  • In this paper, a new approach for the Synchronous Reluctance Motor control which ensures producing Maximum Torque per Ampere(MTPA) over the entire field weakening region is presented. In addition, This paper presents a speed sensorless control scheme of SynRM using artificial neural network. Also, by adjusting the base speed for the field weakening operation according to the flux level, the current and voltage limit, the smooth and precise transition into the field weakening operation can be achieved The proposed scheme is verified validity through simulation.

  • The characteristics of permanent magnet synchronous motor are defined by airgap flux and circuit parameters. Interior Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor(IPMSM) has a nonlinear characteristics due to structural speciality of rotor, so it is difficult to analyze circuit parameters and field-weakening characteristics of IPMSM. This paper presents the calculation of circuit parameters by using Finite Element Method(FEM) taken into consideration of nonlinear characteristics. Using the circuit parameters by FEM, IPMSM is analyzed to field-weakening characteristics and is compared with the Equivalent Magnetic Circuit(EMC) in which lumped parameter is consideration.

Wide Speed Direct Torque and Flux Controlled IPM Synchronous Motor Drive Using a Combined Adaptive Sliding Mode Observer and HF Signal Injection

  • This paper proposes a new speed sensorless direct torque and flux controlled interior permanent magnet synchronous motor (IPMSM) drive. Closed-loop control of both the torque and stator flux linkage are achieved by using two proportional-integral (PI) controllers. The reference voltage vectors are generated by a SVM unit. The drive uses an adaptive sliding mode observer for joint stator flux and rotor speed estimation. Global asymptotic stability of the observer is achieved via Lyapunov analysis. At low speeds, the observer is combined with the high frequency signal injection technique for stable operation down to standstill. Hence, the sensorless drive is capable of exhibiting high dynamic and steady-state performances over a wide speed range. The operating range of the direct torque and flux controlled (DTFC) drive is extended into the high speed region by incorporating field weakening. Experimental results confirm the effectiveness of the proposed method.

  • 기존의 약계자영역에서의 유도전동기의 고정자자속 기준제어방법은 고정자기준자속을 회전자의 회전속도에 반비례해서 저감시키는 것이다 본 논문에서는 이러한 기존의 방법에 의해서는 최대토크를 얻지 못함을 보이고 최대토크를 얻기 위하여 전압제한조건 토크제한조건 및 전류제한조건을 고려한 새로운 고정자기준자속 선정방법을 제안한다.

  • To control the torque of the IPMSM, a lookup table is generally used in control system because of its nonlinear characteristics. However, the method of generating the lookup table data has the disadvantage of having difficulty accurately analyzing the changing parameters, generating the current or magnetic flux map is complicated and long test time taken due to motor temperature differences at each test points. In this paper, on the basis of the electromagnetic field design of IPMSM, we devised an electromagnetic field-based magnetic flux map model that can compensate for the pre-generated magnetic flux map through a quick and simple test.

  • Numerical identification of synthetic d-q flux linkage, representative parameters for analyzing interior buried PM synchronous Motor(IPMSM) with distinguished magnetic saturation, has been peformed. Particularly, numerical identification of synthetic flux linkage using modified Finite Element Method(F.E.M) has been taken cross-magnetization of multi-layered PM configuration into consideration. Futhermore, experimental identification on the purpose-built prototype has been made to verify the validity of the numerically identified synthetic d-q flux linkages.

  • In this paper, we calculated permanent magnetic linkage flux ${\psi}_{\alpha}$ and Ld, Lq parameters of IPMSM and compared two model which has different barrier width. IPMSM has two kinds of torque that reluctance torque and magnetic torque. In constant torque region, using the Maxwell stress tensor method, we calculated the torque and current phase angle ${\beta}$ which has appeared maximum torque. In weakening flux region, we calculated the current phase angle ${\beta}$ which flux ${\psi}_o$ lower than limited flux ${\psi}_{omax}$. From the current phase angle ${\beta}$, we calculated torque by torque equation and compared two model characteristic.

  • Recently, owing to environmental problems and instability of rare earth resources market, non-rare earth electric motors are attracting attention. As a non-rare earth motor type, a wound rotor synchronous motor(WRSM) has high power density and wide driving range further it can reduce loss by field current control during field weakening control at high speed. However, since the d-axis flux of the WRSM is coupled with the rotor circuit, the fluctuation in the d-axis flux linkage affects the rotor circuit, which causes ripple of the field current and torque. In this paper, we propose the field current ripple compensation method by injecting the feedforward voltage. the proposed compensating method was demonstrated by simulation and experiments.

  • This paper proposes the battery charging algorithm for small-scale wind power generator using three phase PWM converter. it is impossible to control output power of the converter in over wind speed region since back EMF of PMSG is higer than battery voltage. Therefore, battery charging algorithm is proposed to expand battery charging over wind speed region. The suggested method is using the q-axis current for battery charging in the rated wind speed region. In the over wind speed region after it lower back EMF of PMSG using d-axis current it can control output power of the converter. The validity of the proposed algorithm are verified by experiments.
