  • This paper presents preliminarily an implementation of digital high-performance motion control system of Reluctance Synchronous Motor (RSM) drives with direct torque control (DTC). The system consist of stator flux observer, torque estimator, two hysteresis band controllers, an optimal switching look-up table, IGBT voltage source inverter, and TMS320F240 DSP controller made by Texas Instruments. The stator fluff observer is based on the combined voltage and current model with stator flux feedback adaptive control, and the input of the observer are the stator voltage and current of motor terminal for wide speed range. The rotor position and speed sensor used 6000 pulse/rev encoder. In order to prove rightness of the suggested control algorithm, we have some simulation and actual experimental system at $\pm$20 and $\pm$2000 rpm. The developed digitally high-performance motion control system+ are shown a good response characteristic of control results and high performance features using 1.0kW RSM which has 2.57 Ld/Lq salient ratio.

  • This paper proposes a sensorless control method to improve the performance of an internal permanent magnet synchronous motor (IPMSM) control by using a full-order flux observer in a wide speed range. The conventional sensorless control method uses a constant gain for high performance at low-speed region. However, this method has drawbacks such as an increased angle error and current ripple in the high-speed region due to the fixed gain value. In order to overcome this problem, the gain of the full-order flux observer is changed by considering the angle error in the whole speed range. The proposed method minimizes the angle error for each region of the speed range by applying a relevant gain value, which improves the current ripple reduction and motor noise cancellation. The validity of proposed sensorless control method is verified by a simulation and an experiment.

  • This paper presents a new speed sensorless vector control scheme of Spindle Induction Motors(SIM) which can be successfully applied to at any speed including even zero speed. The proposed sensorless vector control of SIM uses rotor flux estimator with a variable bandwidth. This approach is based on the Closed-Loop Rotor Flux Observer(CLRFO) which includes a variable bandwidth of the PI controller. For low speed operation, the bandwidth of CLRFO has a variable bandwidth structure according to the estimated rotor velocity. The experimental results show the satisfactory operation of the proposed sensorless algorithm.

  • A novel equivalent flux sliding-mode observer (SMO) is proposed for dual three-phase interior permanent magnet synchronous motor (DT-IPMSM) drive system in this paper. The DT-IPMSM has two sets of Y-connected stator three-phase windings spatially shifted by 30 electrical degrees. In this method, the sensorless drive system employs a flux SMO with soft phase-locked loop method for rotor speed and position estimation, not only are low-pass filter and phase compensation module eliminated, but also estimation accuracy is improved. Meanwhile, to get the regulator parameters of current control, the inner current loop is realized using a decoupling and diagonal internal model control algorithm. Experiment results of 2MW-level DT-IPMSM drives system show that the proposed method has good dynamic and static performances.

  • This paper presents a Maximum Torque per Ampere (MTPA) control algorithm for an interior permanent magnet synchronous motor (IPMSM) drive considering the permanent magnet (PM) flux linkage variations due to PM temperature variation. PM flux linkage are estimated in real time via a Gopinath style stator flux linkage observer and a torque error correction factor is calculated from the estimated PM flux linkage. A 2-dimensional (2D) MTPA look-up table (LUT) is developed to achieve the MTPA trajectory reflecting PM flux linkage variation for compensating torque error occurred by parameter variation. The proposed IPMSM control algorithm is verified through simulations.

  • This paper is proposed to position and speed control of interior permanent magnet synchronous motor(IPMSM) drive without mechanical sensor. The rotor position, which is an essential component of any vector control schemes, is calculated through the instantaneous stator flux position and an estimated flux value of rotating reference frame. A closed-loop state observer is implemented to compute the speed feedback signal. The validity of the proposed sensorless scheme is confirmed by simulation and its dynamic performance is examined in detail.

  • This paper presents a design method of the continuous inertial binary observer which includes the rotor flux and speed estimations. The sliding observer based on the variable structure theory ensures the robustness of disturbance and is applied for the method to keep an insensitivity for the variations of parameter. Sliding observer, however, has a high-frequency chattering deteriorating the state estimation performance. To reduce the chattering on the sliding surface in sliding observer and improve the estimation performance, binary observer scheme which has main advantages such as the absence of high-frequency chattering and the finite gains is applied in this paper. Computer simulation results show the effectiveness of binary observer proposed here for the induction motor drives.

  • This study describes the scheme of vector drive system without speed sensor for AC servo motor using theory of a flux observer and based on the field oriented vector control. The new method of speed estimation is presented from operate with the position and magnitude of the secondary flux which obtain from the voltage reference and detected current. As the estimated speed is settled by the flux and the machine-specific parameters. this method don't need to adjust the gain of the parameter. Based on the derived theory for vector control. the scheme for sensorless vector drive of AC servo motor is designed and realized. And the experiment verifies it passable to realize the sensorless vector drive based on a field-oriented type.

  • The proposed rotor time constant estimation method can be applied to the direct vector control system of induction motor with flux observer In this paper the flux observer proposed by Gopinath model are used. This paper presents a new scheme for on-line estimation of rotor time constant using estimated rotor flux phase and current model rotor flux phase. The major advantage of this method are its dynamic correction capability, simplicity and accuracy as well as independence from change in motor parameter. simulation results are presented which demonstrate the effectiveness of the on line rotor time constant estimation.
