as $K_{cat}/K_m$ for free BCA was $873.76M^{-1}s^{-1}$. The amount of $CaCO_3$ precipitate was measured quantitatively using anion-selective electrode and was found to be 12.41, 11.82, or 11.28 mg $CaCO_3$/mg for BCA-CLEA, BCA-ADS, or BCA-CA, respectively. The present results indicate that the immobilized BCA-CLEA, BCA-ADS, and BCA-CA are green materials, and are tunable, reusable, and promising biocatalysts for $CO_2$ sequestration.

Cardiovascular Disease-related Health Beliefs and Lifestyle Issues Among Karen Refugees Resettled in the United States From the Thai-Myanmar (Burma) Border

  • Objectives: Refugees resettled in the US may be at risk for cardiovascular disease (CVD). However, little is known about CVD-related issues among Karen refugees who have migrated to the US from the Thai-Myanmar border. The purpose of this study was to examine CVD-related health beliefs and lifestyle issues among Karen refugees resettled in the US. Methods: Karen refugees resettled in the US from the Thai-Myanmar border (n=195) participated in a survey study on health beliefs related to CVD, salt intake, physical activity (PA), and smoking in the fall of 2016. Results: A high-salt diet, physical inactivity, and smoking were major lifestyle problems. Participants who adhered to a low-salt diet considered themselves to be susceptible to CVD. Most participants did not engage in regular PA. Regular PA was associated with less perceived susceptibility to CVD and greater perceived benefits of a healthy lifestyle for decreasing the likelihood of CVD. Conclusions: Each refugee population may require individualized strategies to promote PA and a healthy diet. Future studies should develop health education programs that are specifically designed for Karen refugees and evaluate such programs. In addition to health education programs on healthy lifestyle choices, tobacco cessation programs seem to be necessary for Karen refugees. At the same time, it is important to foster strategies to increase the utilization of preventive care among this population by promoting free or reduced-fee resources in the community to further promote their health.

염산의 협잡물이 잠종의 인공부화에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Adulterants in HCl on Artificial Hatching in the Silkworm Eggs)

  • 염산 제조과정에서 생성될 가능성이 있는 협잡물이나 침산과정에서 혼합될 수 있는 혼합물이 침산방법에 의한 가잠의 인공부화에 어떠한 영향을 미치는 가를 조사한 결과 철, 수은, 연, 비색 등은 부화에 별다른 영향이 없었으나 아황산(SO$_3$)과 유리염소(Cl)는 대단히 유해한 것으로 밝혀졌다. 따라서 침산시 염산을 5$0^{\circ}C$로 가열하여 각종 유해 개스를 제거할 후 사용하는 것이 좋으며 보다 안전한 인공부과를 기하기 위해서는 여러가지 염산표준액을 만들어 예비침산을 행한 후 본침산을 하는 것이 바람직하다.

강원도 지방경찰청 조경설계 (Landscape Design of KangWon Provincial Police Agency)

  • This landscape design proposal was presented to a design competition for the KangWon Province Police Agency(KPA). The site, about 27,711 $m^2$, is located at 293-4 Udu-dong, Chunchun, KangWon-Do. Design objectives of the KPA were to build a symbolic place which fall community members with pride, to elevate an identity and status of the KPA by creating a landscape correspondent to the concept of the building design, to provide community residents with a space to enjoy cultural and social activities, and to make environment friendly space. The main concept was developed by one of characteristics of the traditional spatial structure of Korea known as an, 'Open and Closed spatial structure.'By re-interpreting the traditional spatial structure and applying it to the site, the design met the various desires of the KPA. The site is primarily segmented into 6 sub spaces; entrance space Podori plaza, symbolic court, police billeting area, sports area, and rear rest area. The entrance space, Podori plaza, and symbolic court on the south-west part of the site represent the publicity of the site as the concept of ″open space.″ On the contrary, considering the specialty of police affairs, the north-east part of the site, which contains the police billeting area and rest area, were designed to maintain security by using the concept of ″closed space.″ To express an identity of the KPA, 'Podori', a police mascot, the plaza was designed and is suppose to function as the hub of the community. In the front section of the plaza, a symmetrical planting pattern, centering the strong axis, was introduced to strengthen its symbolic meaning. Traditional window frames such as the pattern of 'Pisal-jige'and 'Umulsal-jige' were used for the paving system which is applied as the environment friendly design. Site facilities and furnitrue were placed at every important spot in order to connect various spaces organically. As these well-tied spaces properly shared their function, spatial sequence and management would be promoted. The entire space was designed to allow free access of handicapped people. This proposal is meant to create a new image of KangWon province and to enhance the way of inhabitants' think about their community.

안전한 노인요양시설 환경을 위한 실내 바닥마감재에 관한 연구 (A Study on Interior Flooring Materials for Safe Elderly Nursing Home Environment)

  • The number of elderly who wants to access to Nursing Homes (NH) will increase due to the rapid aging society and domestic changes. Those who move into NH expect 24/7 care service in safe environment. Providing space free from danger, especially from fall, for the frail elderly is essential. The purpose of this study is to categorize performance needs of flooring materials in the aspect of safety, and analyze materials so that adequate ones for each space in NH can be suggested. Performance needs are as follows; slip resistance (dry/wet), fire resistance, resilience, water resistance, soil retardant, anti-bacterial, gloss, sound absorbtion. maintenance, durability, ease replacement, color and pattern variety, visual and tactual texture, tactile warmth, IAQ, sustainable material (before use), impact to nature (after use). They are categorized under function, economy, sensibility and sustainability. It was found that there are better materials than common ones that has been used repeatedly in NHs, such as vinyl sheets and VCT. In overall, Cork flooring and nylon carpet met all four categories, followed by wool carpet, rubber and linoleum. For bedroom, wood flooring, Cork, rubber, wool carpet, nylon carpets were suggested. In bathroom with shower, rubber, vinyl sheet and porcelain tiles were safe materials. As living/dining room and corridor floors, wool carpet, nylon carpet, cork flooring would be excellent as they are resilient and durable. The result of this paper can be used by both NH managers and material companies, resulting better quality of life of the elderly by providing safe environment.

지구 중력장 내에서 성립하는 운동 상태 방정식의 해를 구하기 위한 벡터의 스칼라 프로덕트 응용 (Application of Vector Scalar Product to Solve the Kinematic Equations in the Earth's Gravitational Field)

  • 지구 중력장 내에 위치한 물체는 연직 아래 방향의 힘을 받고 있다. 중력장 내에서 물체의 운동을 기술하기 위하여 운동상태 방정식을 이용한다. 자유 낙하하는 물체를 해석할 때 기준 방향은 연직 하방을 +y으로, 연직위로 던져 올린 물체를 해석할 때 기준방향은 연직상방을 +y으로, 연직 아래로 던져 내린 물체를 해석할 때, 기준 방향은 연직 하방을 +y으로 선택하여 해석함이 일반적이다. 이 논문에서는 두 벡터의 스칼라 곱 (즉, 도트 곱)을 이용하여 연직 상방 또는 하방 두 경우를 방향으로 선택하여 구성한 벡터 운동 상태 방정식(vector kinematics equations)을 해석의 결과가 서로 일치함을 제시한다. 두 벡터의 스칼라 곱 (즉, 도트 곱)을 이용하여 물체의 상태 방정식를 해석한 예는 선행 연구에서 거의 찾아볼 수가 없다. 이 결과를 이용하면, 수평면의 방향 또는 빗각을 이루는 방향의 초속도로 던져 올리거나 던져 내린 물체의 운동 상태를 해석하기 위하여 연직 기준 방향을 상방 또는 하방으로 임의 선택할 수가 있다.
