This review is presented under the following headings: 1.Introduction 1.1 Brief review of the properties of AlN 1.2 Historical survey of work on ceramic and single crystal AlN 2.Thermochemical background 3.Crystal growth 4.Doping 5.Potential applications and future work The known properties of AlN which make it of interest for various are discussed briefly. The properties include chemical stability, crystal structure and lattice constants, refractive indices and other optical properties, dielectric constant, surface acoustic wave velocity and thermal conductivity. The history of work in single crystals, thin films and ceramics are outlined and the thermochemistry of AlN reviewed together with some of the relevant properties of aluminium and nitrogen; the problems encountered in growing crystals of AlN are shown to arise directly from these thermochemical relationships. Methods have been reported in the literature for growing AlN crystals from melts, solution and vapour and these methods are compared critically. It is proposed that the only practicable approach to the growth of AlN is by vapour phase methods. All vapour based procedures share the share the same problems: $.$the difficulty of preventing contamination by oxygen & carbon $.$the high bond energy of molecular nitrogen $.$the refractory nature of AlN (melting point~3073K at 100ats.) $.$the high reactivity of Al at high temperatures It is shown that the growth of epitactic layers and polycrystalline layers present additional problems: $.$chemical incompatibility of substrates $.$crystallographic mismatch of substrates $.$thermal mismatch of substrates The result of all these problems is that there is no good substrate material for the growth of AlN layers. Organometallic precursors which contain an Al-N bond have been used recently to deposit AlN layers but organometallic precursors gave the disadvantage of giving significant carbon contamination. Organometallic precursors which contain an Al-N bound have been used recently to deposit AlN layers but organometallic precursors have the disadvantage of giving significant carbon contamination. It is conclude that progress in the application of AlN to optical and electronic devices will be made only if considerable effort is devoted to the growth of larges, pure (and particularly, oxygen-free) crystals. Progress in applications of epi-layers and ceramic AlN would almost certainly be assisted also by the availability of more reliable data on the pure material. The essential features of any stategy for the growth of AlN from the vapour are outlined and discussed.

Objective: This study aimed to determine and compare the apparent ileal digestibility (AID) and the standardized ileal digestibility (SID) of amino acids (AA) in soybean meal (SBM), cottonseed meal (CSM), and low-gossypol cottonseed meal (LCSM) fed to broiler chickens and laying hens. Methods: Three semi-purified diets containing the identical crude protein concentration at 20% were formulated to contain SBM, CSM, or LCSM as the sole source of N. A N-free diet was also formulated to estimate the basal ileal endogenous losses of AA for broilers and hens. A total of 300 male Ross 308 chicks at one-day-old and 144 Hy-Line Brown laying hens at 30-week-old with initial egg production rate of 88.3%±1.0% were randomly allocated into 1 of 4 dietary treatments, respectively. Results: CSM and LCSM showed more Arg and Cys+Met while less Lys, Ile, Leu, and Thr relative to SBM. Significant interactions existed between species and experimental diets for AID (except for Arg, Asp, Glu, Gly, and Pro) and SID (except for Arg, His, and Phe) of most AA. Most AA in diets showed higher AID (except for Lys) and SID (except for Lys, Met, and Ser) in broilers relative to laying hens. The AID and SID of all AA were significantly different between the three diets. In broilers, the AID and SID of most indispensable AA except for Arg in SBM and LCSM was higher than CSM. In laying hens, the AID and SID of most indispensable AA except for Arg, Met+Cys, and Phe in SBM was higher than CSM and LCSM. Conclusion: The accurate determination of AID and SID of AA in CSM and LCSM for broilers and layers benefits the application of CSM and LCSM in chicken diets. The cottonseed by-products CSM or LCSM showed the species-specific AA digestibility values for broilers and layers.
In this study, the seepage flow monitoring method by the hydraulic head loss rate was developed for the purpose of application to offshore construction site enclosed by cofferdams in which seepage force varies periodically. The amount of the hydraulic head loss rate newly defined in this graph was in a range between 0 and 1. The zero of the rate means the existence of flow with no seepage resistance. The 1 of the rate means no seepage flow through the ground. The closer to 1 the coefficient of determinant in the hydraulic head loss graph is, the more the ground through which seepage water flows is stable. The closer to 0 the coefficient of determinant in the hydraulic head loss graph is, the more the ground through which seepage water flows was unstable and the higher the possibilities of existence of empty space or of occurrence of piping on the seepage flow pass in the ground is. The hydraulic head loss graph makes it possible to monitor sensitively the situation of seepage flow state, and the graph helps to understand easily the seepage flow state at the specific section on the whole cofferdam.
It becomes a common feature of business practices in International Trade to use a standard terms for the formation of their contracts. However, because of differences in legal systems, business practices and so on in their own countries, there have been many conflicts and disputes happening between parties concerned in International Trade. The CISG, which has long been used as the governing law in many cases of International Trade, could not be free from those conflicting issues in its usage and application. This study analyzes the "Black Letter Rules" which was adopted by CISG Advisory Council in 2013 to provide an effective way of resolving the conflicting issues regarding the inclusion of standard terms in International Trade Contracts under the CISG. This study scrutinizes, the relevant rules and requirements for the inclusion of standard terms into a contract. It also deals with the offeror's duty of making clear reference to the standard terms, transmitting the contents of standard terms to the other party. As the other rules for the inclusion of standard terms, this study reviews the principle of denying the inclusion of standard terms after the formation of contracts, exclusion of surprising or unusual terms, preference of individually negotiated terms to the standard terms, contra preferentum rule and preference of the "knock-out rule" to "last-shot rule" in resolving the issue of so called, "Battle of Forms." Lastly, on the basis of analyzed opinion, this study suggests the practical implications for the people working at International Trade-related business sector to facilitate International Trade.
Project evaluation is the process of evaluating the progress and results of a project. Smart city projects can be divided into system components (infrastructure, services, platforms), or projects can run simultaneously for multiple services. In addition, services are developed and expanded through additional projects. In order to ensure that the smart city, which is composed of various projects, proceeds in accordance with the goals and strategies, periodic project evaluation is required during the project implementation process. The smart city project evaluation system proposed in this paper is designed to provide comprehensive and objective indicators by reflecting various factors that must be considered for projects occurring in all stages of planning, design, construction, and operation of smart cities. The indicators derived from the evaluation system can be used by decision makers to determine the direction of smart city project development. In addition, it is designed so that the performance of the project can be evaluated interim before the end of the project and the feedback obtained from it can be reflected. To introduce the application method of the smart city project evaluation system proposed in this study, the evaluation system developed in this study was applied to the smart city project case of Incheon Free Economic Zone (IFEZ). Based on the evaluation results, items that can maximize the improvement effect of each smart city project item were presented, and the direction of smart city project implementation was suggested. By utilizing a smart city project evaluation system that reflects the characteristics of smart city projects that are composed of multiple projects, comprehensive planning and management of smart city projects will be possible, and this study will serve as a reference for identifying priority improvement factors for projects.

Efforts are currently underway to develop a method for efficiently recovering lithium from the cathode material of waste lithium iron phosphate batteries (LFP). The successful application of lithium battery recycling can address the regional ubiquity and price volatility of lithium resources, while also mitigating the environmental impact associated with both waste battery material and lithium production processes. The isomorphic substitution leaching process was used to recover lithium from spent lithium iron phosphate batteries. Lithium was leached by the isomorphic substitution of Fe2+ in LFP using a relatively inexpensive ferric chloride etching solution as a leaching agent. In the study, the leaching rate of lithium was compared using the ferric chloride etching solution at various multiples of the LFP molar ratio: 0.7, 1.0, 1.3, and 1.6 times. The highest lithium leaching rate was shown at about 98% when using 1.3 times the LFP molar ratio. Subsequently, to eliminate Fe, the leachate was treated with NaOH. The Fe-free solution was then used to synthesize lithium carbonate, and the harvested powder was characterized and validated. The surface shape and crystal phase were analyzed using SEM and XRD analysis, and impurities and purity were confirmed using ICP analysis.

This paper presents the closing analysis of a symmetric steel cable-stayed bridge erected by a free cantilever method. Two independent structural systems are formed before the closing procedure of a bridge is performed, and thus the compatibility conditions for vertical displacement and rotational angle are not satisfied at the closing section without the application of proper sectional forces. Since, however, it is usually impossible to apply sectional forces at the closing section, the compatibility conditions should be satisfied by proper external forces that can be actually applicable to a bridge. Unstrained lengths of selected cables and the pull-up force of a derrick crane are adjusted to satisfy nonlinear compatibility conditions, which are solved iteratively by the Newton-Raphson method. Cable members are modeled by the elastic catenary cable elements, and towers and main girders are discretized by linear 3-D frame elements. The sensitivities of displacement with respect to the unstrained lengths of selected cables and the pull-up force of the derrick crane are evaluated by the direct differentiation of the equilibrium equation. A Monte-Carlo simulation approach is proposed to estimate expected construction errors for a given confidence level. The proposed method is applied to the second Jindo Grand Bridge to demonstrate its validity and effectiveness.

This study aimed to analyze the leading research materials and research trends related to livestock food in Asia in recent years and propose future research agendas to ultimately contribute to the development of related livestock species. On analyzing more than 200 relevant articles, a high frequency of studies on livestock species and products with large breeding scales and vast markets was observed. Asia possesses the largest pig population and most extensive pork market, followed by that of beef, chicken, and milk; moreover, blood and egg markets have also been studied. Regarding research keywords, "meat quality" and "probiotics" were the most common, followed by "antioxidants", which have been extensively studied in the past, and "cultured meat", which has recently gained traction. The future research agenda for meat products is expected to be dominated by alternative livestock products, such as cultured and plant-derived meats; improved meat product functionality and safety; the environmental impacts of livestock farming; and animal welfare research. The future research agenda for dairy products is anticipated to include animal welfare, dairy production, probiotic-based development of high-quality functional dairy products, the development of alternative dairy products, and the advancement of lactose-free or personalized dairy products. However, determining the extent to which the various research articles' findings have been applied in real-world industry proved challenging, and research related to animal food laws and policies and consumer surveys was lacking. In addition, studies on alternatives for sustainable livestock development could not be identified. Therefore, future research may augment industrial application, and multidisciplinary research related to animal food laws and policies as well as eco-friendly livestock production should be strengthened.

Since the short-wave infrared spectrum has a significant range of variation depending on the production environment, countries with advanced resource exploration are collecting the spectrum and building a database. Representative organizations include the USGS and CSIRO, and they are currently carrying out a project in China that can synthesize and use a large number of existing data. The USGS library provides a total of 2,457 spectra targeting not only minerals but also various materials that respond to infrared radiation. Among these, there are 1,276 mineral spectra, which are about half of the total. The spectrum title includes information, such as analysis devices (NIC4, BECK, ASDNG, etc.), purity codes (a, b, c, d, u), and measurement methods (AREF, RREF, RTGC, TRAN). Analyzed raw data are provided in ASCII and GIF format. The CSIRO library has a total of 502 spectra, of which the majority, 493, correspond to mineral spectra. The USGS library is a free, publically available resource, while the CSIRO library is bundled with TSG8 or must be purchased separately. Among these, when comparing the eight spectra whose spectral shapes can be analyzed with the spectra of domestic illite, the positions of the absorption peaks are significantly different from those of domestic illite, except for one Japanese illite. Additional research will be needed to determine the causes of such differences, and the domestically relevant databases should be established as well.

The primary purpose of this study is to investigate the college students' implicit theory of Korean creativity. This study deals with the degree to which the students exploit the creativity, and the obstacles for them to exploit the creativity. Another purpose of this study is to explore their implicit knowledge of Korean creative environments. The results are as follows. The implicit knowledge of Korean creativity could be characterized by the following key words: 'flexibility', 'application', 'transformation', 'originality', 'perseverance', 'not being stereotyped', 'esthetic flavor' and 'understanding-new-by-exploring-old'. Students thought themselves to be more or less creative. Students in art and physical education, and male students estimated themselves more creative than other discipline and female. They thought that socio-institutional factors such as educational system focused on the college entrance test are the most serious obstacles against creativity. About half of the students thought the creative persons would have been raised in poor family whereas other students thought differently. The home environment of the creative person was thought to be characterized by the words such as democratic, free and encouraging. Creative persons were thought to be maladaptive school life, but good at peer relations. This study will be used as a pioneer research which suggest a model of Korean creativity.
