Analysis of Factors Affecting Purchase Intentions for Fashion Cultural Products

  • This study conducted an empirical study on fashion cultural products that targeted foreign visitors to identify variables related to foreigners' purchase intention towards fashion cultural products. A total of 424 surveys were returned (with 393 deemed usable). The collected data was analyzed using SPSS 12.0 and AMOS 5.0 to provide the following results. The purchase intention model for fashion cultural products was verified along with an identification of a causal relationship where personal factors and attitudes lead to purchase intention. In particular, the effect of universalism and the exposure degree to Korea was greater than global-mindedness. Two factors (attitudes toward authenticity and towards aesthetic elements) exerted a significant effect on purchase intention; comparatively, the attitude toward authenticity showed a greater influence on the purchase intention.

문화관광축제 참가자 만족도 연구-난계국악축제 사례('2003/2004) (Visitors' Satisfaction about the Cultural Tourism Festival : The Mange Traditional Music Festival 2003/2004)

  • 본 연구는 국내의 유일한 국가지정(문화관광부) 문화관광축제중에서 유일한 국악축제인 난계 국악축제의 2003년과 그리고 2004년 축제방문자를 대상으로, 축제 방문객의 프로그램 만족도를 조사하여 국악 축제만족도를 향상 시킬 수 있는 방안을 마련하기 위해 연구 되었다. 세부적으로, 축제를 방문한 지역민과 국내 축제 방문객간의 만족을 비교하였고, 인기 있는 국악 악기의 종류와 그 원인을 알아보았다. 이를 통해 난계 국악 축제의 만족도 향상 방안을 제시하였으며, 축제 조직자들에게 실무적 시사점을 주고자 하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 축제 프로그램에 관한 지역민들의 만족도는 국내 방문객들보다 높았다. 둘째, 방문객들은 장고와 대금같이 익숙하고 배우기 쉬운 국악악기를 선호 하였다. 셋째, 방문객들은 체험중심의 프로그램에 대한 만족도가 높은 것으로 밝혀졌다. 된 연구를 통해 밝혀진 결과를 중심으로 난계 국악축제 조직자들에 대한 실무적 시사점으로 첫째, 더욱 많은 체험 프로그램의 도입의 필요성이 지적되었다. 둘째, 다른 국악기들간의 소리 방해 문제는 방문자들의 만족도를 떨어뜨리는바 분리된 악기 체험실이 필요하다. 셋째, 축제프로그램에 대해 더욱 적극적인 대외적 안내활동이 필요하다. 넷째, 전통국악 악기와 전통음악에 대한 일정수준의 지식을 가진 가이드에 의한 축제 프로그램 해설이 필요하다. 또한 축제 방문 외국인을 위해서, 외국어에 능통하면서도 전통국악기에 대한 지식이 풍부한 해설사의 필요성이 제기 되었다.

  • 본 연구에서는 한국을 방문하는 외국인들을 대상으로 한식의 브랜드이미지가 한식의 만족도에 미치는 영향을 확인하고 한국 대표음식을 조절변수로 어떤 영향이 있는지 조사하였다. 연구의 조사는 영어를 사용하는 방한외국인 277명을 대상으로 출국하는 외국인과 외국 관광객을 담당하는 여행사 직원에게 설문조사의 목적과 설문 방법에 대해 충분한 설명을 한 후, 그 담당자의 책임 하에 자기기입식으로 설문조사를 했다. 설문조사를 하였다. 연구결과, 한식 브랜드이미지 중 품질안정성, 매력성, 건강증진성은 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났고, 가족지향성은 부정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 그리고 한식 대표음식의 식사류를 조절변수로 하여 나온 결과는 가족지향성이 긍정적인 조절효과가 있었으며, 고기류를 조절변수로 나온 결과는 품질 안정성이 긍정적인 조절효과가 있었다.

방한 외국인 한국에 대한 국가이미지가 패션문화상품 선호도에 미치는 영향 (Foreign Visitors' Korean National Image Influencing Preference of Fashion Cultural Products)

  • Korea's national image can be delivered through cultural products, and cultural products can finally contribute to the affirmative attitude and recognition towards Korea. In an empirical study, a questionnaire was developed based on literature review and focus group interviews with foreigners who visit Korea were executed. Subjects of this study were foreign visitors from US, China, and Japan. Finally, a total of 247 copies were used for analyses. Descriptive analyses, factor analysis, regression analysis, ANOVA, Duncan test, and paired sample t-test were conducted for data analysis, Results are as follows. Firstly, as a result of factor analysis, I found that there were seven factors to form the image of Korea; culture/art, openness, lechnology/quality, food culture, passionate narcissism, conservativeness, and pursuit of quality of life. Secondly, Several image factors were found to influence positively or negatively on their attitude toward fashion cultural products. Especially, culture/art factor was found to influence positively to Chinese and Japanese and lechnology/quality factor was found to influence positively to Japanese and American. Meanwhile, conservativeness factor was found to influence negatively to Chinese. This study will be of help to practitioners of the fashion cultural product industry for building marketing strategies whose target market is foreign visitors from different cultural backgrounds.

동대문 패션시장의 이미지와 패션제품에 대한 외국인 소비자의 인식 - 두타몰 지역을 중심으로 - (Foreign customers' recognition on DongDaeMun fashion market and products - Focused on the Doota-Mall zone -)

  • The purpose of this study is to provide the fundamental data through researching on the actual condition of foreign consumers, the image of DongDaeMun fashion market, the customer satisfaction measurement of DongDaeMun fashion market, and the degree of satisfaction of DongDaeMun market's products. The results of this study are as follows: 1. The analysis on gender who visits DongDaeMun fashion market reveals that female(77.6%) was more than male, and the each age group has a priority in orders of 30s, 20s and 40s. The Japanese shoppers has more willing to visit again and a number of visitors has visited more than twice and many of them came by for the purpose of shopping. Japanese shoppers get the information of DongDaeMun fashion market from families or advertisements by media, while Chinese customers get the information through travel agencies. 2. The image of DongDaeMun fashion market by foreigners is generally positive. They were satisfied with the facilities of DongDaeMun fashion market, the convenience of transportation, business hour and ambience of store, and fashion of clothes. Foreign customers who visited Korea on purpose to do shopping and frequent visitors to Korea have a similar image of DongDaeMun fashion market with that of domestic visitors. 3. The degree of satisfaction to the DongDaeMun fashion market for clothing was usually high. There were only few differences between Chinese shoppers and Japanese shoppers. The higher the satisfaction to the DongDaeMun fashion market was the more they had bought and high intention of visiting. And the more experiences of visiting to the DongDaeMun fashion market showed the higher degree of satisfaction.

외국인의 한국음식에 대한 인지도와 기호도 (Recognition and Preference to Korean Traditional Food of Foreign Visitors in Korea)

  • To investigate the perception and preference of foreign visitors to Korean traditional foods, 206 visitors(male 142, female 61) were surveyed with questionnaires translating in English, Chinese and Japanese. Subjects had various nationality such as China(77.4%), America(20.9%), Japan(16.0%), Canada(6.5%), Southeast Asia(2.5%) and Europe(2.5%). The 70.2% of the respondents had been tried Korean dishes before visiting Korea on the recommendation of friends or acquaintances(59.9%) or by the advertisement, articles, and travel agency. Bulgogi and Kimchi were the most popular menu that they had been tried in their country and Bibimbop, Kalbi, Korean dumpling, Samgaetang and Chapchae were following. 29.8% of the respondents had never tried Korean dishes because of they didn't have a chance to try(43.1%) or there were no Korean restaurant near their place(25.5%) or they had no interest in Korean dishes(23.5%). As expected, Kimchi and Bulgogi were well known food, showing rank of highest recognition. Chun and Dduck were the dishes that they had heard or saw but not eaten and Goojeolpan and Shinsunro were the dishes that they had not heard or saw. Preference to Korean dishes shows the same tendency as perception, Bulgogi, Bibimbop, Kalbi and Kimchi were the highly preferred group and Samgaetang, Bindaedduck, Chapchae, Dumpling and Raengmyon were mildly preferred one and Cucumber Kimchi, Kalbitang, Chun, Namul, Dduck were lower group of preference and Shinsunro and Goojeolpan were rarely preferred. These result shows that it is needed to advertise Korean dishes and to make events for globalization of Korean food.

외국인의 한국음식에 대한 이미지, 기호도, 중요도 및 만족도 -대구 지역 방문자를 대상으로- (Study on Image, Preference, Importance and Satisfaction to Korean Traditional Food of Foreign Visitors in Korea, Daegu)

  • To investigate the image, preference, importance and satisfaction of foreign visitors to Korean foods, 220 visitors (male 104, female 115) were surveyed with questionnaires in English and Japanese. To achieve this research purpose, frequency analysis, exploratory factor analysis, t-test, and one way ANOVA was performed using the SPSS 15.0 program. Subjects had various nationality such as Europe/Oceania (24.7%/), Asia (23.3%), Africa (12.8), and North America (39.3). The representative food was kimchi > bibimbop > bulgogi but the most favorite food was bibimbop > kalbi > bulgogi in order. Like this, there are some discrepancies among the food choice, especially in kimchi, so the taste of kimchi should be improved according to the foreigners' taste. The results of the preference about the image get the high grade from those factors; the resonable price of Korean food, the spicy taste, various kinds of food according to the settings of the table, good for the health with excellent taste. Foreigners consider that the cleanliness of food and tableware, the sanitation of the restaurants, the taste of the food and freshness of ingredients are the important factors in Korean food and Korean restaurants. According to these factors, the satisfaction is affected by the attitude of servers > the taste of the food > the freshness of the ingredients > the amount of the food > the atmosphere of the restaurants > the cleanliness of the tableware in order. From the relationship between the importance and the satisfaction, the low grade food should improve the color and styling of the food and be served the appropriate amount of the food. Moreover, it is needed to improve the combining the spices and the ingredients to maintain a balance between strong and delicate flavors and with this, Korean food should be more globalized to promote the development of Korea tourism.

방한 외래관광객의 의류상품 구매동기와 구매행동에 관한 실증적 연구 (An Empirical Study on the Clothing Merchandise Purchase Motivation and Behavior of Foreign Visitors in South Korea)

  • This study tries to search and analyze empirically the clothing merchandise purchase motivation and behavior made by foreign visitors who bought clothes as tour memorials in South Korea. To make a empirical study we made survey research and evaluated 30 items for the survey of clothing purchase motivation and 25 items for the survey of the importance and satisfaction revealed at the time of purchase with the standard of Likert 5 point. We had chosen 614 sample participants including 176 English speakers, 211 Japanese speakers, and 277 Chinese speakers among those foreign tourists who had purchased clothing materials at the Dongdaemun Shopping Mall. The result of analysis is as follows : As the result of factor analysis about the clothing merchandise purchase, we had 6 factors. They are (1)impulse, (2)utility, (3)fashionableness, (4)tour commemoration (5)psychology (6)economy. As the result of cluster analysis based on the standard of selected 6 factors of clothing merchandise purchase motivation, we could divide three groups such as (1)the pursuit type of clothing merchandise purchase, (2)the pursuit type of recreation of feeling (3)the pursuit type of tour memorial. As the result of analysis on the items of purchased clothing merchandise, the highest frequency of purchase was made by T-shirt, then by the order of sweater, blouse, and aloha shirt, pants, and jacket. In regard to the importance of items related to clothing merchandise, the highest importance was made by design, then by the order of price, size, color and utility, and style. In regard to the items related to the service of shopping mall, the highest satisfaction was made by the convenience of business hour. Meanwhile, the lowest satisfaction was made by the inconvenience of fitting room, the speaking and by ability of foreign languages by sales agents.

호텔 객실판매 예측에 관한 실증적 연구 - 서울지역 특급호텔을 중심으로 - (Empirical Study on the Forecasting of the Hotel Room Sales)

  • Nothing is more incorrect than forecasting. Nevertheless, forecasting is one of the most important business activities for the effective management. There has been rapid changes of the growth rate in every respect of the Korean hospitaity industry, especially the hotel industry, before and after the 88 Olympic Games. Therefore, the hoteliers shall be in need of more-than-ever accourate demand forecasting for the more systematic management and control. Under the above circumstances, this study suggested the best forecasting technique and method for the better sales and operations of the hotel rooms. The number of rooms sold is selected as a dependent variable of this study which is regarded as the best representative factor of measuring the growth rate of the rooms division performance of the hotels. The first step was to select the most verifiable independent variable diferently from the other countries or other areas of Korea. As a result, the number of foreign visitors was chosen. Empirical research, i.e. correlation and multiple regression analysis, shows that this independent variable has a strong relationship with the dependent variable told above. The second procedure was to estimate the number of rooms will be sold in 1991 on the basis of the formula calculated through the multiple regression analysis. Time series technique was conducted using the data of the number of foreign visitors by purpose of travel from 1987 to 1990. For the more correct forecasting, however, it would be desirable to adopt the data from 1989 considering the product or the industry life cycle. In addition, deeper analysis for the monthly or seasonal forecasting method is needed as a future research.

비영어권 외국인 내원객의 조명 신호와 안내서를 이용한 검사방법 개선 효과(흉부 방사선 검사자를 대상으로) (Improvement of Inspection Methods using Lighting Signals and Guidebook for Non-English speaking Foreign Visitors (For chest X-ray Screening Examinees))

  • 본 연구는 비영어권의 내원객 수가 나날이 증가하고 있고 그에 따른 방사선 검사 시 언어의 소통 및 의사전달에 한계가 있었다. 이에 검사를 위해 제작한 안내서를 배부 후 설명 전후에 따른 개선 효과를 알아 보았다. 검사 부위 인지 여부는 점수 척도가 통계적 유의성이 없었고 검사의 불편 정도, 호흡 지침 이해 정도, 검사 설명 만족도는 제작한 안내서 설명 전후에 따라 점수 척도가 향상되었으며 통계적 유의성이 있었다. 비영어권 외국인 내원객의 경우 영어나 한국어로 했을 때 보다 자국의 문자로 설명하는 것에 만족하였고, 그 방법 또한 검사실 내 조명 신호를 이용하여 외국인 내원객에게 호흡을 조절해야 하는 시기를 알려 줌으로써 효과적인 검사를 시행할 수 있었다. 향후 다양한 언어 통역 프로그램과 다양한 검사 부위에 따른 안내서 제작과 도구 개발, 방사선사 및 의료진의 외국어 능력 향상 등 여러 관점에서 의사소통 수단이 구현 될 때 비로소 의료서비스 및 영상 의학적 검사의 질이 개선 될 수 있을 것이다. 앞으로 다른 영상의학 검사실에서도 영어나 한국어를 이해하지 못하는 비영어권 외국인을 검사할 때 사용할 수 있는 매뉴얼을 마련하는데 기초 자료로 활용 될 수 있을 것으로 사료 된다.
