When a radial wheel is placed so as to partially overlap a conductive plate and rotated, a lift force is generated on the wheel, a thrust force along the edge, and a lateral force which tends to reduce the overlap region. When several of these wheels are combined, it is possible to realize a system in which the stability of the remaining axes is ensured, except in the traveling direction. To validate the overall characteristics of the multi-wheel system, we propose a transfer system levitated magnetically using radial electrodynamic wheels. The proposed system is floated and propelled by four wheels and arranged in a structure that allows the thrusts generated by the front and rear wheels to offset each other. The dynamic stability of the wheel and the effect of the pole number on the three-axial forces are analyzed by the finite element method. At this time, the thrust and levitation force are strongly coupled, and the only factor affecting them is the wheel rotation speed. Therefore, in order to control these two forces independently, we make use of the fact that the ratio of the thrust to the levitation force is proportional to the velocity and is independent of the size of the gap. The in-plane and out-of-plane motion control of the system is achieved by this control method and compared with the simulation results. The experimental results show that the coupled degrees of freedom can be effectively controlled by the wheel speed alone.
This paper presents an experimental and numerical study on composite tubes for the energy absorber of the high-speed train. The purpose of the experimental study is to find out which lay-up is the best lay-up for the energy absorber. Four lay-ups were tested using quasi static method: $[0/45/90/-45]_4$, $[0]_{16}$, $[0/90]_8$, $[0/30/-30]_5$. Two triggering methods were used to create initial damage and guarantee the progressive collapse mode: bevel edge and notch edge. As a result, $[0/45/90/-45]_4$ lay-up was find out the best lay-up among the laminates being tested. In the numerical study, a parametric analysis was done to find out the most proper way to simulate the quasi static test of a composite tube using LS-DYNA program. A single composite tube was modeled to be crashed by a moving wall. Comparison between simulation and experiment was done. Reasonable agreement between experiment and analysis was obtained. Dealing with parameter TFAIL and the mass scaling factor, this parametric study shows the ability and the limitation of LS-DYNA in modeling the quasi static test for the composite tube.

This paper concerns about total dynamic analysis of integrated mining system. This system consists of vertical steel pipe, intermediate buffer station, flexible pipe and self-propelled miner. The self-propelled miner and buffer are assumed as rigid-body of 6-dof. Discrete models of vertical steel pipe and flexible pipe are adopted, which are obtained by means of lumped-parameter method. The motion of mining vessel is not considered. Instead, the motion of mining vessel is taken into account in form of various boundary conditions (e.g. forced excitation in slow motion and/or fast oscillation and so on). A terramechanics model of extremely cohesive soft soil is applied to the self-propelled miner. Hinged and ball constraints are used to define the connections between sub-systems (vertical steel pipe, buffer, flexible pipe, self-propelled miner). Equations of motion of the coupled model are derived with respect to the each local coordinates system. Four Euler parameters are used to express the orientations of the sub-systems. To solve the equations of motion of the total dynamic model, an incremental-iterative formulation is employed. Newmark-${\beta}$ method is used for time-domain integration. The total dynamic responses of integrated mining system are investigated.

The demand for a climatological dataset with a regular spaced grid is increasing in diverse fields such as ecological and hydrological modeling as well as regional climate impact studies. PRISM(Precipitation-Elevation Regressions on Independent Slopes Model) is a useful method to estimate high-altitude precipitation. However, it is not well discussed over the optimization of PRISM parameters and DEM(Digital Elevation Model) resolution in South Korea. This study developed the PRISM and then optimized parameters of the model and DEM resolution for producing a gridded annual average precipitation data of South Korea with 1km spatial resolution during the period 2000-2005. SCE-UA (Shuffled Complex Evolution-University of Arizona) method employed for the optimization. In addition, sensitivity analysis investigates the change in the model output with respect to the parameter and the DEM spatial resolution variations. The study result shows that maximum radius within which station search will be conducted is 67km. Minimum radius within which all stations are included is 31km. Minimum number of stations required for cell precipitation and elevation regression calculation is four. Optimizing DEM resolution is $1{\times}1km$. This study also shows that the PRISM output very sensitive to DEM spatial resolution variations. This study contributes to improving the accuracy of PRISM technique as it applies to South Korea.
The purpose of this study is to construct Parent Attachment Scale for Children. Adapting the item consisting method used in Experiences in Close Relationships-Revised(ECR-R), Parent Attachment Scale for Children was constructed to measure child's attachment style with their parent, reliably and validly. Also, reliability and item trait informations based on item response theory were reviewed. First preliminary items were derived from the original items of ECR-R and existing Attachment Inventories. These items were modified and complemented to be easier and keep the original meaning of each item. Second preliminary items were administrated to 4~6th grades students(N=576). Finally, Parent Attachment Scale for Children were consisted with 30 items based on two-parameter graded response model. Internal consistency ranges of the scales of Parent Attachment Scale for Children are as follows : Avoidance scale is .94~.96; Anxiety scale is .85~.88. Test-retest reliability ranges are as follows; Avoidance scale is .71~.80; Anxiety scale is .53~.68. Item discrimination and item information value were within an appropriated range. Hierarchical cluster analysis with Ward's Method revealed four types of attachment style : Secure, Dismissing, Preoccupied, Fearful. Other implications and limitations of this study were discussed.

In this paper, we present the method to effectively extract and classify the EEG caused by only brain activity when a normal subject is in a state of mental activity. We measure the synchronous EEG on the auditory event when a subject who is in a normal state thinks of a specific task, and then shift the baseline and reduce the effect of biological artifacts on the measured EEG. Finally we extract only the mental task signal by averaging method, and then perform the recognition of the extracted mental task signal by computing the AR coefficients. In the experiment, the auditory stimulus is used as an event and the EEG was recorded from the three channel $C_3-A_1$, $C_4-A_2$ and $P_Z-A_1$. After averaging 16 times for each channel output, we extracted the features of specific mental tasks by modeling the output as 12th order AR coefficients. We used total 36th order coefficient as an input parameter of the neural network and measured the training data 50 times per each task. With data not used for training, the rate of task recognition is 34-92 percent on the two tasks, and 38-54 percent on the four tasks.
Purpose: factor analysis and independent component analysis (ICA) has been used for handling dynamic image sequences. Theoretical advantages of a newly suggested ICA method, ensemble ICA, leaded us to consider applying this method to the analysis of dynamic myocardial $H_2^{15}O$ PET data. In this study, we quantified patients' blood flow using the ensemble ICA method. Materials and Methods: Twenty subjects underwent $H_2^{15}O$ PET scans using ECAT EXACT 47 scanner and myocardial perfusion SPECT using Vertex scanner. After transmission scanning, dynamic emission scans were initiated simultaneously with the injection of $555{\sim}740$ MBq $H_2^{15}O$. Hidden independent components can be extracted from the observed mixed data (PET image) by means of ICA algorithms. Ensemble learning is a variational Bayesian method that provides an analytical approximation to the parameter posterior using a tractable distribution. Variational approximation forms a lower bound on the ensemble likelihood and the maximization of the lower bound is achieved through minimizing the Kullback-Leibler divergence between the true posterior and the variational posterior. In this study, posterior pdf was approximated by a rectified Gaussian distribution to incorporate non-negativity constraint, which is suitable to dynamic images in nuclear medicine. Blood flow was measured in 9 regions - apex, four areas in mid wall, and four areas in base wall. Myocardial perfusion SPECT score and angiography results were compared with the regional blood flow. Results: Major cardiac components were separated successfully by the ensemble ICA method and blood flow could be estimated in 15 among 20 patients. Mean myocardial blood flow was $1.2{\pm}0.40$ ml/min/g in rest, $1.85{\pm}1.12$ ml/min/g in stress state. Blood flow values obtained by an operator in two different occasion were highly correlated (r=0.99). In myocardium component image, the image contrast between left ventricle and myocardium was 1:2.7 in average. Perfusion reserve was significantly different between the regions with and without stenosis detected by the coronary angiography (P<0.01). In 66 segment with stenosis confirmed by angiography, the segments with reversible perfusion decrease in perfusion SPECT showed lower perfusion reserve values in $H_2^{15}O$ PET. Conclusions: Myocardial blood flow could be estimated using an ICA method with ensemble learning. We suggest that the ensemble ICA incorporating non-negative constraint is a feasible method to handle dynamic image sequence obtained by the nuclear medicine techniques.
Y3Al5O2 and Nd: Y3Al5012 single crystals were grown by Czochralskl technique. The effectt of pulling rate rotation rate, and doping level of Nd3+ ion on the crystal quality were studied Various types of defects were analysed by photo-elastic effect and chemical etching method Finally, spectroscopic and laser poputies of grown crystal were measured. Optirmum pulling rate for good quality was dependant on the doping level of Nd3+ ion. It was found that the suitable pulling rates for pure Y3Al5O12 for 3.0∼3.5 a/o Nd3+ ion doped Y3Al5012 and for more than 40 a/o Nd3+ ion doped Y3Al5012 were 2∼4mm/hr, 0.6∼0.5mm/hr, and less than 0.4mm/hr respectively. Solid-liquid interface was convex at the rotation rate of 27∼60rpm, and concave at the rotation rate of 80∼100rpm. Growth axis was confired to <111> direction and lattice parameter was measured to 12.017A. Core (211) facets,striations, inclusions of metal particles, dislocations and optical inhonngeneities were detected. Four level laser transition of Nd3+ion in YIAls012 single crystal were identified by the spectroscopic measurements. Laser rod with tam diameter and 63mm length was fabricated from grown Nd3+ Y3Al5012 sin91e crystals. 1.8lJ of lasing threshould and 0.49% of soope efficiency were measured by the Pulsed laser action.

In this paper, we propose thermal resistance compact model of FinFET structure that has hexagon shaped source/drain. The heating effect and thermal properties were increased by reduced size of the device, and thermal resistance is an important factor to analyze the effect and the properties. The heat source and each contact that is moved heat out were set up in transistor, and domain is divided by the heat source and the four parts of contacts : source, drain, gate, substrate. Each contact thermal resistance model is subdivided as a easily interpretable structure by analyzing the temperature and heat flow of the TCAD simulation results. The domains are modeled based on an integration or conformal mapping method through the structure parameters according to its structure. First modeled by analyzing the thermal resistance to a single fin, and applying the change in the parameter of the channel increases to improve the accuracy of the thermal resistance model of the multi-fin/ finger. The proposed thermal resistance model was compared to the thermal resistance by analyzing results of the 3D Technology CAD simulations, and the proposed total thermal resistance model has an error of 3 % less in single and multi-finl. The proposed thermal resistance model can predict the thermal resistance due to the increase of the fin / finger, and the circuit characteristics can be improved by calculating the self-heating effect and thermal characterization.
Objective: The purpose of this study was to determine how exercise intensity affects muscle activity and kinematic variables during squat. Method: Fifteen trainers with >5 years of experience were recruited. For the electromyography (EMG) measurements, four surface electrodes were attached to both sides of the lower extremity to monitor the rectus femoris (RF) and biceps femoris. Three digital camcorders were used to obtain three-dimensional kinematics of the body. Each subject performed a squat in different conditions (40% one-repetition maximum [40%1RM], 60%1RM, and 80%1RM). For each trial being analyzed, three critical instants and two phases were identified from the video recording. For each dependent variable, one-way analysis of variance with repeated measures was used to determine whether there were significant differences among the three different conditions (p<.05). When a significant difference was found, post hoc analyses were performed using the contrast procedure. Results: The results showed that the average integrated EMG values of the RF were significantly greater in 80%1RM than in 40%1RM during the extension phase. The temporal parameter was significantly longer in 80%1RM than in 40%1RM and 60%1RM during the extension phase. The joint angle of the knee was significantly greater in 80%1RM than in 40%1RM at flexion. The range of motion of the knee was significantly less in 80%1RM than in 40%1RM and 60%1RM during the flexion phase and the extension phase. The angular velocity was significantly less in 80%1RM than in 40%1RM and 60%1RM during the extension phase. Conclusion: Generally, the increase of muscle strength decreases the pace of motion based on the relation between the strength and speed of muscle. In this study, we also found that the increase of exercise intensity may contribute to the increase of the muscle activity of the RF and the running time in the extension phase during squat motion. We observed that increased exercise intensity may hinder the regulation of the range of motion and joint angle. It is suitable to perform consistent movements while controlling the proper range of motion to maximize the benefit of resistance training.
