Relationship between Work-Life Balance, Religiosity and Employee Engagement: A Proposed Moderated Mediation Model

  • Human resource is considered as an important resource that enables organizations to achieve competitive advantage. As such, it is important to have engaged employees to drive the strategic objectives of the organization. The study focuses on variables that can promote employee engagement. Work-life balance and employee engagement have received attention in both academia and practice. Engaged employees are crucial in the achievement of the strategic objectives of organizations. Besides, the role of religious orientation in life and work has been gaining attention from management scholars. The paper attempts to fill the research gap by developing a conceptual model and propositions for empirical testing. Specifically, the study proposes that work-life balance is expected to act as a mediator in the relationship between religiosity and employee engagement. Furthermore, religiosity is included as a moderator since religious belief can strengthen the positive relationship between work-life balance and employee engagement. A systematic literature review was carried out. A framework and propositions for future studies have been developed. The proposed framework provides direction for scholars to empirically test the indirect relationship between work-life balance, religiosity and employee engagement. Empirical testing of the framework could provide insights into how work-life balance and religiosity promote employee engagement.

The Extended S-O-R Model Investigating Consumer Impulse Buying Behavior in Online Shopping: A Meta-Analysis

  • Purpose: The online distribution channel has attracted the attention of retailers by potential impact on consumers' purchase intention. The objectives of this study are to provide an insight into how to encourage consumers' impulse buying behavior on commercial website as well as attempts to reveal factors that influence consumers' impulsive buying behavior in the online shopping environment. Research design, data and methodology: The research framework is based on the stimulus-organism-response (S-O-R) framework. The Meta-analysis method carried out the research, gathering data from 37 published studies. Results: The research findings suggest that intrinsic motivations such as perceived ease of use, perceived enjoyment, and online flow experience play a significant role in boosting consumers' hedonic value when buying and online. In addition, these findings help online retailers use appropriate marketing stimuli such as offering pricing incentives, promotion tactics, and improved communication effectiveness. Also, obtaining a better grasp of how to build a website to improve the consumer experience generally helps consumers feel the urge to buy impulsively and act without hesitation. Conclusions: This research confirms a direct positive relationship between marketing stimuli and hedonic shopping value, which may support an applied theoretical framework for future research and provide managerial implications for retailers in online distribution channels.

BandBlock: Bandwidth allocation in blockchain-empowered UAV-based heterogeneous networks

  • The 5G mobile network is promising to handle the dynamic traffic demands of user equipment (UE). Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) equipped with wireless transceivers can act as flying base stations in heterogeneous networks to ensure the quality of service of UE. However, it is challenging to efficiently allocate limited bandwidth to UE due to dynamic traffic demands and low network coverage. In this study, a blockchain-enabled bandwidth allocation framework is proposed for secure bandwidth trading. Furthermore, the proposed framework is based on the Cournot oligopoly game theoretical model to provide the optimal solution; that is, bandwidth is allocated to different UE based on the available bandwidth at UAV-assisted-based stations (UBSs) with optimal profit. The Cournot oligopoly game is performed between UBSs and cellular base stations (CBSs). Utility functions for both UBSs and CBSs are introduced on the basis of the available bandwidth, total demand of CSBs, and cost of providing cellular services. The proposed framework prevents security attacks and maximizes the utility functions of UBSs and CBSs.

Assessing the Human Perceptions of Physical Environmental Stressors Through Behavior Response Examination

  • Environmental stressors considerably influence the health and safety of humans and must thus be continuously monitored to enhance the urban environments and associated safety. Environmental stressors typically act as stimuli and lead to behavioral changes that can be easily identified. These behavioral responses can thus be used as indicators to clarify people's perceptions of environmental stressors. Therefore, in this study, a framework for assessing environmental stressors based on human behavioral responses was developed. A preliminary experiment was conducted to investigate the feasibility of the framework. Human behavioral and physiological data were collected using wearable sensors, and a survey was performed to determine the psychological responses. Humans were noted to consistently exhibit changes in the movement and speed in the presence of physical environmental stressors, as physiological and psychological responses. The results demonstrated the potential of using behavioral responses as indicators of the human perceptions toward environmental stressors. The proposed framework can be used for urban environment monitoring to enhance the quality and safety.

  • 본 논문은 2023년 개정된 개인정보보호법 및 관련 법적 가이드 등을 분석하고, 개인정보 업무 위수탁 관계에서 필요한 항목을 통해 위수탁 계약에 대한 프레임워크를 제안하고, 국내에 부재한 수탁사 개인정보보호 현황 점검의 필수적으로 포함되어야 하는 공통항목을 제안함으로서, 개인정보 업무를 처리하는 수탁사의 기본적인 개인정보보호 역량의 강화와 필수적으로 수행하는 개인정보보호 점검에 대한 부담감을 완화하고 개인정보 유출 사고 발생 예방에 기여하고자 한다.

  • Fueled by international efforts towards AI standardization, including those by the European Commission, the United States, and international organizations, this study introduces a AI-driven framework for analyzing advancements in drone technology. Utilizing project data retrieved from the NTIS DB via the "drone" keyword, the framework employs a diverse toolkit of supervised learning methods (Keras MLP, XGboost, LightGBM, and CatBoost) enhanced by BERTopic (natural language analysis tool). This multifaceted approach ensures both comprehensive data quality evaluation and in-depth structural analysis of documents. Furthermore, a 6T-based classification method refines non-applicable data for year-on-year AI analysis, demonstrably improving accuracy as measured by accuracy metric. Utilizing AI's power, including GPT-4, this research unveils year-on-year trends in emerging keywords and employs them to generate detailed summaries, enabling efficient processing of large text datasets and offering an AI analysis system applicable to policy domains. Notably, this study not only advances methodologies aligned with AI Act standards but also lays the groundwork for responsible AI implementation through analysis of government research and development investments.

Realistic estimation framework of radioactive release distributions into the environment during nuclear power plant accidents

  • Since the level 2 PSA of OPR-1000 was the requirement for regulatory purposes, Cs-137 release estimation was contained as the Nuclear Safety Act of ROK in which the Cs-137 release frequency exceeding 100 TBq was determined to happen less than 1.0E-6 per year after the Fukushima Daiichi Accident. However, Cs-137 release estimation from the conventional level 2 PSA of OPR-1000 provided uncertainty due to dominant accident sequence consideration. Thus, this study aimed to develop systematic methods through the overall framework to quantify realistic uncertainty concerns of radioactive material release using sensitivity and uncertainty analysis methods and apply them to OPR-1000. This framework helped to quantify confidential value for the Cs-137 release under the BEPU approach using both parametric and non-parametric methods to cover both realistic and conservative points. Uncertainty propagation analysis showed the unexpected uncertainty increase of Cs-137 release exceeding 100 TBq. The non-parametric uncertainty analysis provided higher conservative concerns for safety than the realistic concerns in terms of economics when compared with the parametric uncertainty analysis. Wilks' uncertainty analysis showed the importance to consider conservative Cs-137 release in order to reach the higher safety need. Sensitivity analysis showed reasonable relationships between engineering safety parameters with the Cs-137 release.

<참여정부>의 가족정책 성격: 3개 법을 중심으로 (Some Characteristics of Family Policy in Korea During Roh, Moo Hyun Government, 2003-2008)

  • 이 글은 노무현 정부 5년(2003.3-2008.2)(이하 <참여정부>)동안 이루어졌던 가족정책의 내용을 해당 가족관련법을 중심으로 살펴보고 그 성격을 진단해 보는데 목적이 있다. '여성이 행복한 나라'를 만들기위하여 <참여정부>는 과거 어느 정권보다 가족정책에 적극적인 관심을 보였고 급변하는 가족현실에 대한 대응책을 강구한 정권이기도 하였다. 논의의 편의상, <참여정부> 때에 입안.제정되었던 3개 가족정책법 -"호주제" 폐지 및 "가족관계등록부" 도입(2008.1), "건강가정기본법" 실시(2005.1), 그리고 "다문화가족지원법" 실시 (2008.9)- 을 중심으로 이들 법의 내용 소개 및 평가를 가하였다. 이러한 작업에 기반하여 <참여정부> 기의 가족정책의 가능성과 한계를 지적하였다. 나름대로의 시행착오나 보완사항이 지적되고는 있으나, 우리사회에 양성평등적 개인주의 삶의 양식이 제도적으로 보장되는데 기여한 "가족관계등록부"의 도입이 이루어졌다. 또한, 저출산 고령화 추세 및 가족불안정성에의 대응책으로서 최초의 가족단위 기본법인 "건강가정기본법"의 설정이 있었다. 그리고 다문화 다중정체성이 필요하게 된 시대적 분위기의 반영책으로서 결혼이민자의 법적 지위를 인정한 "다문화가족지원법"의 실시가 그것이다. 이렇듯 과거 어느 정권 보다 전향적이고 적극적인 양성평등지향의, 최초의 가족단위 기본법 제정, 그리고 미래 다문화사회를 위한 가족법의 입안과 집행을 시도했다고 평가할 수 있을 것이다.

해안가 복합재해 관리를 위한 법률 현황 및 개선방향 (A Study on the Improvement of Legislation on Management of Compound Coastal Disasters)

  • 해안가 복합재해는 기후변화로 인한 해수면상승과 집중호우, 태풍, 해일 등으로 인한 내·외수침수와 범람이 복합적으로 발생하는 것으로 최근 발생빈도와 피해규모가 커지고 있다. 본 연구에서는 해안가 복합재해를 관리하는 법과 제도 현황을 검토하고 이를 관리하고 예방하는 개선방향을 도출하고자 한다. 이를 위해 현행 우리나라 법률 중에서 해안가 자연재해 관리를 위해 지정하는 지구·구역 제도를 중심으로 재난 및 안전관리기본법, 자연재해대책법, 국토계획법, 연안관리법, 하천법, 하수도법 등을 검토하였다. 이를 통해 법률의 목적과 성격, 공간적 범위, 관리수단 등을 비교한 결과 자연재해대책법을 토대로 해안가 복합재해를 통합적으로 관리하는 것이 바람직하다고 판단하였다. 현재 제도의 한계점을 극복하고 구체적인 법률 및 제도 개선방안을 도출하기 위해서 자연재해 관련 전문가들을 대상으로 세부 요소에 대한 설문조사를 실시하였다. 그 결과 해안가 복합재해관리를 위해 현제도를 개선하거나 새로운 제도 도입이 필요하며, 행정안전부, 환경부, 국토교통부, 해양수산부 등 부처 통합적인 의사결정 거버넌스 설치 운영을 통해 육상과 해역을 통합적으로 관리할 필요가 있는 것으로 나타났다.

EPC Network 기반의 비즈니스 서비스 지원을 위한 프레임워크 (Framework for Supporting Business Services based on the EPC Network)

  • 유비쿼터스 컴퓨팅 환경을 실현하기 위한 핵심 기술로 자동화된 개체 식별, 분산 컴퓨팅 기술 등의 연구가 다양한 분야에서 이루어 지고 있다. 라디오 주파수를 이용해서 개체를 식별하는 RFID 기술은 EPCglobal에서 표준을 제시하고 있고 EPC Network를 기반으로 구축된 인프라를 바탕으로 응용 시스템을 개발하고자 하는 경우, RFID 미들웨어로부터 대규모의 EPC정보를 처리해야 하고, EPC를 기반으로 EPC와 관련된 고유 정보와 이력 정보를 수집해야 한다. 또한 정보획득 및 가공에 관한 인과관계 처리가 분명히 이루어져야 하고, 비즈니스 룰에 따른 이벤트의 발생 조건에 관한 처리를 고려하여야 한다. 본 논문에서는 EPC Network 기반에서 응용 시스템 개발을 지원하기 위해 비즈니스 서비스를 제공하는 미들웨어 플랫폼을 제시하고 이에 관한 효용성을 검증한다. 비즈니스 서비스란 추가적인 정보 획득이나 가공 과정 없이 응용 시스템에서 바로 이용이 가능한 이벤트를 전달하는 서비스를 의미한다. 미들웨어 플랫폼에서는 정보 획득, 정보 가공 과정을 지원하며, 또한 비즈니스 룰 처리를 지원한다. 미들웨어 플랫폼은 비즈니스 서비스를 기반으로 응용 시스템의 빠른 개발을 가능하게 하고, 유지보수를 용이하게 한다.
