1.5Tesla and 3.0Tesla에서 관류 MR의 소리 스펙트럼 분석 (Comparison with 1.5Tesla and 3.0Tesla of Acoustic Noise Spectrum of DWI MR Pulse Sequence)

  • 1.5Tesla와 3.0Tesla의 MRI 검사의 DWI (diffusion-weighted imaging) 펄스시퀀스에서 노이즈 스펙트럼을 분석하여 MRI검사의 기초자료를 제공하여 임상에서 적용하는데 목적이 있다. MRI 검사에서 ACR (American College of Radiology) 팬텀과 노이즈 스펙트럼은 Wavepad sound editor version 8.13 (NCH software, Green wood Village, CO, USA)로 FFT (fast Fourier transform), TFFT (time based fast Fourier transform)를 분석하였다. MR 1.5Tesla와 3.0Tesla의 DWI 펄스 시퀀스에서 검사실에 따른 노이즈 스펙트럼 및 FFT와 TFFT를 분석하였다. 1.5Tesla에 비해 3.0Tesla에서 FFT 및 TFFT에서 주파수 진폭의 노이즈 임계값은 1.5Tesla에서 -6 dB 사이였고, 3.0Tesla에서는 0 dB 사이로 분석되어 환자의 소음감소를 위한 DWI 펄스시퀀스를 환자에게 적절하게 임상에서 적용할 필요가 있다.

시뮬레이션을 이용한 마이크로웨이브 도플러 레이더 해면관측법의 평가 (Simulation and Evaluation of Sea Surface Observations Using a Microwave Doppler Radar)

  • 해면으로부터의 마이크로웨이브 후방산란 시뮬레이션을 이용하여 마이크로웨이브 도플러 레이더에 의한 파고와 해면 흐름 관측법을 평가하였다. 해면으로부터 후방산란하는 마이크로웨이브의 도플러 스펙트럼은 마이크로웨이브 해면 조사폭과 스펙트럼 해석 시간폭의 영향을 받는다. 본 연구에서는 마이크로웨이브 해면 조사폭과 스펙트럼 해석 시간폭의 영향을 조사하기 위하여, 다양한 파랑과 해면 흐름 조건의 수치 해면 생성과 마이크로웨이브 후방산란 시뮬레이션을 통하여 도플러 스펙트럼을 구하였다. 결과에 의하면 마이크로웨이브 해면 조사폭을 파장의 1/5이하, 스펙트럼 해석 시간폭을 파주기의 1/5이하로 설정하면, 충분한 정도의 파고계측이 가능하다. 또한, 파주기에 비해서 충분히 긴 스펙트럼 해석 시간폭을 설정하면 해면 흐름의 상대유속 계측이 가능하다. 시뮬레이션을 이용하여 마이크로웨이브 도플러 레이더에 의한 해면관측의 적절한 계측방법을 찾을 수 있다.

스펙트럼을 이용한 피로손상도 계산과정 최적화 연구 (Study on Optimization of Fatigue Damage Calculation Process Using Spectrum)

  • Offshore structures are exposed to low- and high-frequency responses due to environmental loads, and fatigue damage models are used to calculate the fatigue damage from these. In this study, we tried to optimize the main parameters used in fatigue damage calculation to derive a new fatigue damage model. A total of 162 bi-modal spectra using the elliptic equation were defined to describe the response of offshore structures. To calculate the fatigue damage from the spectra, time series were generated from the spectra using the inverse Fourier transform, and the rain-flow counting method was applied. The considered optimization variables were the size of the frequency increments, ratio of the time increment, and number of repetitions of the time series. In order to obtain optimized values, the fatigue damage was calculated using the parameter values proposed in previous work, and the fatigue damage was calculated by increasing or decreasing the proposed values. The results were compared, and the error rate was checked. Based on the test results, new values were found for the size of the frequency increment and number of time series iterations. As a validation, the fatigue damage of an actual tension spectrum found using the new proposed values and fatigue damage found using the previously proposed method were compared. In conclusion, we propose a new optimized calculation process that is faster and more accurate than the existed method.

다방향 불규칙파에 대한 조파 기법 및 방향 스펙트럼 추정 연구 (Study on Wave Generation Technique and Estimation of Directional Wave Spectra for Multi-Directional Irregular Waves)

  • In this study, fundamental research is conducted for the generation technique and analysis of multi-directional irregular waves in the Deep Ocean Engineering Basin (DOEB). A three-dimensional boundary element method-based numerical tank is implemented to perform wave generation simulations, and directional spectrum estimation is carried out using the results of simulations. The wave generation technique of the Snake type wave maker, generating multi-directional irregular waves, is implemented using the Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) and Inverse Fast Fourier Transform (IFFT) algorithms. The wave generation technique is validated by comparing the wave spectrum from simulations and experiments. A Maximum Likelihood Method (MLM) based estimation code is developed for estimating the directional wave spectra. The multi-directional irregular waves are tested in the DOEB and the numerical tank, and directional wave spectra obtained from two methodologies are estimated and compared. A correction procedure for the directional distribution of multi-directional waves is established, and the possibility of correcting the directional spreading function using the numerical tank is validated.

Color Enhancement of Natural Sapphires by High Pressure High Temperature Process

  • We employed the high-pressure high temperature (HPHT) process to enhance the colors of natural sapphires to obtain a vivid blue. First, we analyze the content of the coloring agent $Fe_2O_3$ using the wavelength dispersive X-ray fluorescence (WD-XRF) method. The HPHT procedure operates under 1 GPa at various temperatures of 1700, 1750, and $1800^{\circ}C$ for 5 minutes using a cubic press. We determine the color changes using the optical microscopic images, UV-VIS near-infrared (NIR) spectra, micro-Raman spectra, and Fourier transform-infrared (FT-IR) spectra for all sapphire samples before and after the treatment. The optical microscopic results indicate that the HPHT process can enhance the sapphire color to a vivid blue at temperatures above $1750^{\circ}C$. The UV-VIS-NIR spectra identify the color changes explicitly and quantitatively through providing the Lab color scales and color differences. Both results demonstrate that the colors of natural sapphires can be enhanced to a vivid blue using the HPHT process above $1750^{\circ}C$ under 1 GPa for 5 minutes.

푸리에 변환을 이용한 3층 구조 박막의 두께 측정 (Determining the Thickness of a Trilayer Thin-Film Structure by Fourier-Transform Analysis)

  • 분광광도계로 측정된 반사율 데이터를 활용하여 다층박막 각 층의 두께를 푸리에 변환 방법으로 결정하였다. 이를 위하여 이론적인 3층 다층박막 반사율 데이터를 생성하고 자체 작성한 Matlab 프로그램으로 델타함수의 피크 발생위치로부터 각 층의 두께를 결정하였으며, 박막의 광학적 두께가 730 nm 이상이 되는 경우 결정된 두께 오차는 1.0% 이하임을 알 수 있었다. 이 방법을 사용하여 바 코팅 방법으로 제작된 PI-(얇은 $SiO_2$)-PI 다층박막의 두께를 결정하고 그 결과를 SEM 측정결과와 비교하였다. 본 두께측정 방법은 각 층의 굴절률과 박막의 순서를 미리 인지하고 있어야 하는 단점이 있으나, 비파괴적인 방법으로 빠르게 다층 박막의 두께 분포를 결정할 수 있는 방법임을 확인하였다.

Infrared Spectroscopic Study of Molecular Hydrogen Bonding in Chiral Smetic Liquid Crystal

  • We utilize Fourier transform infrared (IR) spectroscopy to probe intramolecular hydrogen bonding in $smectic-C^{\ast}$ liquid crystal phases. Infrared spectra of aligned smectic liquid crystal materials vs. temperature and of isotropic liquid crystal mixtures vs. concentration were measured in homologs, both with and without hydrogen bonding. Hydrogen bonding significantly changes the direction and magnitude of the vibrational dipole transition moments, causing marked changes in the IR dichroic absorbance profiles of hydrogen bonded molecular subfragments. A GAUSSIAN94 computation of the directions, magnitudes, and frequencies of the vibrational dipole moments of molecular subfragments shows good agreement with the experimental data. The results show that IR dichroism can be an effective probe of hydrogen bonding in liquid crystal phases.

Thermal denaturation analysis of protein

  • Near infrared (NIR) spectroscopy is a powerful technique for non-destructive analysis that can be obtained in a wide range of environments. Recently, NIR measurements have been utilized as probe for quantitative analysis in agricultural, industrial, and medical sciences. In addition, it is also possible to make practical application on NIR for molecular structural analysis. In this work, Fourier transform near infrared (FT-NIR) measurements were carried out to utilize extensively in the relative amounts of different secondary structures were employed, such as Iysozyme, concanavalin A, silk fibroin and so on. Several broad NIR bands due to the protein absorption were observed between 4000 and $5000\;^{-1}$. In order to obtain more structural information from these featureless bands, second derivative and Fourier-self-deconvolution procedures were performed. Significant band separation was observed near the feature at $4610\;^{-1}$ ,. Particularly the peak intensity at $4525\;^{-1}$ shows a characteristic change with thermal denaturation of fibroin. The structural information can be also obtained by mid-IR and CD spectral. Correlation of NIR spectra with protein structure is discussed.

Preparation and Characterization of Thin Films by Plasma Polymerization of Hexamethyldisiloxane

  • Plasma polymerized hexamethyldisiloxane (PPHMDSO) thin films were produced using an electrode capacitively coupled apparatus. Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy analysis indicated that the thin film spectra are composed not only of the corresponding monomer bands but also of several new bands. Auger electron spectroscopy analysis indicated that the permeation depth of aluminum into the films is ca. 30nm when top electrode is deposited by evaporation aluminum. The increase of relative dielectric constant and decrease of dielectric loss tangent with the discharge power is originated from high cross-link of the films.

  • FTIR 분광계는 간섭계를 사용하여 표적 물질에 대한 간섭무늬를 획득하고, 이를 푸리에 변환함으로써 기체상태 물질의 적외선 영역 스펙트럼을 획득하기 위한 유용한 기법이다. 본 논문에서는 불규칙적 위치에서 간섭무늬 샘플링에 관하여 고속 스캔 간섭계의 신호처리에서의 샘플링 노이즈 영향에 대한 연구와 이에 대하여 실험적으로 검증 하였다.
