  • Form-ratio means the ratio of height/Width/Depth in 3-dimensions. The golden ratio or golden section is included as one of the form-ratio. We conducted two kinds of kansei experiments of cubic model and refrigerator varied from 1:1:1 to 1:1:3.66 on the scale of x:y:z. The subjects evaluate the form-ratios of 3-dimensional cubes and virtual products with SD-scale Kansei words(feelings and images). We applied the factor analysis to identify semantic space in cube model and virtual products. Finally, we compared with kansei structure of cube model and virtual product.

  • Recent issues in Optical Disk Drive (ODD) are focused on small size. Blu-ray Disk (BD), using blue laser (405nm wavelength) and high NA (0.85) objective lens. can store 25Gbyte on a conventional 12cm optical disk. Small Form Factor Optical (SFFO) drive uses 3cm disk which can store 1.5Gbyte on a disk. This kind of Small Form Factot Optical (SFFO) drive correspond to PCMCIA type memory (Compact Flash or Micro Drive). Preferably, Optical Disk has relatively low cost of the storage media per Byte rather than PCMCIA type memory. To make Small Form Factor Optical (SFFO) drive. optical pickup and its component must be miniaturized. Miniaturization of the component needs new concept of Optical Pickup. This paper is focused on two main subjects. One is Objective Lens design which can be manufactured on a wafer, and the other is optical path design of the pickup which has 2mm thickness.

  • LRFD Resistance factors for static bearing capacity of driven steel pipe piles were calibrated in the freamework of reliability theory. Reliability analysis was performed by the First Order Reliability Method (FORM) using resistance bias factor statistics.The target reliability indices are selected as 2.0 and 2.33 for group pile case and 2.5 for single pile case, based on the reliability level of the current design practice and considering redundancy of pile group, acceptable risk level, construction quality control, and significance of individual structure.

실내공간에 있어서 식물 이용 방법과 선호도 분석에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Method of Using Plants and Preference Analysis for Interior Space)

  • This study intens to provide available guideline of useful plants in interior and be used by designer. It focuses on evaluating the character of plants, the method of installation and the form of composition for suitable design of using plants. The study finds out that using plants in interior are necessary positively by 94% respondents. And results of factor analysis are that plants are needed for emothional stability(factor 1), visual charming(factor 2), and educational effection(factor 3). According to job, the group of students is visual charming (P=0.0037), the public servants and housewives is educational effection(p=0.0029). The most available space of plants as follows : Department(30.5%), Hotell(26.3%), House and Restuarant(12.7%). It has been identified that the public institution and commercial space are much indused plants. The most indused plants in house is ordered that the veranda, the living room, the entrance. This result is concerned about relation of natural light plants. The repondants reply that the favorite arrangement style is the corner form(63%), the center garden form(52.1%), the large planter(19.7%), the planter box(11.3%). They respond that they are more favorite light green color than dark, and mono color than mixture color. Finally, interior Designers should be understood the functional and aesthetic elements and the special interest about plants for developing desigv.

Coverlayer Fabrication of Small Form Factor Optical Disks

  • Two different coverlayers which is useful for an optical buffer and a mechanical protection made of not only UV resin but also polycarbonate coversheet were prepared on small form factor optical disks. Thin coverlayer of 10 ${\mu}m$ and thick coverlayer of 80 ${\mu}m$ were fabricated. 10 ${\mu}m$-thick coverlayer was coated using UV resin material by spin coating method for the flying optical head application. On the other hand, 80 ${\mu}m$-thick coverlayer using coversheet with the resin bonding material was prepared for the non-flying optical head application. Both cases, the thickness uniformity seem to be the primary prerequisite factor, and it was analyzed. Thickness of 10 ${\mu}m$-thick UV resin coverlayer could be controlled within ${\pm}0.2m$ range and 80 ${\mu}m$-thick coversheet could be controlled within ${\pm}3{\mu}m$ range. However, the yield of such thickness tolerance was not good. New design of metal housing holder and polycarbonate outer ring was adopted to diminish the ski-jump phenomenon. Specifically, the polycarbonate outer ring was very effective to reduce the ski-jump. However, it should be careful to maintain uniform edge between disk and ring for the perfect coverlayer.

Analytical determination of shear correction factor for Timoshenko beam model

  • Timoshenko beam model is widely exploited in the literature to examine the mechanical behavior of stubby beam-like components. Timoshenko beam theory is well-known to require the shear correction factor in order to recognize the nonuniform shear distribution at a section. While a variety of shear correction factors are appeared in the literature so far, there is still no consensus on the most appropriate form of the shear correction factor. The Saint-Venant's flexure problem is first revisited in the frame work of the classical theory of elasticity and a highly accurate approximate closed-form solution is presented employing the extended Kantorovich method. The resulted approximate solution for the elasticity field is then employed to introduce two shear correction factors consistent with the Cowper's and energy approaches. The mathematical form of the proposed shear correction factors are then simplified and compared with the results available in the literature over an extended range of Poisson's and aspect ratios. The proposed shear correction factors do not exhibit implausible issue of negative values and do not result in numerical instabilities too. Based on the comprehensive discussion on the shear correction factors, a piecewise definition of shear correction factor is introduced for rectangular cross-sections having excellent agreement with the numerical results in the literature for both shallow and deep cross-sections.

수학 은유 분석을 통한 대학생들의 학교 수학에 대한 인식과 선호도 조사 (A Survey on Undergraduate Students' Perception and Preference of School Mathematics by analysis of metaphor about mathematics)

  • 본 논문은 대학생 124명을 대상으로 수학 교과와 수학 학습에 대한 긍정적 또는 부정적 인식과 그러한 인식을 갖게된 시기와 이유를 조사하여 범주화하고 각 범주별 특성을 분석하는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 이를 위해 수학에 대한 느낌을 은유로 표현하고 그 이유를 자세히 설명하도록 하였으며 학생들의 은유 표현을 긍정형, 부정형, 혼재형, 판정불가로 분류하여 남녀 성별 및 계열별로 각 유형별 비율과 유형별 표현의 특성을 살펴보았다. 또한, 학생들의 수학에 대한 선호 시기와 비선호 시기를 초등학교, 중학교, 고등학교, 대학교, 항상, 없음의 여섯 시기로 나누어 각 영역별 비율을 살펴보았고, 선호 및 비선호 이유를 성적요인, 정의적 요인, 내용적 요인, 교사 요인, 기타 요인과 같이 다섯가지로 나누어 분석하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 학생들의 제시한 수학 은유 표현은 긍정형이 27%, 부정형이 42%, 혼재형이 27%로 부정형 표현을 가장 많이 제시하였다. 특히, 계열별 분석에서는 인문사회계열과 공학계열의 학생들은 부정형 표현이 긍정형에 비하여 2배 정도 높았지만, 자연계열 학생들의 경우에는 반대로 긍정형 표현이 부정형에 비하여 2배 정도 높은 비율을 보였다. 둘째, 수학에 대한 선호시기와 이유를 묻는 질문을 한 결과, 초, 중, 고등학교로 진급할수록 수학에 대한 선호 비율이 높아졌다. 당시 수학을 선호했던 이유로는 성적 요인과 정의적 요인이 높은 비율을 보였다. 셋째, 수학 비선호 시기와 이유에 대한 질문 결과를 보면, 마찬가지로 초, 중, 고등학교로 진급할수록 수학에 대한 비선호 비율이 높아졌다. 그 이유로는 수학 학습 내용의 난이도가 갑자기 높아졌다는 내용적 요인과 성적 요인을 제시한 경우가 많았다.

비선형 최적화 기법에 의한 최소 조파저항 선형 생성 (Hull Form Generation of Minimum Wave Resistance by a Nonlinear Optimization Method)

  • 본 논문은 조파저항 성능 평가법을 비선형 계획법에 적용해서 선수 형상의 최적화에 응용한 연구결과이다. 조파저항은 비점성 포텐셜 유동의 가정으로 랜킨 소오스법(Rankine source method)을 이용하여 계산하였고 최적화 기법으로는 SQP(Sequential Quadratic Programming)법을 이용하였다. 선수형상의 표현과 변경은 스플라인(spline)함수를 이용하였으며 본 방법에 의하여 조파저항이 최소가 되는 선수형상의 결정이 가능하였다. 또한 마찰저항공식과 경험식으로 주어지는 형상영향계수(from factor)를 고려한 점성저항을 첨가하여 총 저항이 최소가 되는 선수 형상도 도출하여 서로 비교하였다.

랜드마크의 영향력 범위와 인지요인과의 관계 (A Study on the Relationship between Influential Range and Cognition Factor of Landmark)

  • This study investigated the influential range of landmarks and the relationship between landmarks and cognition factor so as to offer basic data to be used for the effective use and the management of landmarks. In this study, eighteen famous landmark in Seoul were selected and analyzed. The result of this study can be summarized as follows : 1) First, eighteen determining elements of cognition factors were selected via documents survey. Second, general cognition factors of landmarks were analysed using these elements through questionnaires to specialists. As a result of factor analysis, historic cultural factor, scale factor, visual form factor, locational factor and uniqueness factor were revealed. 2) According to revealed cognition factor, eighteen landmarks are categorized into four types using MDS method via questionnaire to resident in Seoul city. These four types of landmarks are: type I that are recognized by historic cultural factor; type II that are recognized by scale factor; type III that are recognized by uniqueness factor; and type IV that are recognized by visual form factor. 3) As the result of regression, the influential range of landmarks were revealed at about a 10km radius(type I : 12km type II : whole area of Seoul city≒15km, typeIII : 8.7km, typeIV : 8.5km). 4) As a result of analysing the correlation between the influential range and the cognition factor through multiple linear regression analysis, the locational factor is the main factor affecting the influential range of landmarks in every type. The uniqueness factor comes next, which affects influential range partially. 5) Except type 1, as a result of analysing the correlation between influential range and the physical heights of landmarks, a quadratic equation is revealed, showing that the influential range of landmarks over 200 meters in height shows a radical change. Landmarks can be used as reinforcement tools of legibility, effective tools for landscape management and for the improvement of a community's image. This study on the influential range of landmarks and main cognition factor can be utilized as a landmark management plan and in urban planning, such as a new town plan.

월경 전기 평가서 (Premenstrual Assessment Form : PAF)의 신뢰도, 타당도 연구 - 청소년을 대상으로 - (Evaluation of the Reliablility and Validity of Premenstrual Assessment Form in Adolescents)

  • 본 연구는 월경전기 평가서(PAF)의 신뢰도와 타당도를 검증하고자 하였다. 서울시내 모 여고생 300명을 대상으로 PAF를 실시하여 검사 실시 상의 신뢰성이 의심되는 것을 제외한 250명 중에서 월경전기에 불편감을 느끼는가라는 질문에 예라고 응답한 230명의 자료에 대해 통계분석을 하였다. 피험자의 평균 연령은 $16.8{\pm}30.71$세, 초경연령은 $13.1{\pm}61.12$세였다. PAF 95문항의 평균과 반응빈도를 살펴본 결과 모든 문항에 골고루 응답되어 PMS의 다양성을 확인할 수 있었고 그 중에서도 한국 청소년의 주된 월경전기증상을 반영하는 것으로 보이는 21개 문항을 확인할 수 있었다. 검사의 내적 일치도는 ${\alpha}=.95$로 상당히 높아 문항의 동질성이 있음이 밝혀졌으며 검사-재검사 신뢰도는 r=.80으로 시간경과에 따른 검사의 안정성을 확인할 수 있었다. 요인분석 결과 충동성 및 불안정성 요인, 우울 요인, 철수 및 사회적 기능 손상 요인, 불안 및 인지기능 손상 요인, 신체생리적 변화 요인, 전반적 불편감 요인, 안녕감 증가 요인, 기타요인의 8개 요인구조가 확인되었다. 결론적으로 타당도 연구에서는 추출된 하위 요인구조 들이 월경전기 증상을 잘 반영하고 있으며 신뢰도 연구 결과도 만족스러운 수준을 보여 PAP가 월경전기 변화를 선별평가 하는데 유용하게 쓰일 수 있을 것으로 기대된다. 논의에서는 요인분석에 의한 분류체계를 Halbreich등(1982)의 주관적 평가기준에 의해 만들어진 형태학적 분류와 비교하여 보았고 마지막으로 본 연구의 제한점에 대해 논의해보았다.
