Objectives : This study was performed to investigate the knowledge on contacting experiences to foreign patients, the equipments and requirements to make the vitalization method for the oriental medical tourism for foreign patients. Methods : We adopted the focusing group interviews on the oriental medical doctors, nurses and personnels who had the experiences to deal with the oriental medical tourism. Results : For 3 parts, translation into each country's language in program, hospital information, treatment information and homepage should be done and consideration into each country's culture is very important part to know medical tourism patients and prepare the adequate products, and lastly the translater or medical coordinator plays a very important role to connect the hospital personnels with medical tourism patients. Conclusions : Translation in to each country's language concerning medical tourism material and understanding on one's country's culture and a medical coordinator are very important constituents for a successful medical tourism.
Recently the tourism industry has achieved rapid growth and thus stands out as a means for the improvement of international payments and the acquirement of foreign currency. In particular, the hotel and major tourist travel industries have been developed for the inducement of foreign tourists. However, the manu-facturing and sales indust\ulcornerries of tourism folklore haven't developed. The reason is that the endeavor to attract tourists has been more emphasized than the development of tourism folklore which includes chief shopping items and indust-rialization. Tourism folklore plays a great role not only as material evidence of a tourist's visit to a country or region but also as a gift and a souvenir. Also it represents the image and the degree of the industrial development of the nation, so it should be congruent with the nature and the images of the region. Nevertheless, our tourism folklore has been merely mass produced by specific companies that do not represent the region's image and nature in their products. Tourism folklore development can raise the image of Choongnam and serve as a catalyst to induce tourists. Also, it can be an avenue for com$$\mu$ity publicity and industrialization. Thus, this study has examined and analyzed original products made with textiles and metal materials whether can be developed into tourism folklore. Also this study presents the example of developed tourism folklore works in a foreign country. It tries to give the unique symbolic image of Choongnam by developing the original products with Choongnam' s own materials. However, this study has shown that the actual conditions of tourism folklore development in Choongnam are seriously inferior to other industries. The producers are limited. Moreover, the product items are coarse. Many problems are being brought up which should be improved. Hereafter, to develop Choongnam's own tourism folklore, it should be carried out with financial and political support from the government, design development by industrial circles, professional design training and marketing research by the sellers.

Medical tourism in Korea has been rapidly grown for last couple of years, based on exclusive support from Korean government. About 60,000 foreign patients received medial services in 2009, an initial stage of entering medical tourism business, and the number of foreign patients received medical services in Korea hiked to more than 266 thousands in 2014, which is showing 34.7% of annual average increase between 2009 and 2014. Diversification of target markets and service areas contributed on this remarkable growth. This paper describes current status of medical tourism in Korea as well as various supports from government for the growth of medical tourism. In addition, the paper presents approaches for brand marketing, by utilizing 7Ps, the marketing mix (a.k.a. service mix), in order to increase awareness and competitiveness of medical services of Korea in global market.

In this study, we consider the problem of forecasting the number of inbound foreigners visiting Korea. Forecasting tourism demand is an essential decision to plan related facilities and staffs, thus many studies have been carried out, mainly focusing on the number of inbound or outbound tourists. In order to forecast tourism demand, we use a seasonal ARIMA (SARIMA) model, as well as a SARIMAX model which additionally comprises an exogenous variable affecting the dependent variable, i.e., tourism demand. For constructing the forecasting model, we use a search procedure that can be used to determine the values of the orders of the SARIMA and SARIMAX. For the exogenous variable, we introduce factors that could cause the tourism demand reduction, such as the 9/11 attack, the SARS and MERS epidemic, and the deployment of THAAD. In this study, we propose a procedure, called Measuring Impact on Demand (MID), where the impact of each factor on tourism demand is measured and the value of the exogenous variable corresponding to the factor is determined based on the measurement. To show the performance of the proposed forecasting method, an empirical analysis was conducted where the monthly number of foreign visitors in 2019 were forecasted. It was shown that the proposed method can find more accurate forecasts than other benchmarks in terms of the mean absolute percentage error (MAPE).
Purposes - In this research, we look over and investigate associations between shopping items and the demographics of foreign tourists in South Korea. The related seven variables are gender, age, occupations, country of residence, visit month, visit purpose and trip type. In addition, we can graph twenty-one shopping items in association with the demographics of foreign tourists by computing their dissimilarity or similarity on two dimension planes granting that the association exists between the underlying variables. Research design and methodology - This research is performed by Ministry of Culture and Tourism in 2017 and investigated 13,200 foreign tourists from 20 countries. For analyzing the detailed relationships between shopping items and the demographics of foreign tourists, we take advantage of both independent test and correspondence analysis as key statistical techniques. Results - The findings show that shopping items which foreign tourists purchase are closely associated with the three different demographics variables such as country of residence, tour type and visit purpose by monitoring significant p-value of chi-squared statistic Conclusions - This study suggests Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism must explore ways toward tourism infrastructure such as global marketing, municipality strategy for attracting foreign tourists, development of diverse shopping items and services and so on.

The main purpose of this paper is to find out the characteristics of foreign tourists comparing to Korean and how they evaluate the festival respectively. Data were collected during the 57th Baekje cultural tourism festival. The total of 674 sample sizes was collected during the festival, of which 558 respondents were domestic visitors, and 116 were foreign visitors. The empirical results showed that domestic visitors and foreign visitors are different in terms of the perception of performance evaluation, and satisfaction. Especially foreigners' degrees of satisfaction proved to be higher than those of koreans. It also expects the result of the study contribute to the development of efficient festival management policies and programs and facilities to meet the goals of cultural tourism festivals. Besides, the outcome of this research may be useful to other festivals and their future operation.
Trade between nations has been considered as exchange for material things. According to recent changes in the paradigm of global trade, trade is shifting focus on the exchange of an immaterial being. Among them, the service sector is growing fast and the health service has shown exceptional growth as the healthcare market is consistently expanding. It is also part of the global service targeting people all around the world. People visiting other countries for medical service tend to spend more money and stay longer than a traveler. For these reasons, global medical service is in the spotlight as a promising and higher value-added business. The global medical service industry has been developed around Asia, specifically Thailand, Singapore, India, etc. Compared to them, Korea has come late into the market of global healthcare and the Korean government is striving to attract foreign patients. Nevertheless, there is a lack of effort to make foreign patients visiting Korea revisit Korea. Regarding foreign patients' medical disputes, these are not yet a problem officially; however, the government cannot leave the matter as it is. Medical dispute related with foreign patients is a highly complex issue due to different languages, nationalities, cultures, etc. Particularly, Korea's medical tourism is developed with Chinese visiting Korea for plastic surgery and cosmetic procedure. Thus, the Korean medical tourism market can be crowded with a lot of minor medical agencies, so-called brokers, getting foreign patients connected to the medical institutions. Consequently, Korea has received a large number of complaints and dissatisfaction. No one can predict and know what's supposed to happen in the future. Efforts of the Korean government and medical institute attracting foreign patients could be in vain. In order to take a step forward, this paper will do research on present conditions and look for strategies of improving this industry, focusing on the part of medical agency and contributing to the improvement of the Korean medical tourism industry.

The purpose of the study to evaluate the contribution of foreign direct investment (FDI) and tourism receipts (TR) to Sri Lanka's gross domestic product (GDP). This study employs time series annual data for the period from 1978 to 2016 and EViews 10 econometrics software was used for the time series data analysis. Unit root test was done on the variables and the method chosen was the Augmented Dicky - Fuller test. Co-integration analysis was used for the long run relationship and the Granger causality test was performed to investigate the causal relationship. Recently a more conducive environment has been established after the three decade long ethnic war came to an end. In this context, the Sri Lankan government has taken positive measures to attract foreign direct investment and boost tourism in the country. This study intends to evaluate the contribution of Sri Lanka, as these two factors are considered to be very effective at increasing the GDP of a country. The empirical study shows that there is a positive and statistically significant relationship between the variable's TR and FDI to the GDP in the long run. Results of Granger causality test implied that the two-way causality promoted the economic growth of Sri Lanka.

Tourist loyalty is created through good tourism service quality and the availability of tourism products. This study discussed the various attributes of tourism service quality, namely, tour agents, efficient personnel, accessible transportation, and information service quality. Whereas for tourism product availability attributes were varieties of product availability, wide selection of tour agents and tourist products, and wide variety of amenity services. As a general rule, the minimum is to have at least five times as many observations as the number of variables to be analyzed, and the more acceptable sample size would have a 10:1 ratio. A total of 424 questionnaires were returned, with 35 removed due to errors. Finally, 389 questionnaires respondents were used via accidental sampling method through the distribution of questionnaires to foreign tourists at Soekarno Hatta International Airport. In addition, AMOS 7.0 software is used to test models in confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) as well as hypothetical testing using structural equation modeling (SEM). The results showed that all hypotheses were accepted, except for the effect of tourism service quality on tourist loyalty in Indonesia. This research aims to contribute significantly to the existing knowledge of tourism, specifically from a foreign tourist perspective in Indonesia.
Purpose. Medical tourism is recently becoming a new industry with great growth potential. The South Korean government is shifting medical tourism from simple cultural tourism to a high value-added industry with a new paradigm. Methods. The government has been providing positive support and marketing policies since the introduction of the article concerning foreign patient attraction to the medical law in 2009, and various types of medical institutions around the country has participated actively in medical tourism by themselves or in cooperation of government bodies and made increasingly greater performance. Results. This study obtained the following results. The medical institutions in Korea have been making efforts to see more development and profitability in diverse ways, including medical tourism for foreign patients and the advance of the Korean medical institutions into foreign markets. However, many local governing bodies and medical institutions participating in medical tourism around the country have primarily focused on examination and treatment on the basis of foreign patients' visit to South Korea and rarely built a medical network with other countries directly for medical tourism. This study presents a case of building a local medical network and a network for international medical tourism successfully on the basis of the local medical association, CMP, which has been formed naturally in Busan. The success factors for CMP included 1) enthusiasm of the official in charge; 2) the medical level, the service level, and open-mindedness of participant medical institutions; 3) cost efficiency due to executive office management with no costs, no conflicts, and constant partnership; 4) security of non-competitive expertise for participants; 5) local factors of CMP; 6) participation of good agencies; 7) reinforcement of participation networks; and 8) post facto management and local doctor management. Conclusions. Its positive effects included patient introduction and greater profitability on an internal basis as well as construction of the collaboration system with the institutions related to medical tourism and confidence. However, there are some limitations: it is still difficult to predict performance due to the short period of their activities, and it is necessary to continue to observe their constant activities since a single medical association was involved.
